bunker in now

BUNKER IN NOW
Don't get too bogged down in minutia. It is easy to pay too much attention to the stock market or the election results. Those don't matter. What matters is the big picture. And that picture ain't good. The actual disintegration of empire, nation and economy has already started. The economic decline accelerated starting in 2008, roller coaster rode for twelve years and then last September the economic collapse started. The Beer Bug is just here to make sure the job ( the collapse ) is done correctly this time. Don't pay an inordinate amount of attention to the flu, either. When you have this little information, digging too deep is just intensifying false data.
*
The Big Picture isn't difficult. All you need to keep in mind is that Business As Usual is over. Done. Dead. I know few of you can go to ground right now, bugging out to the hermitage. But you can drastically tighten your circle of contact. Your prepping should have been done already. Your last minute topping off should have been completed about eight days ago ( I write this the day after Super Tuesday-let's see how correct I am about the Costco Crowds expanding everywhere by the time you read this ).
*
Now, you aren't planning on driving anywhere else but to work and once in awhile buying fresh produce, are you? Why? Let's go back to last year. I'm pretty sure I told you about the travel agency in Britain that closed its doors overnight and left thousands stranded on their vacation, unable to get back home without ponying up more cash. I think the government stepped in and helped a lot of them. So, if economics alone can stop travel, what do you think a Pandemic Not Named A Pandemic will do?
*
Here is what is going to happen. When it profits the government to deny a pandemic, they will. When there is money for the banker bosses to be made, the pandemic will not exist. Such as now, when airlines are still flying the infected around. When college students are allowed to go on Spring Break. When it isn't in the budget to send out test kits. When they don't want the stock market to crash. Look around you, the profiteering is everywhere. Now, when the government feels like it, suddenly the pandemic will be a real thing.
*
They are already lying, to avoid panic. At a time they deny a pandemic, troops will still force you onto rail cars. They might force you to take a God Knows What's In It vaccine. And, as hinted at above, at the very time you are on vacation, all interstate traffic is suddenly, instantly, no warning, restricted. All travel will clamp down tighter than a hookers thighs the day before payday. I will bet you a jelly filled donut on it. If you get on a plane, you are a flaming moron. But even driving elsewhere, you could be stuck where you don't want to be.
*
What about sudden shortages? I don't mean from China. I mean, nationalizing supplies. Doesn't it seem feasible that might have happened with freeze dried? Realistically, I think it was just a cost saving measure, to reduce inventory, but you also cannot discount the more tinfoil hat version. What if the gov buys up all the bottled water? All the canned meats? What if no more dried milk shows up on the shelves after this last panic buy, as the gov pulls a “commandeering” stunt? Sure, they pay for it. But none of us get the opportunity.
*
Surgeries were complicated nearly a year ago as vital drugs had been diverted to Swine Ebola in China ( do you wonder if perhaps after all the insecticides go to the middle east that we see those shortages here? ), and that was when the factories were open. Care to guess how long before our entire medical care systems implodes from lack of medicines ( not to mention plastic disposables )? Economically the system was already a zombie. Now, logistically, we are all hosed. Who looks silly now, refusing to go to the doctor? Not that I'm claiming foresight.
*
Just as crime is set to explode as everyone goes off their meds, the trauma rooms will be closing down. At least the debate whether to socialize medicine or not won't matter anymore. The government can finally get their wish to kill off all the Social Security precipitants, after occupying Afghanistan to get the opium to Kevorkian them didn't work fast enough ( almost makes you wonder if the US set off the Beer Bug Bomb to kill off its useless eaters lying helpless in the nursing homes ).
*
And before you go all nuclear on me because your paycheck comes from a hospital, I do acknowledge that the US has some of the best trauma medical personnel on the planet. No one else has so many gunshot wounds or car wrecks, nor as many wars for extra training. For diagnostics, for non-drug treatments, for almost anything but trauma, the US medical system blows rabid monkey ass. There are a LOT of snake oil salesmen and outright hacks ( but, institutionalized, not individually initiated. Like crooked cops, by themselves law abiding but working for rancid institutions ).
*
Is it me, or did anyone else notice the supreme idiocy of the last Surgeon General? I don't mean the “masks don't work for you, but for our professionals in scrubs” fiasco. I mean, the statement itself was retarded because there were no masks to be had by civilians, WEEKS if not a month prior to him making the press release. It is almost as if he thinks a magical elf is in charge of restocking the shelves, like most people view food ( “it just appears as needed, so we never must worry about needing anything. We are 'Murica, technologically advanced, we must have Star Trek Replicators” ). This is almost as bad as the flip flopping mush mouth emperors without clothes at the WHO and the CDC ( “if we don't test, we can't have a pandemic” ).
*
Any institution that survives by fraud and force of monopoly has a definite shelf life, so that pretty much covers ALL institutions here and in the industrialized capitalist west. Banking is obviously the first to go ( despite how they limp along mortally wounded ) and it has, but since their squid suckers are attached to everything they can somehow limp along. But they are already zombies. I hate having their paper currency, but even that is better than ANYTHING in digital. Get out of digital NOW. Even if the Beer Bug had never come along, the liquidity crisis is 2008 Redux, and if nothing was fixed back then, the Derivatives implosion THIS time is going to be exponentially worse.
*
I cannot tell you to cash in your IRA, or sell your house to junk land downgrade ( with the balance in silver buried under the RV ). All I can tell you is that if it was me, that is exactly what I would do. I can also only tell you that I knew last September we were screwed, but I didn't know when. With China's factories closed, and assuming they stay that way, this IS the end game. Digital wealth is worth exactly the paper it is printed on ( which is none, in case you didn't pick up on that ). Continued tomorrow.

  1. I got brave and ventured out today for the first time in a couple weeks. Gas prices are dropping fast and so filled a few more cans. Stabilized of course...so far no panic observed.
LOL I do hear TP is rationed now, along with bleach and most all other sanitizing stuff.
I expect the LOL to get sent home on vacation soon. All's the better far as I'm concerned. Then the two of us can just lock the gates down and hang out for the duration.

    1. Family Dollar as of about five days ago ( I lose track of the days ), only the affordable TP was missing. Tons of bleach, but almost no other sanitizing/cleaning products. I went out to buy wet food for the cat, who we babysit as one of the renters goes a week or two at a time visiting his squeeze. Perfect renter, you never hear him. Yes, I must bribe the cat for his love. I'm okay with that. :)

  2. All males bribe for luv, some just lie about it. I did the Spud this morning, went to Walmart. I'm in the VA health fiasco and I'm required to get a yearly check up once a year otherwise they boot me out. My deadline was today, so I went. The VA clinic is a mile from Walmart, so I went there too. Bought 30 more cans of the GV white chicken and some other stuff. The shelves seemed stocked normal except for the TP aisle. Completely vacant, not a square to spare (Seinfeld pun). Never seen that before. We have plenty anyway. Wally had bottled water stacked to the rafters. Everybody had at least 1 case in their cart. The foot traffic at Wally was a little higher than normal and the restaurants I passed were slammed at lunchtime. Gas was $1.99 everywhere. Yanked all but $200 out of my bank. I don't plan to leave again until....well, if Rural King has a down and durty sale on my particular ammo I might venture out. Otherwise, there's no place like home, as Dorothy famously said.

    1. I am rather surprised there has been no bank holiday so far. Knock on wood. And I should mention, as per my above comment, plenty of foo-foo scented bleach, just no plain bleach. Not sure what that means.

    2. I don't think you can use the foo foo for drinking water

    3. Correct. But that shouldn't stop it being used as disinfectant, right? So, why not a run on those also?

    4. Forgot. I also picked up 2 more bags of pool shock in the garden center @ $5.99 each. I already had 2 bags. I keep them in a Maxwell House plastic coffee container that I wrote POOL SHOCK on the lid and all 4 sides with a black Sharpie. Inside the container lid I wrote, with a thin Sharpie, the recipe for mixing, and put 2 pair of nitrile gloves in there too.

  3. At the time I'm posting the stock market is down to 21500. Killing pensions and 401k's.

  4. Just discovered this dude:

John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill, DSO & Bar, MC & Bar (16 September 1906 – 8 March 1996), was a British Army officer who fought in the Second World War with a longbow, bagpipes, and a Scottish broadsword.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Churchill

Upon reading the passage about going to war with a sword and longbow, I was flabbergasted. To be honest, prior to this, I pretty much just thought of the English as an entire country of limp wristed lefties, with faggy sounding accents. But it appears that I’m going to have to reevaluate that assessment :D

In either event, it instills confidence that under guerrilla conditions, the lowly longbow is a force to be reckoned with (Firearms rights retraction is a matter of when, not if. The left no longer even attempts to hide that fact)

    1. Firearms rights retention went from ballot box to cartridge box. We just need to find our balls.

    2. The people that do not respect my natural right to my possessions have already surrendered their right to breathe my air. Whether a lowly thug on the skreet or a thug in uniform, they will regret trying to steal from me. It is baffling that must even be said. But then, I guess that is to be expected from an entity that bases it's entire existence on the premise of theft.

  5. P.M. report. Nv. governor dropping the hammer, they are all (politicians, systems lords) going defcon 5 for C.Y.A. political butt covering. 4 million inbound flights to vegas in @month, 40 million a year. Plus interstate road in bound traffic is twice as much. Burn it down, it is an infested rat's nest beyond salvation.

    Stay frosty.

  6. Pretty well prestocked on many things, but hits restaurant supply with my brother (20 and 25 pound lentils, great northern and black eyed peas, big bag white sticky rice, huge bag baking size potatoes). I've got buckets and cans of beans along with wheat and other grains. For me beans are extremely difficult or impossible to cook after 6 or 7 years. Never tried grinding for bean flour as always suggested, and I do have a pressure cooker. But some fresh stock a plus.
At restaurant supply, pretty much asians, Hispanics, and blacks buying stuff. Mainly seemed for own businesses but who knows. One of the few other white guys shamefully had only two giant tubs of cheese puffs on his huge flat dolly cart.
Looked like normal stock levels throughout store.

Next stop Costco, got all sorts of stuff we use and probably don't have ready space for. Spent about 500 between two of us. Both of our households still have lots of school age kids. No panic or real depletion of goods including toilet paper. But did overhear lots of "preparing for Armageddon" chatter.

Lots of retirement age boomers here, the market plunge scaring the hell out of them.

Feels like long, grinding and impoverishing months/years coming.

Also, metals went to shit with everything else.

    1. Take heart with metals. Remember back a few years when silver was officially low, but E-Bay and dealers were getting like double the cost? That should happen again. Low price on paper silver, a premium on physical as none can be had. Just give it a little time.

  7. It's been a pleasure conversing with y'all. I've been a member on here for a long time, decades really. I hope the members that dropped by the wayside didn't drop the preps.

You got to dance with the girl you brought. You got to survive with the tribe you've got (who refuse to even think this is any more than "just the flu bro")

I'll be honest. All the wargaming of TEOTWAWKI I did, all the flights of fantasy I enjoyed, none involved dying in a fit of chinese coofing.

BISON Plan was the correct one all along. Shame I'm a working poor slob with a mortgage.
