acting depressed

ACTING DEPRESSED
Depressed about the economic Greatest Depression already underway? To a degree it is liberating in a way to just accept that the forces that always hold sway over man's feeble efforts are once again unleashed. The ebbs and flow of history cannot be diverted for long, and a decade after the economy should have crashed from the end of oil supply growth, eleven years after Helicopter Money has been dropped over every mansion and carpet bombed Wall Street, the end seems to about be nigh. I really honestly hope you are all acting as if the economic collapse has started, because it has.
*
But Jim, you say, I'm confused and not only because I cannot get my hair looking as perfect as yours no matter how I try, the markets are at record highs and Beto O'Commie dropped out of the Presidential race. All should be SUUUUPPER! I mean, duh, obviously your pig squeals on Peak Oil have been an asinine cry for help and we will be the worlds empire forEEEVVER! To which I reply with all the respect and love I can muster, oh, you sad, ignorant slut. The markets are as much of a meat puppet as Trump or any Democratic Presidential hopeful is.
*
Now, I'm not going to lie to you. When all the Democrats are in a line and asked certain questions ( “do you support wiping your old wrinkled rich ass with the Bill Of Rights?” “Do you believe Lenin's birthday should be a federal holiday so our brave civil servants can have another day off?” ), I get nervous as hell. I do. My stomach fills with acid and I squirt just a tiny bit of blood into my tighty whities. Why do you think I was so enthused about finding out how to make my own generic “Shout” to treat stains?
*
( 2/3 cup liquid dish soap, 2/3 cup ammonia, 2 cups warm water, 6 tablespoons baking soda. Mix and put in spray bottle. Very important to shake before every single use, as the ingredients separate in less than a minute. I use the homemade laundry soap rather than dish soap, to really save money. I don't know if Dollar Tree still offers it cheap, but Family Dollar does NOT, as a bottle is know $3 ) ( everyone and his brother online tell you how to make homemade laundry soap. It is a cup of Borax powder, a cup of Arm & Hammer Laundry powder and a bar of grated laundry soap such as Zote. Get your supplies in. Now )
*
But as scary as the communists are, you must, constantly, remind yourself that they are there for one reason and one reason only and that is to frighten you. They are a Boogieman, or, more correctly nowadays, Boogiebitches. When you are a child and your parents tell you that Krampus will dine on your liver, burrowing in ass first, unless you quit tormenting your little sister, you comply out of fear.
*
For those of you unfamiliar with Krampus, as I was until just a few years ago, he is basically an evil Santa. There are no rewards from him, only punishments ( although accounts differ, some having him as Santa's companion, a stick to the carrot, others have him giving gold, or coal, or worst case, the naughty children are “disappeared” ). Like all the coolest supernatural dudes, he is from Alpine regions in Europe. Something about those dreary cloudy and cold days...
*
Today, your parents have been replaced by Globalists, and the Democrats are the new adult version of Krampus. Democrats want to take away your money, then your guns, then send you to FEMA death camps on a rail car. And if you don't do as Republicans say, those nice capitalists, the Democrats will get you. Who are these father figures, these kindly gents that know better than you, that want to protect you even if they must embellish the dangers outside the window of your snug cabin? Why, the Globalists of course. They WANT you to keep your money, as long as it is a loan from the central bank to start a business.
*
See, they aren't socialists, so they must be good. Loans and debt to be a junior capitalist, having good little communist capitalists to manufacture whatever your company is making, and you are allowed to participate in the American Dream. Which is the global dream, but we can just gloss over that. The globalists aren't socialists, you understand, so when they call for diversity it is the good kind, manufacturing competition. It isn't the bad kind which is fuzzy brown foreigners in your town. That is the fault of the Democrats. Everything is their fault.
*
Of course, if you follow the money, Hilary Clinton gets her funding from, who? Not purple hair cat ladies, who, being socialist, want free crap, and are very poor political donors. From the same people pushing for the “bad” type of globalism, the communist kind. Which are the same people that push for the good globalism, your butt buddy Rothschild. Central bankers. Bankers, who, not being peasant farmers, don't believe in Krampus and so worship Mammon. Who, it turns out, only lets you in heaven if you make over a certain amount of money.
*
Why do you think that the Catholics and Protestants had such bloody battles? It wasn't JUST because the Papists were led by some really corrupt and evil dudes that make the current pope who supports a Ebola bearing Congolese underground railroad and preaches Gore Warming to obscure the knowledge of the Grand Solar Minimum look like a piker in comparison, trying to protect their empire. It wasn't JUST merchants forming a middle class and threatening the nobility. It was also the bankers stepping back into power, fighting the religious and government monopolies that didn't need the bankers.
*
Why do you think Protestantism was bankrolled and had a fighting chance against the power centers of the day? If you say, “capitalism”, you haven't been more wrong since you whacked off into a sock looking at the Sears ladies underwear section. Capitalism as it has always been practiced ( as opposed to how it has always been preached ) was about the bankers being in charge. Protestantism is America immediately led to our national character being rightfully identified as money grubbing and greedy, rather than pious. The British and French animosity had more to do with religion than nationalism, which tied into who controlled the government.
*
Do you really believe it was an accident that our first Catholic president was the one so publicly assassinated? Look, I'm not saying one religion was better than the other, or that Protestants were evil like the bankers, or that the Catholic Church were the good guys. I'm not saying I don't like the idea of capitalism as it has been sold to the public, or that some form of collectivism is better. I'm saying that evil dudes of all descriptions lie about their quest for power, lie about who or what they represent and lie about not screwing you as they use you as a puppet.
*
You just need to understand that the same people that lie to you so you'll support capitalist globalism also lie that the enemy is communist globalism ( either way, globalism wins, right? ). The bankers may or may not lose power as the petroleum diminishes, but their fight to retain power will be as brutal and vicious to the average peasant-that is you and me if you are part of the 90%- as it was during the bankers last bid for power. All the money in the world doesn't matter to these people, because you can only consume so many calories or snort so much blow or boff so many Ladies Of The Night. It is about POWER. And they have seven billion foot soldiers to die in that fight on their behalf.
*
In the coming fight between decentralizing forces trying to survive on local resources and centralizing bankers trying to retain the old paradigm, in the long run the bankers lose. Money needs surplus. Feudalism is a system inherently suited to lack of surplus ( for instance, guilds discourage wasteful competition and land as wealth/power eliminates the need for money ). If your view of the future still incorporates science fiction levels of surplus energy, see the above on never being more wrong. Continued tomorrow

  1. I was contemplating suicide and then read, "you haven't been more wrong since you whacked off into a sock looking at the Sears ladies underwear section."

The old Chinese lady sharing the rental home told me to stop laughing so loud.

    1. Glad you enjoyed. Not sure where this stuff comes from. Bless the Muse.

    2. Old Chinese lady LOL.

Years ago, I was told of, by a homeless gal, to old time Bay Areans you'll remember the gal who was permanently posted in front of that financial place on University Avenue in Palo Alto, eternally trying to get back to N. Dakota ....

Anyway, she told me of a place in Mountain View that was $50 a week for a small room, just large enough for a bed and a dresser, that always smelled like Chinese food because it was run by, and full of, Chinese people.

I was never able to weasel the actual location out of her though.

And this points out a major thing that chaps my hide about "my" white people. Everyone else knows how to work together, so that unless he's an epic fuck-up, even an old Chinese guy will be able to find a bunk bed to rent and won't be living outdoors.

    3. It is the war to separate us and light a fire under our hate for each other ( male v female, old v young, rich v poor, educated v high school grads ). Our culture was attacked, with financing and support. Perhaps it started with FDR, and the deaths by malnutrition ( not sure I'd go as far as "famine" ), that allowed such easy attack. But it is a bit hard to blame the individuals for the culture redesign.

  2. Burrowing in ass first. Now that's funny. Not sure if Krampus was burrowing in with his ass as a drill bit, or if he was burrowing into YOUR ass, either way is still hilarious.

I walked into my brothers room one time bare footed and stepped on a sock and almost cut my foot off. When ever my mother wanted to see the sears catalog she always knew she could find it under my brothers rack.

Ya know, them bankers can use me all they want, and so can anyone else, as long as they pay my fee. No pay? No use. Sorry. I'm kinda selfish that way. Other than sales tax, drivers license, and license plate, they get nothing from me. If I could figure out how to eliminate those 3 things without going to the cage, I would.

I've been scarce lately. Not just from here, everywhere. I'm kinda burned out on everything. Nothing on the web excites me any more. It's all just a load of pablum and bores me to tears. Besides, even though it's in the 20's outside, I keep finding more and more stuff to do that is either useful or entertaining, so there is less time left for internet fakery. Remember, this is all going to go away someday soon, so think of it as "training" for the future. If you are addicted to anything IT, for any reason at all, the withdrawals will be overwhelming - perhaps even suicidal for many. Meatspace baby. Anyone up for some cold weather gun training? In the dark? Come on over to my place about 6pm with your shooters and let's get at it.

    1. I know I'm on the Web too much, and don't really like it, but most writing has fallen so hard on standards it is better most times to watch YouTube for topical info. I went seven years with almost no Internet. I enjoyed it. I don't think I'll withdrawal at all. It will be a relief. But I hear what you are saying. Just got done visiting with the NOL's daughter, and she was telling me about how most people she knew were living near completely virtual. Like, "candle parties" and "book clubs" not even face to face anymore, but online. I don't much care for people, but online is far worse.

    2. I remember how nice is was when there was "only" 250 million living here. Imagine how nice it will be when it is just a few million, total?

    3. Yeah, I remember that it wasn’t really all that many years back, when most people didn’t yet suck. But I’d put the 80’s as the cutoff point for that. By the early 90’s, I remember that many people started becoming what is known today as politically correct, woke, etc. Then you had to watch every little thing that you said. Heck, I even remember liberals ripping on gays :D But now if you even look cross sighted at one, you’re a “homophobe”, “bigot”, etc.

No privacy either. Camera’s everywhere, credit card records for all purchases, the cell phone that nearly everyone has, pinging every tower that it can connect to along the way. So let’s say you just go to town. Let’s say you just drive through without stopping. They know that you were there. It would be very difficult to pull off a crime today. Consider the suggestions above, if you plan on it, and you can thank me later :D

    4. I think the final straw, at least nationally, tripping us over to PC Intolerant, was the war on smokers. I might be wrong-that is what I seem to remember the most. Hollywood might have been earlier but I don't think many took it seriously.

    5. Right Jim. It was a lawyer caste that pulled a gangster shake down of a legitimate business enterprise (tobacco, friggin human choice product) for billions., that were funneled to special interests and .govs. A form of redistributive financial ass rapes, simply put.

      Delete
    6. Yes, purely financial. But it did give a victory to the modern day Victorian forces of social change. Strange, how Prohibitionists, alcohol and drugs and guns, failed by and large, but the smokers lost virtually overnight.

  3. Off topic. Came across this interesting channel last night. It dawned on me that there could be a lot good applicable survival advice here. When I was nearing the end of my employment (I didn’t know it was near the end though) I actually considered such an option to save money and get ahead. I lived outside of the area where I lived, and motel costs were eating me alive. At first I thought that this dude was either homeless, or semi-homeless. Turns out he’s just a weird enough kinda guy that he actually enjoys doing this sort of thing :D I was amazed at all of the crap that he pulled out of that Canadian Forces surplus IMP (Equivalent of MRE). One thing I can say for certain. Canada is not a good place to be homeless. This dude has a set of stones on him for sure.

In either event, the key take away here was that everything that he had here, he got cheaply from Canadian Tire (It’s kinda like a general purpose hardware store up there, that sells much more than tires; say like the equivalent of our Harbor Freight)

Oops. Sorry. Meant to say worked outside of the area that I lived. Those stupid little typo’s are very annoying!

    2. I saw that too! He would be warmer if he had a shelter two tarps thick with some air between them and maybe a poncho liner or reflectix on the inside wall. If he carried a white one and a brown/green one he could switch which one was on the outside by season.

    3. Of course, how stealthy was he with the camera light glaring away?

    4. 12:28 here Jim. I ended subscribing to his channel. I watched this one last night:

Urban Stealth Camping Beside Campground Closed For The Winter (28 min)

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_EBGwqGJbk

It appeals to me, but I also feel that there is some good survivalist tips that can be gleaned from his videos. He mentions that he pays very little for his equipment, and buys practically everything from Canadian Tire. I came very near doing this myself, when I was working poor. This dude just does it for kicks, but it’s still kind of a hoot to watch. Sorta like that dude the Hobo, from Rancho Costa Nada, that actually provides paid tours, to bored yuppies, to hop freight trains.

      Delete
    5. He mentions just using the cheapo equipment. One wonders how long that would last. But I agree, good stuff ( PS-who doesn't like canned-well, pouched-peaches? Another communist? )

      Delete
    6. Yeah, I noticed that he uses a lot of the MREs, or rather the Canadian equivalent, the IMP. I wonder if he gets those from Canadian Tire, and for how much? He must get them cheaply, since he’s on a strict budget. I remember when you could still get the old C rations fairly cheaply. But I heard that they tasted terrible, compared to the MREs. I’d just substitute the over the counter equivalent if it were me (i.e. Au Gratin potatoes, cup a soup, cream of wheat, oatmeal, etc).

For defense, against predators, “two legged or four” he uses bear spray. Canada has shitty gun laws. But let’s face it, if you got caught carrying even here in a park like that, you’d be in deep doo doo, particularly here in Commiefornia.

The dude has some stones. I camped once in Mendocino (Lake Pillsbury, 1800’ elev) in the winter time. It wasn’t a lot of fun, but there was no one else in the park besides us :D

    7. C-Rats tastes just as bad as MRE's, but I will give them their due-they do taste better than the substitute items you list.

  4. Soap. Re-watched Fight Club the other day, and was thinking about it (already make candles). Then The Mrs. said she was interested, too.

So, soaping we will go. Probably this winter. But we won't get our fat in the same place as they did in the movie . . .

    2. Just an inquiry of anyone or Jim. I was thinking of using "gulf wax" canning wax as an anti rust or dirt sealant on exteriors of mechanical fasteners (nuts, threads, bolt heads, etc) for outdoor applications such as auto - road salts!, ag outdoor implements, etc. Maybe as a cosmoline type sealant for deep sleep weaponry. Any thoughts appreciated, thanxs.

  5. Even with the Woke Pope and the unresolved pedo priests, I still cannot be too harsh ( compared to my usual judgmental standard ) with the Catholic Church. They did provide a darn fine education my Jr. High years, and on a shoestring. In the 70's.

  6. Jim and Mr. GSniper are very correct. I have also developed a certain nauseous malaise due to the near constant drone of all of those modern nuisances and annoyances that intrude into my life and world. I mind my own business and lay low, but it is nearly inescapable. There is certainly health and state of mind detrimental effects. I am at least old schooled and embrace a near analog lifestyle. I must choke on it all while dwelling on the societal borders for it's modernity conveinances living, but getting ever closer to a leap off to a Ted Kazinski type retreating to the hinterlands. A pulling of the plug come collapse will be refreshing. I will just to have to await longer for the new improved Bisonia pamphlets to be delivered by the kevin costner postman type of courier post apoc.
