food 4 u

FOOD 4 U

As a survivalist, Food Is Job One.  It doesn’t matter how many rounds your magazines hold or how fast your plastic guns shoot.  It is all about food.  This seems to be kind of a blind spot with the movements members but I can guarantee you that Uncle Obammy’s handlers have never forgotten the primacy of controlling food.  Not only do they control it and profit from it, they plan on using it as a weapon against their enemies both foreign and domestic ( the definition of an enemy is someone who doesn’t make them money, threatens their money or hasn’t made them enough money ).  If you are butt humping around with only six months food because you want it to taste good and you want it to be balanced, you are going to be a computer chip model number 666 implanted concentration camp worker up until the point malnutrition kills you ( just look at the diet Michael-yes, I spelled that right-Obammy is jam packing down your kids throats at school lunch time.  The crap is denuded vegetables and grains without enough calories or protein or fat.  Your diet might not be much better if you prep with an ultra-frugal pantry but at least you will be free ).   Because not only will food be a weapon, the collapse will not suddenly give way to the die-off quick enough for you to survive with inadequate food stocks.  The government will be around long enough to screw with you and your plans.

*

I can’t imagine the government will be around much longer after the food supplies are interrupted.  The more likely scenario will be total food rationing.  You won’t wake up suddenly with the ghetto’s afire after food isn’t delivered and the federal government closing up shop because of it.  No, they don’t have enough troops to combat hungry rioters.  But they do have enough troops to keep all civilians out of the mega-farm areas and stuck in the cities through total transportation control ( under guise of saving fuel in an import crisis ).  And from there it is as easy-peasy pudding pie to own your ass lock, stock and barrel.  This is why you need food for both during and after a die-off but also during the later stages of the collapse when the gooberment is still mucking up things trying to survive and stay in power using whatever means necessary.  And believe me, they know how to starve people to stay in power.  They used food as a weapon, big time, during the Civil War.  If they thought you were a terrorist your farm and crops were burned.  Then, kind of really liking killing rebel sympathizers, they tried to kill several states worth by letting Sherman loose.  That whetted their appetite to finish up the overdue Indig population genocide and buffalo eradication resulted.  By the time Vietnam came around, under guise of Cong elimination civilians had their rice supplies destroyed.  Iraq went through ten years of sanctions to whittle down the strength of the population prior to invasion.  You really think you are safe from the Feds?

    1. Ok, but that was back when Saturday baths were normal. Just crossing a big desert, monthly might have been more like it. So, they ate dirty ass.

  2. Realistic timetable one year? What is to stop them from food confiscation? I'm sure they know about you. We had two government trolls, either CIA or FBI, before the O.K. city attack destroyed the first militia movement in the early nineties, in our group. The hope would be that they are too busy to bother with small fry. I know they monitor everything now. We already live in a police state.
In essence Matt Bracken's books have already begun. People are disappeared or whacked, gov't agents are mostly corrupt, things are out of control.

    1. Yep-Bracken is about the only militia porn star I take seriously. Boston T Party to an extent.

  3. Food storage is not as much about "how much" as it is about "where".

These musings have been going on in your blogs for years- and it is a great question- how much stored food is enough? No one really knows. But, as you have advocated, if you've got the storage space more is better. You can improvise lots of things, but bulk calories is not one of them. I stopped trying to plan in terms of "time"; 1 year? 3 years? 5 years? and for how many people? That approach is just an abstraction. I think through what secure, temperature moderated storage I have available. Fill the space up 90%+ with long-term storage grains and a little bit of other stuff (beans, sugar, salt). The other key supplies don't take up that much space. I don't know how much food I have- I don't think counting it up matters. I just know I don't have room to store any more (for now).

  4. An one person gas powered auger with 10" bit costs less than $400 delivered in less than a week through Amazon. Free if you are a prime member. Get an extension too and you should be able to dig a 10" hole 4 feet deep in an hour or so- unless you live where Jim does, then it might take you a half day or so.
Seal your bucket well include O2 and H2O absorbers. Know how it is marked so you can find it again. BOOM a couple weeks worth of food cached. Beans, rice, wheat, what have you. Next dark moonless night dig another one, and another and another... Scattered about out of the way. Come the seizure of 'hoarded' food you will turn over half or more of your convenient pantry - but that other stuff bought during the good years? "it all went bad of course and got composted or thrown out. Oh, except this bucket here. Its only half bad sirs."
Yeah, if you keep your head mostly down the government isn't going to go digging under every rose bush in 10 miles of your place hoping to find all your caches. Ground penetrating radar/sonar or simple metal detectors will reveal your cached weapons and the like, and might luck into some of the food (especially big caches), but most will probably go un found. The hard part will be having time to go get it un-observed, and then hide the hole left behind (make it into a trap for more food?).

    1. And don't be a dumbass like me and leave the metal handle on the bucket so it does stand out for a metal detector.

    2. eh, a single metal wire handle wont be enough to be of interest to anyone doing a search. A completely metal bucket (or 55 gal drum!) will be.
The .gov knows they cant get ALL the cached food- they don't need to. Your neighbors will get it for them, for the privilege of an extra hour of TV, or what have you. OPSEC and multi caching is the only way to go - and of course having few to no neighbors.

    3. Good to know about the handle. Hmmm. Didn't think on narcs. I think an article idea. Thanks!

I must moderate-trust me. You don't want to see what happens otherwise. Sometimes it takes awhile to respond as I only check two or three times a day. No N-Bombs, nothing to get me libeled. Otherwise, have at it. If you criticize me, make sure to praise my hair first.
