Grenada was an all out
effort on our part, a repeat of WWII or Vietnam where massive amounts of
hardware and men were moved long distances and inept leadership and poor
training and terrible equipment was all overcome by sheer numbers. All to take over a tiny island guarded by a
few Cuban mercenaries. Wow, we showed
them! Well, yes, we showed the world we
were as big of a military as ever, kind of, sort of. Granted, you don’t need a huge military to
guard oil fields in the middle of barren deserts or field nuclear weapons, but
we did prove we were still in charge of the ocean trade routes, so that was a rather
important. We proved we had what it
takes not to win a conventional war but what it takes to keep our spoils from one. The US cannot and will not ever successfully
fight a conventional war ever again. We
don’t have the military for it, nor the logistics. And with nuclear weapons, we dare not try as
it would be suicidal ( we might try, being idiots, but one would hope not
).
*
All these fools crying
about imminent war with Russia still actually think we could duplicate Vietnam
in force projection. All it takes is a
quick glance at tables of operation to table that fantasy. Now, add in EROI and tell me our military
today is any match for the one fifty years ago.
Logistically, because as history tells us military leadership is
terrible most times and doesn’t have as much bearing as you would think. And our leadership is far worse than you
think, anyway. Corporate politicians
attempting to fight guerrillas with technology ( just as we vainly tried to do
fifty years ago, but then with MORE men and weapons ). Syria is NOT another Vietnam because we can’t
fight another Vietnam War. It is a war
like Grenada, the only kind of war we can fight after the defeat of a
Vietnam. We just got our asses handed to
us on a platter in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those were a miniature Vietnam,
and the only war we have left in us are Grenada’s.
*
Why do you think we made
sure the opposition forces were cleared out of our impact zone? Because we aren’t fighting them, we are
fighting our imperial decline. We don’t
have it in us to start a conflict with a real nation state with a real
army. We can fight guerrillas all day
long, as long as we stay within our annual ammunition budget. When guerrillas OVERSEAS defeat us we are
still a viable nation state. If another
nation defeated us, even overseas, we might cease to be a nation. That is why guerrilla forces win the war but
national armies are needed to accept the defeat. We won’t dare take the chance of losing to
another nation state. I mean, terrorist
propaganda aside, forth generational forces have already won the war against
us. Our police forces can’t occupy or
control our ghettos, despite how fierce they look all dressed up in black SWAT
tacti-cool gear. We can’t control our
southern border due to the narco’s, despite however much we harass unarmed
illegals or white citizens in that demilitarized zone.
*
If you can’t keep order
within your borders, being so moronic as to keep inventing new categories of
irregulars you pay to move in such as Muslims, you are not a viable nation
state. You are a failed state. You still have a national border and a flag
and a president, with national elections even, but you are merely a puppet barely
held up covering a vast territory you can’t control. In Afghanistan the government really only
controls Kabul, and that has been the case for forty years. All the outlying areas are tribal held. In the US, the federal government only really
controls Washington DC and the poverty areas of high tribal cohesion are not
controlled but only bribed, as Rome saw in its decline. Even the two coasts of relative prosperity
only see enclaves of the rich surrounded by uncontrolled areas of contested
tribal occupation. Local law enforcement
only keep some order due to enough money flowing in that the natives peacefully
accept the bribes and lend conditional acceptance to that authority. If the bribes stop, so does any order.
*
I don’t think most people
have any idea how little national authority or control DC has outside its city
hold. The doom porn criers are so busy
occupying themselves with visions of how we are going to all die by Blue
Helmeted UN forces led by Satanic One World Order Rothschildian forces that
they overlook the obvious Control By Forces Of Entropy. The center cannot hold, and it hasn’t
been. Why do you think our economy hasn’t
improved in a decade? It isn’t waiting
on some magic schedule predicated on studying past energy growth periods. We are in energy decline, not as measured by
volume but by delivered net energy. As
resources decline, Rome’s measured by decreases in wheat compared to population
growth, ours measured by the oil needed to grow wheat compared to population
growth, the empire falls. We are RIGHT
NOW living in imperial failure. To state
that we are about to go to war because of Syria is to vote for energy
INCREASE. It is nothing more than
another version of Fracking.
*
If Grenada was about
proving we still controlled the oil flow, than this Grenada repeat is an
attempt to prove we still have enough oil energy to do what it takes to remain
an empire. The difference is that then
we got an increased energy flow from Saudi Arabia and Alaska and could stage a
fake war that delivered a believable message.
This time we can’t even duplicate the first Grenada. It is just a few bombs on a piece of asphalt
of zero strategic importance ( the main tarmac was back in use almost
immediately ). Okay, I get it. As Emperor, you have to try to kick ass and
take names and keep things from falling apart too fast. BoyTrump has to do something. If he has no other skills he is a showman
just like Reagan was. But it was a façade
of war, an even weaker and more pathetic attempt than from Obammy. We are NOT all going to die from this event
itself.

Agreed. The 'attack' on a Syrian airfield is just a show, and not a very convincing one either. Putin and Assad probably see it the same way. The only question is if the Jihadi's and Beer Swilling American Bobs are convinced by it or just annoyed by it.
ReplyDeleteAt least with JFK they put some effort into concealment and selling the lie. Now, lazy bastards can't even be bothered to try.
DeleteDouble duty strike, it also keeps the tomahawk factory in profits just a while longer.
