impotent leo

IMPOTENT LEO
There are two things to keep in mind when it comes to the Powers That Be and their ability to suppress dissent. One, they are doing a great job but it will only work in peacetime. And two, people underestimate their opponent while at the same time overestimating their own ability. This was brought to mind as we discussed gun control in the comments and I observed a tendency to buy the hype of governmental abilities. I pointed out the massive fear porn generated by thermal imaging and how it was way overblown.
*
Look, it does no one any amount of good to underestimate the governments fear and hatred you you, a lowly citizen. They are like a timid housewife scared witless by a mouse as they shriek in abject terror, throw the kitchen chair at the rodent, run screaming from the domicile, and call in a orbital thermonuclear strike to assure complete destruction of the threat. Granted, if the government sets its sights on you, you are truly and utterly humped in the drive thru ( remember that one? “They Hump You In The Drive Thru!” ). But otherwise, they are near impotent. Not “important”, “impotent”.
*
Not so impotent that they cannot mess up your day. If they find you and surprise you- so don't be getting a swelled head and beat on your chest and start spouting off that line from the movie “Pulp Fiction” ( And I Will Strike Down With Great Vengeance...) and think your AR carbine with FLIR scope makes you a mighty defender of freedom. Discretion is the better part of valor in this matter. But OVERALL, in the great scheme of things, IN GENERAL, the government is basically a bully with little actual force to back up its bluster.
*
Law enforcement in any age or system of government is 99% consent by the people and 1% efforts of agents of the state. The police are to law enforcement what a lock on a door is to an honest man. They remove temptation from normal people. There is no door that will keep out a determined thief and no amount of police will stop the same. The police are there to keep order by instilling fear if you don't police yourself ( or, far more ideally, if your community doesn't police you-culture is better than conscience in keeping order ).
*
Yet, today, police do not even hold that 1% of control, while at the same time lacking the 99% efforts of society ( without cultural unity how can there be any enforcement of community standards? ). Things are a hot mess in law and order. In this country, we are very close to the situation seen in Britain where police chase Wrong Thinkers rather than real criminals, while the elites go about running pedophile rings unmolested by law enforcement. And the people, if they protest either situation, are ignored or persecuted.
*
We laugh at England, trying to ban knife possession, at the same time we allow leftist attacks on the law while denying the protection of the same to any right wingers. This isn't difficult to understand, as it is simply running out Divide And Conquer to its logical conclusion. It also explains how the police are now run. They are timid little pussies opening fire at the slightest danger ( semi-auto high capacity goodness! ), ganging up on grandma's with a wrong address warrant, and getting rubber stamped by all courts to do so. Because the police have so little actual power, they overreact.
*
The government itself has so little power that it overreacts to any perceived threat, and its LEO's are the same way. This makes them especially dangerous, but it also points out why they will also be such an easy opponent. While you must fear becoming a target, don't buy their bullspit which is merely propaganda trying to puff up their abilities. If the government wants your red flagged guns, sure, they WILL find them. But don't think they are flying around finding every single buried gun with ground penetrating radar. For every criminal they capture, nine get away free. Why is their technology so fearsome with this level of ability?
*
Look at the paper tiger US military. More training is devoted to political correctness than fighting, and more money goes to institutionalized corruption than workable equipment. The fierceness of military technology is mostly selling the American public on the high price tag of the military industrial complex. That the police are being militarized is cause for celebration, not dread. When your military cannot defeat little brown dudes in black pajamas or little brown dudes herding goats, the more the police act like the military the more they won't be able to defeat little Deplorable dudes.
*
The fact that the police need to gang up to do anything makes them MORE vulnerable, not less. The only reason they don't get their asses handed to them now is because they stay out of areas deemed too dangerous ( you read headlines like “Swedish police declare city blocks No Go Zones”. Hell, the US taught them that tactic, decades ago ), leaving law enforcement duties to the gangs. Yes, occasionally they make an appearance en masse. It is all Kabuki Theater. The police don't have control of large areas of this country, both urban and rural. Stop quacking in your boots like a little bitch.
*
Respect what they can do, on occasion, more by accident than design, in case it is directed at you, but don't buy into the bluster and hype of omniscience. If a cop stops you, by all means kiss their ass. Request bare skin if necessary. If you are citizen quivering in fear, they might allow you to go about your business of supporting them without question. Never directly challenge them and never, EVER, make the mistake of thinking you have ANY rights. You don't. The Bill Of Rights? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Bill Of Rights!
*
Don't try be be a jailhouse lawyer. Lawyers don't know the law today, the number of statutes so numerous. If you are so foolish as to remind a cop he doesn't know crap about the law, he will remind you what a Taser feels like. Simply never say anything, just do it respectably. Even a public defender, who is completely in bed with the prosecutor and judges, is a better bet than you talking to the LEO's. But, when it comes time to fight ( and of course I do not advocate you starting it, or even engaging in it if possible ), realize you are on far more even ground.
*
When the police do not have you surrounded and unarmed, they lose their entire advantage. THEY must remain high profile, and you do not. They must wait for reinforcements in order to conduct a frontal assault. You may remain a guerrilla, acting alone and hence having no fear of being used as a bargaining chip by a captured and tortured ( or turned Quisling ) cell member ( cell as in organization ). When looked at from a purely military standpoint, the police are nearly completely impotent.
*
The police today being out of control and hyper aggressive is allowed for the simple reason that it is a fear tactic. Just as a lone Japanese soldier patrolling with a bayonet was so feared he was mostly avoided and complied with, SWAT teams killing kittens and old men targeted under red flag laws serves the very simple purpose of forcing compliance through fear. But the fact that the government must do this means that they are massively understaffed and mostly unsupported by the citizenry. They are telegraphing their impotence, to those listening with reason rather than emotion. Try to keep a balanced perception on this.
*
P.S.-to any LEO reading this. Yes, I fear you. I honestly do. I KNOW you can kick my skinny punk ass. I am under no delusions that I am a mighty soldier compared to you. All I'm saying is I could be a little cheating weasel if needs be. Not that I want to, but assuredly other people do. I'm timid and won't try anything-they are not, and will. Please be smart and surrender your pension if it ever gets to the point of armed insurrection. I respect your efforts at Keeping The Peace, so don't lose legitimacy by joining the army of occupation. Because you'll be screwed financially anyway if it gets to that point and you are just needlessly endangering yourself. Hugs and kisses!

Good post and advice. My boy next door and mid-western looks/mannerisms, go far in this regard. I would say that the only time that you might want to consider the jail house lawyer route, is if the police are trying something unreasonable, such as an unwarranted search. That seems to be common now when a crime goes down, and the police often impose a sort martial law, and forcibly search homes void of a warrant. I picked up “You and the police” by Boston Tea Party some years back. I don’t know if it’s been updated since then, but a few of the reviewers mentioned that if you tried some of those techniques post 911, you’d find yourself in a heap of trouble. There is another, whose title escapes me, that is more recent. But it certainly doesn’t hurt to know the law.

To his credit (And to the astonishment of the police, I’m sure) this seemingly unknowledgeable street black, easily keeps the police in line in this short (6 minutes) video below. But let’s not kid ourselves. The only thing saving his ass here was not his knowledge of the law so much as the fact that it was a high profile setting (tons of witnesses, and I’m sure tons of street and doorbell cams to boot). Otherwise, he’d of ended looking like Stephon Clark, and wound up in boot hill (Okay, well, whatever the equivalent of boot hill is, for urban blacks :D )

    1. I think most of Boston T Party's writings are as dated as his Gun Bible. Too bad he didn't continue-hell of a mind.

  3. The way to deal with LEO's is to stroke their delicate, pussy ego's. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in 30 years, but I have been pulled over a half-dozen times for speeding since.

My schtick is to pull over on the shoulder as far as possible, even if the tires are in the ditch and on the grass. This makes them think that you care about 'officer safety'. Then I get my billfold out immediately so they don't see me 'reaching' for anything. I roll the windows down and turn on the dome light if after dark. When they approach, I immediately admit guilt ("I'm sorry, officer, I am late for work and that's why I was speeding. I shouldn't have done it").

If you let them know that you think they are The Man, they will probably let you go with a warning.

  4. I think there is LEO simmering resentment that their actions are now viewed under a microscope then they were in the past. Similar to public school teacher's being evaluated on how well their students pass the end of the year tests (unmotivated students who have no desire to score well screw up the results and the TEACHER is blamed more than the student).

Part of my day is patrolling with the dogs.
We look for squatters, their trash and sewage and needles.

Moving them off our property is our responsibility. Our duty.

Telephone conversations with dispatchers for Law Enforcement Officials always go one way:
"We can put your request in the que, but priority calls are number one."
    Why bother paying taxes.

    We are on our own.

I enlist any astute Minionites that are tech savy and better plugged in to go forth and carpet bomb the internet with Jim's blog writings reference this one. May just actually save a few lives, and pull people back from the edge of the stupidity cliff.

  7. LEO like any org. Has 90% mediocre suck ass staff, 9% middling performers but not nearly reliable, and 1% that are shooters and get shit done. In Vegas we have baller cops that shoot scumbags through their windshield in hot pursuit with glowing red iron brake rotors, but then again we have the atypical lard ass second chins and dike slut battalions, like anywhere else. Just tailor your "messaging and signalling" to that one random card out of the deck you got dealt. Jeez Vegas analogy, the influences to culture, maybe therein lies the crux.

  8. Magnus Opus work here Jim. Just to contribute for any fellow Minionite's tool chest. I, as aged out a bit and gotten a bit salty and expressive with truth sharing, will capitalize on that verbalization. When in a contact with authority figures and a sense of tension or challenge conflict wells up, (animal kingdom squaring off analogy) Use a little "verbal judo" to pre empt and totally default their life experiences, training manual, and stiff arm the assertion of authority beyond the level of what is necessary for the transaction at hand in the first instance. My example (that can be modified per each Minion's script) is to lay into that authority with verbal information missles, to lay down the law, for the law. I strongly loudly communicate: my G.I. background, my managerial and business COMMAND, my concealed carry permit (as a status badge), my home/property ownership, my decades upon decades of residency on my OWNED property, and just for sport throw out a rolling hand gernade as well by emphatically informing that authority figure that 'you' are a "law abiding citizen and not some scumbag". They may not have a grasp of who they are dealing with, so punch them in the chest with some info fast and strong. Use your drill instructor voice, have pre rehearsed verbal statements. Then if it sways things into a balnce or your way and things cool a bit and your not on the asphalt thank them for their hard work out there.

    Just another angle.

    Stay Frosty.

    1. Hmmm, not sure I'd agree that is a great idea. The lawyer can pull that offensive not defensive strategy, but they have juice. You, not so much. Remember, they can shoot you and unless there is a national outcry, usually get away with it.

Yes and no, your giving the tune up up front to that 90% marginals that are mere second responders, showing up after fact when mayhem already raped society, and they are really good at hanging crime scene tape on poles. They are no different than corporate, get em back on the balls of their feet if they are pressing on you for nothing or excessive. If I am in the wrong I'll take the ticket and have it paid up before that cop gets his next direct deposit, no worries. But my dignity or rights, this stage of the game, nope.

  9. Right on target Lord Bison.

LEO will, like an ice floe, begin to melt at the edges (No go zones, far distant rural areas). Eventually like the Romanian police in Ceaucescu's final week(s) will evaporate.
More recently Iraqi Nat'l police & .mil units evaporating in Mosul a city of 500k? when fewer than 1000 ISIL fighters came in on "technical trucks" and buses.
    Serve & protect.....riiiight!

Far bigger threat minions face and which you completely skipped (?) is your neighborhood (or God forbid, family) Judas, AKA The Snitch.
Recall German reunification and the extent to which STASI had so completely surveilled the populace. What was it, something like 30% of GDR folk had a current file. Even husbands and wives spying on one another.

The takeaway from that...first rule of gunclub is don't talk about gunclub or anything else.

The red flag antigun laws being implemented are just Govt outsourcing HUMINT activities. Your broke ass stupid brother-in-law will rat your sorry ass for less than 30 pieces. Dumb bastard would probably do it for a new boat anchor. (Return the favor...know what I mean..?)

Expect the proverbial zero dark thirty SWAT exercise (gotta justify that FLIR!).
BIL might be OK "now" but when po po threatens to arrest him for diddling the 16 y/o babysitter he will throw you under the bus.

Lord Bison you might not be surprised but many minions would be at the number of confidential informants out there. Its amazing how little a tidbit needs to be dangled in front of a CI.
Lots of wickedness out there (& here, too).

    2. Yeah, I’ve noticed for a long time now, that it seems that it takes about 10 police with weapons drawn, for any threat beyond a wheelchair bound, paraplegic shoplifter. Considering the direction that law enforcement has taken in modern times, I’m not too broken up about this change I suppose.

But law enforcement went from this:

(Bill Jordan. 6’4” badass, even when he was older, and one of the fastest men alive with a handgun. Trivia: It was his book, No second Place winner in a gunfight, from which the infamous Claude Dallas, honed his deadly skills).

To this, in about 50 years:

  11. This will end up in a post sometime, but I got pulled over last night coming back to Midwestia. I was speeding. Deserved the ticket. The cop was looking for drunks, so, since my story and paperwork checked out, he said he'd let me off with a verbal warning.

Then, after he handed me back my license, the questioning started. How many bags in the trunk? Didn't I just admit to visiting a place with . . . LEGAL WEED?

Whuuuuut? Didn't he read my anti-ganja post?

I finally got to the point where, after he asked if he could poke around my stuff I said, "Hey, I just wanna get home. It's late."

    He walked off.

I shoulda asked if we could go over to his house first, and let me take a peek there, first.
