NO HAIRCUT FOR YOU
I want to thank the minion that wrote
to me and inspired this article. The
life lived in between. Instead of my
usual question, “are you prepped yesterday to survive tomorrow”, I want to ask
you this. What did you do with your
life? I don’t mean this to be, have you
lived an important life. Fame and
fortune is irrelevant. Mostly because
none of it will matter very shortly, as the current paradigm is destroyed. There very well might be a bottleneck event,
and nothing any of us do will survive as legend on the other side of that.
*
Well, okay, it COULD. The few survivors could have a solar panel
and DVD player, and a copy of The Terminator, and they watch it so many times (
that being the only hard copy they had because the dumb asses thought Streaming
was forever ) that it becomes a bed time story to their kids and in time it
becomes known by one and all that all these wonderful artifacts they are
digging up was from a time when Skynet tried to kill humanity ( but was
defeated by Windows Blue Screen Of Death, presumably ).
*
But the fame of the actor
Arnold? No, that matters not and was not
preserved at all. Fame is fleeting and
fortune fickle. Unless you store silver
or gold, but even then you cannot take it with you and your lazy ingrate spawn
get it all. One doesn’t imagine you get
a portrait in the hallway for all your generosity. And even if we don’t have a bottleneck event,
or, it isn’t bottleneck as in historically when ten thousand humans survive,
globally, but it is a bottleneck in relation to our current population, even
then your fame won’t survive the Dying Time.
*
So, because folks were kind of busy
surviving, and created their own hero’s out of that, your fame currently means
dingus. And even if you save gold and
silver ( and yes, AFTER everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING down to ten
years of clothing and shoes and back-up PV panels and dozens of nail clippers
kind of attention to detail, THEN you can buy silver. And I can’t reiterate this enough. One day it will be worth more than today’s
gold in purchasing power. The only
question is if you live to see it ), in your life it probably means little.
*
The only thing that really matters,
after the basics of life such as food, shelter, protection and health are taken
care of, is your time. Perhaps you don’t
realize what kind of gift that is, historically speaking. Ever since those bastards started crapping in
a hole and throwing a particularly hearty specimen of grain in there to make up
for the scarcity of wild plant gathering endangered by overpopulation, men have
barely had any spare time to themselves.
Oh, it isn’t dusk to dawn toil, not by any means. You have time off.
*
But you don’t have time to enjoy
life. You can make the best of life,
enjoy the feast days and visiting with friends on market day. Women socialized as they labored, as did men. When the civilization wasn’t imploding from
overworking the soil, it was a satisfying life.
But you didn’t have the choice to do what you wanted with your life, did
you? Even today, plenty of folks are
still stuck worrying about just getting enough to eat, while trying to avoid
getting AIDS.
*
( A fascinating book, true or not, on
Jim Jones and the fabricated disease, “The Second Holocaust” by Michael
Meiers. At first it seems a bit pricey
for a 150 page book, but it is a condensed version of his earlier book that
sold for over $100. And if you add up
what it would cost to buy the many books he references, it is a steal. It seems that in the 60’s and 70’s, a lot of
mischief was stirred up by a small cast of characters. Jim was the thick of several defining events,
from Diane Feinstein’s rise to power in California, the Milk assassination,
Patty Hearst and CIA mercenaries in Angola ).
*
( He also was a great mind control experimenter,
and had connections with Operation Paperclip Nazis. He took over a former CIA training camp that
was conveniently close to the Venezuela border, which would become
Jonestown. The presence of all the
Americans there also helped finally resolve the border dispute, giving more
land to The Company controlled country.
Jonestown was a duel purpose MK Ultra experiment-testing if suicide was
voluntary- and later the means of testing AIDS against Blacks. It seemed to be a targeted weapon. Again, if you buy into the whole theory ).
*
In a select few areas of this ball of
mud we would only be so lucky to have demolished for an interstellar off-ramp, there is enough looted wealth or mineral
treasure to allow people true choice in how they want to live their lives. Want to travel the globe by Playing
Poor? No problems. Work a monkey spanking job, save up, take
off. Not that this isn’t now rather
dangerous. Our imperial sway has
decreased dramatically since the CIA was running half the world’s
dictators. But, you could work a year,
buy a used sailboat, fix it up just on the pay of odd jobs and sail away.
*
You can buy your own land on mere
weeks of pay and become a hermit the rest of your life. You can start businesses on little but hard
work ( yes, still, even with Leviathan Bureaucracy ). You can even do near impossible things, on
little resources. Say you wanted to be a
veterinarian. I know, right? Because I always dreamed of sticking my arm
up a cows ass. But, hey, different
strokes. You could work a little here,
go overseas to a much cheaper college and get a job working with peasant there.
*
The whole point is the empire allows
its subjects the ability to dream and make dreams come true, all because in
relation to most of the colonies, everyone here gets lots of surplus energy and
wealth. There was a dreadful
artsy-fartsy Oscar Bait movie in the 80’s with Bill Murray. The Razors Edge. The movie stuck with me because the character
worked in a coal mine to be able to afford to go seek enlightenment in India (
or some such. The point was peasant work
in the empire afforded Kings luxuries ).
*
Most of us are blinded to this, as a
tree in the forest. I’m going to cover
that tomorrow. Few of us take advantage
of it. And, my main point here, are you
wasting time prepping when you should be doing what you love instead? I know, you can do both. Sometimes.
But how many of us are so fearful that we aren’t doing what makes us
happy in life? Mainly, that is the fear
of not wallowing in luxury and/or security.
But, all that and more next time.
I know, I wasted a bit of the word count on AIDS, but don’t complain. I
could have tripled that.

Excellent post - well said.
ReplyDeletePurpose. There's the rub.
If we are going to survive, the why of it is as important as the how.
Something I've neglected. I always made fun of the "not just survive, thrive" folks. That is just an excuse to be lazy and wallow in luxury. Don't know how much better "try to survive while listening to your muse" is. :D
DeleteNEGATIVE! you are not wasting time prepping, if that is what "you love" to do. Let's not split hairs here, Jim. Either that Minion is kinda like giving a shit and all in, or he/she is just faking them orgasms wanting to prep, but living in uber 'Merica. When that activity or what not one dabbles in is life and death score keeping, well then, here we are either in or out.
ReplyDeleteIt was more a question, gee, look at my entire life devoted to this prepping thing-did I waste it? I didn't want to focus on the specifics of the one whose idea it was.
DeleteWow Bison. Much impressed! Nice pivot to a neglected but important subject.
ReplyDeleteI can't take any credit for it. A minion got me pondering.
DeleteIn these times of relative abundance, it's amazing how few people do anything truly interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis IS still relatively abundant times. Un-focus from White People Problems, people.
