cali exodus 4

CALI EXODUS 4 ( final in series )

Californiafacation

The smart money moved out once the wealth creation was over ( read: one time energy draw-down was complete ), leaving the ignorant who believe the second law of thermodynamics was invalid, plus all the guest workers invited in during the good times ( they are still being invited it, just for the illusion of growth, but more on that below ). Where ever and when ever that smart money moved, they infected the new areas with the rabies disease of the Growth Paradigm ( how could they not, since that superstition allowed them to get rich and prosper? ). Now that California is falling apart badly ( it isn’t JUST the draught-that was just the straw that broke the camels back ), even the dumber residence want to leave. But that is only the smartest of the dumbest. The whole state population has yet to wake up to their true future and are still asleep at the wheel ( sometimes literally, as commutes are so jam packed and slow ). Yet, the politicians there are the worst, not changing old policies one iota, least any of their wealth and power being jeopardized. What screwed them then, they will keep doing. More growth, at any cost. At the cost of all fertile land. At the cost of livability. At the cost of turning the place into a death trap. Too many people without enough water has always been a Cali issue, but population growth is growth enough if true economic productivity is absent. Taxes increase as housing increases and more gasoline is sold, and someone has to sell more coffee and refrigerators. Which is why illegal immigration is not an issue with politicians. They could care less about how it effects residents of the state, as long as growth is continued. A business owner leaves for anywhere better ( except, perhaps, New Jersey or Oregon ), three illegals take his place. The end result is a welfare state, but the immediate effect is the wealth machine continuing.

*

Which is how every former Cali resident moved elsewhere feels. They don’t care which warm body brings in money ( and the government welfare kind is preferred because it is constant and secure-if only for now ), as long as one does. So, it isn’t just that the Cali Attitude is about jacking up real estate prices. It is about uncontrolled growth, every place outside the state, and the wrong kind of growth. When state coffers are empty, when the PetroDollar ends for good, the welfare payments will end and every city and county and state which houses old Cali residents and has gladly accepted the dregs of that state as a form of drawing government money in locally will suddenly be faced with armies of outsiders pissed and hungry. You are NOT looking at just hordes invading after the fall, but ALSO already imbedded "agents" for those hordes in place. How does that warm the cockles of your heart? Your home was never their home. They think of their home as back in California where the weather is warm, the politicians care about the poor and political correctness trumps small town conservative values. Don’t get me wrong, the hordes from Cali will still be HUGE. After all, welfare there is very generous. Why leave? But those that do leave before the collapse still think the same as those left behind. A cohesive community they do NOT make. They will turn against their new home gladly, part of a mob that was only pacified with Uncle Obammy money. Guess what the solution is? Cleaning house, immediately and ruthlessly, before you even have to deal with the new arrivals. Cleaning, as in the new revolutionary power killing off all proven or potential rivals. Got the fortitude for that?

  1. Same theme holds true for new yorkers coming down south and then trying to get things done the way they did em back home.

    1. A future article will be the coming North/South immigration.

      Lord Bison,

I await the North/South article...I remember years ago shortly after I graduated high school I moved to Western NC briefly...Loved the area but the job prospects were tight. Many of the people that I met hated New Yorkers vehemently. Seems alot of those Manhattan refugees were buying up mountain tops to place second homes. Often times these new neighbors would call the police on people for doing things like discharging firearms.
I currently live in South Central PA. The area has become a relocation center for refugees from the Queens and the Bronx. Natives of the are resent the new comers. Not without reason I might add.

    3. It won't be multiple parts like the Cali exodus. I lived in the South for over ten years, but am barely qualified to write on it.

  2. Nope, I don't have the fortitude for the sort of "house cleaning" you are referring to. Which is why I chose a place that is already slightly hostile to newcomers, has very few Californian immigrants, and will collapse in the eyes of the current immigrants BEFORE California itself does.
Already a lot of people are leaving - the feds are pulling back their border patrol guys ("letting" them relocate their job to where they want - as long as it is a border)- The Oil companies are quitting their exploration of the edges of the Bakken oil field - And as the nearby oil boom goes bust, many other companies that were starting up here are choosing to relocate to more stable and populous areas.
I suspect that the Oil bubble will re-inflate a little in a few more years but nowhere near the scale this latest one did, in part because so many will have gotten their hands burned with this bubble pop...
So I am hoping that by having kept my head mostly down, and sticking through this coming 'drawdown' in local population that should precede California's main exodus I will avoid being the target of the house cleaning that might occur should the Fed .gov break down.

    1. I don't know if I have the fortitude, but ya rolls your own dice and take your chances. I chose a strategy that isn't ideal, so it requires growing a nutsack or dying.

    2. That is the problem with any relocation effort though.
Finding a place where the future "house cleanings" are unlikely to sweep you up.
And staying in a city of almost any size is liable to be worse than getting through a "house cleaning".
So a place must have affordable land in reasonable distance of at least minimum wage jobs, the bare necessities of survival (water, food production, some source of energy), and most importantly a social setup that you can integrate into enough to survive and sweeping.

    4. I've got the land, the SO and child using a bucket when on trips to it, just got the trailer. This summer is for working the land into condition to build and putting up storage for our stuff, next summer the trailer will be parked there and inhabited full time while we 'build' - saving the money spent on rent will off set the inconvenience for the spouse enough I hope. I also had to throw in a trip to one of the theme parks, but that is a cheaper bribe than divorce, and gets far more support from the spouse for spending that summer on the land building.

    5. so, you build while she visits park?

  3. You will even see what you've described in your article James on a more micro level.

As an example, I'm originally from the Bay area. About 15 years ago we relocated to the mother lode east of Stockton. I was out looking at property by appointment with a Realtor and two other guys, and made the mistake of mentioning to one of the guys where I was from (He was from that area). Even though he was a cool guy, he proceeded to drop several comments throughout the day about “how all of the damn people from the Bay Area are moving up here and driving up the damn prices, so that those of us that are from here, can't even afford to buy our own place here.”

I know at least that at one time, there was a lot of anti-California sentiment in Oregon and Washington as well, but that must have to do entirely with Californians driving up property values, since those two states are full of leftist pukes as well.

I mention this as a potential concern, since I've considered relocating to the south before. But really, anywhere you go it could be a concern. Personally, I think it's best to just lie and say that you're from somewhere else that's not hated.

    1. "born and raised in California, but I moved out twenty years ago" should do it nicely.

    2. Better yet James: Born there, but I was the only person there that didn't suck, so I left :D

    3. As long as they think you stopped someplace else first. I think this defuses a lot of issues

    4. Agreed. Good advice James that I'll keep in mind, since I'm still stuck here for now.

    5. I've met the nicest people from California, especially from LA Basin hellholes like San Bernardino or Riverside. They demonstrated their intelligence by leaving. Most have extended family back there, and less-occasionally visit to provide intel on returning. The formerly-ag interior is in a world of economic/political/social hurt. But, nothing that a 95% die-off won't fix.

  4. There are liberal pukes everywhere. I relocated to south Mississippi 24 years ago from PA due to the military. I am accepted here. Some of my best friends and allies are true yankee hating southerners but Ive been accepted. Ive had plenty of time to adapt. Working as a southern Sheriffs deputy I learned to act and talk southern. I was fortunate to have some folks tell me how to talk to people like the fact that when conducting business you never get to the point right away. You talk about everything else for a while. They know what you want and if you handle folks right they will bend over backwards for you. Ive seen it repeatedly. Yes there are idiots driving around with Obama stickers still on their cars but there is alot of good folks down south. And they believe in the the constitution, guns, god, family and screw the politicians. Its hot but I like it here.

    1. Right, you fit into the tribe, you are part of it, regardless of birth.

    2. Exactly.
And step one is dressing close. Around here the local uniform is a baseball cap (preferably john deer or other supplier for local industry) long sleeve denim shirt (even during the hottest part of summer or T-shirt, blue jeans and hiking boots (only teens and down wear sneakers)
Which is why I know that traditional gang bangers showing up in town should we be without rule of (federal/state) law, had better not be dressed the part or else they will find their rears weighed down with lead, no questions asked- the sheriff is a good o'boy related to 1/4th the county, the only state trooper is his friend, and the fed only has border patrol and are drawing them down while giving more grants to the sheriff to help patrol....

    3. I went from combat boots to cowboy. I almost feel warm and fuzzy here now.

    4. I hadn't heard of that trend, paying a deputy to supplement fed border patrol. To save money? Or just to piss more away?

  5. Agreed pdxr13. Once you leave the Bay Area or other major metro areas by a few hours or more, you have for all practical purposes, left the state, and the people are much better. Unfortunately, those in the more populated areas have determined the legislation for the entire state, so there really is no freedom anywhere here, even in the more isolated counties. I found that out the hard way when I went and looked at that property in Modoc county.

Understood Nightshift. There really is no escaping it anywhere anymore. You pretty much have to avoid any burgs of anymore than perhaps a few thousand population. And even then, you must be far, far away from any major population. Because after the leftists drive the cost of living up with their insane politics, they will relocate to a more rural area, drive up the property values, all the while bringing their politics with them and proceeding to destroy that area in the same fashion. That's exactly what happened to my small county that is only 25 miles away from Stockton, and a mere 1.5 hours away from the Bay Area. You must really make it a point to be very far away from any serious population, or you will just be moving every few years.

    1. I moved to Elko with 16k population and in five years it is 20k. I should move, myself. Probable won't, like a dumbass. I see 25k in another five years if the mines don't crap out.

    2. That's a fair amount of population James, but you are also pretty far removed from any of the big cities I believe? So there are definitely far worse places to be. If I buy there, I'll probably make it a point to be at least 10 miles outside of town.

    3. 200-300 mile buffer in all directions. I have property far removed from town and neighbors, but it is for retirement or hermitage only, being snowed in if we ever get snow in winter.
