truthers tales

TRUTHERS TALES

Right before the first day of fall, ‘Ol Remus in the Woodpile Report had disdainful things to say about the 9/11 “Truthers”.  Summarizing, he acknowledged anomalies in the Official Truth but called the storyline of the Truthers Tedious Bunk.  He also likened 9/11 conspiracy theories as fireside tales told to Pakistani children.  “Look how they destroy their own city and blame it on us“.  I wasn’t a hundred percent sure how to take his comments and read it over a few more times.  As far as I can tell, Remus was saying if an ignorant peasant approved of the 9/11 conspiracy theory, it must be false because us White Folk in civilized societies think much more rationally ( I could be wrong on these assumptions and if true tender my apologies before hand ).  As to his other point, I too find the stories told by Truthers to be much ado about diddly squat.  I mean, who friggin cares if the plane was remote controlled or never had passengers or whatever.  All I know is that the Truth According To The Feds is complete and utterly false.  I could care less how they pulled it off-I just know that the official explanation are blatant lies.

*

I’m not sure if ‘Ol Remus is tired of hearing about the conspiracy, or if he disbelieves it completely.  I know a lot of bloggers refuse to even discuss the issue.  There seems to be largely two camps.  One loves the government because they think that is the same as loving your country and believes what they are told and the other can only believe the very worst of the government.  Or, again, just like poser preppers or real survivalists, the difference is between optimists and pessimists.  I’m firmly in the school of crediting government with actively attempting to screw us constantly and habitually lying about it.  I don’t really care HOW they lie to us.  Was the Maine blowing up in Havana a boiler explosion?  Did we provoke the Spanish in firing on us?  Who cares?!  It is enough to know that the weakest empire around with choice territories we wanted to steal needed to be blamed for an act of aggression.  Details are minor notes of interest, and they do serve a purpose in bringing over non-believers to the pessimists camp.  But it doesn’t matter which scenario actually took place.  It only matters who benefited.

*

It might be interesting to know that the passenger liner torpedoed by the Germans was actually full of munitions and so in a violation of international law and hence not a war crime to be sunk.  Or not.  Even if it wasn’t true, Wilson was going to get us involved in WWI somehow or another.  The Bankers demanded it.  And even if they didn’t, our march towards empire did.  Who benefits?  While I’m certain of the culpability of our elite lords and masters, I could care less if I can prove HOW they screwed us.  It is enough to know that there is a far higher probability of a conspiracy theory being true when the accused benefits, as opposed to the far lower odds of the rich and powerful only being here to serve the interests of the common volk.  Wasn’t the initial smear campaign against conspiracy theorists conducted by the CIA itself?  Wow, there’s a whole bunch of folks you can trust your bank account and your daughters virginity to.

*

I believe it is quite healthy to be mistrustful of our leaders ( and the institutions they lead.  I have ZERO belief another person will act any different than the current one.  When you think an agencies behavior is merely due to “a few bad apples”, and yet one bad apple after another keeps up the same poor behavior, and the institution does nothing to stop the NEXT bad apple from doing the same, it just might be time to blame the group itself ).  I don’t need to “prove” that 9/11 was a conspiracy.  It is so flipping obvious it scares me that people can buy into the official version.  Hello, can you say “third tower pancakes”, or “NO debris outside the Pentagon”?  I mean, seriously, dude.  Do I have “proof” that there were Manchurian Candidates?  Of course not.  Do I care how they were programmed?  Not especially.  If it was LSD, I want some of that stuff!  Does it matter how the other Kennedy and MLK were killed?  Not really, but it seems pretty obvious, IF you are paranoid and mistrustful, that the official story is bullspit.

*

Nobody should be asking you to buy into their theories 100%.  If you have the necessary skepticism to believe in a conspiracy in the first place, that should follow over into not being hooked by any one detail of said theory.  It should just be enough to keep an open mind and not believe ANYONE, whether government apologist or Fed Hater.  I’m convinced that FDR drug us into WWII by trickery, just as Wilson did in the earlier war.  In the first world war, the bankers profited nicely.  In the second, we stole the global empire from England, AND saved our economy.  Are you telling me that both those results weren’t so important that our leaders wouldn’t resort to trickery to achieve?  I don’t care if FDR pushed the Japs into attacking us by embargoes or not.  It seems obvious, so I accept it as Probable Enough.  How is that an impossibly conspiracy theory?  Why is it impossible to believe that sacrificing a small amount of obsolete warships in exchange for a huge surge in manufacturing capacity to rescue the economy, AND keeping those factories humming after the war for a global market is an impossibility?

*

How is it possible to be so rabidly anti-conspiracy theory that you are willing to suspend belief in the laws of physics?  A couple of drops of kerosene splattered from a nearby impact cause an entire building to come crashing down?  Really?  I’ve never noticed steel frame buildings falling down from being on fire, ever, anywhere.  But since a Yankee carpetbagger who claimed to have Found The Lord said it by gum happened on his watch, it is suddenly “a thing”?  Does anyone remember how much money was spent after 9/11?  How about the money made off of the crash itself?  WHO BENEFITS?  Think for yourself, people.

  1. Great article today James. Yeah, I got called a “truther” one time by my Glenn Beck watching brother. I didn't even know what the hell that was at the time. His go to counter argument to all these things is that I must get all of this obviously false and whacky information from those “political blogs” that I visit. Funny thing is, I'm not sure if I've ever even been to a political blog before?

I guess if you can spot a bullshit story a mile away, you had best keep it to yourself for fear of having an undesirable label slapped on you. This sort of dovetails along with today's comment that I posted in Friday's post.

Personally though, I prefer to err on the side of caution and trust absolutely none of the official reports that come from our representatives. You have nothing to lose, and perhaps everything to gain.

    1. I hope we never come to a time we are jailed for disagreeing with the official narrative. Like Europeans on Muslims or Halocaust ( sp) deniers.

  2. Been reading Remus since the beginning and that 911 comment was bothersome and seemingly out of character for him. Don't know what to make of it.

The constitution is a set of rules for the politicians to follow but it is woefully lacking in penalties for infractions. Imagine if there were no penalties for infractions at your job, would anything functional get done? Would you rip the place blind? Maybe you wouldn't but plenty of other people would.

Regardless, it's a document that has nothing to do with me. I understand implicitly this country is slammed with criminals from top to bottom and I have shaped my existence in such a way that I hopefully stay out of their scope.

    1. Yah, I love Remus. And I too was a bit butt hurt. I'm hoping it was just miscommunication. If not, oh well. It isn't like I care too much about how many I offend, right?:)

    2. NOTE: second paragraph, I had meant "boilers" and have changed that. Good proof-reading, eh?

    3. I didn't notice through the first two readings.

  3. A structural steel beam will sag and collapse in a fire before a wooden beam rated for the same load will. This shouldn't be construed as an attack on the rest of your article, just a factual correction.
    Peace out

    1. Right, doesn’t the fire char the outside and so protect the innards? Of course, finding that big of a piece of wood outside a log cabin…

    2. This is due to "massing" and is probably not a factual declaration as it has never been applied.

Wood, designed to carry the same load as steel would be 20 times or more, larger. Cost is the determination. Except for aesthetics, why would anyone choose 20X as much wood as steel?

In over 3000 designed buildings I have only chosen wood over steel because of aesthetics. They were 16" x 24" douglas fir beams 40' long in the ceiling of a custom home I designed for the 3rd baseman for the Boston Red Sox's 11,000 sq ft home. There were 8 of those beams in that 2nd floor roof over the living room and they cost over $40k with shipping. I could have spec'd wide flange steel wrapped in doug fir for less than $10k. But you can't argue with people that have more $$$ than IQ.

Back to the orig topic. A wooden beam capable of carrying the same load as steel will be able to lose about 1/4 of it's massing due to fire before it would collapse. If I designed the structure it would probably about 1/2 because I tend to over engineer stuff, especially things I have never done before. That's why none of my building have suffered a structural failure.

    3. I think Over Engineering is a sound practice. I wonder how much is done in today's penny pinching/govt. mafia contractor building.

  4. Speaking about "truthers" instead of speaking about the 9/11 events is not only pointless, it's helping the perpetrators.

Children born that year are now 15 years old. They don't even know a third tower collapsed that day etc.

People who were 15 back then (an age when you start to understand the news) are now 30. I'm convinced that every person now aged 30 or more has had at least one opportunity of genuinely learning about these events, because after all more than 50% of the population disbelieve the official version.

Three main reasons to still stick to the official version :
    - not interested or unable to understand
    - understanding but in denial
    - understanding but preserving one's interests (no trouble with the state or the media, maintaining a customer base made out of stupid people - which is a much more profitable customer base than intelligent people)

    1. I think over 50% of the population believe in UFO's, so that isn't a lot of comfort.

    2. I think over 75% of the population believes in make believe super hero's so it is worse than you thought.

In many ways man is still a very primitive creature and his current folly is arrogantly believing he can harness technology indefinitely. Don't hold your breath as it has been cracked all along the perifery from the beginning and the fault lines look like grand canyons.

    3. And 90% of survivalists/preppers seem to believe in Fracking Forever.

  5. Just because something happened partially the way it is said to have happened doesn't mean the whole story is true.
I saw the planes fly into the towers. admittedly on TV but it was supposedly live TV at the time.
I don't doubt that planes may have been flown into the towers. Possibly organized by the jihadist nut case that had tried to blow them up before. But it also isn't a stretch to think that some small group could have reasonably predicted something similar and prepared for it and arranged to profit from it. Isn't it interesting that they killed the supposed mastermind and got rid of the body so quickly? What might he have said to skilled interrogators'?
But in the end it doesn't matter, stay skeptical of all the official lines, and be ready to jump out of the way should an official party line start lining up in your direction.

    1. The best part of all of it was that in spite of jumbo jets exploding inside some of the largest buildings in the world and reducing them to 1000's of tons of rubble the US gov't passports of the supposed criminals managed to survive and be found.

THAT alone, for me, undermines everything else.
It is not physically possible for me to believe the gov'ts story, ever.

    3. You're trying to push my buttons aren't you?
I was a demolitions specialist in the army.
There is no way in hell that truck sitting along the street did THAT to that building. period.

It might have blown some of the decorative items off the front, for show, but the bulk of what is seen in the popular pics was done from inside, or at the very least, attached right to the front of the structure and concealed some how. It would have required TONS of explosives accurately placed to have done that.

Even 20 tons of C4 in that truck wouldn't have done what you seen.

Further, if someone took the time to accurately place the charges why didn't they take the whole building down?

Remember, blow 2 legs off the 4 legged table and the whole thing comes down. Use the weight of the structure to your advantage.

In my evaluation of the popular pics the whole thing was hastily and poorly set up without much fore thought by barely competent people, which, if you think about ALL the gov't people you have ever encountered, is SOP.

Maybe one of them incomps is the owner of that extra foot that was found but never identified the next block over.
