great whitey tightey shortage of 2022

GREAT TIGHTY WHITEY SHORTAGE OF 2022
I’ve tried to get you all excited about my newest find:
He is funny as hell while at the same time he gives good analysis, a rare combination.  Writing on economics he mentioned that during the Great Depression, sales of men’s underwear plummeted.  I of course responded in the comments, chastising one and all that real survivalists stock underwear, not FLIR scopes ( okay, I didn’t mention FLIR scopes, as his isn’t per se a prepper site and I’m not sure if the mention would fly over most heads ).  And I listed the reasons.
*
China makes most of the globes underwear.  Using a for now cheap source of cotton that might not last.  And if not from trade wars, from reduced fuel supplies international trade is about to become much more expensive.  So for Christ’s sake, stockpile underwear.  And I obviously don’t JUST mean underwear, but everything you will need.  Buy a lifetimes worth of shirts and pants at the thrift store.  Underwear and socks, I would advise only getting new.  Buy cheap, right?  Nobody understands how cheap clothing is right now.  It will NOT stay that way.  Look at Globalism.
*
Cheap fuel is what allows globalism to function.  All the factories vomiting forth metric butt tons of plastic doodads matter little if you cannot afford to ship them overseas affordably.  I’m not sure if you’ve been following the news, but diesel fuel is on the endangered species list, in theory.  Conventional petroleum produces gasoline and diesel and a few other nice to have fuels.  Fracking oil is too light and is only good for gasoline.  We tried combining frack oil and Canadian tar sands but refineries are unable to use that as if it were conventional oil ( must have been a diversity hire that came up with that idea ).
*
The bottom line is that since 2005 LESS conventional oil is drilled and more Fake Fuel, and this is putting pressure on the availability of diesel.  You know, the fuel that transports our goods all over the country.  Like our food.  And gas.  And heating oil.  And underwear.  What they are projecting is that the need for diesel will take precedence over bunker fuel ( what container ships burn ) and there will be shortages of both.  This is bad news for cheap transportation fuel.
*
This seems to be a big reason behind the attempts to jack up fuel taxes in France.  It isn’t JUST about socialism, dumb ass.  When our country gives free welfare to all illegal immigrants as an incentive to outbreed the WASP’s, how much better are we than countries with free medical care and college?  Watch out where you throw those stones in your glass house.  Higher taxes discourage fuel use, which sacrifices consumer use for industrial ( yes, coming here soon enough.  I will wager anyone a jelly filled donut.  This is what contraction looks like, only being allowed to pick amongst lesser evils ).
*
In all my years reading on Peak Oil, I’d never have thought that the triage process would affect goods transportation BEFORE consumer happy motoring ( as a bonus, recall Obammy’s diesel tax rate hike?  Expect more.  I’ll be laughing my junk off at the wanna be cowboy humps stuck with their $50k truck lawn ornaments ).  But this isn’t THE big event that will screw us on trade.  It is a mere Sideshow Bob episode.  Don’t forget that Peak Petrodollar.  Remember that 2008 economic crash that was combated with hyperinflation?  Other than losing your house, it wasn’t TOO bad.
*
Right?  All the liquidity that was firehoused from the world’s central bank resurfaced in the stock market ( because all the money went to the financial sector Far Cats, and they couldn’t chase more food or Ford sedans with the money, but rather stores of wealth ).  People thought I-Pads and Bitcoins were worth inflated money values, as their wages shrunk.  Morons.  Yeah, I always thought buying Amazon stock at one million p/e made sense as all of Amazons customers lost their jobs at Sears and Mom’s Bead And Bath Gel’s.  Actually, now that I think on it, thanks morons, for the subsidized prices on my prepper shopping.
*
When the PetroDollar completely fails ( Qatar just dropped out of OPEC.  It looks like they are partnering with Russia on natural gas.  If they haven’t already dropped the Dollar, they should soon.  The list of rejectee’s just keeps growing ) all the inflation we imported overseas will return.  No longer able to print up debt for oil, all those free welfare schemes will suddenly become unaffordable.  You know, like that extra $20 TRILLION the Pentagon accidentally “lost” to fund the Deep State activities.
*
As our economy implodes, overseas trade almost completely halts.  Once again, first on the list, men’s underwear sales go banker skydiving ( “Jump You Humpers” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yge311sFhC8 )
Mostly because just like everything else, underwear is a Just In Time Inventory item.  IF you have a job to buy them, that is.  Believe me, NOBODY buys underwear with their last paycheck.  Not even Super Dave (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nADJFmwoUIY ) Survivalists are going to prioritize that on their list.  You buy those kinds of things now.  And why is underwear so important?  You do NOT want to go without during the apocalypse.
*
Using my super deluxe patent pending Jim Washer ( a closed bucket full of clothes, water and soap, strapped on a rocking chair that you manipulate by foot because, friggin DUH!, your legs have far more muscles than your arms ), washing clothes has never been easier during the apocalypse.  But soap if you recall needs fat and fat is calories and calories will become dear and hence so will soap so you do NOT waste any scarce resources washing clothes.  That means to protect your multiple wearings at a time pants by placing a pair of whitey tighties between your leaking bowels and or bladder and those pants.
*
Why must I harbor the weight of the world upon my shoulders?  Why must I be the one to spell out unwanted realities, and as a result being banned from all cocktail parties?  Facing a combat situation, you might soil yourself.  Eating too much wheat in your diet after a lifetime of meat and potatoes?  You’ll crap yourself running to the toilet.  When you only have MRE’s and freeze dried foods your health will suffer dramatically as you don’t get enough calories, or enough fresh foods ( wheat=sprouts=fresh food ), and hello diarrhea.
*
Not to mention the gals needing to drip dry as TP runs out, or an older guys failing prostate leading to frontal drip.  When you become your own doctor, sanitation becomes that much more important.  You want piss soaked pants?  One pair of pants takes as many resources to sanitize as a dozen pairs of underwear does.  While you were busy stocking FLIR scopes, real survivalists stocked underwear deep.  And need I remind you of patrol, dry socks and foot health?  Socks are more important than yet another dozen semi-auto mags or a tacti-cool sling.  Just saying.

note: free book, a 72 page preview of the upcoming "48 Hours", from the One Second After author.  That book was superb.  Its sequels were rancid rabid dog piss.  Looking at the preview, he has his mojo back-I loved it.  Of course, he seems to do really well before and during a calamity ( this is a super solar flare ) and then quickly peters out once he gets far into the collapse.  So let's hope this new book due in January focuses on before and during rather than after.  Read this preview here

  1. Yeah, like that whole long list of personal utility items and consumables. Stock accordingly. I plan for a three year+ supply of most items. During purges and forced exoduses of populations there may be a lot of residual materials to scavenge, extending your own stockpiles. Those holding dead ender jobs at dollar stores or retail entities can do a final loot and scoot from a mental checklist on the way out as collapse starts, load up your cart or car in lieu of receiving last wages. My drawers are made in El Salvador. If tptb or feds are wise they would steer or coerce business and manufacturers to relocate asian operations to mexico and central america. Labor would cost the same, employ them so they don't jump our borders, have that stuff in our hemisphere under closer shipping control and within range of intermediate missles. It's not like folks in the south or midwest will loom cotton and sit at sewing machines ever again. Import manufacturing of MOST ITEMS is normal, not changing for a long time.

  2. Right on Jim. I recommend that packages as purchased or aquired are marked with a marking pen with the date. This is so rotation occurs as usage occurs. (Use in order, so an old pack of drawers doesn't get passed over a decade then the elastic waistbands dry out resulting in droopy drawers and sagging support for gear) I would bag or wrap the items as well for good measure. Those with food sealer machines can seal up stuff like bar soap, etc. For extra protection. It will be like egyption tomb treasures later on post collapse. Happy Prepping!

    1. If you're writing stuff up to read in the distant future use pencil not pen. Pen fades & if it gets wet runs.

    2. Sharpie or permanent markers, bold dates or notes on blank or margins parts of factory packages. Diaries and logs the ink may indeed fade or bleed into the paper a bit, usually after many decades. History archeologists will not know what to make of our times.

    3. I got some of these (link below) for my bugout bag, though it wouldn’t be practical to write everything down on them. Though more important archive documents would be justifiable. Probably wouldn’t hurt to have at least some on hand. You can get it in different sizes, I just picked the small notebook size because it was for an emergency pack.

  3. I studied the ww2 rationing and noted even then prior to globalized trade and breadbasket agrarian america things got scarce bigly. If things bind up for whatever reason the streets of america will look like turd world venezuala, etc. That pack of underdrawers will probably get a child slave and a jar of moonshine in an even trade.

  4. Will it be the Vatican selling the child slaves?

    1. Yes they run underground railroads now. (It is why they are out front of crying migrants on the borders, not out of compassion) Their bank still manages nazi gold deposits. Monks will take up distillery operations.

    1. Not Evil lawyers-1% of total. Not Evil bankers-1/10th of 1%. Not Evil priests. I'm sure it is far more-90%? Evil Ex-Wives probably far outnumber evil priests. But we can beat Good into wives, so no need to add them to the list. Nor priests. UNLESS! Depends on the power of the church. Modern churches, no power except culturally ( but none politically or economically ). Other eras, sure. Lamppost.

    2. re:
Beat some 'good' into my wives

Bison, are you saying I shoulda waited further into this collapse before I started my disciplinary measures?

Criminy. My wives already whine about not shopping enough for new ping-pong paddles and such to replace the worn-outs. No way will they allow me to slack on the spankings.

      re:
'Marking dates on packs of new belts, new whips'.

The wives already do this as part of their duties. Of course, they intentionally mess it up so they can jump forward in their place in line. Although I would never admit to a touch of sadism, my wives proudly announce their masochism on their resumes.

Speaking of 'the burdens I carry'... [shakes weary head]

    4. just a thought ,but if the federal reserve is a privately owned central bank , and the rest of the worlds banking IS a privately owned central bank ,all of them joined at the hip , is there any question as to why things happen?
Their agenda is plain to see .

  7. Yeah, I saw that in the news this morning, what 11:17 mentioned, and the media was making a huge deal out of it. That marks the beginning of the end for Nevada. You know damn well that one of the first things on the chopping block will be legalized prostitution (if they can pull it off that is, since it is a money maker for Nevada). Better get up there soon, and make a bordello run while I still can...

  10. Chonies From The Chasm? ( I'm spelling it wrong. "chonies" is Mexican slang for underwear. Like Joan-ies but with a "cho". It isn't as funny when you have to explain )
