what savings? 1 of 2

WHAT SAVINGS?
*
note: a new Bison Book Batch is out http://amzn.to/2CXPUIv .  Nothing too special.  The Civil War book was originally a series of blog articles.  "Testicles" was covered here but in a much shorter length ( completely rewritten as a book ).  You won't miss much if you don't buy, but of course I'd appreciate the support if you do.
*
Recently, besides having to wade through virtual mountains of feces singing the praises of the idiot who brought you magical electronic semi-trucks and visits to the Little Green Men of Mars ( say hello to Marvin when you get there-friggin idiot! ), evidently there being too few suckers left to believe the Fracking Faggots anymore about Unlimited Oil because they are all dog piling atop the newest most magical glittery unicorn bandwagon-this time it’s different for tulips-BitCoin, there has also been a rash of articles about the mythical Savings Crisis.  Again.

*

When it was said that history doesn’t repeat but it sure does rhyme,  I don’t think that was permission for the utter hacks in the mainstream news media to use a spinning pie chart of two decade old excuses and consult it for the Next New Things to report.  The Amazon Effect has been brandied about for twenty years.  Recently we saw Starving Seniors Eating Cat Food stories once again ( and that one is more like forty years old-a classic ).  Every time health insurance or medical expenses increase, we get some vaporware piece on how without high tech we would all be dying at Black Plague levels.  So it’s a good thing we charge so much extra money!

*

Every time something important SHOULD be reported, analyzed, scrutinized or even questioned, one of these time wasters is trotted out for diversion, or, if need be for variety,  yet another Democrat V. Republican Non-Story.  Because they are ALL non-stories.  They are puff pieces, like a Ted Turner 24 hour news channel story showing at three AM.  Do you know why I hated to go to the Laundromat so much?  It was at most twenty-five minutes each week, then I’d take the wet clothes back home and put them on the line.  No worse than shaving ( although, I did try out a beard for the first time in twenty-five years and have changed my mind on their unsuitability-I mean, Hell, you know how much time that will save me in my busy Make Work schedule? ).

*

The utter drek droned on and on about on the TV in the place, always on the news channel.  And that was the fake Conservative channel I was driven completely mad with.  I can’t imagine the half hour of PC Approved Slogan Talk I’d have been faced with otherwise.  But even after about three minutes, the complete banality of it all was nails on a chalkboard.  I would imagine if I’m ever cast down into the fiery bowels of Hell one of the tortures besides pits of snakes and leaping attack spiders and soup can wide dildos up the pooper ( and I’m talking Progresso, not Campbell’s Condensed ) would be my eyes propped open by splinters as I’m forced to watch Rush Limbaugh & Friends babbling their Corporate CEO approved brainwashing like the Fox channels love.

*

If the Third Reich had the corporate controlled Internet and the Disney/GE controlled media like we do, they would have increased efficiency.  Their empire might have made a better go of it, as the world happily went along with the Final Solution and Lindbergh won in his isolationism bid ( okay, not really, but perhaps.  The elites could have still saved themselves by Fellow Fascist arms sales rather than by allying with the commies and Fabian Socialists, and saved hundreds of thousand of lives of their fellow citizens ).

*

All of this is propaganda, not “news” by any means, but no corporation is altruistic.  They make money off of this slop they sling.  I’m not sure how this incestuous relationship actually pays money anymore, if you have the same corporation advertising on its own channel, but that knowledge is above my pay grade.  Perhaps the expense is merely the cost of doing business to stay in business with the stock price increasing.  Perhaps all this frantic economic activity costs millions but in the end the one guy at the top ( and his board members ), members of the .0001% Club, make all their money in this strip mining operation.

*

But somehow this media strategy is making someone money.  When yet again we read yet another fabricated story that had traction ten years ago and is being repeated ( Miracle Energy Source articles have been going on forever, stock investor sucker bait ), we must ask ourselves who is profiting.  Why is there the sudden resurgence of the “seniors aren’t saving enough to retiree” articles?  Now, the simplest answer is probably the correct one.  Which is, there is no news anymore and everything is really just random filler with no meaning.  But I don’t think that is the answer I want to accept because somehow I need to believe that the elite are smart enough to steer events in the direction they desire.

*

If that ISN’T true, then that means there is more chaos and anarchy.  Less control means one less can kicked down the road which means the collapse ends up happening quicker.  In my heart, I know these humpers are complete and utter idiots and have no idea what they are doing, but my Happy Optimist Face insists on believing on some level, even if not convincingly, that there is an ulterior motive on seemingly innocent reporting.  It’s just got to be more than the random ingredient they chose to stuff the crap sandwich with!

*

I don’t think the banks want more money ( the articles are saying you should now have a minimum of a million in savings for retirement ), only because they should have figured out how to circumvent the minimum savings requirement in the fractional reserve Ponzi scheme long ago.  It would seem more plausible to assume they are trying to dump even more savings into the stock market bubble.  And no, the average guy with a million bucks isn’t going to be suckered into that.  He had to have been mildly intelligent or so dishonest he is naturally paranoid that others want to steal what he stole.

*

This must be directed at the small fry savers.  The average worker who they screwed out of the home equity savings which was all they had.  Take their savings and then renew their fears that if they don’t put more money out there to be stolen, they will spend their retirement as Wal-Mart greeters ( which was probably why that stupid book on RV dwellers working at Amazon we just talked about got published and promoted.  Amazon shipping clerk is the new Wal-Mart greeter, in case Wally has to fire them all over again to save money ).

*

Are we THAT big of suckers?  Probably.  Look at all the idiots running web sites falling for the NORK nuke scares, herding their readers into the shopping line for more rad pens, potassium tablets, Geiger counters and backyard fallout shelters.  Look, make fun all you wish, but at least the leadership there is aware of how dangerous the US is to their existence as a political entity ( and perhaps you’ll do well to remember that the US agreed to patrician Vietnam and Korea-one cynically assumes as a future Military Industrial Complex profit center ).  Libya voluntarily made the good will gesture abandoning their nuclear program, and the Ukraine voluntarily gave up their arsenal, at the insistence of  Good Old Boy America who only wanted world peace and democracy.  And did that work out for you, suckers? ).

*

Okay, long enough for one day.  Continued tomorrow.

  1. They base the cost of retirement on the cost of living as one does while working and raising a family plus the cost of medical care. Truly farcical. If they made an intelligent argument they would be talking about putting your paid for home into a trust so that it doesn't count as an asset against medical bills, converting your yard to a garden to provide exercise and healthy nutrition, and getting rid of everything you don't need in your retirement (why two cars if you are retired??? why an upstairs that you don't visit? etc.) Seriously anyone who wants to or thinks they might need to retire needs to cut expenses to the bone, then cut into the bone, THEN and only then concern themselves with how much they need to have saved.

    1. Right, but we can't have folks cutting costs to live on less. That would be less money for the bankers. They say the majority of Romans felt the barbarians offered better government. I wonder how many will welcome Lesser Cost local warlords over the bankers?

    1. Does a bear crap in the popes bathroom? Of course not! I'm not sure if you're continuing in the vein of my hilarious ( okay, at least cynical and biting ) tulip mania/bitcoin remark in the article, or are serious. So, seriously, Hell no! Also, if serious, thank you.

    2. I may send our Dear Lord Bison a fraction of a litecoin so he too can feel the surge of adrenaline flow through his veins as the mania unfolds over the next few months. Actually, if you get a litecoin paper wallet i could send you some in minutes as a token of appreciation for your blog. Others could also send you donations this way. Then you could hold them and let it ride.

    3. I have no idea how those work. But...appreciation in all forms is welcomed.

  3. "why two cars if you are retired???"
    ====================================

    In case one breaks down?
You need the other one to go pick up the broken one when it's fixed. There are no Taxi's out here in Ruralville and friends are working when repaired vehicles need to be picked up.

We have 3 vehicles and last year on my wife's ride the rear brake lines both rusted through and leaked all the fluid out. The day before the l-rear brake on my Blazer locked up. This was on a Fri and neither could be repaired until Mon. Luckily my 27 year old pick up was standing by as it always is. That truck has very little market value and the yearly insurance is less than $300 and it get's better gas mileage than the other 2. Think I'll keep it. I bought that truck brand new in 1990 for $8,888.88 and I still think of it as the best thing I ever bought.

    1. I think the question was rhetorical, but the answer is also correct. As much as I hate cars, it is still better insurance for the collapse than rent/mortgage.

  4. we have 2 cars. have to or unable to get to doctor, store, post office, grocery.
mine is over 20 years and husband's is over 15 years. mine is very reliable but when one is in the shop, we have the other to fall back on.
unless a miracle occurs i reckon these are the last cars we'll own.
taxies are too expensive and we are not ingood enough shape to go by bus and walk, especially when it is snow and ice.
you will also note that sidewalks are often omitted and when there are sidewalks they are often not maintained, to say the least.

    1. Here, in a better economy than most ( past tense, now ), the sidewalks are still allowed to go to complete Hell. Too much municipal money is going to connected contractors. It is so obvious they don't even try to hide it. Thankfully the town is small enough you can still safely bike, so if the sidewalks are complete crap you can still use the roads. I understand most places are far worse. No sidewalks, too much traffic.

    1. Believe me when I say the praise is wonderful indeed. Just know, it is only mandatory if you criticize or disagree.
