careful what you wish 2

CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH 2
The powers that be, in my opinion the central bank, perhaps in your opinion Alien Reptilian Overlords, have been playing the long game of ever tightening control. They elect a Democrat, shove some commie crap down our throats ( that subsequent Republicans never seem to get around to repealing ), then give us a Republican that pretends to be free market and Bill Of Rights, but spends all of their time just letting in more illegal aliens, shipping jobs overseas and being good little fascists ( and admittedly, that is preferable to communism ). Then a Democrat is elected to bring back more government control over corporate rapine.
*
Then taxes go up and California does really stupid Soviet crap and then a Republican is elected to be fascist instead of communist, AGAIN, and nothing changes but every few years you can visibly track the loss of freedom. And if you look out over the sea of voters, they are all lapping this up as mothers milk, fighting over the bone thrown them by the elite, squabbling as if their pathetic lives can alter national policy. Like ants that keep going after the sugar water, even as you once again burn them up with a magnifying glass.
*
The point is that all these brainwashed masses take their politics very seriously. They have to, to maintain the illusion that they are not milk cows drained daily until too old, then slaughtered. They will jump through any amount of hoops and mental gymnast equipment to shelter themselves from reality. They will go to their graves protecting those ill thought out dogmas. So yes, Republicans will go to war to protect “Mah Constitution” and Democrats will fight to the death to “protect the children”. It would be embarrassing if anyone saw the issue.
*
Orange Man Bad isn't just a slogan of a bunch of spoiled little three year old's ( mentally ) who already had things all their way for eight years, although that is true on a certain superficial level. These idiots actually think that Republicans ( although, AGAIN, Trump is a RINO ) are evil incarnate and they are an actual life and death threat to any of the Gentle People, the Compassionate Ones, the tree huggers and Diversity Is Our Strength crowds and the Alt Energy Saves The Planet idiots. Now, I'm not saying they are necessary wrong. I'm just saying their party is as bad as our party.
*
Our”. How sad we feel we have to claim those gaggles of jackals, those bloated windbags blowing sunshine up our ass the same time they are trying to screw us up the ass. That is the only reason they aren't very good at it, because of the physical impossibility. But they try! But you cannot convince anyone of any of this. They are are a bunch of Alibi Ike's. But, but, it was a protest vote. But, but, Hilary must be stopped. But, but, corporations bad. This is what is called a predicament, rather than a problem. Everyone WANTS it to be a problem, so they can solve it.
*
What is the predicament? It isn't control for wealth. That would be a problem. It is control for a shrinking amount of resources for more people. The resources are not coming back, because they have been used up. The most sustainable organic farm must constantly add inputs. Otherwise you are just mining the soil. If there are no more inputs ( crapping in the compost from eating the food grown isn't an input. You have still taken away more than put in. It has a name, and thy name is entropy ) the system eventually breaks.
*
A predicament means you are hosed. And everyone listened too closely in grade school and think Exceptional Americans do not have predicaments ( “just add more petroleum!” ). It is only a problem because we have Yankee ingenuity, by gum and golly! No one wants to say, well, lube me up because I cannot avoid getting violated. Even though you have been, all your life. This is why I'm NOT fond of optimists. Pessimists STILL refuse to acknowledge we are in a predicament, but optimists not only deny that, they glory in their misdiagnosed condition. AND, far worse even than that, want to drag ME down into their fantasy.
*
Yes, I WAS a nerd. Yes, I DID play Dungeons & Dragons, and read Tolkien fantasy tomes. I USED to be into fantasy, until one day it just didn't sooth my soul anymore. Luckily, for me, alcohol unlocked the dark and dank nature of my fellow man. I lost innocence and understood that wallowing in lands of the imagination did not dull the pain. Neither did copious extra amounts of alcohol, although I tried anyway for some time. I had to face the reality ( as much as any of us does, of course ). And now, gentle minions, I don't buy into fantasy worlds anymore. Embrace The Suck.
*
Trump is NOT the target. He will be squirreled away at some Cold War bunker, stuffing freeze dried yak ass into his pie hole as this staff is eaten by mobs of vegetarians at the White House. Then, anyone who supported Trump ( read, isn't a communist ) becomes the next target because they cannot find Trump. And before you automatically dismiss this with “freedom, protect guns”, you are once again committing the sin of ONLY looking at things through a political lens. The economy just crapped the bed. Food isn't getting to the markets. Things just went past politics into animal survival.
*
Politics will be used, as a target identifier. But the mobs, they just want to kill somebody. They don't realize it, but they will be reducing the population so as to more easily survive with limited resources ( The Economy Just Melted Down!!! Resources WILL, I repeat for the short bus kids, WILL be scarce through lack of structure to distribute. Do NOT play the “'Murica Feeds The World” card on me. Without distribution, production means dingus ).
*
Do you want Rwanda? Because this is how you get Rwanda. Half the population turns on the other half, to have enough food for some, rather than not enough for all. This is how things are done, throughout history. A pretext ignites the tinder that feeds the depopulation. The pretext this time will be political. Not because we REALLY care about politics. We don't care, as much as we DO believe in out home team. We care about comfort and security. “Our” team provides that. The politics are just virtue signaling, the wearing of a uniform.
*
You wanted Trump, you got Trump. You also got targeted by the communists. They HAVE already been waging economic war. Lawsuits, hiring practices, keeping you off campus, hiring only their kind, massive gun control and etcetera. The next step is a hot war. They will draw first blood. Understand, they already have. They falsely accuse and their lawyer minions and toady judges throw you in jail where their Black Shirts violently inject AIDS into you until you die. The violence on THEIR side has already begun. You, poor deluded fool, think you are Team Red America, fighting Team Blue America.
*
But they are not Americans. They understand this, and you do not, and play by the old rules. If we understood better, all of us would already have Charles Bronson'ed their asses ( not that I advocate violence. It is too late anyway, for a violent political victory. Only a violent decentralized post America local victory is possible now ). You MUST understand that at the first sign of Grape Soda Shortages, the communists Spicy Times begins. Economics and Trump is a pretext. Resource control is the necessity. You cannot see it, still blinded by nation state worship.
*
Your enemies see it. They are already Tribed Up ( the infighting you see is merely the Scottish clans still fighting each other even as all fight the British. Or, the Afghans do today with the Americans). Don't get too distracted by Beer Bat Bug. You have multiple parties targeting you. Got wheat? Got ammo?

As far back as I can remember, my mother always had a couple of horses. I remember friends and family offering to come and shovel horse shit out of our stalls, but of course, as a kid, I couldn’t quite wrap my head around such a shitty hobby :D One uncle raised worms for fishing, and had a couple of really nice beds set up, filled with fat worms. The worm castings and aeration created by the worms, enrichen the soil to an even greater degree.

Pre-collapse, I consider horses to be pretty damn useless, and are currently, the hobby of little rich girls. However, the lowly equine will make a comeback, that you can be sure of. For anyone considering this (And while I’m not recommending that anyone does, you will be the Henry Ford of the post apocalypse, perhaps minus the jew hating :D ) the keywords here are plenty of pasture (You don’t actually want to pay to feed these damn things) and bulletproof fencing. On the other hand, as long as they have plenty of pasture, they won’t as likely destroy the fencing. The problem comes when they run short on grazing, and try to poke their heads onto the other side of the fence.

I only bring this up, because I know that there are certain minions that are interested in keeping horses.

    1. No, good discussion. The "experts" say, you must practice the skills. But if every single prepper had land to practice farming and livestock, no one could afford the prices from the increased demand.

    2. I don’t know this Jim. But I’m going to make an educated guess, that you can no longer just mosey up to the local horse stable, and casually inquire, “Hey, mind if I shovel up some free horse shit for my garden?” :D You see, once the value of something becomes known, you’re not likely going to get it for free ever again (Formerly free lead for bullet making, thick plastic barrels, and metal shipping containers, comes to mind).

Some years back, I worked at a landscape supply center. While the concept of “landscaping” is lost on me, it’s apparently a big deal to rich blues. One of our biggest sellers was these gawd awful wretched, big volcanic boulders, that were simply titled as “moss rocks” (Yeah, people actually paid money to place these things in their yard). Well, at first, the farmers paid you to come and remove them. Then they paid you nothing. And finally, you had to pay them to come and get them.

Moral of the story? If it’s currently free, and of value, get it now, while you still can.

    3. Even if it has no value, the gov will pass a law outlawing it or using it to make money for someone. To think you used to be able to salvage houses and cars, food and other necessities ( old timey hippies )

Unless you intend to travel a lot post apocalypse I think a span of oxen is far better suited to PEASANT ag. Oxen can consume a lower quality feed and perform tougher tasks better. Horses, while faster, don't break heavy sod nearly as well plus they require higher quality feed and concentrate (grain) during sustained work periods. Oxen though need several daily rest times for rumination.
It's like story of tortoise and hare.

Also the gear for oxen ag is spit bucket simple. Handhewn yoke(s) and tongue is pretty much it.
'Running gear' for draft horses requires lots of specialized equipment from metal snaps and collars to harnesses & eveners. Also shoes if ridden/driven over hard ground/concrete.

Oxen are definitely post apocalypse for food production lifestyles.

After oxen have been worked hard from yrs 3 to 8 you can always make sausage. Horse flesh just hadn't tickled taste buds of most Americans.
Besides, horses are just looking for a way to piss you off or kick you and then run off at inopportune times.

Our host is more the raider type based on his writings but I hear no updates on BLM mustangs (sigh!). His inner Comanche is on foot...oh the shame.

    5. There should be enough recycled bicycles available-in theory, hard to time the China factory situation-to get through till horse infrastructure is secured.

    6. Before WW1, bicycle infantry was compared to horse cavalry. Bicycle men travel faster with more, cheaper. But, bicycles don't reproduce themselves. On the horse side, tack doesn't reproduce itself.
Bicycle Militia is what the next time around needs to take the place of expensive standing army (cough, National Guard). -pdxr13

    7. 7:33 here. Good suggestions Anon()(), thanks. Hadn’t given much thought to the shoeing issue, and that’s a good point, as you have to be your own farrier as well. We don’t actually shoe any of our horses, but they are also never ridden.

Good point on the meat for food, and feed requirement issue. Another important consideration is breed. One of my mother’s horses is an Arabian. Unlike their human counterpart, you don’t have to worry about them sawing your f _ _ king head off with one of those big curved knives :D But they are very high strung, and will stomp a hole in you if you aren’t careful.

    8. PDX-if I'm recalling correctly, the Germans still had a pretty good component of bicycle transportation in WWII.

    9. Horses can go MANY more places than any bike. EVER!
As much as I despise U.S. Grant, his campaign against Vicksburg was piece of classic strategem. Boats disembarked his army south of city & his army feinted east. Then he did a left hook to encircle the city.

His cavalry 'went dark' no one knew where he was. Destroyed telegraph & rail roads were only sign of their passing.
Try to do that with bikes.

Staying with bikes pretty much keeps you on known paths/roads AKA 'line of drift' or ambush alleys. I don't see Americans pushing a loaded bike along some 21st C. version of Ho Chi Minh trail.

Shoeing horses, I guess, really only an issue if same horse is carrying load or rider for days at a stretch. But if you have a string of 3 or 4 you can rotate and give hooves a rest. But practically speaking only .001% have a string of fit horses ready to go (think dude ranches or WY hunting guides).

Anyway, I'm thinking 'shoot & scoot' will be the future of conflict.

      Tkk, Tkk, giddy up!

    10. Horses are superior compared to bikes, long term. Short term, the embedded energy in bike is superior. It is just a tool to get you into a horse infrastructure which will take time.

  2. Correct. The Minions overall objective in totality is not "prepping" and contingency game playing for each newly bantered about fear scenario of the day topic. It is more of an aloof, distant, critical thinking process of proper assessing and susbsequently contending with the real time, on the ground circumstances in their own little "2 kilometer A.O".

The trip wire that is going to frag a Meandering Minion is going to be a totally left field out of sight and mind problem arising that no amount of prep hoarding and gear queering can 'cure'.

Today's spaz out subject matter, will be substituted for a newer drama to restart the news cycle and reassert more forms of human controls, along with the resource expropriations.

  7. Hi James, your thoughts are profound and realistic considering the days we are going through now. Loved the tone of sarcasm used throughout the piece. In reality, although if we could instill the thought of rebellion in people's minds, the power to vote is never exercised in full fledge. This is one of the underpinnings of how politicians abuse their sympathy card.
