rodney king collapse 1 of 2

RODNEY KING COLLAPSE
I’m going to briefly mention the TV show “Walking Dead”, but as an example.  This is not a review per se or an acknowledgement that the program is anything other than mindless entertainment with the occasional nugget of Prepper Wisdom thrown in.  The problem with the show is that there are SOOOOoooooo many pieces of crap disguised as survivalism that they will all get you killed before the nuggets come in handy.  Mostly, you watched the show, if you ever did, just for the anthropology.  The human interaction dynamics.  How the other asshats would treat you and what to expect.  Okay, spoiler alert for season eight ( the one new on Netflix ).
*
Thank all the gods that Carl the main guy Rick’s son was killed off.  Helping some stranger.  The message was, hey, I was being a decent human being and treating others well and he turned out to be a doctor so, yeah, me, and You Go Girl on diversity is our strength.  I’ve always hated that whiny petulant little humper.  He has annoyed me from day one.  Well, most characters do.  They are all so friggin stupid that you want them all to die.  But Carl annoyed me the most, so good riddance you twat.  Prior to getting back on grid and Netflix, I had been buying the series on DVD’s.  I had a lot of money invested in the show, and so I took these kinds of things personally.
*
Rick tried to tell Carl that Tribe Comes First.  The little butt wipe was never listening.  So his stupid ass got bit, which is great.  I suppose that viewers could take away either lesson.  Darwin Rules, or He Was A Better Person And Sacrificed Himself.  Yet to me, and granted this just might be me, it seems that this season the show finally Jumped The Shark.  It used to allow valuable lessons to be learned, by characters dying and teaching the others.  This was what attracted me to it.  How warring societies acted.  How tribalism was going to work out through war and scarcity.  This season though, it seemed to have veered into just propaganda.  Left propaganda.
*
The show was always stupid about Political Correctness, I grant you.  Bitches Be Warriors being the primary sin.  Instead of keeping the females safe to breed, they were risking their lives. Then, the group takes on strangers to keep their numbers up.  That is exactly the wrong answer long term.  And yes, I know this is just the immediate aftermath and the dynamics will be different, but it was the over the top Grrrl Power bullcrap I’m talking about.  I accepted that because the other Life Lessons were interesting.  Like, how the groups fed themselves ( never adequately explained although touched on ) or how they came up with devious methods of combating each other.  It was just food for thought, even if very lacking in nutrients.
*
Yet this season just got extra stupid on almost everything.  They just stood there and auto-fired.  All the time.  At very short distances.  And didn’t hit a thing.  Hell, one zombie is ten yards away.  And they give him a burst.  ONE friggin zombie.  No threat.  Meah, what’s another three to five cartridges, right?  As they stand around complaining about ammo running low.  Was this just trying for a little sizzle to titillate the GameBoys watching the show?  Was this what was going to pass for action from now on?  And then Neegan’s ( spelling? ) group has the Braniac making ammo for them as if it is all some mystery how to load the things but the reloading components were no big deal.
*
That was one reason I was thinking the LefTards had hijacked the show.  They almost seem to be highlighting how evil full auto plastic guns are, because they think they are magic.  They don’t understand tactics or logistics.  They just know Evil Weapons in the hands of Righteous Folks In Charge is good, but otherwise only Bad Dirt People having them is terrible and taking them away makes everything okay.  You don’t need logic or intelligence to be a Left-ee, just indoctrination.  Is this why we’ve been seeing the recent acts where the surrounded soldiers ALWAYS lay down their arms and surrender?  Seems symbolic.
*
Who the hell thinks it is a good idea to surrender when you are going to get killed or tortured, and not in that order?  But all the time, “ooooh, we are surrounded.  We must give up!”.  Tell me that isn’t poorly done propaganda.  Give up your guns and give up trying to fight.  And then when you do, despite all logic that the only way to treat you, in the absence of a slave market, is to kill you because we are out of food ourselves, they always have a Happy Ever After ending.  Bah!  But let me return to the main topic of this post.  All through the season they kept pounding in the message that Can’t We All Just Get Along?  You know, Rodney King stupid ass crap.
*
Carl got bit after he refuses to believe you only help your own, never others outside the tribe.  And then, after enduring a few weepy episodes all about what a perfect and swell guy Carl was ( despite being a moron and NEVER listening to his elders ), the rest of the season we get to listen to the letters Carl wrote to everyone telling them all how they needed to stop fighting each other and make peace and get into a big group hug.  And in the end, because Our Hero’s were trying to live up to the gospel according to Saint Carl, the Amazon Bitches joined in the righteous fight and once again the females came to the rescue ( using upper body strength weapons, naturally! ) and saved all the puny unworthy males that they only listened to if they were sensitive and shared their feelings.
*
Besides all the PC nonsense, and the huge big stinking turd of the “war, what is it good for?” pounded home propaganda, the show was for the first time, at least for me, just completely boring.  There was no tension or a feeling of looking forward to the next show.  I actually for the first time had to force myself to watch through each episode ( kind of like the second half of the original BBC series “Survivors” ).  In the case of the DVD collection, it was to get my monies worth. In the case of Walking Dead, it was because there was nothing else survivalist related to watch.  I feel pathetic and weak.
*
Tomorrow, no talk of the Walking Dead, just about the fallacy of thinking there will ever be peace or cooperation.  That will all be obvious, but I feel the need to reiterate.  Until then.

  1. Thank you for the spoiler. I just got Netflix last night so I could watch that season of TWD. I guess I can rewatch The Man In The High Castle until their new season starts

    1. Take every irritant you've ever had with every TWD season, add them all together, allow a Cat Woman to write the script, and you have the new season. It really was terrible. I would only recommend it to the ex-wife, or a lawyer. Watch the two foreign zombie films on Netflix. The one from OZ:
      https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/cargo-netflixs-australian-zombie-film-spotlights-aboriginal-talent-and-struggle/
      And the French Canadian one:

They are both damn good movies. They take their time with story and character, with minimal zombies. Then watch "The Survivalist".
You are already light years ahead of season 8 of TWD.

    1. And you can always re-watch the earlier seasons. Me? I'd watch regular TV like Breaking Bad and that outlaw Motorcycle Club show. I never can remember the darn name of it. Has the mom from Married With Children in it, as yummy as ever ( and she can actually act ).

    2. Sons of Anarchy Jim. I’ve never actually seen this show, but I know she’s in it. That said, I never really found the married with children mom to be very attractive. Now her younger, but much lesser known twin sisters weren’t too bad at one time. Older minions might remember that the twins, Liz and Jean Sagal, where in an obscure tv series back in the 1980’s, by the name of “Double Trouble”.

    5. 8:24-I like the bubble-licious type females. Throw in big hair and I'm sold. And I don't mind chunky, on the Milk Maid model. I can do skinny, just not a preference.

    6. I didn’t know this until after I posted this Jim, but the twins were in a few commercials, among them, McDonald’s and the Doublemint twins. Dayum, they were hot back then! 1983, wow. That’s the year I graduated from high school. What was that? Like a 150 years ago!

  3. Yeah, now you know why I generally don’t watch anything produced past about 1965. It’s just brimming with that girl power horse shit, or previous characters in newly rebooted series are given the “gender bender” or replaced with a different race (Lost in space, Magnum PI) or sexual orientation (Charmed). Apparently MacGyver is back (The first one sucked shit, so they should have left it in the dust bin of bad old tv shows) and I can only imagine how badly they PC’ed that one up. Then of course they had to bring that liberal asshole Murphy Brown back!

That movie The Survivalist, was the only survival feature that I have seen that is honest about what the role of women is really going to be PA.

By the way (and you might already know this, as I don’t even watch the series) But one of the dude’s that used to be in The Walking Dead just died. Apparently he was quite popular.

    1. You do 50 films, thirty years of TV, and your obit reads "Walking Dead Star dies". Not sure what to make of that. You are only as good as your last hit, perhaps? I know they are real PC assclowns in Hollywood anymore, but there are a few "saves". My dad, a real cop, loves the new SWAT. Just from a mostly realistic standpoint, of course. Not factoring in any PC issues. He understands the Change For TV aspect-he judges on a More Right Than Wrong basis. I haven't heard of him liking a cop show since the 70's.

    2. It wasn’t until I made this post that I looked up his IMDB profile, and realized that it was the same dude that co-starred along with Stacy Keach, in The Ninth Configuration. He looked entirely different in that film, and I didn’t even recognize him as the same guy. But then again, it was a 1980 film, so that it explains that.

Scott Wilson in the ninth configuration

    3. Damn, that is a huge difference. Tony Danza just came out in a Netflix show ( The Good Cop ). Looks like he got plastic surgery, was beat with a bat while healing, got more surgery, got an infection, and then came out with a mug a mother wouldn't love. Okay, I really only care what gals look like, honest, but if this is what I have to look forward to when I age, I'm a bit frightened. I already don't look as magnificent as I used to.

    4. I think the most shining example of this today is Mickey Rourke (lots of plastic surgery gone wrong). That dude looks like the creature from the black lagoon now! Of course, if you can have a beauty and the beast thingy going on with someone like Julia Adams (As she appeared in 1954; that’s an important detail :D ) then who cares!

    5. Damn,if he went back to boxing he could improve his face. I imagine it was worth getting his last few movies so he had something extra for the hookers and blow ( seriously, you would think the residuals would keep pouring in as the guy did a lot of work ).

      Delete
    6. Geez, that Rourke is a freek show! LOL
Danza, now, looks like Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Remember that guy? I always thought Danza was younger than me. I was wrong. Was it his 2" dik that gave Alyssa the 'tude?

  4. Remember Minions, film and t.v. are "attempts" to replicate a surreal version of someone's artistic talent approach to the topic, storyline, cinematography, humanistic actions and behaviors, etc. When the writer stock, actor stock, director-producer stock are no longer an educated and professionally developed source, like that of the previous century, the end product will surely be lacking as well. 9 of 10 produced items of film, t.v., music, are pure pulp as worthy as their audiences. When Minions are out and about and make observations of humanity in the streets, in line in store, at public functions, the why to it all is evidentiary and on display.

    1. Watch the "pitch meeting" series on YouTube. Here is one:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehdRfvDLcWA
The guy is friggin hilarious, and he points out such obvious lack of any writing talent in movie scripts. They honestly don't get old, nor do you have to like the genre.

  5. TWD like most operations start out working hard to perform, make the money, earn accolades. After a period it's performance curve drops off like a life cycle, then it dies out. The writers and cast follow instructions of producers and straw boss directors. The P.C. police issue orders for those sjw and namby themes you've seen now for decades. Example: Red Dawn (2nd version) re written with NORKS north koreans as invaders instead of CHICOMS chinese. Not at all a possibility in conus america. (Deer hunters alone will clean it up) BUT! Sony studio changed script and re filmed mid production pushing back release as well, they are mostly owned by chinese interests, no longer a Japanese stalwart company. Follow the money. Determine who / whom is in charge making decisions behind the scenes. That info is not in the credits at end of movie.

    1. I wonder how long TWD print media stayed top notch prior to that performance curve falling. I imagine far longer.

  6. Few years ago our son sent some epi's on a USB drive and I watched about 10 mins of one. Couldn't deal with the very premise - dead people walking around. If I'm going to suspend disbelief I'll do it with 1950's TV westerns where the dead people stay dead.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Of course the premise is retarded. I hate all things superhero or fantasy. I couldn't even watch Lord Of The Rings. You can't suspend disbelief as much as just try to ignore the zombies. Focus on the living vs. living. But I hear you. Sometimes, you just can't waste your time on something that rubbed you the wrong way.

      Delete
    2. The walking dead shows problem is they don't kill the people in need of killing. Neegan murders your friends in front of you. You defeat him, and let him live. In the fear the walking dead, the insane black lady kills people and writes on them with marker. You tye her up instead of killing her so she can shoot you later. Drives me crazy.

  7. On the premise of article series, it will be a very long time coming before there will be a peace, or any civil harmony and cooperation amongst people. The main hinderance is there has been an allowed polarization of tribal, or created categories of special interests previously not existent. Unless Lord Bison through brute force or by blindingly bright wisdom can summon cooperation on a biblical scale, then it shant happen. A hermit kingdom effectively cloistered from outside influences and subversion, with absolute top down hierachy and overlayered control mechanisms would need to be in place for generations of time lines to insure proper indoctrination of standards and adherence. A lot of work, a lot of time, but doable. Never mind a few broken eggs on the floor while making the omlet.

    1. Peace and harmony only happens when you drastically shrink the group numbers, AND have a functional culture. We have neither today. We'll have both plenty quick PA.

  8. I've tried , really I have. Several times , tried watching an episode of it...sooooo boring that even watching tRump give a canned speech is more entertaining and full of possible suspence...
Just don't get the appeal of such obvious fiction. Though I've always been a sci-fi fan of possible future things. However, when it is not with in the realm of any known science. Not so much...

    1. I look at it like it was a show such as The Sopranos or Breaking Bad. It IS boring and drags, unless the writers do their damn job. I don't compare TWD to the other two, BTW. Just saying that nothing happening and two characters yapping away at each other CAN be done right. I can see how easy it is to get turned off Dead, as they are down at the bottom of the heap writer wise. Only PA keeps it watchable for some. And they screwed that up with all the stupid short cuts and obvious impossibilities. But that was later seasons.

      Delete
    2. Hell , just monitoring the news channels is more entertaining and somewhat more realistic than TWD,

    3. Thanks for the mammaries.
The boredom factor was a major issue.
I remember sitting there waiting for something to happen.
Never did, til I hit the OFF button.

    4. Yeah, at this point I'm not even defending the show as watchable, but rather excusing my participation :)
