beat down for ollie

BEAT DOWN FOR OLLIE-post 1 today
*
NOTE!  I'm accelerating my posting so that a week from now what I did write wasn't irreverent.  I'm only going to post two or three days in advance now instead of a week.  You'll get double articles a day to use up those extra articles.  Then, I'll post one full length article a day ( minimum 1k words ) and any updates I feel I need in much shorter articles.  Such as the ammo shortage.  You'll find it mentioned in an upcoming article, originally meant for a week from now.  By that time, it is too late, and you've already been updated at the end of a regular article as a note, or in the comments section ( I advise you read these to stay immediately up to date ).
*
NOTE, continued.  I plan on returning to my NON-topical subject matter, in long overdrawn detail, IF and that is a big if, things return to normal.  But seeing the ever accelerating situation, I can't see, at least at present, clinging  stubbornly to the old format.  If you don't care for that, if I am wrong about this temporary change in your eyes, please feel free to let me know.  It isn't that I'm going to be Instant News that can necessarily help you, but at least I won't be hopelessly out of date.  On to the regular article.
*
You all know my undisguised feelings towards Optimistic Ollie's. Not my favorite people. Now, that is not to say I hate you if you are optimistic. You honestly cannot help yourself. You are hardwired. And only pain reprograms hardwired behaviors. If you haven't suffered enough pain, your brain keeps its faulty programming. Well, guess what? It is time for a beat down, you cheery sonsa bitches. Hey, I have nothing against cheerfulness. I used to giggle like a little school girl every Monday, just pouring on the Happy, making everybody with The Monday's even more miserable and sad.
*
Yes, sorry, it's true. I get abnormally cheerful at the delicious irony of other peoples suffering. To be fair, I laugh at myself quite a bit. Why not laugh at the human condition? We bring all this suffering on ourselves. We might as well enjoy our own dumbassness. Take that unhappy Monday. Why are you unhappy? Your job sucks. Why does your job suck? Because you can't quit. Why can't you quit? You have bills and obligations. Why do you have bills and obligations? Because you are a dumbass, valuing a huge amount of pain and suffering at work to avoid a little bit of pain and suffering at home, should you live within your means and not be pampered and wallowing in luxury.
*
The wife made you do it? Or did YOU let the wife make you do it? You avoided a small amount of pain there, also. Then, a thousand small cuts later, you do not enjoy your job, your wife, your life. You, my fine feathered friend, are a dumbass. I'm not supposed to laugh at you? See what I mean? Now, to today's absurd condition. Very bad things are happening. Why? Because we kept avoiding a little pain here and a little pain there. And now, a flu that's not as bad as THE flu is kicking our ass.
*
Let me try to put this in perspective. We had a Spanish Flu a century ago. It came on the heels of a world war, where, literally, an entire generation of young were machine-gunned down. Even the US, coming in at the last minute, because why help France after she fought for our independence, only helping after JP Morgan's profits were endangered, lost as many men as in the ten years in Vietnam. The Spanish Flu killed more than combat did, doubling that number. The Spanish Flu WAS the real deal, worse than some of the years of the Black Death ( but only because by then Europeans had a lot more immunity ).
*
Did the economy melt down after the Spanish Flu? Did any of our manufacturing slow down because of the Spanish Flu? Not just NO, but probably the exact opposite. Everything went along just fine. The Spanish Flu killed millions, and Beer Virus kills a few thousand. Yet this time, the entire world is spinning apart like a Chinese designed high speed motor getting hit by debris. Now, I could bore you to tears talking about energy, the Oil Age, and etcetera, but I feel sorry for you. Especially now that your beloved Fracking Fuel industry is SO close to mortal destruction, the day I write this oil down near two thirds since Beer Virus started ( at least the opening after horrendous loses on the futures markets ).
*
I'll just say that, like a terrible marriage, we as a civilization just kept making the easy choices to deal with problems. And it is now biting us on the ass. Our energy situation guarantees collapse, but as per usual throughout history, we make it worse for ourselves by our desperate clutching of luxury and decadence, our greed and laziness. The generation coming of age during this next die-off will be tougher and more pragmatic, more disciplined and realistic. They will make the hard choices, and flourish. But eventually their heirs will become once again soft and gooey marshmallow men. The cycle always completes.
*
If you look at Rome, it lasted about five centuries. Yes, I'm aware of the “10 generation” theory ( Glubb? ). It is a great theory, but I've always been hesitant to accept it. Rome doubled that, and what about China? And now, the European Empire also has doubled that record. You can look at the US empire of 250 years, to conform to the theory, but I look at European Colonialism as lasting 500 years ( France still had economic vassals even after formal colonial dissolution, and Britain had an informal change of leadership over to the US, the former Brit colonies under de facto US control ).
*
The empire was European, the game lasting much longer as administrative control shifted from one failed area to another more vibrant one. And before you bring up Eastern Rome, stop. Culturally, the two empires were completely different. I don't view them as the same entity. But however you do the math, empires don't always last 250 years. The Soviets come to mind. They controlled and or allied with over half the globes population, if not half the landmass. They were a real empire. And please don't chant happy capitalist songs. Your uber-capitalist country is imploding right now. How are we so much better than communism?
*
Don't get me wrong. Go Team Red! Kill A Commie For Mommy! Death To Smurf Forces! I hate communism. But that doesn't make oligarchical globalism better. Globalism, waving the banner of laze-faire capitalism, was merely a wealth transfer in disguise. That we lapped up like poisoned milk. We have to own that complicity. We made the easy choices of acceptance and weary resignation. We let everything decline and collapse, culturally. Not that we really had any choice. Once something is historically inevitable, you can't stop the underlying forces. An empire always rises ( except during the Dark Age ) and it always falls. You can fight the trend, but the causes win.
*
Beer Flu is no problem, barely an inconvenience. But the whole rotted system was far past due to collapse. It should have happened in 2005. No way the inevitable should have been postponed past 2008. But we did it, with helicopter money. The problem now being, after too many heavy loads without maintenance, the helicopter burnt out its engine. That is why tripling down on the money drop is no longer working. You have Fed workers pushing the blades by hand, and kicking out the cash to be picked up by any spare breeze. They are no longer airborne.
*
Do you REALLY believe we recover from yet another financial and energy emergency, or can you finally accept that optimism is no longer warranted? What does it take to change your mind? Unemployment? Homelessness? Divorce? All three at once? Yeah, sorry, if that marriage was held together by your optimism and ass kissing, expect an illicit liquidation of assets and a hasty clandestine departure. All these pampered Barbie Princesses who grew up in societies tender embrace, earning participation trophies and demanding a stop to Fat Shaming actually think some other poor shlub will want to support their sorry ass.
*
If you think the economic collapse is a done deal, as is a divorce, better lose the employment prior to her leaving you. Otherwise, no mercy in the divorce court. Quit the job, liquidate, move to junk land. Buy two acres, one for her so she gets half the assets. Just saying. I hereby officially proclaim that this crap is going to get real, and a lot worse than we think. Buckle up, Ollie.

note: Holy Friggin Crap Stain, Batman!  Sunday afternoon the Fed lowered interest rate one full percentage point to ZERO!!!  As an afterthought, why not throw another $700 billion of liquidity in?  Not a problem, barely an inconvenience.  If, which I doubt, the market rallies, it will only be a day day affair, me thinks.  More likely, it just proves to everyone the bankers have lost control.  This is not only a giant size popcorn for the best show ever, it has cocaine and unicorn sprinkles on top.  Am I entertained now? Oh, hell yeah!

  1. Yep. As low to the ground Minion, after having already been personally crushed by all of the previous micro collapses, this situation is actually making me giddy with joy. Having to already eat hardships due to the society and systems already screwing over the common man in many various ways already, I will have some popcorn while all of the foolhardy normies eat some crow. Choke on it suckers!

  2. I like it when people report on food shortages and other issues in their area.

Food fight in Georgia at Sam's Club. Two men fight with broken wine bottles!

    1. Just remember, the first reports of anything in this Beer Bat Bug situation always go national shortly. Violence over food will be the new norm, soon.

  3. Field report, NorCal Bay Area. My place of employment is a Continuing Care Retirement Community aka a Raisin Ranch. Last week we started screening all visitors, by Friday no visitors allowed and employees are now being screened and temperatures taken before all shifts, every day. Over the weekend one of the Raisins was confirmed positive for the Beer Bug, by 8pm we had a sanitation crew in house disinfecting all the public areas we couldnt lock down outright. All HVAC systems shut down to avoid transmission, new filters going in, etc. Today All non critical personnel was asked to leave...And we're just getting started.
Prep wise, I was out and about over the weekend, shelves are super low but not stripped bare. We're set for a good 3 months easily if everything goes to hell today, but Im making a point of grabbing a few things every couple days while I still can. Tried to get some 9mm ammo on Friday but the shop wasnt selling that day, got them to give me a raincheck for the sale price, then went back Saturday. Waited half an hour for help, couldn't get it and had to go to work...so I'll have to live with what Ive got on hand. Went to the ATM last night and it was out of $20 bills, so I got 4 $100's and a hundred in 10s. Stopped at another ATM at 6:45am today, 25 miles away, also out of $20s, but pulled another $500 out, jic. Wife and daughter both teach (private school), school shut down after classes Friday, until early April... Things are getting weird.
On a bright note, my cancelled order of Wally Wheat and oats showed up on Saturday! What a bunch of morons they are...
Stay frosty and flexible, fellow Minions!

    1. Raisin Ranch! Holy crap dude. LOL. I don't think I've heard that one before. Weird is probably an understatement, but at this point, yeah, words kind of fail.

  4. So, the Vegas school system, (clark county k-12=300k pupils) gets closed. But seeing a "need" to continue to feed the poor waif kids who would surely starve with ribs showing like those foreign kids on t.v. commercials for charity fronts, they will have 15 drive up pick up locations for "food pods" (their term) distributions. Of course the news media is on hand for coverages as well to calm baby mommas worrying. They were proudly providing little grocer type bags of vending machine types of factory food and single serve snacks. Pathetic. Things in Merica are really obviously that hollow, when schools that are just acting as daycare and feeding centers are being curtailed and it causes tailspins throughout that society.

Is there an actual plug or switch somewhere that can just be pulled by some initiative orientated chap to hurry up this collapse and die off thing along faster?

If known please advise, asking for a friend.

    1. Ask your friend, if they cannot restock TP, how are they going to restock food? We should be seeing things go south that quick. Watch these pods get jacked by diversity gangs.

Haha! I couldn’t help but think of that fat chick from all in the family, hosting those feed the children commercials. That’s about as convincing as Rosie O’Dumbbell peddling a diet plan :D

Remember the AIDs weight loss program from about the early 80’s? (Yeah, they had to rename that one :D )

  5. It is now becoming a race and competition by politicians, businesses, etc to demonstrate their own special versions of virtue signalling actions. (Like corporate "we care" feel good programs) It is spreading a disfunctional psychosis more damaging to systems than a low body count flu season is in the first instance.

As an example the reno mayor (girl power!, females bring sensitivities to leadership positions!) Has edicted closures of bars casinos etc etc etc. Now Jim's Elko and other Minionite hermitages as an example are going to get invaded and trampled by yuppies in suvs and r.v.s. those marshmallow humanoids will pour out of urban and suburbs seeking places "not closed", or perceived safer than there own personal shithole locations. They've been bejeebies scared already by the media, and their own fragilities being exposed. It will now at this point just take a quick rifle like crack sound or incident to set the stampede and panic in motion. Stay tuned.

    1. People will shelter in place, from lack of funds. Your stock holding just went POOF! What finances the move out of the city?

    2. Example houston swelling with detritis from new orleans post katrina. Merika is a mobile society by cultural practices and ability. A lot of the lower castes that you would not want as "neighbors" do have some stashed money and mobility assets along with clan support to help themselves to your area and amenities. They will squat your public spaces and mooch as much free shit from everything. They are the non anchored that economically gypsy around anyway to were there are gibs and surplus. If just 1/2 of one percent of any heat zone metropolis bolts outward in an incident panic or economic exodus from such examples as the bay area cali, salt lake city, las vegas that is still quite a numerically large army of new dust bowl type okies landing in your area. It can come from anywheres as far as a tank of gas goes, or more. Golden Horde is too nice a term. The local .gov and beard boy militia chums had best be teaming up to seal off the hamlet from the onslaught of Ogres.

    3. Damn, okay, I see your point. Too well. Thanks for that cheery note :)

    4. I'll disagree that lower caste has clan & squirrels away funds to finance relocation.
A few perhaps but 85% do not.
Local politicians (Dem mayor & Chamber Commerce Repub county exec) aided and promoted the relocation from N.O. to Houston.
Formerly all white (few Asian) upper income apartments on west side of town were inundated. Those complexes had vacancies as result of housing boom. Young people had been jumping into suburban single fam houses.

Apartment mgrs & owners needed guaranteed rentals to pay their mortgages & provide dividends which D.C. disaster money provided.
It took YEARS to finally move most out but the damage was done. Those neighborhoods were only about 5 years into recover before flooding from Corps of Engineers mismanagement of their reservoir ravaged the neighborhoods AGAIN (& recent Fed Court dismissed homeowners billion $ suite against Corps).

The lower classes were 'weaponized' by politicos against upper middle income homeowners to benefit huge out of state real estate invest trust companies with thousands of empty apartments.

Former Houston mayor served in Clinton Admin & was mover shaker in state/nat'l Dem party. He was a fundraing 'rainmaker'.

We will see same machinations by Dems as regards Wuhan flu impacts in US. You will see most draconian actions that destroy economic activity in those hotbeds of Dem Party.
Wuhan flu is just another arrow in their quiver against Trump.

The myth of the Golden Horde fleeing ghettos for idyllic lands is just that, a myth. They will only arrive in Mayberry when packaged up and sent by politicos.

I'm surprised you didn't read those tea leaves better Lord Bison. But being 1500 miles away does obscure details.
      Let us persevere.

    5. I was unaware of those dastardly details. I just read the newspapers back then, so got the approved versions. The papers were actually full of news at one time. My level of alt-news was WAY lower at the time. This was back when it took hours to download a file for a floppy disc.

  6. "Especially now that your beloved Fracking Fuel industry is SO close to mortal destruction, the day I write this oil down near two thirds..."

A little over the top there Jim.

    "MORTAL DESTRUCTION"....OMG!

The fields are intact, pumps are maintained and undamaged, pipelines still flow.
The well logs are safety ensconced at HQ, the engineers & techs who were working & managing the fields 2 months ago are still alive (cough, cough). All the computers still whirl away producing 3D graphic animations of geology undreamt of decades ago when I was in school.

The oil is still there...we know how to get it. It's just waiting for us.
It is the lovely 16 year old at the school dance... desperately shy but willing to yield to the right suitor.

The 'Fed', Wall Street, Hell even all of D.C. is ephemeral. Like a prairie seep, they fill in the winter wet and dry up in face of a searing Sun and nonstop wind. There is a season unto everything.

This financial hiccup will pass, they all do. The panicked masses will soon exhaust themselves (or they will simply run out of anti anxiety drugs, hrrumpf!).

After you gone to a few dances you learn that as clumsy as the guy is it is actually the girl who makes them look graceful on the dance floor. The Spice will flow.

Keep your ammo in the can and your wheat buckets sealed. This ain't the Apocalypse.

    1. From Day One, the fracking industry was subsidized. If not by Ollies buying the stock, the bankers giving loans they knew could not be serviced. This financial hiccup happened as the growth rate of fracking oil stopped didn't recover. Connect the two, both are doomed. You Do Not Run A 100 to ! EROI Economy On Fracking Oil!!! You just get to kick the can. And again I repeat, if they ain't replacing the TP, how are they replacing the food? I hope I'm wrong. I know I'm not. I'm begging you, be just a tiny bit paranoid, please. It is for your own good, not mine.

    Yes.
    Yes I do.

For the same reason it has been existing in the first place, a reason I do not know. This thing is $1000 trillion in debt, more money than the planet is worth, but there it is.
