christian militia tribal chants

CHRISTAIN MILITIA TRIBAL CHANTS

Now, while I often diverge from topics doom or gloomy and follow my muse and write some different off the wall stuff, it still amazed me the other day when the leading unnamed survival blog devoted most of its space to all the rants and chants against the legalization of fudge packing/pillow biting and plastic penile pumping/carpet licking.  Granted, that is some pretty screwed up stuff.  It is one thing to turn a blind eye ( don’t ask, don’t tell ) so as to recognize individual rights, even if it does endanger social cohesion ( something Libertarian Rights activists have no conception of, as much as I love them anyway ), but quite another to encourage and sanctify behavior that harms society ( to hopefully forestall any rabid rainbow coalition comments, I’ll remind you that children reared outside a male/female parental unit do NOT make good members of society ).  Still, all that said, why all this hot air on a survival blog?  Do they think this is the straw that breaks the camels back, insofar as “western civilization crumbling”?  Dudes, that happened SOOOOO many decades ago.  Women’s Lib, the welfare state, gun control, the war on drugs, etc.  What made it so irritating was reading a waste of trees book “One New York Man’s Journey To Off Grid Living In Montana” by Rich Scheben, just the night before.  The first fifty out of 175 pages, he is still ranting heavy against political correctness.  He finally gets to his advice on buying land- “it’s okay to get into debt for that”.  Gee, thanks, after you just got done telling me how we are screwed economically.  I go from reading about evil PC’s dudes in a off grid book to reading about evil homo dudes in a survival blog.

*

But, I didn’t get mad.  I actually had an epiphany.  The leading survival blog isn’t even about survival.  That was where I was so wrong.  I get pissy because most of the advice is stupid, when I’m looking at all this the wrong way.  This is THE blog uniting the Christian Militia.  It isn’t about prepping.  It is about observing and maintaining all the customs and rituals demanded for any tribal cohesion.  To any outsider, all customs look bizarre.  To the insider, they are as righteous and rigid as religious dogma, and for a perfectly valid tribal survival reason.  It doesn’t matter if your tribe loves or hates homosexuality, what matters is that loving or hating it makes the tribe stronger.  Applying logic?  Suicidal, if it goes against the tribal customs.  Accepting any dictate without question is what a tribe does.  Not because the rule makes sense necessarily, because they always serve a survival purpose, but also because group cohesion is paramount.  I might think a bunch of holy roller nut jobs are not the kind of neighbors I like, but you have to admire them for being better citizens within their group than the average American.  Looked at from an anthropologic view, their site is not a skills forum, but a tribal gathering place.  Take their advice accordingly.

  1. . . . so that's why I don't read that blog anymore. It's not my tribe.

  3. So what do we - as Libertarian leaning survivalist preppers take as a given tribal knowledge that may not be so???... Hmmm.....
Questioning your and your tribes own assumptions is always a good idea - is that one of my tribes assumptions.... :-/

    1. Question everything...until you can't. Not sure of the dynamics involved in timing the end of experimentation and the start of dogma ( based on fit ideas helping survival ). Question Everything was the start of our cultural unraveling, of course.

  4. Sir Lord BaltimoreJuly 20, 2015 at 3:56 PM

You nailed it this time Lord Bison. Sir Rawles has been veering away from matters relevant to survival for a long time. His new surrogate isn't quite up to snuff. (Though we all know ol' Rawles foray's into fiction are hilariously awful). I find his site irrelevant at this point. If I do venture in his direction it is to read the economic news and odds n sods section. Otherwise, I don't think I need advice on creating a "Covenant Community" or tips on buying a British Ferret Scout Car. I am broke and working-class. Rawles certainly speaks to a certain Alpha demographic of which I do not belong.

    1. The fiction was, just, readable ( except 1st one, which was awesome ). It was formulistic, which was fine. Then, last one, veered terribly over the cliff. Don't know what happened.

  6. Hey James, glad to hear you moved to town and have a chick to distract and occupy your time. A collapse is everyone's fantasy of being free. It won't happen. The powers that be will engineer the collapse or control the collapse.
And then implement the solution. They won't be taken by surprise.
From it they will gain more power. Doesn't matter if its war, economic or peak oil. Who cares.
You can see on a small level what is happening now and it will go worldwide.
Debt defaults, TPP, HUD, integration of nations, mass immigration from the 3rd world to developed nations.
As Cass Sunstein said in a speech in Tel Aviv "we will nudge America towards communism. America needs to be a 3rd world communist country".
This will of course resolve all environmental problems, inequality and racial disparity. The lucky ones will live in mud hits.

    1. A collapse shouldn't include freedom fantasies. A new boss, same as the old boss, will quickly smack us down. The collapse will, however, at least in the long run although I suspect sooner, revert culturally and economically to the historical norm, which should make us a lot more mentally stable. No more pining to live forever ( quality instead of quantity ), no more loving money more than family, no more confusion on gender roles. Etc.

For a bloke who doesn't consider himself religious...I've read something similar to that in the bible.

Apologies James. I was the minion that recommended that book. It was actually refreshing to me to hear someone stand up to the PC masses for change, but as you've mentioned, he carried it a bit too far for what was supposed to be a book about homesteading, so I owe you one.

Well, when I'm no longer unemployed, I will send something your way, perhaps sooner if possible? Yes, I mean it.

    1. Don't worry about it- you could not possibly fathom the amount of crap books I wade through on a regular basis. I too enjoyed his stand. Up to a point. And it wasn't that that hacked me off so much as the disregard for debt for land. So, all is good with us. Peace.

  9. Good post.

I gave up reading 'the other site' about six months ago. Nothing new and there are just so many articles you can read about freeze dried caviar before you want to hurl.

  10. Yeah it is obvious that inside the American redoubt which I refer to as Chrisjanistan people like myself are not welcome. I am a vet, constitution loving type but since I am Buddhist I am not welcome there.

    2. Oh come on, nobody hates Buddhists. They aren't empire-builders (not in this world) and don't mind living in desolate crap-holes like the Himalayas. You had me on Constitution-conserving Veteran.

But what do I know about the Redoubters, from Satan's Hollow of Rainbow Nekkid-bike-riding legal-pot Portlandians, or the rest of the crowded I-5 corridor?

I'm much more concerned about my neighbors of illegal mexi-heritage vs. those of the domestic mixed-blackness, and perpetually-scamming Russian escapees (claimed to be Jews in the 80's?). If my East Asian neighbors are criminals, they are the kind who are clean, neat, and respectful good-seeming folk.

    4. There was an article that Rawles wrote on his site that basically stated that he could bring himself to accept the different flavors of Christianity but he could not bring himself to accept other faiths, and Buddhism was one that he mentioned. This is paraphrasing what he wrote as my memory is not exact but I did find it.....short sighted.

  11. What SixBears said above.

I dont really hit up too many survival blogs (or podcasts) anymore, because 'they're not my tribe'. Spirko has his 'Ants', Rawles has his Christian Militia, Creekmore has his 'Wolfpack', etc. Of course, Lord Bison has his 'White Trash Irregulars' (my tribe).

I laughed out loud when reading Sir Lord Baltimore's comment regarding his recoiling after reading about 'building a Covenant Community' and a 'British Ferret Scout Car'. WTF?

Yes, I relate better to digging a pit to live in outside of Elko, Nevada with perfect hair. Strange as it may sound, its true.

That's just it James. The family unit was already long dead and buried; feminism having already put a knife through its heart. Ultimately gay marriage will have little effect in that department.

But normal folks don't have to condone or support it either. I will never accept something that goes against nature as normal, regardless of a handful of perverts in the supreme court (Two of whom were carpet munchers; no conflict of interest there right?) legislating it as such.

Only serves to illustrate just how sick and devolved that western civilization has become.

As far as all the others go. Just as there was no shortage of idiots during the Civil War, fighting to hand more power over to the federal government, there was also no shortage during the counter culture movement fighting to hand even more over.
