bankruptcy part 2-post 2 of 2 today

BANKRUPTCY PART 2-post 2 of 2 today
After a few comments from the bankruptcy article, I figured I might need to expand on an argument. Not about bankruptcy-that subject was already flogged for an unseemly amount of time. Rather, morality. Which we've already over saturated in coverage also. But, here goes. Morality stops at the tribal boundary. I understand your basic Christianity seems to call for your inclusion of all mankind, to treat others kindly and morally, but I assure you the Pope never shied from smiting heathens. Heathens by definition being sinners and abandoning the one true god and all.
*
No, I'm not mocking. Christians were a tribe. You treated others in your tribe with a moral code. No banned weapons or mistreating prisoners, no killing civilians, that sort of thing. Things didn't go to Hell until politics got involved. And money. But that is par for the course, and really, the Papists were one of the longest empires and did a lot of good ( even with all the bad involved-no organization has ever acted properly at all times ). None of us probably would ever have been born without the New World being colonized, and that was the Church acting poorly.
*
My point is that the Christian morality is tribe specific. All codes must be. Without that exclusive membership, your tribe has set itself up for death. America signed her death warrant in 1965 ( sadly, the same year I was born ) when immigration changed from a melting pot to a formality at the front entrance ( or, with illegal immigration, the back door ). When you were allowed in but forced to conform to the American culture, it didn't matter what your race or religion was ( well, to a certain extent-covered more later ).
*
When you were allowed to come over and your race shared none of the northern European cultural traits, AND you were also allowed to keep practicing your old indigenous culture, not being required to conform to historical local standards, that was the beginning of the end of the American tribe. Because we had always been an uneasy alliance of states, mainly bribed by natural resource wealth, the separate cultures needed a glue other than greed. We created a bastard culture comprised of the parts, and that plus the wealth was good enough for a time. It was an uneasy alliance, but we made it work most of the time.
*
I'm not claiming it was ever a good model. Puritans and Celtic clans, German craftsmen and French trappers, not even taking into account the religious differences, normally none take kindly to the others. It almost worked like a military academy, different people forced together, with their hatred focused elsewhere to form a group that disliked each other but minded their manners as they pursued a career. But multi-ethnic and multi-religious empires are never a good idea and never mix well. Today we find out how little we get along as the empire crumbles.
*
Do not mistake the hate and discontent as political. Our capitalist society embraced socialism to survive, as communist nations incorporated capitalism to do the same. Politics is no where near as important as nationalism or tribalism. We change politics all the time to strengthen the tribe. No, we hate each other as we always did. We just aren't being bribed anymore to play nice with all the other idiots we could never stand the sight of. Did we EVER really like each other? No, and we never had to pretend until civility by gun was forced on us.
*
Most people act like it was a crime against nature to prohibit the Chinese from being granted citizenship in California 150 years ago, but I assure you the folks in that state didn't feel bad at all for prohibiting such an alien culture a foothold. The Irish were hated for some time, Catholics in a Protestant nation. They made great serfs though, so we got a crap ton of them. Unfortunately, that opened the door for eastern Europeans ( a completely foreign culture, even today ) and Italians and Jews. None of which were culturally compatible with the early settler cultures.
*
Once you let in the Irish ( I'm half Scot myself, and certainly look favorable on the Potato Heads-I make a point of cultural compatibility ), then it is barely a stretch to let in the Mexicans. Then the Muslims. It never ends. Now you can't let your goat wander unattended in the yard in some areas, least he be sacrificed. And we all see how well those Muzzies treat their host nations in Europe. Hint, welcome to the genocide, infidel dogs. Nobody took a look at centuries of religious wars and concluded that mixing and matching wasn't the best idea? No, because of those first arrivals here ( or, among the first ), those Gott Damn Puritans. Preachy humpers who profited off God.
*
The original Yuppie Scum, but with a crucifix up their asses. Money was more important than state stability. Who do you think shipped over all those slaves? But, I'll move on. We were always tribal, but forgot it for awhile. I guaran-damn-tee you that a LOT of other tribes living here never forgot it. Blacks never forgot it and never assimilated. Jews were the same, to the point we are told we have to allow them to support Israel over the country they are citizens of, least we be branded anti-Semitic.
*
Again, I don't care what religion you are, I only care what your allegiance is. I don't care what race you are, as long as you belong to my tribe. If you choose race or religion over my tribe, then you are a foreigner. THEN your race or religion matters a whole lot to me. Sometimes it doesn't even matter, as Whites in the Blue Regions are culturally hostile towards everything I stand for or believe in. That ain't politics, folks. Anti-Bill Of Rights, anti-freedom to defend myself against a hostile government, anti-family, anti-gender, anti-race ( my race ). All those are a foreign culture.
*
The Bill Of Rights was never negotiable. Those were rights we were born with as Americans and the government could not take away. It wasn't the governments to decide. We gave the government just enough power to serve us. If you don't believe that, you aren't my tribe. That is a tribal belief, and I don't care how small my tribe is, you aren't allowed to vote that away. If you try, you are my tribes enemy. Team Blue THINKS they are acting morally ( women's rights, make society safe, equal rights for minorities ), but those are not MY morals. They are not my tribes culture. And yes, this has everything to do with a moral obligation to pay back a loan.
*
Blue is acting morally, within their culture. Should YOU treat their actions as moral? Of course not! You think abortion is moral? You think chemically castrating a boy, on the consent of a parent, is moral? You think a transgender “person” should be allowed access to children in a library or a public restroom? They think it is moral. You do not. It is a cultural difference. And no matter which side you stand on, the other side is immoral. That is just reality. That is why you don't mix cultures. Continued tomorrow.

  1. As gently as I can say...you have the most facile & superficial understanding of Christianity. Please stop using it as your whipping boy. Thx.

    Moving on....

You say,"Politics is no where near as important as nationalism or tribalism". I say, 80% of Americans don't even know the names of their great grand parents. They don't pray in the language of the "predominate ethnicity". Most white Americans have no tribe.

Lets suppose an example where one "German" grandmother from Texas married a guy with "Cherokee-Ulsterman" background while other "German" grandmother from Pennsylvania married a "Slovak-Dutch-Serbian-Volga German" guy. Does that make little granddaughter "German"?

What if one g-mom was lapsed Mennonite who spoke Plattdeutsch growing up while other was hardcore Catholic who barely even understood pidgin Texan-Bavarian dialect? Did g-daughter observe a Catholic Christmas or a secular Santa Claus Day?
Don't forget g-daughter married a Mormon guy of "English-Samoan" descent and now lives in SLC.
And most importantly...does granddaughter put beans in her chili???

Sorry Jim, most white Americans are of the tribe "Homo Economicus". When push comes to shove most folks will congregate around people of similar pre collapse educational/economic position. They won't flee to "ancestors" homestead in rural N. Dakota and have reunion with 2nd cousin they met 30 years ago at the now shuttered St. Olaf Norwegian Luthern Church on the prairie.
Except in small instances, tribalism was thrown overboard by the time steamship arrived at Ellis Island. Descendants of earlier waves pretty much also forgot their Huegonaut, Puritan or "hot mix" Franco-Haitian exiled ancestor.
They don't even know where their people are buried in order to put flowers on graves. Shame that.

    1. Not sure where you got me trying to link folks allegiance to ancient origins. I'm saying politics can change and folks remain loyal to their tribe, regardless of that change. I don't care about Christianity past its shallow classification of a tribe. At one time, an empire. I'm interested in them as an organization, not as a cult or philosophy.

  2. Funny, I never once thought you used Christianity as your whipping boy - thats where your personal brand of diversity and inclusion shines as EVERYBODY is your whipping boy! :-) Thay being said, Id certainly agree that morality is subjective to one's tribe. In the "tribe" of my upbringing dancing and alchohol (and a host of other things) were positively verboten. Imagine the horror of being 9 years old and going to my favorite Aunt's wedding (who married into a different faction of the same tribe) and they both served champagne (gasp!) AND had dancing (shriek!!). I was worried that I would go straight to hell just being in the same room as these heathens... Thus started the beginning of the end of my inclusion within the tribe. In my experience within the cult, errr Tribe, morality is nothing more than a set of rules some guys made up a long time ago to keep the tribe in check against human nature. Dont like your prescibed morality? Find a NEW tribe that thinks more akin to the way you do. As my dear departed grandfather would say, "its all a bunch of malarkey, kid."

    1. Grandpa knew how to sum it all up, didn't he? Of course, he was probably doing the jitterbug atop cases of bathtub gin, back in the day LOL

  3. Some Christian cults will be the exception, of course. But true about all things
