COP CRITTERS ( article 2 of 2 today )
Before we begin today,
please recall that my father was a police officer. I was an MP in
the Army. I only failed to continue in that career field out of
lacking the aptitude for it, not for any moral or philosophical
reasons. My best friend growing up was a Junior Pig ( Boy Scouts
Explorers ), and we both had clear plans as budding LEO's ( I wanted
to go into the military, primarily, whereas he had an “in” with
the local department through HIS father, also a cop ). This is all
background to underline that I have absolutely nothing against LEO's.
*
I wanted to be, and
was, one. But I also hold zero illusions as to what they are. I
understand what they WERE, and what they have become. I never
worshiped them, and was well aware of their faults. I don't look at
them as heroic, and never did. It was a vocation. Nor do I view
them as evil. Their job has never changed. When I see them with
blinders off, it is not to criticize individuals, but rather the
system. Just as individual soldiers can be great warriors, but work
for people up to no good, so can the police.
*
The police are not your
friend. They never were. They are there to protect and facilitate
order. They always were. That this included preventing crime was an
added bonus but it was never about that. Criminals are apprehended
not because they harm citizens, but because their actions harm
society ( which the elite profit off of ). The police also do a very
good job of preventing competition with the states monopoly on
violence. Not because a citizen may be harmed, but because only the
state may decide who is harmed.
*
The state does not care
if citizens are robbed, as long as they have approved the theft. Nor
does it care about casualties, as long as they made the decision.
The brutal truth is that people are idiots and pigs and only naked
force compels their compliance. And the police are the instrument of
that. They are the iron fist of the state, and the state decides if
that fist is clocked in velvet, or not. The reason that the police
are viewed any different today compared to yesterday is that before,
society was ruled by custom, whereas today it is not.
*
Before, the law was the
same as those customs and all the government had to do was to be the
ultimate enforcer. It had to do very little because people mostly
policed themselves. When it was decided that customs must be changed
against the consent of the governed, in the divide and conquer for
profit paradigm, then the police and the public were no longer in
agreement. The police never changed. They were always there to
uphold government dictate. The dictate changed, no longer in
alignment with culture.
*
The police were no more
“fascist pigs” than they ever were. They were no more of a bully
than they ever were. What changed is that before the police had no
need to interfere with the average citizen, who voluntarily complied
with the law, and now they have no choice but to get into everyone's
business because everyone was now a criminal just by adhering to
traditional customs. The culture which demanded vengeance for
justice was now outlawed. The custom that demanded harassment to
force conformity to ensure coexistence was outlawed. In short,
“responsibility” was outlawed and “reward” encouraged. It
was a deliberate break down of social cohesion.
*
If this system makes no
sense to you as a citizen, imagine how little sense it makes to LEO's
who must enforce an incoherent system on an unwilling public. Not
only that, all through the ranks common sense is disallowed and
credentialism rewarded. Prior to the break in culture, the meatheads
who showed aptitude in physical enforcement, but showed restraint in
merely assuring compliance, would be prime police recruit material.
There were few bad apples as far as idiots over their heads
overreacting. Today? ONLY college educated idiots who check all the
bureaucratic boxes are allowed in.
*
I don't mean to ruffle
any feathers. Yes, you could ACCIDENTALLY hold the aptitude for this
type of work. But the system itself only wanted blind compliance to
rules which make no sense, and actively worked against accepting
those with the natural aptitude. You succeed, if an old school style
cop, in spite of the system as it is now. Now, here is where I'll
ruffle feathers, and I don't care. If you buy into the nobility of
the profession, into the myth, I submit to you that you have no
aptitude for this work. You are, simply, a blind minion to the new
system.
*
I don't mean you cannot
take pride in your work. I don't mean you don't do SOME good. I
mean, a cop is supposed to be a professional. At cracking skulls and
kicking ass, to force compliance with order. If you are doing this
because you think you are a noble Blue Knight, you are a delusional
Kool-Aid drinker. You've bought into the illusion the government
wants us all to comply with, that those in uniform are of a higher
social order. When the law cannot be rationally followed, worship
the holders of the rule book.
*
Cops were meant to be
feared, not idolized. And, most importantly, they were to be feared
only because you were breaking the law. And when the culture was the
law, this was easy and just for the citizens to expect. When the law
broke down, and everyone had to fear the police, the police no longer
served any real purpose of upholding order. Now they just try to
retain some order through blind fear by everyone. Where is the
nobility in this? Before, you could respect the tough job of a force
tasked with combating those who broke societies conventions. Now?
*
There is no social
cohesion. The laws don't make sense, nor are they meant to. The
police by definition must be as dysfunctional as the law has become.
There is no more professionalism, as the job is impossible. The
police were ALWAYS a tribe of us against them, but the Them were
always real criminals. Now everyone is a criminal against the
bureaucracy. Criminality loses its distinction, as does the enemy of
the police. Before, with a unified culture, compliance was enforced
by the citizenry. Only the violent or crazy needed the police
response. Now, compliance is impossible with no unified culture.
When the citizens battle each other, the police are tasked with
compliance rather than just violence suppression.
*
Police are recruited
with the lie of being peace officers while they are merely law
enforcement. They are recruited with the lie that they alone ensure
peace ( when peace WAS ensured by the public, before ). They are
hired being told enforcing the law is the same as protecting the
public and ensuring peace. Their organization is run by incompetents
leading the incompetent because your fellow officers are hired
according to compliance rather than aptitude. And that is PRIOR to
the school educated Diversity Hire incompetents crowding out the
school educated mildly competent, with only the occasional officer
having any aptitude.
*
Having an aptitude and
being somewhat competent are NOT the same thing. Posers and the
inept can accidentally gain competence. That is the only reason so
many departments function at all. Which, given all the constraints,
is a minor miracle unto itself. And those with the aptitude only
make a career of it by accident, because they are not who the elite
want policing the street. They actually want the public to
irrationally fear the police. It helps with the discord. And the
poor bastards working the beat have nary a clue.
*
This all makes for a
very different dynamic come collapse than we have been lead to
believe. I'll continue this tomorrow, but in a different vein. Why
institutions have failed and why they cannot be reformed. Even if
the elites didn't want dysfunction, that is all that is possible
anyway.

I understand what you are saying about LEOs today.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with the LEOs who actually want to enforce logical, traditional laws but can't.
Hell, they won't let ANY of us perform our jobs smarter rather than harder. Got 550 paracord and your lamppost list?
DeleteTrue, all of it, following along Jim.
ReplyDeleteMinions should expect to see a much more equal opportunity clampdown by leos as a result of top down pressure by their "civilian" TPTB controllers in run ups to collapsing. Expect the g.i. armored trucks and 'Roid boys with all the toys a budget can digest arrayed against the citizenry, just as in turd world countries. (Oh wait, we be there now, check, got it) Soylent green scoop trucks will be deployed vigorously to any frackus at walmarts or grocers. Don't be waving to officer friendly and avoid cops like the plague. It is like that. Really.
Come civil war, needs must. But still realize who really is to blame. The asswipes in charge who could have given us a really soft landing. Cops are in the end screwed just like you and me.
DeleteExcellent article so far. Looking forward to tomorrows conclusion.
ReplyDeleteHope I don't disappoint. Just don't forget about that satisfaction guarantee on your subscription.
DeleteWell, when I was a kid back in mid 1970's, they were more commonly referred to as Peace Officers. They only arrested drunk drivers if they were in an accident. Otherwise, they were often taken home to sober up and retrieve their cars later.
ReplyDeleteMy brother, friend and I were walking along a canal enbackment, searching out cottontail. The police drove by, waved and asked us if we had killed anything yet (Nope!). They drove off, didn't bother any of us. Another time, my brother and I were in an orange orchard with pellet rifles when a patrol car drove by. This time, they verified it was a pellet / BB gun vs. a powder burner. They told us they had seen jackrabbits on the other side of the orchard and wished us luck. That wouldn't happen today.
I don't know when Peace officers became Law Enforcement Officers, but it changed the dynamic. When a traffic stop is made, multiple units converge and the officer's hands are on their holstered firearm until 'The Perp' is in custody.
The Florida city cops swarmed me after I was pulled over on a bicycle ( I didn't know it was illegal to let the wife ride on it ). Once Skynet approved my release, I was allowed to proceed.
DeleteThe guy I work for loves to tell the story of how he and a buddy (the buddy had the .22 rifle) were going on a weekday to go plinking at the edge of town, so, outside the area where shooting guns isn't allowed. They went to Catholic school and it was a day off for them.
DeleteSo the cop comes up, and the first thing he asks them isn't about the rifle, it's "Why aren't you kids in school?". They explain that they go to Catholic school and it's a holiday for them, and that they thought they were far out enough to be off of City property. The cop told them they weren't yet, and how much further to go, and that was it.
A trust society. Geez, how long has it been, right?
DeleteYeah. All the 3 percenters and gadsen flag fan boys, if they ever did get off of the wood bench, would have to detente' with leos in their A.O. if it descends to power vacuums or challenges to power-authority. Their gang (leo, state, fed, .mil) does have more resources and general public support enough. Arms distance type of cautious relationships would need to be in order. A little preplanning, and lines of demarcation type of ground rules in advance would be wise. Just be saying.
ReplyDeleteRight-there never is a power vacuum, for long. Also, short distances will turn into longer ones, after the gas is gone. The Sheriff might be less effective than town forces.
DeleteYes, town elders and or a hasty qurom of drinking buddies will decide fate and handle things in the "community". The Sherriff can play solitaire cards in his office and just check buildings and what nots for the .govs. Post Collapse / Apocalypse societies will not have too much technically difficult problems a fellow with a rifle can't unfix, without LEOS up everyone's bum over. Bring this party on already, jeez....
DeleteRight, before we all get way too old :)
DeleteI read today that Washington state passed a law to allow human composting for fertilizer. Soylent green is here. Demented guy
ReplyDeleteExcellent, EXCELLENT, article today. I read it twice. I wish I had written it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. And yes, I get that a lot-women want me and men want to be me :) [ secret sauce-it's the hair ]
DeleteNever had much use for them. They are the most dangerous people on the planet, able to deal death and destruction at will and capable of bringing any backing force up to and including air strikes. Anytime I venture outside the wire my main goal is to be aware of any gov thugs in my proximity and try to avoid them.
ReplyDeleteA lot of birdbrains are focused on tyrants afar when in fact their biggest threat is within a few miles. The enemy is inside the gates and their numbers continue to grow unabated. Tribe? Please.
Good post today.
Thanks-appreciated.
DeleteYeah, I’m with GS on this one. I recall an incident not too many years back, when I got pulled over for something. The one cop approached from the drivers side, but he had a partner, an old dude that looked like he was ready to retire already. The old dude approached on the passenger side, and was in the ready, hand on gun, ready to cap me if I made the wrong move. And this was just a routine traffic stop; no warrants or anything of the like. Also of note, I’m a clean cut looking white dude. So yeah, it would totally be easy to get shot just for making the wrong move. The sort of thing we’re told that you could expect in places like Nazi Germany, or the former Soviet Union, yet the people that I know that live in these places tell me that the police in these countries are way cooler than the police here. Corrupt yes, but the only difference between the US and these other countries, is that the corruption is already built into the US system. So rather than paying the cop off with a bribe in Mexico, and getting off for a fraction of the cost. You have to go through the costly court system here, where the money funnels its way back to the pigs, judges, lawyers, etc, indirectly. Much more of a rip off.
DeleteYeah, best to avoid cops. And the best way to do that is to go way out in the wilderness. But if you need to survival poach, you must keep your sound signature down. That is, use quiet methods of harvesting game. Otherwise, you will have to deal with the country version of the big city cop; the game warden. And I don’t think that I have to tell you how incredibly uncool these types can be. Though you could probably wear a “I’m with Claude Dallas” T-shirt, and that should keep them at bay :D
Claude T-shirt. Hilarious :)
