B&C 3 of 3

BEGGARS AND CHOOSERS 3
*
note: an interesting character, the Japanese soldier who didn't surrender for thirty years click here
If you like the video, here is a book http://amzn.to/2Dh7188 .  I read it long ago from the library.  Not great on "how-to" details, but a good read.
*
When you begin dating, or attempting to date, a woman, obviously you are wooing her.  You are selling yourself in a job interview.  You want to get paid in a grant of sexual exclusivity for breeding purposes ( okay, you just want to get laid-but your programming, DNA and hormones are being sneaky and trying to knock her up ), in exchange for protecting and providing.  Yeh, sure, it really sucks to be a gal.  Guys have to endanger their lives, and gals must breed.  Boo-hoo!  Anyway, here is the important part.  If you ever NEED that particular female, you have bungled the job interview and are going to be stuck down in the mail room instead of on the sales floor ( you’ll provide and protect and she will cuckold you-been there, sent a postcard ).

*

Females instinctively know what you’ll have to learn the hard way.  You NEED a female, but if you need HER, you are a loser.  Females don’t make sense.  You know that.  Yet they do have rules.  You must be willing and able to dump her if she doesn’t behave.  Look at gals as a puppy.  They don’t perform well making their own decisions and need a strong alpha to lead them.  If you are needy with a gal she will keep metaphorically crapping on the rug.  And no, whiny bitches, I’m not being misogynist.  It isn’t that you actually want to be bossed around, as much as that is a tell on whether your man is strong or weak.  No gal really wants to mate with weakness.

*

Now, men and women are definitely different.  That is just nature.  A weaker man can capitulate to a stronger one and they still form an effective group.  Leadership is determined by demonstrated ability.  But, just like gals, as soon as weakness is shown the leadership dynamic is ruined.  And here is where all this is going.  Bribing others to join your tribe is a sign of weakness.  NEEDING someone to join your tribe is weakness.  As soon as you NEED, you BLEED.  Just keep that little jingle in your head and your life will be much easier.

*

Trust me, from someone who has WAY over thought and overanalyzed everything his whole life and learned the hard way.  Simple binary choices always, in the end, trump rational choices, when it comes to fundamentals.  Not that I’m claiming you should be an unthinking robot at this juncture.  That will get you in trouble.  In times of cultural upheaval and resource depletion, the old binary rules can get you in trouble.  They still are valid, but the targets are moving now.  Brute unwavering loyalty to a tribe is ALWAYS correct, but now you need to find another tribe.

*

And being needy is ALWAYS wrong.  It is just that now-because of that moving target-sometimes simple loyalty from the spouse isn’t quite enough ( they must follow your guidance in survivalist related activities ).  They must recognize the upheaval already occurring.  Binary fundamentals are still correct as always, there are just the new need to reevaluate your loyalty in changing times.  Anyway, before I go off on another tangent and this becomes book length, back to forming a tribe.  There is zero wiggle room there, as far as being needy.

*

Let’s play Pretend and say a modern doctor only schooled in relying on the Oil Age infrastructure can actually be an asset after the collapse ( he probably won’t be, but a doc is what the fantasy group alpha profession is ).  If you NEED the guy for his skills, you have gained a doctor to your group but you have probably NOT gained a loyal member of your tribe.  He will see himself as an employee, a contractor, and always be looking at the group as what it can do for him, in repayment.

*

But that is NOT how tribes work.  Yes, they are reciprocal.  Loyalty in, loyalty out.  But they must be automatic and unlimited in the loyalty.  By placing the tribe above you in importance, your odds of survival are actually greater, as are the odds of the group surviving.  But an employee isn’t the same as a tribal member.  There doesn’t necessarily have an unlimited loyalty aspect to it.  It is a temporary assignment rather than a lifelong one.  I know it is hard to remember, but marriages used to be like that.  As long as you don’t betray me, we are in until death.

*

Interviewing a prospective member for your group?  That is an employee interview.  A member wanting to join and being forced to prove himself in order to do so?  That is a probationary tribal member.  If you watch way too much Netflix, you might have noticed that these topics are being used in the better shows.  The outlaw motorcycle gang one-look at the tasks probationary members went through.  That show with the guy from “The X-Files”?  Not the show “Californication” ( as great as that one was ).  The one where he is a cop and his dealing with Charles Manson.  A very good depiction of a rookie cop earning the loyalty of the tribe ( and the “corruption” which were really just tribal loyalty-some writer was really good with depicting pre-LEO peace officers ).

*

Needing a tribal member, begging for someone to join.  Needing their skill set.  Wanting someone.  These are NOT tribal organizations.  They are current paradigm groups, and they are NOT going to make a successful tribe.  Members NEED you, you don’t need members.  And the best prospective members will prove themselves to you willingly, but be is no position of true need themselves.  Just like you are wooing a date.  You’ll go all out, but if the bitch screws it up, you are OUT!  The basic attitude in both situations is, “look at how good I am proving myself to be-if you are also good enough we can join.  But I don’t NEED you if you aren’t worthy”.

*

As a group, you are better off without that doctor, if you NEED him.  Everyone needs a doctor.  But you must have the attitude that you don’t need him bad enough to alter your rules.  If you must accommodate him,  you don’t WANT him.  You can’t ever be needy.  When you are being defeated in battle, you cannot NEED to survive.  By embracing death, you are more likely to survive.  Your attitude must always be defiant ( when certain groups and nationalities seem to almost genetically transfer to newborns their innate stubbornness [ yes, I know it is cultural and taught, but sometimes is SEEMS to be at least partially genetic ] the ability to remain stubborn under any circumstances, that is a marker of defiance as a survival mechanism ).

*

Being defiant and stubborn, by never being needy, EVER-not even for a doctor if you must beg for him, even if your child needs surgery-you force others to bend to you, to accommodate you, and you will be the victor.  Your tribe will be the more successful.  Binary choice when forming any relationship, marriage or a new tribe.

*

( as a tribal leader, if you used your personal wealth gained through war, to hire a doctor for a single procedure, that is one thing.  It is quite another to compromise the integrity of the group as a whole, to accept the doctor as a member who won’t have unwavering loyalty [ proving your devotion to the group, usually through accepting a terrible choice, establishes your loyalty ].  That weakens the tribe through your compromising out of weakness.  As soon as you make an exception, the trust is broken.  And trust is always far more important than a one-off gain )

  1. I'd much rather have a veterinarian, than an MD. Overall they'd be much more likely to have a general knowledge base to draw on. Not nearly the primadonna attitude either.

    1. I wonder if doctors have just gotten worse, or are we just now realizing they Faked It To Make It all these years?

    2. Their fakery has become institutionalized. The defining act was when they decided they would rather use the government as a collection agency then deal directly with the consumer.

Now they are responsible to no one except maybe the liability lawyers, and they have insurance to buffer that exposure.

If one complains about the treatment (such as being billed for treatment not received), they can slip a note into one's file, observing that you are unstable with violent tendencies.

Vets are much more useful in most cases.

  2. Drs that have worked either in inner cities or in foreign 3rd world countries (like drs without borders group or members of a missionary trip) might have at least some idea of what to do with little to no supplies, the biggest problem is all the younger doctors are so anti-guns, anti-violence, and will probably be unwilling to be a defender much less a raider even if needed...

    1. Well, you'd want to keep the doc safe, just like the breeders. Last ditch self defense only. And, I should have qualified, trauma surgery docs are great at what they do. Doctors treating or diagnosing usually suck.

    2. I got much better medical care aboard the Hospital Ship Hope in Inchon Harbor in 1954 then at my regional cancer center.

      Maybe physical trauma is simple.

    3. Trauma is simple-put the parts back together. 1+1=2. Diagnosing? If part A input is increased by 50%, B input effects C input which in two years decreases Z input & etc. Not so simple. Meh! Just throw a pill at the symptom.

  3. Outstanding article, it is relevant on many more aspects than survivalism.

The only thing I'd add is that some societies aren't even about trading or haggling. If in the Middle Ages your parents/family decided you were destined to serve the Church, there you went. it was destiny.

    1. Hilary as Prez meant nuclear war with Russia. Trump as Prez means nuke war with the NORKS. Vast improvement!

    2. Nuke war with NorK's is much more survivable, and we will WIN (first TOTAL VICTORY with surrendering/eliminated enemy since WWII)! Unless, the Chinese/Russians side with Nork's.

Then, there is the fallout and radiation to go with the GMO/Glyphosate food and post-war devalued non-reserve currency Dolloro.

    3. Well, we didn't win the first war with NORK, and that was with the remnants of the Industrial Army of WWII. Hopefully, someone in The Swamp can remember they have history books disclosing such revelations.

    4. We could have "won" the Korean war if the generals were allowed to loose the dogs of war. This would have been nukes, then chemical weapons, targeting the enemy soldiers as well as the Chinese supply areas. Winning might have been worse than losing/60+ year armistice.

    5. Russia already had nukes. Even w/o a delivery system being viable, just nuke Seoul. Or, more likely than that worry, the Cold War was about the arms race, not the winning.

  5. Elko junk land, but currently living in the PRK minion here. For a while now I’ve had the desire to purchase a small, concealable pistol, to carry around the property. It’s been many years since I’ve purchased a gun, and I was aware that the gun laws suck here, but it’s gotten far worse since the last time I purchased a gun. In short, practically every gun that I looked at is not on the Kalifornia approved roster of firearms. The little black widow revolver that peace out suggested, would have been perfect, but it’s not legal here. I post this mainly as a warning to those that might actually be considering moving to this shithole of state, that they should definitely consider such a move carefully.

This is just one of many issues that make this state undesirable. The CA sanctuary state bill imposed by Brown has already passed the senate. And CA has now removed the statute of limitations on sexual assault. Long story short, this now means that a girlfriend of decades prior, that has an ax to grind with you, can now claim that you assaulted her way back when, and you’re screwed. Basically more of the same #metoo crap that hollywood is currently undergoing.

Stay as far away from this fucked up state as you can folks, if you know what’s good for you!

    1. I though the state in the early 90's was humped up. I can't believe what I read about it now. And I certainly cannot believe the idiots feel threatened by a weapon design from almost two centuries ago. I guess black powder weapons are the next on the banned list. All butcher knives. Any sharp stick, followed by man portable rocks.

    2. If you can handle a slightly larger gun, try the Ruger LCR .22. It's CA approved.

      https://ruger.com/products/lcr/specSheets/5410.html

I think the actual retail is about $100 less than MSRP. I have this little gun and love it. For me it shot about 1" groups at 15 yards, and repeated torso hits at 100 yards. There is a slight "shelf" at the very end of the trigger pull where you can pause and shoot just as accurately as a single action. (I also tried the LCR-X version with the exposed hammer and 3" barrel and didn't like it anywhere as much.) Fits perfectly in my hands. One caution though, somewhere around 50+ rounds the cylinder rotation starts to get a little gritty from the dirtiness of the .22 round. This is when you know it's time to clean the front end of the cylinder and the area where it meets the forcing cone of the barrel. I only used CCI Mini-Mags and Velocitors, and had 100% ignition reliability.

On topic for today, I recommend this book for being your own doctor as much as possible after they're no longer available at the hospital...

    3. I forgot to add, the big brother to the Black Widow is the Mini-Master with a 4" barrel. It's CA approved (all single actions over 7.5" are automatically approved). You want the fixed sight model because the sights are less likely to snag during a hurried draw and the adjustment screw on the adjustable sight model is prone to loosen itself under recoil.

      https://northamericanarms.com/shop/firearms/naa-mmc/

You can hide it easily with one of NAA's leather inside the waistband holsters.

      Peace out

    4. So far they haven’t bothered with black powder, but I wouldn’t be surprised. I don’t know why old style guns such as single action revolvers aren’t all together exempt as with the black powder guns. Criminals don’t use those things.

It’s only going to get worse, but eventually it will be on the federal level, and at that point you hope to be living way out, and already have any weapons that you would wish to secure already in place along with ammo. And that’s another fucked up law that started with the first of the year. We can no longer buy ammo through the mail. And you have 23 weeks left to register your assault weapons. Yeah, right…. :D

Home invasions are a thing now thanks to retards bringing in 3rd world diversity so they can crow about their virtue whilst the nation descends into tyranny (the only way multicultural societies can function is under the yoke of a Police state).

Yeah, I have gats but no handguns & I'm not carrying a long arm around the house.

I'm not so sure about the FedGov level of gun control. Cali used to be the bellweather but there seems to be far less correlation than before. The feds can use Food Control, and not have to worry about 1001 Ruby Ridge situations. Cali, everyone just grins and spreads their ass cheeks wider.

  6. “I forgot to add, the big brother to the Black Widow is the Mini-Master with a 4" barrel. It's CA approved (all single actions over 7.5" are automatically approved).”

Thanks for the suggestions peace out. Yes, it’s the mini-master that I’m currently considering in the .22/.22 mag. Didn’t know that you had a choice on the sights, so good to know. Would have preferred the more compact black widow, but it was not to be. My #1 choice would be the Ruger LCR, but for some reason it costs significantly more in certain calibers, than others, and I’m on a tight budget. And since I already have a 9mm, I’d rather not add a 2nd caliber to my arsenal, by getting the more cost friendly LCR in .38 special. The original plan was to get the LCR in 9mm and get a Lee Loader, to load for both of my 9mm guns.

I’ve included the link to SB 15 exempt handguns. Any single action revolver of at least 7.5” overall length, with no less than a 3” barrel, and that have at least a 5 cartridge capacity are exempt.

    https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/agweb/pdfs/firearms/infobuls/0007.pdf

Another alternative is to buy a cartridge conversion cylinder for my Colt 1849 Wells Fargo cap and ball for .32 S&W. But that gun, as small as it is, still weighs 1.5lbs, so I don’t think I’ll go that route.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Cont….

Yeah, I just don’t get the logic behind these stupid CA gun laws. “Must be a single action revolver with a capacity of 5 shots or more.” So you can’t have one with 4 shots or less? You can’t get the black widow, yet you can have the much smaller, and concealable NAA .22LR with the 1.125” barrel? It just doesn’t make sense. Clearly the idiots making these laws have almost no knowledge of real firearms.

    1. If you can't get out of Cali, it seems that the way to buy guns is out of state and smuggled back. Hold on there: if you can do this, you can get out and just AREN'T. If a person got older models, they could claim to have always had them. I'd be surprised if there were not some people who make a good part-time income moving the commonest center-fire and rim-fire cartridges into the CA coastal metro areas without official paperwork.
California just removed the Statute of Limitations from "sexual" offenses (allegations) with the police/media never-ever taking the side of the accused including massive legal-financial-civil penalties without conviction.
I miss California of the 1990's (rlly! Cocaine Wars and Rooftop Koreans during Burning LA) and understand how my grandparents really loved living in San Diego before WWII (a different America, with perfect weather 330+ days a year).

    2. I can't see ammo being profitable except as a black market item ( as in, totally illegal ). You would have to smuggle by the semi to negate the cost/profit issue. I never missed Cali other than adjusting culturally to the outside.

    3. Elko minion here. Legally, even when entering the state, you must report all weapons you bring in, to the DOJ. In my opinion it would be foolish for someone to do so, but it is the law. Yes, you are right pdxr13. I could/should leave, and it’s mostly slacking off on my part as to why I haven’t relocated to Elko yet.

No doubt at all on your theory about the illegal weapons trade. That’s the sheer folly of gun laws. Those that the guns are meant to be kept from have all the connections to get them outside of legal channels. Us honest citizens don’t associate with such types, and these laws apply only to us.

    4. I wouldn't beat yourself up about leaving. Change is programmed into us to be bad. It can take awhile.

    5. Thanks Jim. I hope to get out there, if only temporarily, this year. I’m currently living in an RV at my mothers place in the country. The home cooked meals and grid power are hard to give up. I guess I’m somewhat using the excuse that since my dad is no longer around, that my 74 year old mother needs me. Which to a point, is true. Still, a time will come when I will need to move on, so the Elko land will definitely see use.

      Delete
    6. Well, you can't exactly not work in Elko, and keep running back as her health fails, economically speaking. You just keep on keeping on and wait until she passes, and keeping a good bug out plan. Get a Nevada state atlas. You need side roads getting you past the population of Reno and a good plan to get past the dry area between Fernly and Lovelock ( from Lovelock you can follow the river the rest of the way )

    7. Can the drunken brother be watching her? Or do you need to keep coming back to do it yourself? At least commuting gives you options without committing.

    8. He’s somewhat handicapped, but he can watch her to a point Jim. At this point in time, my mother is still in good shape, and is also quite active. We also have family nearby.

But the clutter around this place is just awful, and truth be told, I’d like to be as far away from this place as possible when the inevitable time comes. The person that has to clear up this estate has their work cut out for them. Ultimately though, it will probably be me. I don’t see my 50 year old brother that goes through 2 or 3 of those 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, as well as a 30 pack of beer per week, living more than another decade, and I’m probably being generous with that estimate.
