malthus' gore warming 1 of 4

MALTHUS’ GORE WARMING
*
note: if you run across the book "Grave Predictions-doomsday classics" by Dover Publications, run screaming and crying.  A total crapfest of a book.  All the classic tales, from Bear, Bradbury, Clarke, Ellison and Vonnegut are dull, boring, hideous or unworthy.  One story, 80 out of the 300 total pages, started out promising but stuck in first gear.  Stephen Kings story was great, but published elsewhere already.  Do NOT waste your money.
*
A mere dozen years ago-a lifetime for young lads but a rounding error for us old farts-none of today’s problem were really taken all that seriously.  We all knew they were going to happen sooner of later but realistically they were just some of the dozens of hypotheticals we needed to keep in mind as we were prepping.  Really, what we were taking the most seriously ( I know, everyone is different-I use this in a general sense given the alt media/blogger consciousness of the time as my faltering memory recalls it )-the looming police state-never got a whole lot of traction ( when our Thought Police Boys In Blue are this expensive, extensively trained and close to retardedly inefficient, not a whole lot of Jack Booted Thug-ing gets accomplished-thank goodness ) and what we joined hands across the Rush Limbaugh dial to collectively deny-Gore Warming and Malthusian disasters- is starting to kick our ass.  I almost want to say, Thank You Very Humping Much Marching Commie Cadres Of The Demo Party And Their Rectal Nibbling Media Whores, for keeping us focused on the left hand while the right hand was profiting off of pollution and overpopulation.

I don’t allow even the possibility that Gore is anything other than one of the worst in a very long line of traitorous Confederates who sold out for the thirty pieces of Yankee silver to help enslave the entire captive nation/colony.  His only talent is to get rich screwing over others.  Not that he does anything different than all other politicians, but there is something a wee bit sadder about collaborators compared to  mere honestly greedy bastards.  I don’t think he has a whole lot rattling around in his little pea brain, and certainly nothing so esoteric as earth science.  Other than a cute name for a deadly subject, his existence on this planet, consuming far more than everyone else, is a waste.  Being a mere Lamp Post List member is probably too good for him as he deserves a far more elongated death.  Nonetheless, despite the horrid little blood sucker that championed the cause, we really had better start taking Gore Warming a lot more seriously.

Malthusian issues, overpopulation leading to widespread famine,  should be glaringly obvious to even the most obtuse out there, but I wonder how many survivalists give it its due after the turn of the century gave us as much evidence of its arrival as Gore Warming did.  In this article, I’d like to discuss how so far the danger of climate change refugees has barely effected the US and how soon that will change.  Most survival relocation advice focuses on moving to an area to personally avoid natural disasters but none focuses on the coming differing weather refugees that form after we no longer have the economic muscle to blunt its effects.  In other words, what happens when, economically, we are Greece and environmentally half of our nation is Syria?  It is all I can do not to pull out my beautiful hair in frustration as none of you take me seriously enough about urban overpopulation zones to move, and yet here is another far more serious problem-those same dingus smokers all headed towards you.

*

This is not the same thing as the Golden Horde.  The GH are all desperately fleeing at the same time after a huge disaster.  Gore Warming Refugees are entire regions moving en mass.  The GH’ers are a few percent of the survivors who decide to leave, and produce an even smaller number who make it through the gridlock and dog eat dog stranded.  GWR’s are fleeing a denuded land, where GH’ers are fleeing a city.  GWR’s are ALL leaving, and out of the GH’ers many are left behind who thought they could survive by staying.  Far too many survivalists think they can bunker in, so I’d wager 99% of non-preppers, the trophy wife blubbering over her McMansion and the proximity of her mother who is always there to consul her princess when the Testicle Wearer is audacious enough to ill consider her feelings, will come to the same conclusion.  The GH is only a few hardy souls, the odds of surviving by staying greater in their mind, where the GWR’s all know that a city under the ocean waves with sewage and nuclear waste added is simply not viable.

*

Africa right now has so many regions under permanent drought, areas overpopulated, that even nearly ten years ago it was book-worthy ( I really need to peruse my teetering stacks and both reread that one and report its title to you ).  No one can stay because there is simply no way to eat or especially drink.  The area isn’t fit for human habitation any longer.  The US has a lot of areas like that, the only humans living there being equivalent to the Eskimos ( very few in numbers and very skilled at surviving in an area normal folks avoid as the plague ) in times past and the only reason millions live there now is that the craphole is inside the USA with its current-but-not-for-much-longer 25% of the global oil supply.  And that is just with near historical weather.  Imagine the magnitude of the problem when Gore Warming really gets its rocket boosters warmed up.  The African surrounding areas, already overpopulated, see refugee waves helping to screw things up even more.  The US can become a mirror image of that quick enough, given the right Perfect Storm.  Don’t you think it would be a good idea to at least think about the direction of the refugee surge?

Too many survivalists have delusions that as long as they are one days walk from an Interstate highway, they are safe.  Too many of those same survivalists ignore our energy predicament and our changing weather ( having listened to the pabulum of Beck and Limbaugh, thinking they were fellow conservatives.  Well, they are conservations-in that they will do and say anything to retain their wealth ).  Me thinks the problems are far worse than we can imagine.  More tomorrow.

  1. The economic impact of the drought(s) effecting the Middle East, is being felt globally. Formerly rich western Europe had been managing to bribe its poorer class into limiting their breeding and not making waves for the people in charge - and those nations managed to spend their moneys on many things besides. Now with a massive influx of 'refugees' all demanding their right to same bribes but NOT choosing to reduce their breeding rate or otherwise culturally assimilate, and NOT staying quite and avoiding a fuss for those in charge... And the bribe monies are drying up both at the sources and due to over usage down stream, the rivers of money are no longer making it to the oceans of global commerce.

  2. A warmer world means for most areas of a the planet a wetter world. Most of the planet is covered in water so increase in temps will mean more evaporation, meaning more precipitation. Add the fact that CO2 acts as a fertilizer for plants. A warmer, wetter, greener planet sounds just fine and dandy to me.

    1. What it has meant, in practice, is droughts and floods. Not a mild Hawaiian vacation.

    2. That could just be the transition phase as the land and atmosphere heats up quicker than the ocean. Once the ocean really starts heating up it will start pumping a serious amount of H2O into the atmosphere. Were I am in Australia we have just come out of the wettest winter on record largly being created by the hotter than normal Indian Ocean. Hotter world climate has always lead to a wetter world climate in the past, no reason to think it want in the future. Its ice ages that really suck as ice ages creat world wide droughts for any areas not under the ice cap.

    3. "Climate Change" (since both hotter and colder seem to be happening together) seems to bring Inconvenient Weather. Farms get flooding in the winter and lack of water during growing season, then flooding for harvest. People should adapt to what "is", rather than whine and blame about what used to be. We should not impoverish ourselves by becoming a 3rd world raw material exporter or denying the available fuels to domestic users.
On a personal basis, I would avoid low altitude places with regular flooding, since that is going to get worse.

    4. Elko city just spent $1.8 million to tear up and repave/re-gutter two blocks. They used flood control as an excuse-but added gay little rocked tree areas to pretty it up. My point is that if this is the norm, good luck getting enough flood infrastructure built on a widespread basis.

    5. Aussie-I see your point. My point is that in this transition phase, we still have to feed too many people with ag practices based on milder more stable weather ( not to mention more plentiful energy ). I have no doubt the weather shall get warmer in general. Getting there is the problem.

    6. The transition phase probably started back in the 1990's or so, and has been picking up steam as more and more weather "weirding". We are seeing more moisture here on the northern great plains but also earlier and later frosts and high and low record temperatures that are one on top of the other by days and even hours (going from the mid 80's to below freezing in less than a day is odd even for this area).
Don't forget what the effects of the weather is going to be on things like power lines (yous should see the snapshots I took of the windstorm downed power lines over 12 miles! and not the little residential lines either but the big distribution lines too! some of the poles looked like the blew up they were shattered into so many toothpicks!). Roads and railroads will be flooded, frost heaved, snow drifts, have debris blown or falling on them, canals and river routes will gain sandbars snags and run dry with drought. Just getting a dozen miles into the nearest little town could be an all day project- nationwide distribution systems will fail piece by piece, be resurrected / repaired but not to previous quality, only to be damaged again and again...

    7. Yes its the change and the need to adapt to said change that that always causes the problem. Its just one of my pet peeves when people say the planet is getting hotter and dryer when in the long run if its averaged out it cant possibly do so. A hotter world means a wetter world, the science really is simple, yet they continue to lie to us. Be carful not to chug down that cool aid folks.

  3. I suspect much of the global warming(but probably not all of it) can be explained by the fact that comparing todays temperatures to say those of a 100yrs ago doesn't take into account the fact that cities make there own climate. 100yrs ago most temperature recordings were done in cities. Fast forward a hundred years and those same cities are full of internal combustion motors churning out pollution that traps the heat, and heat itself (stand behind a running car and feel the warmth emanating from it). More energy is brought in via electricity and either directly or indirectly punching out heat. Asphalt and concrete trap and later release much more heat than grass or wood lands. Human beings themselves produce heat. All this heat produced must make a difference, and it does. Most big cities, statistically Friday is the hottest day of the week, in a natural system no day of the week should be any hotter than any other day.

    1. Yes, there probably is definitely someone about the Heat Sink effect. I read a lot of Gore Warming books and was never convinced. Not until the Atlantic conveyor showed proof of disruption. The problem is, I think, that while someone wants to sell us a bill of goods on Gore Warming, it is now past the tipping point and showing proof positive. It was hard to believe at first because someone had an agenda.
