looo, seeeeers 2

LOOO, SEEEEERS 2
European colonists likely would never have won a continent or two without biological warfare ( look how long it took to meaningfully conquer Africa, where we didn't have said weapon ). We tell ourselves all kinds of lies to make us look like winners. We tell ourselves capitalism triumphed over communism, and that was the reason the Soviet Union fell. Funny how that little island just south of Florida survived under communism. Most likely ( and no, we won't know for sure, as there is no freedom of the press anymore and it is all Pravda ), it was imperial overreach.
*
How did the US survive imperial overreach in 1965-1975, still viable, if barely, forty plus years later, and the Soviets imploded near simultaneous to their defeat at the hands of insurgents? It sure as hell wasn't because capitalism is superior ( hint: it was colonialism ). Before you go off all half cocked and start spewing your embedded Borg programming, I am speaking of capitalism as an economic system and NOT politically. Both America and China are presently capitalist, and I would argue that China is closer to laissez faire capitalism than we are.
*
One doubts China sends SWAT teams to take down lemonade stands run by ten year old's. And when politicians are busted there, for corruption, they are shot. What I prefer is America's set of laws, even if almost completely opposite of what we started with. But let us not confuse our oligarchy as being capitalist. Even when China is doing its worst “thought police” crack down, persecuting bad attitudes, there is a preliminary “advise and a chance to correct the oversight”. Only if after THAT do they persist, the state clamps down.
*
In China, social harmony is very important to the government. Here, disharmony is social engineered. For a profit. Do you really think that is capitalism? In China, ill mannered Muzzies are NOT welcome. Here? We fly them in from Africa and let them take over entire areas, and turn a blind eye to the imposition of Sharia law. Do NOT tell me how great our country is. I don't think there is a better one. I'm in no rush to leave. But I'm not blind, either.
*
Anyway, in most parts of the world, mismanagement of your country has severe side effects. As in, your government collapses a lot sooner than forty years. Russia, being Russia with a butt ton of resources made available after industrialization, especially with slave labor ( oh! Sorry, my bad! I forgot, Lincoln Lord Of Emancipation, ended slavery once and for all after Evil White Southerners kept the institution alive long after the rest of the world ended it because of “enlightenment” ), wasn't going to collapse any time soon no matter how poorly she was run, was still no where near resource depletion in 1990.
*
I think she was pushed over the edge, with our Color Revolution, but that is hard to prove with the complete lack of any discussion, the roars for 'Murican Capitalism deafening. How did she survive SEVENTY years of mismanagement? Resources to spare. Throw resources at any problem and you can be wasteful ( like filling up Hoover dam with poor Deplorables corpses, safety taking a back seat to deadlines or budgets ). WHY did she “collapse” after losing a ten year guerrilla war? She had the resources, including men.
*
One could surmise that, one, she didn't lose, and two, it was to defeat us. Again, I'm just spitballing ideas here. If we didn't color revolution them, was this a “controlled collapse”? Indulge my speculation here, for no other reason than it is amusing. What did Russia lose? Muslim colonies, which were mostly worthless other than mines. Surly Europeans. Granted, they were buffer states. But do you REALLY need buffer states, to slow down legions of tanks invading the Motherland, when you have intercontinental thermonuclear missiles?
*
By “giving up” communism, you stop losing the economic war. The legend has it that the US spent the Soviets into collapse. How? The Soviet Union was a capitalists wet dream, where ALL inputs were 100% free. FREE! Do you understand how much better your system does when there are no costs? Yes, I understand the lack of motivation with no profit. What YOU don't understand is that after a certain time, the profit motive also ruins motivation. Look at our present system of running companies into the ground, dismantling them and eliminating them, for profit.
*
Profit was destroyed our entire defense industry. ( Corporate ) Profit is why most workers today have zero motivation. Only self-employment motivates, and usually that has ZERO profit. JUST profit is no guarantee of success. A united culture goes a long way. Profit, collectively, for the social good, helps. Pure, naked, profits without responsibility, ruins a system. Communism's great fault is that it was politically correct, which destroys a culture. They had a faulty culture more than a faulty economy.
*
Russia embraced the strength of nationalism, jettisoning a dysfunctional culture of Marxism ( after they imported it to American colleges ), getting rid of under performing colonies full of cultures that hated Mother Russia. There was a price to be paid, moving to a more quasi-capitalist system such as we used to have, more fascist than socialist, and Russian mortality rates spiked. Kind of like ours is now, opium suicides and the like of substance abuses to purge society Darwin style. They used our system against us, Marxism eagerly embraced by our elite to Divide And Conquer, AND, for good measure, let us be the ones to “imperial overreach”.
*
If you buy into the “Muzzies against the world” argument ( and I'm not sure that I do, but let's just go with the “Muzzies made me invade Afghanistan” excuse for occupying the middle east ), then Bill Clinton bombing Somalia turned the Muzzy world against us. Or was it troops occupying Saudi Arabia to liberate Kuwait? Was it occupying Lebanon? Did Bill just get payback when The Blind Cleric bombed the World Trade Center the first time? These things are hard to keep track of. But be that as it may, it is hard to deny the First Iraqi War was our first blindly ambitious World Occupation Attempt immediately after the Soviets fell.
*
We RUSHED into imperial overreach, as if we couldn't help ourselves. Thirty years later, we are the ones completely out of resources ( if you buy the Peak Fracking argument, granted ), so broke coal powered China is our economic superior, groping and grasping to keep our nuclear deterrent viable as our military is shot, trying to garrison and occupy nearly every nation on earth as if we were still fighting a Cold War ( when we can't win an insurgency ), and with our overseas oil about to be withdrawn upon currency collapse. With extreme internal discord. Did we win the war, or did Russia? She is stronger than ever.
*
Way off topic, but I couldn't help myself. I'll get back on track tomorrow, our path towards depopulation.

note: an article HERE by SRS Rocco, an invaluable source, with a chart showing oil production on the top line and net energy the bottom line.  Hint-net is falling almost as quick as production rises.  Another hint-all the production increase GLOBALLY has been fracking, for at least ten years.  Super strong hint-fracking already peaked and some estimates have the industry crashing as early as next year.  Or, just call BS on the chart and go back to ignorant bliss.  Life saving hint-even if I'm wrong, it is always better to assume those making money off lying to you will do so.

  1. Post collapse whether an economic, political, or a resources version will at least allow the nation state or peoples to circle inward. This is like former empire nations in the med. Greece, Italy, Spain, all had far flung empires and after collapsing they are now just laid back easy going societies. Only interested in their own cultural traditions, food and eating, and fornication activities. They had to clue bat learn that overextending and adventurism is self destructive with the body counts to prove it. I would prefer to see america, after the "necessary" collapse just revert to a closed hermit kingdom type society using different political and economic practices than our current mess. Since I won't likely live to see that other side, I say strike up the band and get the spicy times and boogaloo started. Hurry up, please!

    1. I don't disagree about former empires. I do question whether the isolationism is self-imposed by lack of resources, or choice.

  2. My absolutely free WorldWideWeb opinion:

The chinese rely on American welfare in the form of 'foreign aid'.
As this collapse continues, chinese have less American welfare and less motive to colonize.
From a resources view, north America has little oil, barely enough coal to keep us warm, mono-culture forests of GMO factory-farm trees (designed for a single bug to flat-line the whole shooting match), and a population with little-to-zero capacity for innovation.

The chinese are not an issue.
MRSA and ineffective antibiotics are an issue.
Factory-farms of mono-crops are an issue.

Goofballs following Greta-Gore are the future of America... and the rest of this particular planet.
    Somalia.
    Smile for the camera.

The human experiment was interesting while it lasted.
I don't get too attached to labels.

  3. I sell products on Amazon. I just got an email that they are increasing fulfillment fees (Amazon gets a larger percent of the cost of the product).

And of interest to Bison, Amazon is decreasing referral payments (again).

    1. Sigh. Sad Panda. Thanks for the heads up. Nothing yet on e-mail, I'll go see if I can uncover anything on the tool bar. Hopeful only 1% less, rather than two. Gee, I don't see why I have to impacted by the economic collapse LOL

    2. Not seeing anything. Does it say what the associate commission is going to be? There was no notice about change on the site.

    3. At least you GET referral fees. In California you can't. I'd not mind being paid a few hundred $'s a month to blog. I really admire your making this work.

    4. Is there a state law against it? What's the deal? I did put in fifteen years writing to the point one could read it, and then it started paying. But it wasn't until three years ago I get paid anything other than Amazon commission. I think the biggest month I ever had selling my books was $20. Which is why you'all get a blog instead of books.

    1. Yeah, pretty much my experience with the homeless. They wouldn't even do a half hour volunteer work for a huge meal. Alkies, crackheads and crazies. A lot of nice people, but just not right. General Darwin will go through them like the clap in a barracks.

  5. Info for Demented guy, and anyone else. There's a new method of extracting tannins from acorns that hardly anyone seems to know about. You steam them in a steamer pot exactly like you were steaming vegetables. You have to break the acorn up into smaller chunks so the steam can penetrate the nut, you can't just put it in whole. So steam for 10 minutes or so, and all the tannins drip out into the water. Hopefully that will work for your method of preparing the acorns.

    2. By steaming them you lose the fat. Not only that much of the other nutrients are destroyed by the heat and carried away via the water.
Patience is a virtue which we surely lack in this on demand, instant gratification scheme.
Gather lots , soak em slo in cool, cool clear water for maximum value.
Or spank it hard and fast for a quick fix.
      There is a difference...
