rope for sale 3 of 3

ROPE FOR SALE 3
The hue and cry by myself and minions to invest in Industrial Age materials to survive the collapse in more style than bloated Ethiopian refugees has been ongoing for some time.  No natural material is as waterproof as plastic ( so, naturally, lets wrap houses with it to keep in the mold ), and a single roll will do wonders allowing you to burrow underground to survive the cold without natural gas or electric heat.  A few sheets of rigid board insulation will do wonders allowing you to burn just ten percent of the wood you normally would.
*
I’m sure it can’t be more obvious that there is no substitute for modern smokeless gunpowder and primers.  Even a four cent rimfire round is going to gain you far more tactical superiority than crossbows, longbows, flintlocks or anything else designed before the War Of Northern Aggression.  And grain.  Let us not forget grain.  One weeks wages at minimum wage will buy you three years of wheat at current prices ( storage container costs not included.  Just remember that while a large pallet tote container is cheaper than five gallon buckets, it also will make methane gas after you empty it, a far better improvement than the old Mao period inflatable tire tube or steel barrels systems ).
*
Even if you don’t plan on eating much of that wheat, it is nice to have just in case, and need it be repeated that once other folks get hungry, that wheat goes up a entire butt metric ton in value and price.  It is an Industrial Age commodity that is so cheap right now due to demand destruction globally, just like ammunition, that I would even tentatively recommend that if in a reasonable amount it almost might be worth getting into debt to buy.  If you normally get a tax return and you spent a thousand bucks for ammunition components and wheat, and can then pay that off completely this coming February, you just might want to consider it.
*
I despise debt as you all well know.  But I also despise using ones savings account.  And at this juncture I question if these screaming deals aren’t very, very fragile.  As in, they could end tomorrow.  Better to carry a tiny amount of debt, or gamble a minor amount of your savings, and lock in these deals.  Because you all know that economic collapse now has a window of hours.  Not days, certainly not weeks and laughably never years ( we are in decline, not collapse, even if I do use the terms interchangeably too often ).  You will NOT get any warning and anyone who tells you they can time the collapse just wants your money.  Hell, if you can afford that, just send it to me.  I’m more worthy.
*
You do understand I’m talking about manageable, never dangerous levels of debt, right?  I just doubled ( nearly ) my rifle ammunition supply by spending only $370, ten cents a round in lead and powder ( carbine rounds for the Enfield, not full power rifle rounds ).  If I hadn’t had the savings for that, I would have actually accepted one of those retarded credit card offers that charge 25% in interest and taken the financial hit.  Luckily, I had the savings.  Since I no longer make enough to file a tax return, it would have been a rather Not Fun method.  Such is my conviction of the time running out on these materials being cheaply available.
*
Next, get some junk land.  I know, it sucks.  Tough terrier turds.  And I’m not even talking about a collapse squat.  I’m talking about economic decline material.  Think about it for a second.  The federal government is paying a LOT of folks rent, directly as Section Eight housing for our glorious and under celebrated Disadvantaged Inner City Youth, or indirectly through Social Security or even Medicare ( they can’t afford both rent and medical.  Sam pays one they pay the other ).
*
How many undeserving folks have a job right now, because corporations are sucking off the stock bubble?  How many folks are living with their parents, and those parental units have a precarious job or a government benny paying the rent?  The point is, tens of millions of people are one payday from being homeless.  And there are only a few thousand pieces of junk land out there at current prices ( there is a lot more available, but the price will get to used car prices.  And not 70’s cars, but 2017’s ).  Not a large amount of Losing Their Homes Mother Humpers will think of roughing it off grid on junk land, but enough will that the supply will disappear.
*
Your ass needs to buy junk land NOW, just like ammunition and grain, because the low price is precarious as all get out.  It could end tomorrow.  And the great thing about junk land is that most of it is owner financed, no credit check, only $100 ( or so ) down.  So, really, you just need the $100 for the land, unlike the other two that is cash on the barrelhead.  Obviously, pay it off as soon as possible and keep the total amount Damn Skippy Low.  Because you do need other items such as shelter ( a bolt together dome with ferrocement cover and sheet insulation inside might run you $600, if that ), and cold weather gear and camping equipment and bike with parts and what not.
*
The goal is to get the hell out of the areas impacted the worst by immigration, or at least be ready ( have your supplies on hand, perhaps in a secure storage facility if need be, not just the money to buy them.  Money’s value can drop overnight with the stock market, and the stores can close ).  And to be ready for your job to be given to one of those immigrants.  And if you think competence and ability will protect your job?  WOW!  You don’t get out much, do you?
*
Look around you.  Who is hired based on ability any more?  I can’t think of one industry that isn’t all about profitable incompetence.  Things are relatively okay right now ( which lowers the bar on Bad ), what with our financial system still surviving, and the extra energy from the fracking oil.  And that won’t last.  Use the last days of employment to emergency invest in relocation.  Not JUST for post-apocalypse survival, but for the last phase of the economic decline which will feature the complete absence of all those nifty Industrial Age items we just discussed.

    Tough love right there.

    1. I had to learn the hard way that competence and ability means dick-all. Many times. I think I'm still learning. Just trying to help my peeps out.

    2. Bingo. This. Smarts and ability have almost nothing to do with getting almost any job, it's all connections. Yes, you have to be smart enough to not actually get people killed at your job, most of the time (this does not apply if you're a cop or even a 911 operator). But that's about it.

  2. Not much to add here, except buy tons of toilet paper now so you can pay your property tax later. Ask your friendly neighborhood Argentinian.

    2. Meh,a male can make one roll last a year. Just follow these four easy steps.

      1. Tear off one sheet of toilet paper.
      2. Fold into four quarters.
      3. Tear off one quarter.
      4. Use torn quarter to clean under fingernails when done.

  4. Just a reminder of the danger of buying via "owner financing" AKA: "contract for deed". If the owner has financial problems, you can lose everything you have paid plus the land. It doesn't matter if he owns the property "free and clear" when you both sign the contract for deed. His creditors will have legal right to it over you. It has happened to many people. Some shady sellers, when they know they are in trouble, will offer the property via contract for deed just to collect the down payment for a cash infusion.

    1. A valid concern. When I bought from individuals, it was only for several hundred dollars. I could afford to lose it. Once it became thousands, I was usually buying from a company. The junk land featured in the After Article Info Dump seems to lean towards company owned land. It wouldn't be the worst precaution you could take to stick to those. After all, time is short. Do it right the first time. You will find the deals w/the company land, even if you are paying a slight premium.

  5. So, we must be tough-terrier-turd land in an area "least affected by immigration" so, what do you think of Rawles' "Western Redoubt" which is, I believe, intended to become a white ethno-state? With some interesting quirks; I believe polygamy is part of the eventual plan.

And to make a living as subsistence agriculturists and herdsmen, will take a LOT of land. Not an acre but 10's or 100's of acres.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Redoubt has its issues. Idaho might seem nice, but the California immigrants are overrunning the place. They will bring their poison culture with them. Montana is one of the nations least effected states by that measure. OR and WA are basket cases politically and culturally and unless the eastern counties get more independent you are getting desert land with coastal taxes and regulations. The only thing I can recommend is finding out who is losing population steadily, but that limits you to three or four states nationally. You can easily research localities at www.city-data.com as they list ethnicity percentages. Not just cities but also counties. You can figure out population densities and if they are too Other Color. First you must pick your state, then find the safest local spot. So everyone is going to be different. I think Idaho is bad because of less jobs and high land prices, but others might not think so. Sure, they are being poisoned by Cali, but so is Nevada. They primarily settle in Vegas but Vegas controls the politics here.

    2. I posted on this just recently in the comments Jim. My understanding was that only 4 states are not growing in illegal immigration, those states being: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and The Dakota’s. Also be aware that there is an active agenda by the left to import minorities into predominately white areas, via subsidized housing. North Dakota actually lost population (A good thing to me) and South Dakota only grew ½ of a percent (I believe that this was for 2017). Personally, I’d avoid Idaho, or any state with a large influx of Kalifornians, for they will soon be ruined. Even the western parts of Wyoming and Montana are attracting these folks on some level. I got something in my email from the NRA just recently about the governor of Montana pushing for some gun control legislation, so apparently, enough Kalifornians have moved into that state.

For me personally, this limits me to only about 3 states. The Dakota’s, and possibly Nebraska. I’d consider western Kansas, as it’s quite rural, but being so close to the now blue state of Colorado worries me. I still have my Elko land, but if I were to go elsewhere, it would likely be one of the above.

None of this protects you from the increasingly encroaching federal government however. You must have all of your guns, ammo, reloading equipment (Or anything else that the government doesn’t want you to have) in place now. The idea is to go to one of the above states and drop off the grid. Dramatically reduce your internet presence, and thus your digital footprint (public wifi is probably best). Get a cell phone with a removable battery. Revert to old style communications, such as Ham radio. As time goes on, I find the internet to be less useful, and completely controlled by the left. I mostly use it as a dictionary, and now visit only a handful of sites on a regular basis.

Surprisingly, one of the tips in the link below, is to avoid driving a car (I thought you’d like that :D ).

    3. But...cars are like apple pie! Patriotic and stuff:). Sorry I didn't remember your posts-a LOT gets lost in my data vacuuming. It seems east Montana has some possibilities. Low Cali immigration, perhaps far less growth than the west part, akin to its neighbors? But, of course, prairie winters. Just saying, a bit more research, if the state itself offers tax advantages. I don't know, I kind of like the advantage Elko offers of very close bug out wilderness. Do the Dakota's have that? I'm not sure. I imagine all prairie, but perhaps the Black Hills? Or is that indig controlled?

      Delete
    4. Yes, eastern Montana would probably be a good choice. I’m pretty sure the nice land in western Montana has gone up considerably, and I have heard that some celebrities (David Letterman for example) have bought summer resorts there. I suppose that you could include eastern Wyoming as well, but I refuse to consider that state on principle alone (nicknamed the equality state, because apparently way back in the 19th century, a bunch of feminist males thought it was a grand idea to empower women; this being back in the days when men were supposed to have more common sense than today).

Yes, you bring up a good point about Elko. You have the nearby mountains to retreat to if the golden horde ever gets too close. Just grab a backpack and wait em out until they all die off.

You have the Black Hills, the Badlands, etc. I think that place where Wild Bill was, Deadwood SD, was rather hilly and wooded. But generally you’re right. There’s not as many hiding places in these states. The advantage is that there is a lot less people.

      Delete
    5. I think this just shows the issue of discarding or accepting entire states, yet also the issue believing one area in a state is acceptable. I'm hidden, mostly, up here but Vegas politics can screw me. Yet, every single state has pockets of goodness. Montana politics suck, true, but so does everyone else. Kansas is still affected today by Civil War politics. I guess it just depends on where you sleep soundest at night, regardless of the negatives. If Elko doesn't warm your heart, it simply isn't the best place regardless of what the checklist suggests. If a state just doesn't smell right, discard immediately ( mine was Louisiana ). If a place has a thousand problems but feels like home, you work around them. Hell, I never thought Nevada would feel so right, and now I won't leave ( and it isn't because I have land here. I can get cheap enough lots elsewhere ).

    6. While I haven’t been to my Elko land yet, I think that I will like the area, as I do like the high desert. When I went to visit the ghost town of Bodie (Very similar to Elko in appearance) I loved it. My only issue is the close proximity to Kalifornia, as well as Hwy-80. On the positive side, it’s in the eastern half of Nevada, and my land is 5 miles from the highway over rough roads. I’ll give it a chance.

    7. You know the #1 destination for Californians? Texas. We might be right next door but we aren't the primary victim, as far as immigration. Post-collapse, Elko is out of gas range, pert near close enough for everyone. If it is winter, nobody gets over easy anyway.

  6. This may be semantic but what do you mean by junk land? I've been looking for "raw" or "unimproved" land for years and in the wooded area of eastern wa, I get about 4, 4.5k/ acre. N Idaho is more expensive to my surprise. I can buy w/ cash now but when I was looking to finance I needed 50% down even with spectacular credit. Maybe my criteria is too strict? But to me timber and a creek (or in an area of heavier rainfall) are pretty basic.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Timber and a crick is Yuppie Scum land. Junk land is $500-$3k land. Something you can pay off with the upcoming tax return. Yes, everyone's criteria is different, but that is my definition-land the lower class can afford. With a near new food grade plastic pallet tote under $100 in some cases, rain catchment is a viable alternative to a water source on your land. I'd still want a local source, walking distance, as a back up, but adding a creek of your own jacks up the price to nose bleed levels. Okay, you can't farm on junk land. So what? Industrial grain is so cheap that isn't an issue either.

  8. Where can I buy raw grain fit for consumption.? Which containers are good for storing it? Sorry for the basic questions, I'm new here.

    Replies
    1. No problem. Go to a feed and grain store. Not the Yuppie one with fancy dog food, the type for farmers/ranchers. Buy "untreated" ( no vet meds ) whole kernal ( not cracked or split ) winter wheat. Red winter is best, white winter is fine just lower protein. Don't get spring wheat. It doesn't store as well. If you are storing a little, five gallon buckets ( triangle 2 symbol on bottom ). A lot, one of those pallet totes ( IBC? ), food grade ONLY. If you have a cola bottler, they used to sell 30 gallon syrup plastic barrels. Clean out good with hot water ( at the car wash? ). If you don't have a feed and grain store nearby, you'll have to buy through Wal-Mart ( see my link below each article ). Happy to answer any further details. Comment or e-mail ( my mail address also at the end of each article ).

    2. James, Thanks for the reply. Just moved back to Montana with my wife and kids from a 30 year sojourn in Southern Californistan. Was starting to get a bad feeling that circus won't end well, so I sold my house and business and returned home. There are a bunch of feed stores around here, and I am intrigued by the Augason Farms offerings at Wal-Mart. Any further recommendations along those lines are appreciated. I'm making your blog a regular stop. Thanks again

    3. If you have feed stores, I'm not sure why you want to buy the Wally wheat. It is a great product, but not cheap at near $1 a pound. I'm in a high cost area and my wheat is 20cents a pound at the feed store. Even buying expensive plastic buckets you still only pay half cost doing it yourself ( I don't worry about chaff and other grains in the feed bag. They grind up just fine ). Congrats on getting the Hell out of the HellHole. I was born and raised there, finally escaped and will never go back for any reason. Not because of the criminals, but if I try to defend myself against them. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. I'm here to save people money, after I made almost of the mistakes myself, or took too long learning lessons and now we run out of time. Welcome as a loyal minion.
