war on drugs because we hate you 2

WAR ON DRUGS BECAUSE WE HATE YOU 2
Heavy government control in a tribal system works, as it ensures survival. Heavy government control works in a nation, if and only if the control mechanisms align with preexisting cultural norms. In the Land Of The Free, you had strict laws against divorce, race mixing, contraception, even alcohol consumption and the like. This was not seen as a bad thing, as that was what the culture had taught us. It certainly was not a very free system if looked through the lens of those laws. So, here were well armed men, told who they could marry or when they could drink.
*
And they were fine with it. They were fine with increased socialism, as it was seen from the perspective of tribe. Even I make the mistake of pointing to when we could have rebelled and won, for a completely free country, but back then folks didn't want complete freedom. They just wanted a life, a job to support a family. Which is all we want now. Freedom is too esoteric of a concept for most. They just want to be left alone to live a simple life. Being free can screw that up nicely.
*
Culture is nothing more than adaptations that work at keeping your particular tribe alive. Tribal and cultural dictates are never about freedom as much as control. And the only time freedom from the nation is required is when the laws do not align with culture. “Freedom” is just an excuse, or justification. It is winning soft power in a struggle. So let us not fool ourselves. Now, in a country that had a fair system of control and distribution, which was accepted by the people because it was fair, drug laws are fine.
*
Yes, as a matter of fact, habitual drug users for the most part are losers and they disrupt the social order. When the middle class shared in the spoils of our Great Colonial War, harsh sentences against marijuana were fine, while at the same time it was okay to drink like a fish and be a danger on the road ( this is why it was socially unacceptable to drink before a certain time, so the odds were the kids were out of cars and in the home ). White America, which WAS 85% of the population, were a VERY homogeneous group.
*
You smoked, you drank, you served in the military, but you certainly did not do drugs. That was for the gangs of Blacks and Latino's. So harsh laws were fine for drugs. It wasn't a racial thing, it was a tribal thing. Hippies doing drugs were not acceptable to the “squares”, because these were normal people upholding primarily cultural laws. The actual stance of the government was secondary. Drugs were not culturally approved. You couldn't be part of Normal America Tribe if you did drugs. And that made it really easy to start the War On Drugs.
*
It had massive widespread approval, as it mostly does today. Even I am not opposed to drug prohibition, per se. IF it was still the government JUST backing up cultural norms with the force of law. But it no longer is, and hasn't been for some time. It is the excuse the government needs to crush dissent. It was the original War On Terror. For instance ( let me give you a good example before I lose your attention ), it is rather common for the cop pulling you over to plant drugs in your car. For something as simple as failing to show the proper amount of obsequiousness.
*
It used to be a general rule that 10% of all organizations were comprised of “bad apples”. The lazy, or greedy, or incompetent. Well, obviously, it is a lot worse as the collapse picks up speed and ALL organizations institutionalize corruption ( as a survival mechanism ). Another aspect of the collapse is that folks seek tribe. To a much greater extent than before. It is natural to try to group up for safety as well as peace of mind. So, those people in that organization become a lot more, let us say, “incestuous”.
*
They protect each other. They hold the wall against outsiders. Right or wrong, “their” people must be protected. That is what tribes do. So when a cop screws with you, his partner goes along with it even if he knows you are innocent. His Chief goes along with it. Your public defender goes along with it, and the judge is on their side. NOT the side of justice, you simple hump. Not only that, not only are drugs used against you as an excuse ( and look at all the laws against drugs now used for other things, like RICO ), the “justice” system protects REAL drug users.
*
It is a little thing called Job Security. And it is a real thing, because anymore with the economy like it is, if you aren't clawing and scratching to keep your job, you WILL end up in the lower classes. And we all know if you are lower class you are screwed, by everybody. So, yeah, the cop is going to lie. The judge isn't interested in your guilt, and etcetera. Which is the only reason I'd say we need to repeal the laws against drugs. It feeds a corrupt system and it suppresses freedom. Freedom FROM corruption. The laws against drugs are used to screw all the normal people it used to protect with those very same laws.
*
Oy, but Jim, look at all the crackheads and needle users and petty crime because of drug use. Yeah, I'm looking at it. The harsher the penalties for drugs, the more I see drug use. The more I see drug use, the more obvious it is that the government tasked with their control is one of the main beneficiaries of that prohibition. Whatever evil we will see from drug legalization will be far less than what we are seeing now. But, ooh, Mr. Carter, let's just reform the justice system! Yeah, I'm okay with that. Are you okay with jailing EVERY single person today involved in that completely corrupted system?
*
If that is too shocking for you, are you ready to fire every single cop, lawyer and judge? Didn't think so. You want your cake and eat it too. You want to give the police state MORE power, to use against those who don't do drugs, or even those who are functioning addicts. All because, what, they are overwhelming the medical industry? The medical industry is completely hosed today, from corruption at the very top. The bankers and insurance industry and the federal oversight agencies. Junkies taking beds is the LEAST of the medical industries problems.
*
Sometimes, you can be too close to the problem. I'll just leave it at that.

  1. Correct Jim. If there was to be a new form of government structure established (redone post collapse etc) then the first real order of business is to fire, demote, and eliminate a lot of the useless turds of government, or resource draining no value society structures. In addition to deconstructing the police state and created crime wars against their own citizenry. There will need to be many other jackasses turned out into the streets as they will be rendered useless. Schools privatized for higher quality and way lower costs, as an example. Most folks have their own ideas of what needs to be done. At least the privations and extreme hard times of a collapse will incentivize people to react (finally) against outdated detrimental and negative legacy items. (It will be like the old times radio spot by paul harvey: "now for the rest of the story".)

    1. Once resources are limited, far less of the built in waste is even possible-honesty will be forced due to need.

  2. Yep, too close to the problem. Like all the other fake news dramas. Take a pimple of a problem and blow it out of porportion like a galactic cataclysm, so as to self assign as saviors and controllers of resources garnered for the new crisis.

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

    1. In a way, that is their job-not letting a crisis go to waste. But, anyone?, Bueller?, perspective? Balance? Intellectual pride?

  3. News all minions can use....
Murderously corrupt shit dirty cops charged with murder of a couple during faked up drug warrant raid.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/23/us/houston-police-drug-raid.html

The 1st dirty cop is having 12,000 (?) of his previous warrants/arrests reviewed.
    Think about that!

How many innocent people's lives & their families were destroyed by this sack of shit?
Police Chief (& sanctuary city advocate) Art Acevedo, previously of Austin PD, was was caught in a lie during early days following the raid.
Sorry ass mercenary moves from city to city playing the affirmative action hiring game, has no scruples and looks the over way.
Hope the two cops have a short stay in prison....if you catch my drift.

This is what a certain tribe looks like that you will have to confront in the coming Endarkenment.
    Embrace the suck.

  4. Another great article. Good overview perspective.

Most people don't understand that traditional values help that tribe survive.

  5. Ha! Jim is right again with another example of a negative of vehicle ownership. Nevada wants odometer mileage submitted by the owners with annual vehicle registration renewals. (Any reasoning is suspect, a cause of suspicions) A tax by mileage bill did not pass the last legislature, although it will be pushed again. (Two counties with smog checks get odometer logged on form then, all other counties=no smog checks)

I am awaiting the top speed/rpm limiters mandates, fossil fuel sin tax on gas, diesel, cng vehicle registrations. Kill switch mandates so no more running from mr. Police. Cameras placed inside your vehicles at your cost for the privalege of happy motoring or insurance underwriting. And on and on.

    2. Yeah bro, 31 years in this state and it is just going full commievada.

At least the expanses of desert is still a refuge in itself from the clownworld.

Use las vegas review journal newspaper website as at least being owned by adelson (right wing billionaire) it is straighter reporting.

      Cheers.

  6. I'd add that there is a small fraction of the population who thrives on gaming the system. These people are fine with tribal rules keeping the other 99% out of the game. It makes their lives a lot easier. I'm not talking law breakers per se, but those who have learned to navigate the system and use it to their advantage. The worst sink to the bottom and become rule makers. The best float to the top, and usually become uber wealthy. There are also rare gamers who for all intents and purposes escape the system and gain a modicum of freedom. Call it going Galt, or whatever. Not to swell your head, but you've actually done a pretty fair job of it. Tune in, turn on, drop out. Leary wasn't that far off base. He just got a little distracted by step two.

  7. There may be a sharp snapping back by a society that lashes back against clown world culture poisons. That r/k natural order darwinian course. Once collapse pressure intensifies folks may go all martial with all attributes. I expect bigly street brawls and retributive actions in earnest. Got to get to work on compound reinforcements, and medieval weapons manufacturing. Time is short sports fans.
