PEAK OILERS UNDER EVERY BED
Ah, Raconteur Report, you crazy
bastard. Even when wrong, at least you
are well presented and interesting.
There you are, living in California which used to be THE biggest oil producer
in the country ( granted, the bar was lower back then ), and which now barely
vomits forth ANY oil ( and the refining is being allowed to go to crap, also ),
and you have no basis of comparison to give any validation that Peak Oil is a
problem? No, instead it is a leftist
propaganda tool ( this from a reader, not Aesop himself ).
*
I’m not pointing any specific fingers
at the above site. Nor questioning the
intelligence of its publisher. This was
a readers comment, to repeat. If I was
judged by the attitude of my readers, I would be mocked for loving
semi-automatic AR-15’s with FLIRS and ridiculed for only having a short term
food storage. Well, probably not, because
most folks think like that ( “what do you mean, poor people mostly lived off
grain?” “if you don’t have suppressive fire, how could you possibly fight?”
). But I SHOULD be judged by the company
I keep J
*
I just bring this up as I was
completely shocked and confused. There
was some guy once again judging everything in red and blue terms, and I
innocently asked how Obammy could be judged as if Peak Oil wasn’t a
reality. WOW! You would think that I accused the pope of
molesting a choirboy while crapping in the woods. I mean, it isn’t like the odds are too bad
that most of the Catholics clergy did in fact help the help along with their
sexual identity, nor is it like this current pope isn’t a total PC douche.
*
I shouldn’t have been village shunned
as if I had said anything untrue. And I
HAD gotten used to everyone going around waving a happy smile and pretending
that fracking would last two hundred years.
But I guess it wasn’t enough to ignore physics. You couldn’t admit fracking was just a corporate
stock market Ponzi scheme ( albeit a darn useful one buying us ten years before
the economic collapse ) and had to double seal the deal by throwing it under
the socialist bus. Yes, environmental
greenie policies are the only reason we are running out of energy. Suuuuuuurrrre.
*
There are reasons for environmental
policies, and almost every one involves somebody making money off of it. But the Left, supposedly because they are
retarded illogical unthinking morons, only want those policies because they are
robots repeating mantras. Did Obammy’s
policy against diesel have anything at all to do with that fuels shortage? Or
was it JUST because he is a Green Weenie?
If you think about it, taxes on diesel do put downward pressure on
demand, just what you need when shortages loom ( Fake Fuels deliver less to no
fuels other than gasoline, so where does diesel come from? ).
*
A tax is actually a far less
disruptive form of rationing than allowing the free market to impose sudden
catastrophic price hikes along with a product disappearing. People have time to make adjustments before
the tax is imposed which immediately relieves some pressure on demand and can
hence alleviate shortages. And once
taxes are imposed the idiots who had done nothing have no choice but to start
using less or using something else. And
as a bonus, the government gets more taxes.
Which is probably all they cared about, but the net effect is to sensibly
ration something.
*
I’ve said it before. Those professing a love of capitalism are
actually supporting globalism. I’d
actually rather live under socialism than capitalism which is in reality
nothing more than a cover for nation-less corporations stealing our jobs and
infrastructure while importing Turd World armies to eliminate us ( of course, I’d
prefer fascism. Not the racist kind, the
No Central Bank and Uber-Nationalist Militant kind ). But everyone is blinded by black and white
politics ( “you are either for or against us.
If you don’t eliminate ALL taxes and ALL regulations you are a communist”
).
*
( well, okay, a tiny bit of racism is
okay. Not enough to waste resources
eliminating other races, just enough to keep the nation homogenous and
culturally pure. Not racially pure, just
protecting the culture. If you don’t
want to merge into Whiteness over time, such as Mexicans, only understanding
English, here is a boat ticket to the land of your ancestors. How is that a bad thing? An American taco is no where close to a
Mexican taco. Chop Suey was invented in
America. We don’t need native speaking only
immigrants to assimilate other ideas as our own )
*
Anyway, back to confusing resource
decline with bad politics. Yes, leftists
are idiots. Look at them over in France,
protesting higher taxes and yet wanting more welfare. The right, however, is absolutely no
better. They want cheap gasoline which
is only possible by paying for a very expensive military and subsidizing money
losing Frackers ( you think they might have been slightly responsible for some
of the hype and disinformation? ). They
wonder how to make America Great again-meaning, a job would kind of be nice-by
eliminating all taxes on the rich and refusing to enforce any regulations on
companies.
*
They mock the Left for wanting
nationalized health care and then support “free market” facades for health and pharmaceutical
and insurance companies which are responsible for twenty to thirty percent
medical inflation a year. Both left and
right are patsies for the trifecta of evil that is literally killing
us-government, corporations and bankers, only differing about who has or needs
the most power over us and legitimacy from us.
Not that libertarians have the answers as they think open immigration is
a great idea ( but then, I guess they are part of the left/right ).
*
When the right says, hey,
environmentalists made up Peak Oil to control us ( because obviously even
further commutes to the last few jobs left, with the cheapest gasoline, is all
a great idea ), not only are they the water bearers for the globalists, they
are deluding themselves into believing Forever Abundance is just a vote
away. You shouldn’t be supporting anyone
that wants to kill you, and your only vote should be with your walking wallet,
getting far more free from all the dependencies that enslave you ( like a 30
year mortgage on that homestead, or a car ).

note: those laser boresighters I got on clearance sale? You know, because I'm awesome and have an odd choice of firearms? None of them worked as instructed. The on/off switch didn't work. I futzed with them for some time and finally figured out I had to ignore the switch. I just shoved a bit of tinfoil on top of the batteries. Enough that the sides of the case are contacted ( then you must remove to shut off the power ). I only paid a few bucks each, but the regular ones are about $20. It seems they wouldn't be such junk at that price. Just in case anyone has the same issues-better than dealing with returning for a refund, and they do then actually work.

Regarding those bore sighters. When I built my AR I got one on amazon and it didn't work at all and I got a refund. Got another one and it worked but there was no way to turn it off, except to remove the batteries. It used 3 of those button batteries. But here's the thing. The red dot was about 6" in diameter at just 30' of range. Yes, it let me sight in at that distance so that my initial firing wouldn't be wingers, but come on, 6"? Hell, I got some laser pointers laying around here, for the cats, so I could have taped one of them on the barrel and been just as close. You can get a laser pointer at any dollar store for about $3.
ReplyDeleteAt 25' I had no enlargement of the dot, so I had no complaints there. As for taping it to the barrel, correct me if I'm wrong but don't a lot of barrels taper on the outside? Or is that just closer to the chamber?
DeleteDon’t know if you saw this or not Jim, but this doesn’t sound good to me at all. The end may not be all that far off after all. The warmongering neo-cons were bad enough, but now the left has its own ax to grind with Russia over the perceived 2016 election loss of their desired lesbian in chief.
ReplyDeleteI’d like to air drop that cocksucker John Bolton, pants down, wearing a boys mask, over an ISIS training camp :D
US steps up winter-warfare training as global threat shifts
“After 17 years of war against Taliban and al-Qaida-linked insurgents, the military is shifting its focus to better prepare for great-power competition with Russia and China, and against unpredictable foes such as North Korea and Iran.”

I wouldn't worry-the paper tiger is mostly more growl than bite, baring nuclear ( and even then given maintenance issues... ). The Leftards want to appear as ferocious as a minority female or soy boy possibly can. We couldn't do much in Siberia in 1918 against a country just through a major world war and a revolution.
DeleteHmmm. I prefer capitalism because I think it's freer. The evil bankers just want my money - the communists want my soul. I will agree that our health care is the worst of all possible systems.
ReplyDeletePeak conventional oil is past. How long will conventional plus fracked oil last . . . before the supply contracts. It doesn't run out, it just is less oil this year than last. Given the nature of growth (generally) embedded in capitalism, I believe this is where the Colgate Invisible Shield will finally get us.
I'm working on a number. It'll be wrong, but it'll be interesting, just like Deffeyes' number was for conventional oil . . . .
I'd still say 2005 was pretty close enough for the conventional call. 2008 didn't just happen in a vacuum. And when was that Tortilla Revolution when we withdrew corn from Mexico? Just saying, production figures might be debated or shuffled but geopolitical events don't lie.
