peacock feathers

PEACOCK FEATHERS

I’m sure that some of you are religious folk that will take exception to my talking about evolution. Perhaps you believe that God made peacocks pretty because he wanted a poetic looking fellow strutting around for the aesthetic pleasures it provided. And perhaps you are right. But I’m an evolutionist ( some would call me a Social Darwinist, but I have too low of an opinion of people in general to believe a certain few can be improved, or that a few can rise above our base stupidity ) and I don’t see things like you do. So, look at this in the context that I’m describing the world looking out from my own particular rose hued glasses. Peacocks evolved to look pretty. And there is only one rational explanation for this. Peahens were looking at them with a discerning eye and picking the fellow strutting the best stuff. Why? Because she wanted her offspring to also look pretty? How ridiculous is that? She wanted the best genetic material possible to enhance the survivability of her chicks ( or whatever they call the babies ). Pretty is just a secondary marker.

*

A peacock does not enhance his survivability by having a huge plume that is brightly colored. He is slower to flee, he can easily be seen by predators and he must find more food to both groom and physically maintain the extra feathers. As an individual, he has decreased his chances of survival. But his DNA has a better chance of being passed on. Because ( so far at least ) he has evaded being eaten even with the handicap, because he has found more food, he has superior genes. The kind a mate wants. And males of all species, humans included, don’t give a crap about staying alive. They only want to mate. We don’t go to war for king or country or even for our fellow soldiers, but to fulfill our hardwired need to mate. Animals fight each season, the female scent getting everyone all hot and bothered and ready to kill any stupid sonofabitch wanting to get in their way. Humans have evolved differently although the end result is the same. It would be impossible for a human fetus to emerge from between the hips of the mother with a fully developed brain. It is physically impossible for the mother to have those kinds of hips. So a baby is born “premature” at nine months and takes another year of so being totally helpless and still developing its brain. And after that it takes years to imprint the skills it needs ( instinct is faster, but can’t develop ). It would be impossible for a women to have the body both to rear children and provide and protect them, so a male is essential ( and if you are wondering why women are in heat constantly, both after already conceiving and after menopause, it is for no other reason than keeping the male in the pair bond. All you stupid twats that think you don’t need to put out, listen up ).

*

To provide for the family, and to protect them, the male is by necessity both strong and testosterone driven. You need the one to be the other, and as a fortunate side effect for the species, and women smart enough to figure it out ( women instinctively showcase their body, but the farthest they take it is to lure and trap, shake down and release. The idiots have replaced the plentiful supply of males with a government using non-renewable resources to bribe them. If this doesn’t apply to you- congratulations. You are one of the few smart ones ), having all those chemicals makes you a slave to your sex drive. So fighting, being combative, being competitive and such is the male answering his libido. Self preservation is secondary. If the male dies, another is quick enough found. The offspring survive. And continue in the long rearing process.

Human peacock feathers serve the same function as for the bird. The things we do as males to attract females is not always advantageous to our long term survival. And we simply could care less. We go to war or any number of equivalents to showcase our protector talents. We strive for wealth, even at the cost of jail, or bodily harm from stress. Contrary to what every gullible teenager was sold, cars don’t get the women. Only cars that showcase your family wealth that you shall inherit do. Women don’t just seek wealth, but also social status. Preferably both. But as a male, beware two things. One, a women that settles for you is doing just that, settling. She would prefer stronger, wealthier and more powerful. She settled for whatever she could get with her less than perfect body ( just as power and wealth showcase the genes enabling the male to become the Alpha Male, female beauty showcases physical superiority genetically. And BTW, for the benefit of you fems, female beauty has evolved to an hourglass figure, the breast and hips similar measurement with a smaller waist than either. It doesn’t matter if you are chunky or skinny, as long as the ratio is such ). And two, if you are only as good as she could get, if she settled for you rather than you settling for her, she will most likely cheat on you if at all possible. She will maintain the pair bond, and seek the superior genes elsewhere. Than she will raise another set of genes, tricking you in to raising them as your own.

*

Now, keep in mind the above is traditional behavior. It might not hold true with today’s modern liberated female of the last forty years, but it has held throughout history and will become true once again in the near future. Also keep in mind, you know I can’t let conflicts lay dormant. You should have known where this was going. That’s right, peacock feathers and semi-automatic guns. Do you understand now why so many cling to them? It is a status symbol. It tells the female how much more wealthy he is ( as does the one suburb one retreat home, the multiple bug out vehicles, the five grand in freeze dried foods ). He can dream up tactical superiority arguments all day long, but at the end of that day, it is a preferred way of attracting a mate ( if already married, a way to keep her and their offspring ). I don’t mind acting like a mindless moron, my vaginal seeking little brain unheeding all complications or consequences. But I don’t try to hide that I’m a moron because of it, either. You should try it.

  1. Where do you get your wheat James? Do you buy the hard red winter wheat? The local Safeway had some about a month or so back, but no longer carry it. I went to the health food store and they no longer carry the bulk wheat, but they sold some 1lb bags for around $4.00. What should you pay? They only had white wheat and spelt. I went with the spelt. Going to try my hand at Kurt Saxon's thermos cooking this weekend. I'm looking at the food jars rather than the thermos, because it's much too difficult to get the contents out of the narrow necked thermos. I'll wrap it in a blanket for extra insulation if need be.

    1. If you can't buy at the local feed store, 30 cent a pound, 44 cent after putting in a Home Depot bucket, go here:
      http://beprepared.com/provident-pantry-superpail-hard-red-wheat-45-lbs.html
It's a buck a pound, but it sounds cheaper than what you are getting. I'll be covering alternate kernal cooking methods soon

    2. Thanks for the link James. That does seem like a reasonable price, and if I'm interpreting it correctly, only $6.00 to ship? That's very reasonable shipping.

What's the estimate on a years supply of wheat per person again?

    3. That is why I've always loved and recommended the company- no surprise shipping costs when the truck pulls up. If you are asking the amount you need, 400 lb per person per year. One pound a day, a bit left over for sprouting.

  2. Correction; it was 1lb 12oz of spelt for $4
