don't give peace a chance 2

DON'T GIVE PEACE A CHANCE 2
Yesterday I covered how the Federal Reserve Bank lashed out and eliminated JFK when he threatened them, then had its paid for politicians completely eradicate the culture into a divide and conquer so that the popular vote never again elected a President the bankers weren't sure of. Which doesn't make a huge amount of sense, since JFK was from a political dynasty AND was able to be blackmailed. You would think JFK would have been easily controlled. The only thing I can come up with is that by dividing the country one person couldn't rally the popular support against the banks ( as Jackson had done ).
*
What we keep forgetting because the Banker Internationalists use local banks full of inept marshmallow men as fronts is just how evil bankers are. It is just like ex-wife #2, the Baby Momma. She had such a nice rack that you were distracted from her collusion with Lucifer. The bankers are glorified clerks, seemingly weak and non threatening physically. They don't wave around nuclear missiles. But every banker was named Damian as a child, gleefully pulling off the wings from flies and burying kittens up to their necks in front of the lawn mower.
*
I guar-an-damn-tee you. In this country, the portal to Hell itself is in New England, home of Puritans. Everyone makes such a big deal about how evil Muzzies are as a religion, having never met a New England Puritan. Why would people ever meet them? They live in New England, where rational folks never go. You don't think Stephen Kings location for all his horror novels was just accidental, do you? It wasn't because he happened to be born there. Evil springs from the ground there.
*
At first, folks just thought something was in the water, but, no. Hell Portal. Hello! Where were they burning witches? The devil had granted the Puritans Forever Wealth in exchange for their souls, but the joke was on the Devil because they had none. I think they burned White Witches ( White as in Good, not as in Caucasian ) just to appease Lucifer so he would stop pestering them for some souls. There was serious money to be made running rum and African slaves and they couldn't be bothered with his personal problems. Why do you think all these Southern carpetbagger politicians are born in New England?
*
Why do you think they are all buggering children and holding Satanic rituals? Just a repeat of the Witch Burning, modern version. Keep Lucifer away while they weave their tangled webs. Who were the first Industrialists? I submit to you that it wasn't because of the regions hydro power but because the behind the thrones power holders already there had the capital to invest ( from the slavery profits. Slave running LONG before the South supposedly went to war to keep their slaves. Who do you think (s)elected Lincoln? ).
*
The problem the South had was the lack of an industrial base, true, but the bigger problem was that the leadership there were REALLY out of touch. They wanted to fight a chivalrous battle, as gentlemen warriors. Shadows of the knights glorying for the grace of God. Did they realize they were up against Dark Forces of Puritans? No, not the Dark Forces Of Lucifer. That insults the devil. Puritans could make Beelzebub's minions blush with embarrassment, schooling them on real evil. You think I'm hyperbolic. I only embellish slightly to make my point. These humpers ARE from a Stephen King horror novel.
*
Remember, not all American colonists are from the same stock. Different corporate charters were granted by the king for different areas. We were NEVER a harmonious population even at the very start. I wonder from under what rock they got New England settlers, or if they were normal until they arrived and defeated the devil at his own game. Were there golden fiddles involved? Did the Bermuda Triangle actually touch New England? Well, little matter. The simple fact is that today's elite seem to hearken from this Evil Land. I don't even know if these bankers defeated the Rothschild's and hide behind the old name.
*
The Southerners, fancying themselves knights with Darky pages to assist them in their jousts trying to impress the fair maidens, thought their cause just, fought valiantly and considered themselves bested in combat and surrendered. Silly buggers! They never should have fought fair, as they were combating Pure D Evil, yo! How did they not receive the telegraph when Sherman marched to the sea? They already knew Lincoln was without honor, a Mammon worshiper. How many years did their civilians go hungry from deliberate Union starvation scorched earth policies ( PRIOR to Sherman )?
*
How many civilians were killed “in retaliation of terrorist attacks against our brave men in blue”? How many communists did the Union allow to immigrate to fill in their armies? Where did the anti-slavery funders/agitators come from? How could anyone in the Confederate government NOT know what evil scum and villainy they faced? And yet they continued to fight honorably ( yes, I understand there were atrocities on both sides. The difference was that the Union made them policy whereas in the Confederacy they were the result of independent actors ). Why didn't the Confederacy go Full Insurgency?
*
Do I think it would have been successful? Of course. There would have been no more civilian casualties this way, since there were already so many to begin with. Perhaps the Confederate leaders, owning slaves and belonging to the upper classes, could not conceive of delegating their “a-thor-i-tie”. But I do know for certain that when you are fighting evil, you do NOT play by their rules and you don't fight their strengths. Which is exactly what the South did. Just as the Deplorables are doing today. Just like the South, we focus too much on our moral superiority ( it didn't matter the South had slaves. What mattered was they were independent, sovereign states, not beholden to the Federal government ).
*
They knew they were in the right ( you do understand that slavery WAS legal Constitutionally? How could some states punish other states for following the Constitution? Oh, you mean like those states ignoring the fact that we have a 2nd Amendment? ). And for some reason they thought God was on the side of righteousness rather than the side with the bigger battalions. They wore rose colored glasses the whole time. AS ARE WE, NOW! It doesn't matter that we are right. It matters that they are evil. THEY. The evil puke bankers from the New England Puritans.
*
Their communist cadres, acting as brown shirts. Evil. Meaning, they don't fight fair. Ever. They use children as cannon fodder ( to divide and conquer, encourage women to use the children as weaponized financial assets ). Between making it nearly mandatory to take away fathers from the children for financial gain, and at birth abortion ( I don't care for any abortion, but I think it is evil once the brain or nerve endings are formed. No, fundamentalist pukes, I don't believe conception means squat ), children are either raped mentally are outright killed to further the communists agenda.
*
( To say nothing of the evil medical and food practices, or schooling ). And the communists keep gaining ground because we are doing little to nothing. Because we are fighting fair, such as through voting. They change the system by cheating ( judges voting communist to help their cadre buddies, as in legalizing illegal immigration voting ). We keep respecting the system. The system that betrayed us 150 years ago at the behest of the evil banker dudes. The hippies wanted us To Just Give Peace A Chance. All the while, genociding us.
*
That was the slow genocide. Abortions, geriatric opium therapy, getting Whitey to fight the imperial wars, food supply poison, financial destitution leading to drug addiction, suicide fast or slow. Subsidized OtherColor breeding. I hope you enjoyed that. Ready for the Fast Genocide, next?

don't give peace a chance

DON'T GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
I used to sympathize with Hippies. You know, laid back, smoking the ganj, not bothering anyone. It fit into my Libertarian mindset of my innocent youth. Knowing a lot more now, I realize those long hair dirty humpers were just the commies Brown Shirts and the “squares” waving the flags in the '60's really should have shot all of them and let God sort them out. Not that it would have done any good, since we lost the culture war before Vietnam even happened ( and a lot of us didn't even realize it, then or now ).
*
I almost think the Deep State was unleashed upon the land by a vengeful and full of righteous fury Federal Reserve Bank when JFK tried to usurp their power. Look, they said, shoot this mother humper so full of lead that magic bullets are falling off him all the way to the hospital and your group can be in charge of the ground operations while we handle finances. And the Deep State, the blue blood east coast Yale bastards from the Intelligence communities ( our version of the KGB, in tone and temperament ), were happy to oblige.
*
I don't think it WAS the military industrial complex ( another reason I think not is that they never would have allowed the Kevin Costner movie out-isn't Oliver Stone a commie, anyway? ) that killed Kennedy, but rather the US-KGB. The military is full of class conscience douche bags, seeing nothing wrong with using cattle fodder against the colonists, but at least they are patriotic. Those Intelligence boys are just elitist globalists. They thought America should be in charge of the globe, but once that failed they were more than happy to sell out the country. The military, if in charge, would not have done that.
*
Right after Kennedy was killed ( don't get me wrong, he was a typical politician and garners zero admiration from me other than he was a ballsy dude-he was certainly NOT the gallant Sir Lancelot the myths portray ), the silver money was discontinued ( the law JFK passed was taking dollar creation out of the Feds hands and using silver to back Treasury currency rather than Federal Reserve Notes ). Vietnam started in earnest ( keep the young bucks overseas to prevent home growth civil unrest ). Women's Lib and The Pill grew hand in hand to begin the Gender War.
*
LBJ boosted the Geriatric Independence movement started with Social Security with free medical care for seniors ( to cripple extended families ), let the Blacks off their leash to begin home grown terrorism, and Chappaquiddick Kennedy began the importation of OtherColors. For five or six years, there was a concentrated effort to utterly destroy the WASP culture. And it was all over but the crying, about that fast. Once the fait accompli culture destruction, the gold standard was abandoned in favor of the Black Gold Saudi Standard and the economy collapsed.
*
Which nicely occupied those WASPS who might have objected too strenuously and violently reacted ( to be clear, WASP is probably a poor description, as Catholics had been assimilated for a century by then, after the Irish, Poles and Italians were imported. Still, better than “White Culture”, to avoid the Wrong Think Police ). If you no longer have a job to drive to in a car without gasoline, you tend to fight with the ghetto Blacks trying to mug you instead of the politicians who caused all the trouble. It was a masterful Social Engineering coup.
*
It was also about the last of the national social engineering, because there was the planned implosion and disintegration and the elite could really no longer control the Frankenstein they created, except through financial manipulation ( but, no longer social manipulation ). But the seeds they planted, by subverting higher learning and training a communist cadre ( again, the patriots and WASP's were over in Vietnam-those wanting to belong to the new world order got college deferments. You don't think that was by accident, do you? ), carry through to today.
*
And, again taking a linguistic shortcut, it wasn't even really communism for its own sake but rather globalism for the sake of the bankers. Only the bankers pull any levers today. But why? Because that is all they CAN do. Allow me to take a very short ( by my standards ) detour into energy and Peak Oil ( then I'll return to economics and politics-I promise ). Social Engineering as we know its modern practice ( it has always been done but differently ) got its start with the convergence of easy money, oil age economics, mass communications and Madison Avenue manipulation.
*
It is a product of petroleum energy and that industry. The First World War was the beginning of the paradigm and by the late '60's, early 70's, it was over, starving from lack of surplus oil. Many Oil Age programs died then. The Space Age, the American middle class protected by Unions, the old way of conducting war born in the Civil War ( mass material, mass men, mass casualties ). And Social Engineering. Without oil surplus, we had to shift towards lower energy institutions. Like, for instance, financializing the economy ( consumerism is merely running the economy on debt ) rather than Industrializing it.
*
Globalization, which is just financializing the GLOBAL economy, disguised as communism to gain the followers needed for implementation, was the system put into place just before the oil ran out ( enough oil to run the old system. As our supply shrinks, we keep downgrading the system ). It started not as a banker profit vehicle but as a way to dismantle the old America the bankers had battled for control over. In 1963, the US was still the global ( non-communist parts ) hegemony. The bankers instituted a Divide And Conquer when they lost control of the old power structure, then needed to purge it.
*
A decade later, when our oil production peak destroyed the economy, THEN the internal communism turned to globalism ( outsourcing industry and banker manipulation ). And the whole time, the communists who are really just Statists, kept stirring up more trouble and helping to dismantle the last of the old system of nationalism/American Colonialism into the beast of Banksterism we have today. The Communist International was a GREAT cover for a global Rothschild's banking operation. Hell, I even wonder if the Jew Rothschild's don't use all their fellow Jews as scapegoats to blame this globalism on rather than the One Power Banker.
*
Why not? We still manage to blame the old powers the corporations and the Military Industrial Complex for all our ills. They make perfect covers for the Rothschild's, royal to no one but family and only worshiping Mammon ( all of the puppets of the Rothschild's, such as Hilary, worship Satan, but the Banker Boys hold to a higher power of deity ). So don't blame THE Jews. Blame ONE family of Jews. Don't blame Satanists. Blame the Mammonists. Much more to say, tomorrow.

death of hard copy 2

DEATH OF HARD COPY 2
I'm not into music very much, outside of noticing it in movies. Oh, there is some I simply adore. The Doors, The Who, Pink Floyd. Sex Pistols. That gal from Eurythmics, Stevie Nicks. Strangely, the B-52's. Some I used to like until I bought the CD and realized they really where One Hit Wonders ( some of the 80's girl bands ). But I never really used music to pass the time with, such as when exercising. And one day when I read the theory that music actually changes brain function, true or not I really laid off the stuff.
*
It wasn't something I HAD to have, nor was willing to drop much cash on. As a result, I only have paid slight attention to the industry. I know by the end of the '80's if you didn't like Hair Metal or Rap you were out of luck. And that recently pop music is a mirror of Hollywood, all the same crap 99% of the time. So I cannot really comment on music as entertainment except to wonder at its free price. There is software to take a YouTube video and turn it into an MP3. Of course, pirating. I just don't know how anyone stays in business that way ( is this why 70 year old guys are playing concerts? ).
*
You can pirate music and movies. I watched “Platoon” when I was over in Korea, where we could pay for a cable company to show 24/7 movies which I'm sure were not legit ( the service fee was too low ). You can read pirated books ( if everyone scans library or used books and exchanges files ). I just generally try to stay away from all that, not needing any issues with Johnnie Law. Morally, I don't have issues.
*
I do think if you want Good, you must pay. If you don't tip the waitress, sure, you'll get service. But it is a crappy thing to do. If you are that poor, why are you eating out? And you can JUST read free books, but if nobody supports good authors you are only screwing yourself, because in the end you get more crap and less Good. There is another problem I have with Kindle, but I can't exactly blame anyone on that. Authors don't have to put anything up on Unlimited if they don't want to. It IS free advertising or course, but still a rigged system.
*
So, obviously, pirated materials are all free. Just a bad idea. But if you are involved in the legal marketplace, it seems that the only operating model is undercutting the competition, wiping out mom and pops or independents, then jacking up prices ( such as when e-books and paper books are identical prices, or renting movies approaches the old DVD new release price ). This pisses me off to no end. Without competition the customer always loses, far offsetting whatever initial price saving there was.
*
It is Wal-Mart versus down town businesses all over again, but in the entertainment industry. Sure, anyone can now print their own book, burn their own CD or publish e-books at absolutely no cost. Good luck letting people know what you have. Granted, that has always been an issue. For a time, you could get great word of mouth ( until they started censoring us off all of social media, for Wrong Think ). But as always, the corporations closed the loopholes. And no, this is not sour grapes from a writer.
*
I could get free advertising from American Survival Guide, and Rawles, and it still wouldn't make a difference. Because my stuff is self censored. Few preppers want to hear what I have to say. They won't give up their cars, their trophy wives, FLIR scopes or Red Dawn action figure PEZ dispensers ( that one is for you, John Wilder, you sexy bastard ). Not that you can't make a living being an independent entertainer. You can. You just have to adjust expectations down, then down a little more. Yes, Alex, I'll take Independence over Wealth. I think it is a heck of a deal, myself.
*
This is the New Normal, slash and burn agriculture applied to business. Kill off an industry as you squeeze the last profit off of it. So, now is the right time, perhaps the only time, to stock up on hard copy. Once the industry is gutted, wounded, flopping around grasping for air, there won't be anymore product available. I've just been bitching about new release movies, but old movies are in worse danger. To keep their customers, streaming services are showing all those free movies. Very soon, good luck finding any old movie DVD's. They are everywhere now, used, because no one wants to pay for them if they are free online.
*
If you want a copy of a movie, you MUST resist the urge to save that dollar, and buy it now while you can. Libraries have them, pawn shops, thrift stores. You can go online here. You can buy on E-Bay for even less if you buy bulk. This is a great sell-off, and it will not be repeated. The DVD industry took a huge hit after Netflix and it hasn't recovered. Will they even stay in business? Will used bookstores?
*
I don't think they have a bright future, not because the demand isn't there but because rents are simply too high, with the banker controlled real estate market. Get those cheap used books while you can. When there are clearances of nickel or quarter paperbacks, buy in your genre. ALL books you might one day read, if you have to, because that is all that is left, even if you don't like it now. I'm serious. Books aren't given away as they used to be but rather sold used on Amazon at high prices. Even thrift stores keep them off the floor to make better profit.
*
Music CD's should be about the same, a dying industry. The above link for movies also has music. I'm not saying CD's, DVD's or paper books will disappear. I'm saying soon they won't be cheap due to supply and demand. You MUST hoard now! Amazon is NOT a very profitable company, outside its cloud services ( subsidized by the Intelligence Services, as is Microsoft and Facebook and such, I'm sure ). It is a stock inflation pump and dump operation. How sad is it they can't make money, even without store rent? That savings is all spent on break even prices and subsidized shipping.
*
Amazon will not survive. Netflix? The exact same thing. Stockholders are betting on making up the loses on volume, which only worked for Ponzi and his adherents. Both companies will probably fail, at least as currently structured ( Amazon might survive as an online portal and guarantee of contract for third party vendors, Netflix if they go to pay per view ), in the upcoming stock market implosion. Most of the “profit” is only inflated stock options for its top tier operators.
*
Once the big providers of digital entertainment go bankrupt or stop providing subsidized entertainment, and having already killed the video store, DVD sales, quality books and profitable music careers, what are you going to be looking at? Much higher cost alternatives. So have your really cheap, as of now unwanted, hard copies. Get going. Now.

death of hard copy

DEATH OF HARD COPY
This article is vaguely related to the economic collapse and somewhat ties in with prepping ( entertainment to combat cabin fever ), but is also in large part more of a “by my whimsy” selection. Sometimes I like to detour slightly from frugal prepping or causes of collapse. Hell, once I wrote on why the original Star Wars was so popular ( I dislike the theory that the public needed cheering up. The same year, Smokey And The Bandit and Oh, God! Did as good or better per theater and they were happy movies. click here for box office numbers ).
*
My basic contention here is that digital ( defined as online, since even some hard copy is technically digital. A better definition is, well, No Hard Copy ) killed off hard copy but now digital is VERY expensive. Since by and large hard copy is spit upon now by lazy bastards too incapacitated to get out of their padded chairs, you can and should rush to invest and stockpile everything Hard Copy. I'll cover the different media and give good reasons to fear Digital. And yes, some is Collapse orientated so I don't go completely off the rails.
*
Most preppers are entirely too serious. Oooo, I simply MUST have a FLIR scope. I MUST have freeze dried unicorn gall bladder. If I don't have an AR-15 I'll never triumph over hordes of Walkers! Relax, Francis. Odds are good you aren't really prepared at the level of Avoiding crowds and storing enough food for the die-off. You're going to die anyway. Three more magazines or one more semi-auto isn't going to make a difference. You can afford to invest a little into entertainment. Not a LOT, obviously. Everything in moderation, except wheat, ammo and paranoia.
*
If you do it right, hard copy entertainment will cost you very little. And, if done right, you'll need very little electrical capacity to power up your entertainment. Every evening after supper, and through large parts of winter, you will have down time. Our far future might be Sunday church, Friday night dances, listening to someone play an instrument and bible reading as our sole entertainment, but for now we can survive nicely off of the wreckage of our Oil Age “circus” equipment. As in, “bread and circuses”. Large amounts of investments are made to keep us cheaply entertained.
*
The problem, lately, is that “cheaply” is only relative. As the collapse moves along, everything gets more expensive while producing far less value. Half the population is now priced out of a new car. I for one can't afford to get sick, at all. By most standards, my affordable house is actually a hovel. Folks are getting squeezed in a nickel and dime, death by a thousand cuts manner as everything becomes affordable only to the 9%. This trend will not reverse. Higher unemployment means fewer workers need to contribute more to keep the monopoly institutions profitable.
*
Going to the theater was never cheap, per se. Renting a video was never THAT cheap. Life in Leave It To Beaver wasn't always inexpensive. But wages relative to costs was far better. Now, renting or buying a video IS cheap, compared to what it used to be. Unless you go digital, and then at its worst day Blockbuster Video was a screaming bargain in comparison. Who thinks renting a digital download for $12 is a good idea? At least before when you went to a video store you could bootleg a copy.
*
Now, if you wait a bit you can own a copy legally for half the cost the rental just was. You can rent at Redbox for $2, if you get off your ass. Even the same movie streaming from Redbox versus its hard copy rental is twice to three times as expensive. Who actually thinks streaming rentals is a good idea? I'm flabbergasted, myself. And yes, I know you can watch pirated new release movies. I don't need the stress involved in that. Your mileage may vary. My point is that going digital, costs have gotten out of control for movie rentals. The less it cost them the more we pay.
*
My stepdaughters family recently got rid of all their hard copy movies. It was “taking up too much room”. I was more than happy to take it off their hands. Good luck keeping your digital copy after Amazon goes bankrupt. Our house is smaller, and I still found room to stash the DVD's. One day, Netflix gets too expensive, goes Full Retard SJW, or goes broke making mediocre content to compete with the House Of Mouse. I'll have something to watch in the evenings ( broadcast TV BLOWS supreme bloody chunks with insane levels of commercials ).
*
And yes, I remember our discussions on DVD's eventually degrading and becoming unwatchable. I'm hoping to mostly avoid that by death beforehand, old age or a bullet, whichever. Not a perfect plan, granted. But movies are a secondary entertainment anyway. Mostly I plan on having plenty of reading material. I already have up to two thousand reference books, at least a third unread, and Dog knows how many paperback novels. Here is the thing with books. Buying digital is now more expensive, also. You may be confused, with your $10 a month Kindle Unlimited. Allow me to explain.
*
If you had unlimited access to college student films, and YouTube no budget films, or Public Access Cable channel films, would you say you had a decent library? Hell to the NO! They aren't worth watching. They are only films due the media, but certainly not a film by the definition of entertainment. They are drivel. Almost all Kindle books are WORSE than that. They never should have been written, let alone read. They are pure crap. Don't get me wrong, the New York City “professional” presses are all SJW and unreadable as well.
*
Digital books are almost never a good bet. I find it is best to just use them to search for new authors, and as cheaply as possible. You won't find much. Those “free for today” books I point out to you? 99% total crap. I'm not a snob. Some people who otherwise wouldn't read like the pulp fiction stuff ( before, “Survivalist” or “Executioner”. Now, zombies and Super Ninja Tactical Operators ). I just simply cannot stand them myself. It is lowest common denominator fiction. That means, lowest level of writing, NOT lowest intelligence of the reader. My problem is, that is the ONLY kind of books you find now, digital or hard copy.
*
All hard copy is now James Patterson drivel or SJW propaganda. I don't know when that went off the rails, perhaps the 2008 crash on. As a result, ONLY used books prior to that change are worthy of purchase. And if you buy those in the digital marketplace, you pay high shipping costs. Unless your town has an actually used bookstore, reading is no longer cheap ( Borders, Barns & Noble and etcetera in my opinion went out of business because of the content they provided, just as movie theaters are wounded by the crap they are stuck with ).
*
So, Amazon screws you on Kindle, with crappy books, or it certainly does NOT pass on the savings of no retail space and screws you with shipping ( to be fair, the used books suffer from a dwindling supply, also, if you don't buy newer used books. Seriously, check out how even science fiction went SJW. I still don't know how that is even possible ). Okay, this is long enough for one day. I'll continue and conclude this tomorrow.

food prices 2

FOOD PRICES 2
One day, we WILL be suffering mightily from our centralized oil based food production paradigm. That day is not now, after the Midwest flooding. It also doesn't matter that China is losing butt tons of pork butt to disease. Yes, prices go up. Meat prices and gasoline prices are always spiking up and down. That is why you have a deep freezer, and a bicycle. Well, why I have a bike. You are completely dependent on a car. I won't beat on that horse today. The point is, WHY are you not used to price fluctuations in food and energy?
*
You hear some guy talking about how much of an increase there was in his heating oil bill, and what do you do? Me? I wonder why the hell he hasn't insulated and installed an Earth Tube. If you can afford to fill a large fuel tank, how much cheaper would a hundred feet of trench be? And it isn't like you have to insulate the whole darn house. A couple of wool blankets and a feather comforter is $100-$120 per bed. Turn off the water to upstairs and you only have to heat and insulate half the house.
*
You can shower downstairs. If you need to use the upstairs bathroom in the middle of the night, turn on the water again in the morning to flush ( I would make the no rent paying leeches haul the water up by hand but I'm sure you'll want to coddle your marshmallow family to the point they make terrible cannon fodder for the apocalypse ). Anyway, I can lead you to water but I can't make you drink. Optimistic Ollies won't survive, but they sure are enjoying the present. And you just might be right, so there is that also keeping you warm at night.
*
But, we were going to focus on assuming food prices head to the stratosphere ( rather than me telling you why they most likely won't-Most Likely isn't a very good survival plan either ). Everyone thinks we are automatically screwed. They are assuming that the globalized food transportation system won't kick in as it has for the last thirty years. When one country cuts off oil, say, the 1979 Oil Embargo or today's Iran Oil Embargo, they just buy it from another country that bought it from the first.
*
When food shortages happen in one country, they just get food shipped in from whoever has a surplus at the moment. It is globalized JIT food supplies. The danger is when nobody has a surplus, which almost happened ten years ago with widespread drought. One time in the future, it will happen again. Or, this tariff nonsense gets to the point trade halts. Or, food will be weaponized. But for NOW, the system still holds. But because you are a damn fool for trying to time Black Swans, we discuss what can happen that is different than right now.
*
For whatever reason, what if food prices spiked? If there is a sudden shortage of corn, soy and hay as is currently occurring, yes, prices double or triple ( I believe it is hay that doubled, but the corn and soy might have downward pressure from the end of Chinese demand in said tariff conflict ). But do grocery store prices spike? Yes, they could. WILL they? Might the government provide tax incentives or directly subsidize the growers or middlemen to keep costs down? Why not? It is pretty cheap insurance against disruption.
*
The government already buys food and distributes it to ( feather ) Indians and old people and school lunches, creating demand. Why couldn't they buy up overseas grain and sell it below cost? Or, buy expensive domestic supplies and sell below cost. Or something similar. They already doubled the Food Stamp program the last economic contraction. They have no problem throwing money at any problem. Do you think it escapes any President that if food prices increase beyond seasonal or one off event short term hikes, he won't get reelected? The government loves social engineering, still.
*
How much extra have smokers been penalized by direct government intervention? How many extra Lesbian Basket Weaving graduates do we have taking over the culture because the government subsidized college tuition? The government does what it takes to stimulate the economy, such as making sure all the new Mexican illegal immigrants building houses could get a NINJA loan ( prior to the housing bubble ). I'm NOT saying you shouldn't panic buy food now before prices go up. What I'm saying is that the flooding isn't going to be food hyperinflation. Not if the government decides to intervene. No, that doesn't mean I think government welfare is a great idea.
*
It JUST means all this panic might be over very little. You bitches panic over food whenever there are weather related events, yet still drive your vehicles around completely unconcerned that imports are 35-40% of your gas and fracking ( which cannot sustain itself ) is another third. I know, I said I wouldn't harp on that. I'm merely pointing out you should panic smarter instead of panicking harder. You should have panicked over stocking food when it was dirt cheap and you could have bought when no one else was interested.
*
Actually, now is STILL a great time to be buying wheat or rice ( that one's just for you, Dingo my brother ) before their prices go up just because demand switches over to them. I know buying storage food can suck, if only because you have to feed all those damn ingrate family, plus the cost of storage containers never dropped from when oil prices had surged. But, this might be one of your last chances to do it relatively cheaply. If the government starts buying to keep down costs, that means cheap grain to the food production industry, NOT to you as a civilian buying grain. That market might even dry up altogether.
*
So, buying groceries should see increases, yet not Famine Is Coming increases, BUT!, you could still see extreme price hikes at the feed store or from the LDS cannery or Mom & Pop preparedness food companies because the gov welfare to keep a lid on prices will be directed to big industry players only. Big corporation welfare ONLY. You'll still benefit, buying cheaper meat and dairy and processed foods than the free market would deliver, but that saving will NOT be across the board. So, storage food panic buy? Probably a great idea. Fill the freezer? Oh, yeah.
*
But panic over your food budget going up to the point of Days Of Yore propaganda where grandma had to choose between cat food or the heating bill? I don't think so. Not to say it won't happen, but if it does it will be for different reasons. Say, all the Food Stamp Diversity legions just get their dollar amounts indexed to food inflation, but all the Deplorables having to pay full price because they have “assets” ( like an expensive mortgaged house they can't afford ) and so don't qualify for assistance. That is reverse discrimination and would be a deliberate Food Weapon attack.
*
But that is STILL government subsidizing food, just selectively. What if there wasn't any gun control, but to get Food Stamps for your kids you weren't allowed to own any firearms? There is using food inflation against you. I have no doubt the government would do something like that. But that is political and part of the coming civil war. It is deliberately picking winners and losers, to eat, just like those damn communists. As I already said, patriots store food for the coming fight.
*
This article in no way invalidates my previous concerns of the government fighting you with food, not just drones or SWAT teams. This article ONLY addresses grocery store prices due to the flooding. I'm mainly pointing out the probability that grocery store prices stay relatively stable, so don't spend ALL your money on day to day grocery storage thinking they won't. Leave plenty for long term storage food and ammo.
*
And even if the floods never happened, NOW is the time to buy the crap out of storage grain and ammunition. Low prices were ALWAYS an anomaly. Thinking otherwise is being Optimistically Stupid. I hope you didn't spend all your cheap carbine ammo budget on a FLIR scope.

note: a day or two ago, talking about motorcycle batteries for the apocalypse ( they can be stored dry, then flooded and trickle charged from solar, an advantage over the larger size that need AC power to give an initial charge ) in the comments section, I mixed up sealed and unsealed batteries in my conversation.  Now I feel like an idiot.  Hell, if I was perfect you would all resent me and my hair even more.

food prices

FOOD PRICES
The consensus seems to be that after the Midwest flooding, scarcity and ginormous food price increases are assured. Well, probably. But most likely isn't assuredly. While we are used to being double dog dingus'ed, it isn't guaranteed. First off, just because the weather is terrible does NOT mean food prices will go up enough to actually endanger anyone. Go back thirty and forty years and most likely what you will see is PETROLEUM rather than Mother Nature induced price spikes. Not always, but most often in this country, 'Murica, oil causes inflation and scarcity. Why?
*
Because Oil To Food is at least a century old here. We are spoiled rotten by oil based food and its insanely low cost. Add in extra money from oil wages ( we supervise oil based machines doing our work ) and at no time is history has food ever been this dirt cheap. Ever never. Which makes it a little embarrassing we don't have more food storage ( even me ). In those few short periods that oil wasn't dirt cheap, we noticed that food prices crept towards Historical Norm. It scared us, and it should have. And I don't mean to say that food is expensive to produce. It isn't.
*
What is expensive is keeping other people/preditors away from our food. Chickens and grazing animals and plants, they do all the work as long as you do your part adding more to the soil than you take out. Your main job as a farmer is keeping eaters away from your crops and animals, and paying someone else to protect your crops from human eaters. That is why most survivalists spend all their money on guns and very little on food. Protection of food is expensive. Food itself is cheap.
*
When BUYING food gets expensive it is because we are paying a premium to the food protectors. The government with guns ( taxes ) or the third parties demanding a toll ( bankers ). It isn't because the food itself has much input cost. So, the Oil To Food was just a racket, by third parties, extorting money. Most times, the extortionists live in splendor by getting paid in quantity rather than quality, per person. Sometimes that dynamic falters and the food appears costly. But that is the protection racket breaking down. Transporting food is part of the racket.
*
Historically, small cities were surrounded by farmland. The Lord On High charged a pretty penny and could, because protecting the food against OTHER lords was cheaper than being attacked and slaughtered. There was no transportation cost, because except over water transportation is VERY costly. Mostly, because of protection. Even sea transportation needs a navy, so it was much cheaper but never free. The best way to transport is to NOT need transport. The Oil Age provided the first truly cheap transportation. So for the first time you could free ALL cities of surrounding cropland.
*
Which we did, and replaced it with suburbs. Because city workers living in the city taking public transportation are not very profitable. But put them in suburbs and the bankers love them, long time. Even subsidizing gasoline, it was VERY profitable. Notice how almost never was gas too expensive. There might have been supply disruptions, but near free fuel is given to the public so the gov and bankers profit over everything else. That cheap oil translated over into cheap food prices. Why are restaurant food prices so unreasonable right now? It isn't because of food prices. The two trend lines have been the opposite the last five to eight years.
*
What you have been paying for is the protection racket. The banker induced 2008 economic collapse, which ONLY profited the bankers, is now responsible for insane rents, surging unemployment, out of control mergers and stock manipulations. You aren't paying more for the food but to bail out the bankers ( to keep their derivatives casino from crashing again ). I feel a surge of pride when I do NOT eat out. Not just because I'm getting a merit badge is Super Extreme Frugality, but because I'm not helping the whoring rotten bankers get more money.
*
Do you think McDonald's is replacing workers with robots because they want $15 an hour? NYET! McDonald's can't afford workers at current wages, because of the banker racket costs. Rents, way up ( or, if the property is owned, property taxes way up so the local government can pay its banker loans they took to survive 2008 ). Customers, way down ( or, not increasing. If a business takes loans with growth assumed, just lack of growth equals losing money ). Because customers lose hours to ObamaCare, having less disposable income.
*
Again, food costs adjusted for inflation have been going DOWN as restaurant prices have been going UP. Granted, food prices can reverse course and head up. They probably will. But the last time we had a huge weather event, there was actually plenty of press showing how little this impacted food prices. A loaf of bread went from $2.79 to $2.99, say. Because you were not paying all that much for the wheat, as much as for everything else. You're telling me that a 20% surge in food is going to impact you all that much, as cheap as food is right now?
*
'Po Bitches in Turd World countries that directly eat off basic food stocks, such as a peasant buying corn kernels to make her own tortilla's, yes, she and her family is screwed. But American's? If you buy processed foods, the food part is cheap even at a 20-50% food price hike. The bank rising interest rates, or oil prices doubling have far more impact on the retail price. Do oil prices carry through the supply chain? Of course! But you only notice when that price doubles or triples. And don't forget, prices are NOT always free to rise!
*
Eventually, yes, you'll see a fuel surcharge after lots of oil price increases. But to start, FedEx and UPS competing against each other and the Post Office keep them from raising prices. Oh, someone always pays. The taxpayer, someone losing a job, a stockholder. But the end customer doesn't ALWAYS pay for increased costs. “A virtual monopoly” isn't the same as an “absolute monopoly”. All this is to say, it is simplistic to look at weather related food lose as being an automatic price increase. And we didn't even cover food transportation from other regions. Which I might do tomorrow.
*
But I'll definitely cover the whole point this article was about, sans background, which is that even IF food prices go up after flooding, should you discount the possibility of government subsidized food? “Food is a weapon” can also include the wielder allowing it to be sold at a loss. Like the first drug hit being free, the government might not be through with controlling us with cheap food. They could “eat” a lot of the increases, for their own benefit. They subsidize oil and entertainment ( taxpayer supported professional sports ). Why not food? Continued tomorrow.

note: if you don't read the comments, thinking you have a real life outside my writing, a loyal minion suggested the movie "Battletruck" which is better known as "Warlords Of The 21st Century".  Look for either on ScrewTube, or I watched it ( under "Warlords" ) on Tubi.  Was it a great movie, even by the standards of the 1980's?  Not really.  Was it a great movie compared to almost any other Desert Wasteland After The Oil Age movie?  Hell to the yeah.  It actually tried to envision how life was going to be lived then, and tried to show as much in background detail.  Not realistic per se, with the Forever Ammo and other points, but it tries much harder than most.  The producers actually valued story and other production values.  I enjoyed and recommend.

fiber warning

FIBER WARNING
When I first moved off grid, I didn't have a lot of information to go on about such things as alternate sewage systems or PV power systems. I read as much as I could and tried several different versions and improvised and learned by wasting money. For instance, if you are trying to recharge a second battery ( for home use ) while driving, you'll never do that on just two six mile trips. Luckily that didn't cost me anything except some booster cables which I later reused moving batteries out of the RV side compartment to a ground level insulated box.
*
As another For Instance, I used the wrong batteries. I went with Wal-Mart Marine batteries, which are all fine and dandy for cheap storage. For about two years. Then they died because, one, they are from Wal-Mart and two, I'm told the sealed glass mat types last three plus times as long. They cost three times as much, so I wasn't out any money, really ( except losing the core charge when the crack heads stole all my collection of dead batts ), but when you live off grid without a car, NOT replacing those unexpectedly is a better way to go.
*
I also kept the batteries outside. Even though they were buried, I suspect they were still damaged somewhat by the extreme cold. They next time, I'd buy smaller units and carry from the panels after being charged to inside exactly where they were needed. If I had a battery for each appliance I'd also have back-ups AND they would last longer as they weren't being charged so often ( using three 35 amp batts instead of one 110 amp ). It is also better to have multiple smaller watt inverters, for the same reasons.
*
The sewage issue was far worse. I had of course read The Humanure Book, but that was about all that was available. At the time I wasn't too comfortable going compost. So, I started out trying that camping gel in a bag unit that is supposed to neutralize smell. Well, if you don't mind the cost, those are fine, because they do NOT last long at all if you want to seal the bag. And trying to seal a bag when you had an additional emergency use is not too fun. I gave up on those in just a few days. You can buy the chemical toilet liquid, but good luck transferring your treasures into town to dispose of. Foul and messy and smelling like you lived in Satan's ass.
*
As a result of the sewage failures, I did in my early blog years focus perhaps a bit much on alternate turd disposal. I was repeatedly chastised for such, every time I had a bright idea I wanted to share. I notice that to be less of the case now, probably because now the crap is getting real ( pun intended ) and people are actually having to plan for this for real ( it also helps I settled on the best method of a sawdust toilet with separate urination ). Of course, this assumes you don't want methane cooking gas, which complicates things once again.
*
Well, since the toilet issue is settled, I figure I'll go ahead and talk about turds from another angle, and hopefully piss off folks as much as I used to. Some people are still not comfortable with the need to poo, and I'm happy to push your poo phobia buttons. Today, let's talk about the extreme amount of fiber that is going to be your diet post-collapse, if you rely excessively on wheat. In short, dude!, that is a LOT of fiber.
*
Before, when folks mentioned a wheat heavy diet, they warned that your system would react violently to its introduction, if you weren't already used to it. Well, yeah, that's true. But they don't mention that even IF you are used to it, it is still way too much fiber in your diet. Back in the day working at the food bank, I was eating two cups of flour a day. Every day working. It was my heavy duty labor diet ( I was lifting massive amounts of weight ). But I also ate lots more, heavy on the oil and meat.
*
I kept eating wheat when I started a more sedentary lifestyle, but just a half cup a day. Well, after issues of cost and weakness from hunger ( I think low blood sugar, but am unsure ), I decided to up my wheat consumption again ( refer back to all our discussions on the new wheat grinder to supplement the Victoria ). I'm always anticipating disruptions, and I know I can't just spend like a Yuppie eating my fill of expensive meat and cheese.
*
I started eating much more wheat, a cup and a half. I felt better, more full longer and less weakness, and all was well for the next month. Which was about as long as I imagine it took to clean out my system. I had been having issues with constipation unless I ate my wheat, and an apple or cabbage, as well as drinking all my required water. But after a month, being thoroughly cleansed, I discovered I was eating too much fiber. I was on the toilet at least twice a day and sometimes three.
*
Then, let us just say that farting started to become dangerous, with far too many close calls. And all that wheat was making me very gassy. So you can imagine the problem. Now, if you were paying attention you remember I was eating two cups a day flour for seven years at my old job. Now I was only eating one and a half, yet having lots of intestinal distress. What was different? Well, I'm getting a lot older with geriatric problems ( heartburn, hemorrhoids, now I need reading glasses ).
*
But mostly, it is because I'm not eating OTHER foods in the same volume. I might have been eating 800 calories of whole wheat, but I was also eating another 3200 in meat and oil and sugar and refined carbs. Wheat was only 20% of my calories. Now, “only” eating 600 calories of wheat, I'm getting 30% of my total calories in wheat. To give you perspective, some really poor Turd World countries folks see up to 70% of their calories in wheat or other grains. That is considered excessive and unbalanced.
*
I modified my wheat intake back down to 400 calories, closer to the 20% mark, and all the issues cleared up within two days. I can now once again proudly toot with abundance and no longer feel as if I'm about to explode. You know how you feel when you have diarrhea, afraid to move suddenly as your bowels feel watery? Well, I wasn't too far removed from that condition ( the feeling, not the consistency of the delivered product ). NOT anything I'd recommend. Now, having experienced this, have I changed my apocalypse diet from mostly wheat?
*
Of course not! What, are you insane? Am I Rockefeller? I still believe in quantity over quality in food storage. I'm under ZERO illusions how fast the food supply will disappear. It is still all about food, and taste is for rich humpers. I won't be changing a thing. I'm just more aware of the price I'll have to pay for dirt cheap storage food. The phrases “I'm so happy I could crap” and “you scared the crap out of me” will just take on more literal meaning after the collapse.
