A home based business. A second income. A hobby-craft used as unemployment insurance. These are the words of wisdom handed down, inviolate in their perceived wisdom. Well, guess what? Inviolate wisdom is thicker than layers of bull crap on the floor of the political convention, too. Hubris, meet propaganda, for a love child of confused idiocy. The conventional wisdom is many and varied and oh so wrong in the survivalism field. It is my bread and butter, also.
The conventional wisdom is to: look at the Stock Market for an economic barometer. Gold will buy your survival. Semi-automatic weapons will win the war for you. Freeze-dried foods are superior. The best retreat is in the Rockies. Republicans believe in freedom. The US will become a Police State if we don’t do something. An hour of thought, if that, would dispel and debunk those and literally dozens if not hundreds more overwrought over polished turd nuggets some fool is paying some conman to pronounce as sacred truth for the ages. In other words, to put too fine of a point on it, there is a LOT of bull feces out there.
The Stock Market has been under control of the government approved bankers since Ronald Reagan. Plunge Protection Team. And that was just the opening salvo. Gold can only be used for purchasing goods during times of prosperous unhindered trade. Does that sound like our future? In times of trouble trade stops ( and/or trade stopped and ushered in times of trouble ), and gold only becomes a way to transfer purchasing power to future generations. Semi-automatic weapons are an Oil Age weapon. They are not tactically superior. Tactics are superior to weapons. If you can’t do logistics, you can’t begin to do tactics.
Freeze dried foods, MRE’s and other field rations taste like crap, cost a kings fortune and are NOT a sign of a well fed soldier. They are a sign of a system that sacrifices nutrition for short term performance. There is nothing artificial and modern that matches traditional for longevity and long term affordability, be it clothing or food. The best retreats are where you can afford them, because otherwise they are mental masturbation. The biggest mistake a working man can make is listening to survival advice written for rich people.
Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin, the Imperialist Party. Which is another turd-that we aren’t an empire. We’ve been an empire before the American Revolution, but not even the most jingoistic apologist can explain away an economic system of free commodities paid for by fiat currency at the point of a gun practiced the last hundred years. And the Police State NOT already being firmly in place? Negro, please! Held indefinitely without charges? THAT sounds like a free state?!
There are so many others. That we can wage another world war, despite a lack of resources. Bugging out is viable ( despite all the evidence to the contrary such as traffic jams from hurricane evacuations or even just eclipse viewing ). That a NORK attack is more likely to occur, or even an solar flare, than just the simple break down of an over burdened infrastructure far too old. Every time I think of one piece of advice handed down like an invaluable heirloom, I vomit a bit of stomach etched from acid blood and think of yet another. But I’ll stop digressing. Even though, through the power of the marketplace ( full of even more polished turds treated as a savings account ), it seems you pay me to do just such a thing.
Waaaaayyy back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Henry Ford was perfecting the assembly line and becoming known as the Inventor Of The Automobile ( even though he was twenty or thirty years late ), he shocked his contemporaries with the blasphemous thought that his workers should make enough to buy the product they were assembling ( of course, the old Jew Hater didn’t give his workers enough to buy their own product out of compassion-not only would some of that extra wage come back to him, he also used the “best around” wages as a control mechanism, going so far as to spy and inspect for off work moral infractions ). This thought is nothing new, but it was rejected then as it is now.
Capitalism is really nothing more than central bank financed colonialism ( despite what the LibertarTards preach to you in their forests worth of libraries of intellectually claptrap [ which I used to consume voraciously, so don’t feel you are the only one misled and misinformed ] ), so there is no need for you to try to reconcile the theory with the practice. Basically, the bank creates money to finance invasion and occupation, and businesses use free commodities, subsidized energy and nearly free labor to create goods. The production side is all nice and tidy with five centuries of experience and experimentation behind it delivering a bow wrapped gift to the elite.
But the folks buying the goods, the consumption side, that has always been far more problematic. You can buy off indigenous personnel who will soon be killed after losing their lands, with simple trade goods such as steel knives and militarily antiquated firearms ( or, even up to date firearms, because without being able to manufacture ammunition you will never gain your independence-yeh, taking to you, militia mandarins ). You can loan foreign governments money to buy your goods. But the problem you always run back into is that you cannot spare enough profits to ever really create enough LASTING customers.
All you Ayn Randians know the mantra. Greed Is Good. I’ll grant you that Greed Is Natural, but I won’t say it is Good. Why? Because Greed Kills Need. No one wants to pay enough to create their own customers. It is really as simple as that. They are greedy, as we all are, but they are TOO greedy. They cut off their noses to spite their faces, and they do so while throwing the baby out with the bath water. It is a Prisoners Dilemma-everyone suffers because they assume everyone will screw each other, so they pick the solution to be the less screwed ( just not the solution that needs cooperation to eliminate getting screwed entirely ).
Look at women today. Sex is no longer a weapon they can utilize, because not everyone cooperated in withholding sex as a reward. A few gals start giving away the milk and nobody can sell the cow anymore ( cultural means kept this monopoly active. Once culture imploded, so did the group benefit ). That is what businesses do. Instead of cooperating, one or two companies give away the benefits of a monopoly and spoil it for everyone. You could also say that is a Tragedy Of The Commons ( just know, the Commons used to be communally policed-the tragedy was removing that enforcement ).
So, what do we see? A race to the bottom to see who can pay the LEAST wages. If everyone cooperated and paid more than they do-even more than was warranted-everyone would have customers. But, that is also practicing inefficiency, and the mantra is efficiency at all costs. I’ll continue tomorrow, so we can see how there is no more wages so there is no more customers which means no more businesses.

Yeah, but he made up for a lot of it by making it a point to hire fems and cripples. So I guess you could say that he was an enlightened, liberal, Jew hater :D
Well, YEAH, somebody has to service the productive workers after their 18 hour work days! BREAK TIME!Delete
"Capitalism is really nothing more than...."ReplyDelete
Nothing more than me contracting with my clients to do things that they ask, or purchase my products, in accordance with terms we both agree upon, and nobody else gets to say anything about it.
In an insane, pussified world I am considered a criminal but not too long ago that was what normal men did all the time.
Capitalism does not exist in the US and hasn't for some time now. I no longer agree with the made up term quasi-capitalism for the same reason I don't agree with quasi-freedom nor quasi-pregnant. Land of the free my ass.
Capitalism was never about street level merchants, but about the control from the top. You need to see it from macro rather than micro.Delete
I'm done caring about macro, it almost got me killed a couple times. From here on out it's all about me, and no that doesn't mean I get to abuse others, it just means that I come first. Times short and my patience with others is even shorter.Delete
I hear what you are saying and agree. Past time for us all to disregard all but immediate tribe. What I was getting at is that the macro of capitalism was all that ever mattered realpolitik. The micro version was just propaganda brainwashing us.Delete
Yes, the system as a whole or vicious loop circle-cycle is cannabalising on itself. Without some miracle of resources discoveries or super duper technology it will implode upon itself. Simple math= too many mouth breathers and raping of resources for the endless debauchery and all you can shove in your fat asses buffets. At least most of your minions can wrap their minds around it and are prepped.ReplyDelete
Hell, I can't even partake in the debauchery any more-I can't over eat at a buffet. I can barely regular eat. I just eat little meals through the day. Perhaps it's the heartburn. Or just old age ( but, I repeat myself ). Oh, to go to a bacon buffet again...Delete
I'll say this for you, James; you certainly have a point of view.Delete
So . . . bless your heart.
LOL! Ha, I know that Southerism. It really means "hump you". Ha! But you're not allowed to get mad, now are you? Since it was put so nicely. :)Delete
