ammo quantity/quality

AMMO QUANTITY/QUALITY
What is preferable, quality or quantity in ammunition? Asking from the perspective that time is as short as money, which would you want to focus on. This is NOT a Northern Idaho Survivalist Yuppie Scum Website where someone went to the dentist office and picked up an issue of National Geographic ( just another mainstream media Pravda outlet now, journalistic integrity long ago sacrificed on the alter of Mammon ) and never having heard of Peak Oil before, assumes they are printing the truth when they magically roll back the date to 2030. Just reclassify “conventional” to “anything combustible”, and voila!
*
Thank you communists, for teaching me that merely changing words or definitions means reality can be altered. I'd like to change “free blog” to “mandatory Deplorable read at $20 a month fee”. It's far more likely to happen than females besting men physically. And since I WANT it, that must be all the required reasoning. 'Murica!, hump yeah! Sorry there, goobers, but Peak was in 2005 and fracking won't save your ass. Time is short, so get your head out of your backside.
*
In 2013, the US was only producing about one million barrels a day from fracking. Last year, it was a bit over six million. But last year, we had already peaked in fracking oil production. With companies going bankrupt quickly, already, how much longer do you think it is going to be for production to once again fall back down to one million barrels a day? I would wager a jelly filled donut that it isn't another six years. Without fracking oil, we would not have survived the 2008 economic collapse, and since that time the PetroDollar has weakened appreciably. And no, Francis, the world doesn't need to freely sell us the oil we want. National oil companies are government controlled.
*
Was I the only one who noticed that at the peak of fracking oil production, the liquidity crises had started? The derivatives bad bets are coming home to roost, and the extra energy thrown at the economy is already failing to save us. Can you imagine how much worse the economy gets as energy supplies fall? It isn't as Happy Motoring as “cheaper gasoline”. Enough production goes off line from falling prices, the bigger the next price hike from lack of supply. Now add in Peak Fracking to the ongoing economic collapse, and all your butt boys on the Internet selling ammunition, as well as the manufacturers and raw supply companies, are going out of business.
*
Care to add in the political component to this equation? More states tax the hell out of ammunition, or more states pass “license to buy ammo” as California has done, and suddenly you cannot legally buy ammo. From whoever is left after mass bankruptcies. Well now, I guess your ability to buy ammunition prior to the collapse has taken a big squishy, hasn't it? So perhaps you don't have Business As Usual until 2030, or 2040, or whatever mythical happy date in the future the propaganda pictured you riding a unicorn in. Do any of you even remember 2008 onward? Did King Kenya distract you from the collapse, as his election was intended to?
*
Yeah, who was going to vote for a rich old White dude, again? That didn't really work out, Patriot Act and all. And a bitch for a running mate didn't exactly sweeten that pot. And then, a Mormon? Even if the only thing that pops into folks heads when they hear Mormon is Multiple Wives, the media made sure to play up that Secret Underwear meme, or the Evil Investment Fund. Obammy was supposed to keep you focused on politics rather than the economy.
*
You are again played for the sucker, with Orange Man. I'm not complaining, because Hilary, but we were still played. Hilary was never meant to win, Globalist Pro-Jewish Homeland That Dare Not Speak Its Name former Democrat Epstein ( who didn't kill himself ) buddy rich bitch blue blood east coaster New York City liberal Orange Man was meant to win, so that once again you focused on politics rather than the economy. Did you remember how the Fed bailed out all those foreign central banks, to the tune of nearly $20 trillion with a T?
*
Even if you refuse to believe oil is at the heart of all this, surely you cannot deny our overseas military is inefficient, our allies leaving us after too much abuse, our economic collapse never stopped and the decline continued for a decade, with it becoming exponentially worse? Even if the end of the American Empire is ONLY economic rather than energy driven, surely you understand we are beyond hosed. Gun control, and ammunition control, never left the agenda. It was suspended during Black Jesus, in effect buying the Deplorable silence, even if grudgingly, and now going full bore under your favorite orange RINO.
*
The haste could be contributed to the fact that the economic collapse is real this time, and the peasants need to surrender their pitchforks. It could be that the Republicans want gun control as much as Dems, and are allowing the communists full reign. I would even imagine the whole board of the NRA has been bought off to allow LaPeirra unrestricted looting to eliminate the organization financially. At least the communists know there is more than one way to skin a cat. The Deplorables all just vote, and mumble about a Red Line they keep moving.
*
Whatever the goings on behind the scenes, whoever is pulling the puppets strings, gun control is moving at the speed of light. If California is still a bellwether, you should expect ammunition control to be next, and probably nationally. Orange Bitch has already proven he could a crap about the Second Amendment ( if you minions elect me El Presidente For Life, I will change the task of the CIA to assassinate anyone, even Supreme Court Justices or state politicians or US Senators, that tries to restrict any of the Bill Of Rights. Plus, remember my other campaign promise, a promissory note for a SAW to anyone that votes for me ).
*
Neither economic collapses or gun and ammo confiscation is any longer a theoretical event. They are rear view mirror events. If you don't have enough ammo, buy a lot more. SG Ammo dot com is the best buy for your buck. If you have enough ammo, start burying most of it. Plastic has never been cheaper ( or at least so available in so many forms ). Use it. As far as the weak ass response, “but, if I need to bury it it is already time to use it”, Sweet Baby Jesus On A Rollercoaster! For humps sake, that is why One Is None. Have enough guns and ammo NOT buried so as to fight immediately. Bury enough to fight a very long time.
*
But, budget! Bitch! You can still get an AR for $350-$400. If I can put one together, the worlds biggest non-mechanical klutz, you can put one together. The book is below in the daily link. And the ammunition CAN be dirt cheap, as low as $195 per thousand with sales tax and delivered. Should you buy that cheap? We cover that tomorrow. I hope today you learned how little time you have.

  1. Yes. Unless a Minionite is in an 'advanced' marksman category with training -and- the higher end equipment on hand then match ammo or those brands with high brow marketing terminology terms for bullet construction methods or unobtainium materials is a fool's errand. The bulk overrun general purpose stuff will work just fine. The shooter always has to step it up to perform to level of the gun and ammo. Don't blame the steel cased, import, mass churned out ammo for flubbed shots. (Fire and um, manuever some too, yo!) Price differences of money saved always default goes towards food anyway. Not sacrificing anything.

I am thinking it was never asked what kind of ammo put the bodies in the ditch or the wounded in the medical tents. Stay frosty.

    4. Hey man, no hating on Clint Eastwood, seeing targets through squinty eyes can get tough especially when you are older. Better a shotgun to spread the love, you dig ? :^)

Shotgun ammunition is heavy, but is also easier to load under stress. You want to load rimfire cartridges in a magazine when taking hostile fire ? Shit, you will be mimicking Don Knotts, dropping ammunition as you try to load it. That is where pre-loaded magazines have a huge advantage over other designs.

      Delete
    5. I haven't seen Don Knots since I was a kid. Funny dude. I didn't appreciate the Clint scene until I got older. It was funny, now it is funny AND sad :) That movie is near 30 years old and it seems like it was just a little while ago.

  2. For me, a few hundred high quality rounds for a firearm to get through a fast moving crisis. Lots and lots of reliable, low cost ammo so that you have something to make the gun a legitimate deterrent. E.g, a few hundred good 9mm hollow points and lots of solid point 9mm ammo that cycles in your firearm.

    2. Use your premium ammo for two situations. The first is when the crisis is young, people still have most of their body weight, and still have alcohol and drugs to reduce their inhibitions and pain when they attack you. This is when you need as close to an instant stop as possible. After everyone is a "skinny" and no longer has access to drugs and alcohol, the stops will be faster with lesser ammo. The other situation is when you're using FMJ at a certain distance, but they begin closing in on you and you need each round to be much more effective, RIGHT NOW, because they just breached your perimeter.

    2. I have built $350 PSA builds. Closer to $425 with the increasing prices. They may not be sub MOA but even a 1-2 MOA will get the job done. They go bang and cycle. I have AKs and SKSs that are less accurate but i wouldn't feel under gunned. The basic build excedes the 80/20 concept.

As for the Steel cased ammo, i have always worried about extractor damage so I go for brass but the commie guns eat it up.

And Yes Lord Bison, the hair excedes any 80's band hair.

      Delete
    3. I don't know if that is much of a compliment. The 80's hair, to me, trended towards faggy. The 70's guys at least had facial hair to go with the long hair. I watched a YouTube vid once, a guy who worked with metal tested the steel case ammo and said the steel, untreated, was softer than brass. I still don't trust steel in my beloved Enfield's, but I trust the AR to run it. But I understand your caution regardless. Cheapest PSA kit, $300. Cheapest lower with background check $55. Cheapest middlin quality rear site, $20. $375, but that is if the planets align. I think everyone knows this is it for buying semi's. The state level alone, regardless of the Fed contest. Prices are going to keep inching up.

      Delete
    4. I guess it isn't fair to include the background check, just as we don't include sales tax or shipping in cost calculations. So, amend to $355. Here is a $299 kit:

Right. I hate the word "build" when referring to the assembling of something out of pre-manufactured parts. Building is done with raw materials.

  10. Ammo is a funky subject... But first you need to have firearms in popular calibers. 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO are very common rifle calibers as is .30-06 and the ubiquitous .22 and .22 magnum. I would stay away from the exotic calibers just because of the availability issue. Reloading can alleviate that concern.
I strongly advocate reloading your own brass to cut costs and improve consistency. You can get the basic equipment and consumables for a single caliber for under $300. That will reload a few hundred rounds. Ignoring equipment costs, it costs me about 60 cents a round to reload .30-06 ammo. That's about 1/2 of retail. Every caliber after that will set you back a set of dies and some powder, primers and bullets. Many calibers will use the same primers and powder. So there's potential saving and redundancy there. Also and an important consideration is pistol vs handgun. For example I can reload 1300 pistol rounds out of a pound of powder. I only get 130 rifle rounds out of a pound of powder...
A pound of powder costs between $25 and $40 depending on what you get.
1000 primers is $30. Bullets can be spendy.
I can reload a thousand rounds of my handgun ammo for $160 plus tax...
Depending on the press you get it'll take a day, maybe 2 to process that much ammo.
Send me an email of you want some more info or suggestions. My name at gmail.

    1. I'm not sure about the common caliber, if you have all the brass you'll need. Even Swiss or French weird calibers aren't impossible to get, especially with that European ammo company. PPC? Sportsman's carries a lot of it, even if the name escapes me right now. I was buying new 303B for the same price as 308

      Delete
  11. sorry, I think I misread initial question. But reloading gives you much greater consistency if you're meticulous. Save money and get match grade. That's a win win.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The problem with theexotic calibers is recovering brass during and after a firefight or while on the run from whatever zombies/UN Marxists/Golden Horde that's seeking to harm you.
Recovering brass at the range or the deer stand is pretty easy.
In a post collapse scenario the brass may be scarce. As well as consumables.

  13. True story, about 4 years ago I picked up a compound bow really cheap at a yard sale. I shot it several times but it bruised my fingertips really bad. Consequently I sold it thinking "That much pain for that short an effective range is a bad deal".
A year later someone gave me another compound bow. Complete setup...
I'm keeping this one because I figure God knows I'm gonna have a need for it in the future.
Same thing happened 8 years ago with motor homes. Sure enough, I'm a full time RV dweller now. Didn't set out to be but circumstances worked out that way. We may not know where God is taking us, but looking back with open eyes, his handiwork is plainly visible.
