SUCKER SURVIVALISTS 3
Population is a dynamic
all its own. China was able to keep up economically with the western
world, all through the Coal Age. It started falling behind with the
advent of oil, which obviously just makes sense. You cannot feed
enough people to keep up with the energy equivalent in oil. You will
of course note when China started its economic ascent. Yes, taking
on some characteristics of capitalism helped ( and any douche canoe
that screams “intellectual property theft” both has no idea that
the US did the exact same thing to Britain while she was an empire,
AND no clue that most of our growth in that regard is either asset
stripping or counterproductive, such as Monsanto and GMO's ).
*
But mostly, capitalism
is a central banker colonial tool. It is only helpful insofar as
theft improving the economy. China prospered less by capitalism and
more with fascism/nationalism. The US could vastly improve by
emulating that. “More Capitalism” has just been more private
profits to globalist companies with no national interests. We should
be so lucky to be more fascist. But the fuel behind that economic
model was an oil/coal hybrid mixed with excess population. The
economic decline THEY saw, and hence the rest of the world saw ( I
love the old ideal of America, but she is no longer free and
certainly no where close to the economic superpower she once was. I
don't make the rules here, kids. Facts don't have to match your
idealism ) was when coal overtook oil in the energy factor.
*
And Sweet Mother Of
Gawd, Joseph and Baby Jesus, how many times must I tell you that Net
Energy and Production Decline are all that is necessary to crash our
economy? Some dude with a doctorate after his name tells you that,
you all look at each other and nod in agreement and say, gee, that
sounds reasonable, but when I say it I get rotten fruit and beer
bottles thrown up at the stage, calls of “but we haven't run OUT of
coal or oil” the best counterargument you can muster. Capitalism
is banker debt paid for with colonialism. It has been for five
friggin centuries. It was THE model for defeating other potential
colonialists. It is nothing more complicated than “the rich get
richer”. But when you lose your colonies and their resources, you
fail, and you fail hard and fast. Newsflash there, Buckaroo, we are
failing.
*
So, China has proven,
very recently, that population is STILL the economic force it was for
the last eight thousand years, he who breeds more wins more. The US
thought they could win with population, but as usual went about it by
consuming rather than producing. The US production model only lasted
into the 1950's, as far as delivering an economic return. The
Vietnam War still saw us as a global leader in production, but the
consumption drain by civilians AND the double war spending ( remember
that Cold War and our nuclear industry had a huge cost ) tipped us
over into deficit. THAT was the reason we lost our colony in
Vietnam. Not strategy, but economics.
*
Since then, our
economic model was consumption alone. It is amazing that lasted as
long as it did, but nobody can consume ever more forever. It is
mathematically impossible. The last twenty years, as our oil theft
from Siberia and Saudi Arabia diminished or was halted by nationalism
( lefties hate OUR nationalism, so why wouldn't they hate Russia's?
And that Putin fellow sure is nationalistic- an effective foil to
globalism ), our consumption model has been failing. Of course, you
ALWAYS double down on a failing method, if you are a dumbass. So we
tried that.
*
But that failed
abysmally. Finally, the only course of action left for our elite was
to scrap the consumption model. By definition, that would not only
include placing a brake on resource use, but overpopulation as well.
The huddled masses could no longer return a profit on consumption (
the last ten years, other than the odd plastic crap from China-to
include our cars, HA!- the main growing consumption was rent and
medical care. And Aesop can protest as much as he desires about his
peeps professionalism, the medical industry only incidentally saves
lives. Its primary function is wealth extraction and health be
damned ).
*
You can wave the orange
flag of Trumpism all you desire, manufacturing is not moving back to
the US. Nor did he proclaim We Would No Longer Tear Down This Wall,
Gorby, until his puppet masters told him to. People, I take only
minimal pleasure in this, but nobody is coming to save us. And
consumption is dead. Sure, you can still buy all the ammo you want.
Until the other 99% of customers who are NOT stocking up for the
Boogaloo stop buying ammo and are unemployed and the amount of ammo
factories closing ( as we withdraw from the Sandbox ) makes ammo as
expensive and scarce as gasoline ( stock up now, in other words, dumb
ass ).
*
Shutting down the
economy did NOT ruin the economy. The economy was already dead as
the bankers killed off the golden goose. The consumer was wrung dry,
not just in disposable income but especially in indebtedness. The
bankers ruined the economy with their desperation and greed and
ignorance. It was already gone. Take care, bye-bye. All we are
seeing now is triage, a desperate attempt to slow resource use to the
point the system can be kept on life support. I have argued that
this action alone will bring about civilization collapse. BUT!
Although! Except! I could be too paranoid and shutting down
resource waste could actually succeed. That is just a working
theory. I don't know if I believe it, but it COULD happen.
*
And I don't mean It
Could Happen, as in Monkey's Could Fly Out Of My Ass. I mean, it is
actually probable that this could be happening. I would not bet my
life on that, but it just might have bought us a little more time.
We shall see, and I imagine, very shortly.

Not just net energy, but net energy per capita. There seem to be more capitas and less energy for each one.
ReplyDeleteEnergy fuels modern civilization. Without it? Life gets grimmer than a goth metal band at a drag queen story hour.
I think I'd rather have music than Doug The Drag Queen reading "See Spot Shag Me In The Ass"
DeleteI can relate. I’d rather shoot the dude below, than a biologically born deer :D
Delete“Steph Loehr", Twitch’s new safety advisory council member, is a male to female transgender, that also identifies as a deer; grazes in own backyard” (I’d like to say that I’m making this up, but I heard it straight from the trans-gendered deer’s mouth :D )

Pastor Joe went on an epic rant today, talking about "identifiers". I think it went "I identify as a pretty pony", something like that. I was busting up hard.
DeleteImagine a society where GDP relies on consumption/buying things
ReplyDeleteas a measure of a nation's wealth? Or, also a nation that relies on tourism for a plump GDP and then no one anywhere
(except the filthy rich)can afford to travel much less keep
a pantry stocked. The FR can then have those exotic beaches
and the quaint bistros all to themselves. I am sure this was
not so much a stated goal, as a nice side benefit.
We are failed here in the dang USA but we have yet to see the
actual fall-out. Very violent things could happen as we move
into our actual summer months. Cops are beating people for
not wearing their masks correctly? Good luck with that.
People are talking about going back to normal? News flash:
"normal" was a continuous cycle of looting...in the multi
trillions. Enough said.
COOL! So, we're back to normal. :)
DeleteRight. The empire collapses and there is rearrangements. Just be the Minion that is the deplorable, salt of the earth, stay behind legacy tribe, and those whom persevere and trudge on despite the macro events. (Sorry beard boy threepers, you cannot and >have not< stopped shit) Think of generations of folks who ambled along under austere and privations conditions in their own collapsing empire. Ancient realms or w.w.2 over run nations. Not saying go Quisling gay for new management, but be the gray man that does o.k. (black market/sly kinda chap) considering the conditions. That is were the Bison Minion studies and practices will actually benefit you. The unicorn survivalists version will not cut the muster.
ReplyDeleteStay Frosty.
Threepers didn't draw a line in the sand at Patriot Act, or Red Flag, or Governor Executive Illegal Bill of Rights Nullification actions. So yeah, go back to stroking your plastic poodle shooters and Austrian sidekicks. Their hearts might be in the right place, but their asses aren't.
DeleteYep. Put up or shut up. The other, more smart kids are quietly and very studiously digging in for the longest seige and the collapsiest die off that the humans of earth have ever recorded. Ever. Be there to read of that history that you're in, right now. There is only one rule: "Don't Die!".
DeleteStay frosty.
I thought the only rule was "Don't talk about Die-Off Club"?
DeleteThis is the truest thing you've written: "the medical industry only incidentally saves lives. Its primary function is wealth extraction"
ReplyDeleteBeyond true.
Charles Hugh Smith calls it sickcare. he's not wrong
I think it is so obvious, it amazes me anyone can argue against it.
