FLEAS BILLIONS

note: if you haven't seen this before, rare photos of my two pit projects ( the photos are towards the end of the article ).  Keep in mind if you read the comments, after I took the pics I enlarged the dirt steps so that now I have a rain sump and I get natural air flow from the floor up through the other end ceiling vent so there is ZERO moisture build up.

Every once in awhile I come across the old federal fiasco of the billion rounds of 40 cal pistol stockpiled, seemingly to enable our overlords to suppress any inclination of revolt and Obama will maybe do…something.  Another Red Line In The Sand?  The kind of not well hidden reason was FEMA was stockpiling for the New Madrid earthquake ( sure, that’s a “thing”, but probably on par with Yellowstone showing dangerous signs of imminent eruption -for three years now ), with a butt ton of MRE’s and the aforementioned ammunition.  Didn’t we just get all worked up when the Feds had a military exercise in Texas, something like that?  Hey, I’ve been on military exercises, the ones supposedly there to convince the North Koreans and Soviets that we were Billy Bad-asses and not to be trifled with and the only reason they would be awed would be if their exercises were MORE shallow, pretentious and a travesty, making the pre-ordained victory in  war gamming of the Japanese Pacific war look professional.  You think our military is so dangerous, why haven’t we won a war the last half century?

*

I’m rarely ever overly impressed about the federals magical powers, or for that matter the supposed abilities of their OpFors, the militia porn kings.  You want Keystone Kops or the Three Stooges, there you go.  At the time, I was guessing that the ammo stockpile was probably, at most, all the fat weather forecasters, paper pushing supervisors, clerks and HR department personnel merely being armed in case their building got invaded in a riot or something similar.  Rather than pay a cop poser to secure each building, send some balding idiot with pretensions to a few classes, give him a pistol he has to keep locked up, and call it a good day in The War On Terror.  And why not?  The front line troops, the federal law enforcement boys ( FLEA-federal law enforcement agency ), were going back to 9mm, probably because letting all the females and fags into the agencies you didn’t want a pistol round that actually, you know, recoiled, so they went back to the round they knew and loved.  But why waste all those 40 cal pistols?

*

( recoil, another perfectly good PC reason to stay with the M16, because while biology is forbidden, we can still use technology to nullify its actual effects.  Speaking of the Poodle Shooter, you want to use the standard rifle for cost and spare parts reasons-even if the round is weak and anemic-and use it as mid range sniper single shot?  This way eliminates fouling and wear and tear.  Remove the gas tube and block off the vent on the gas block, probably with epoxy and screw or similar.  Pour in molten lead?  It should be easy to hack-and won’t cost $200 for the only Adjustable Gas Block that you can use reliably without breaking it-most are meant for a one time set and forget-and now you have a straight pull bolt for sniping.  Have your AR without needing many magazines or extra ammo.  Now, I understand that right about now you semi simians are grasping for breath and in danger of releasing that blood clot into your brain, but if you think about it for a second, if you are using that little thing on the top called sites and actually aim, you don’t need to employ a shotgun approach to shooting.  And even at a hundred yards, who doesn’t have time to reload manually?  Just ponder it ).

*

I don’t know if I was correct in my assumption that support personnel with the Federales were getting surplus weapons to lend a hand in any coming revolt.  It seems likely they could help pull security duties in an emergency, but surely not to actually get out on to the street and shoot at dissidents.  Hell, any Black hoodlum is more of a match for a ATF SWAT bitch ( I would use the example of the Dallas or Houston-one of those big Texas cities- LEO massacre just past but a little voice keeps telling me that could have been a False Flag Attack ) than any militia fantasyland keyboard warrior, and there are a lot of them, so armed office workers wouldn’t stand much of a chance.  Hell, even White redneck crack heads wouldn’t be very effective, but they also have the numbers and more importantly the substance that makes them at least temporary fearless Mau-Mau’s.  The cubicle office reserves would be as effective as Polish cavalry.  Of course, it makes more sense than the reason why ammo prices went through the roof.

*

As I’ve said before, we went through years of fighting in the Sandbox using plenty of ammunition and I was still buying rimfire ammo-oh, that prodigious waster of brass and lead-for two and a half cents a round in bulk, and in case you kind of missed my whole wrath on carbine submachine gun ammunition wasting military tactics not to be emulated by survivalists, they go through a butt ton of ammo over there ( I simply love all these military historians living in our current Age Of Plenty, looking back at the Army’s refusal to adapt guns that “wasted” ammo as ludicrous, when resources and logistics prior to our Oil Age were indeed scarce and expensive-short sighted sumbitches, like all those Fracking Fags who think Willpower And Education actually create resources ).  The Iraq and Afghanistan War didn’t cause ammo shortages, but a FLEA purchase does?  Illogical.  Copper shortages, now THAT is a far better explanation.  Even though we can’t admit Peak Oil or Peak Copper because that would mean the whole semi-auto tactical paradigm is in danger, not to mention our well paying city jobs, our McMansions and the perennial favorite SUV.

*

Then, after everyone is done being busy getting all excited that every lone federal worker from the Forrest Service to the Food Stamp administrators is going to arm themselves and join the jackbooted Brown Shirts taking away our AR’s, then they turn around and start babbling about how all the Oath Keepers won’t fire onto their fellow citizens since it is, you know, un-Constitutional and what not and such.  Now, let me just skim the surface of my dysfunctional memory here and take only the more well know examples countering this bullspunk.  The War Of Northern Aggression.  Indian genocide.  Burning and shooting the unarmed peaceful War Bonus marchers during the Great Depression by such charming Army leaders as Macarthur and Patton.  Kent State.  Machinegunning Union workers on strike.  The War On Drugs.  I could go on, but I trust my point has been made.  No one Needs No Stinking Constitution, and shooting your fellow countrymen has a long and proud tradition.  So, all these “reporters” and their blogs and their “analysis”, where do they get their facts?  Out of their ass?

*

I’m certainly not calling for accuracy as a benchmark.  When you are stuck in a sea of propaganda,  no real news NOT being controlled or suppressed, all you can do is read the official lies and guess at what is between the lines.  And that is going to generate a lot of mistaken analysis.  What I disapprove of is this analysis being conducted by frightened little girls, all emotional and easily upset, ignoring logic in favor of fear and loathing.  Sweet Baby Jesus On A Pogo Stick, are we that emasculated and feminized already, that we can’t logically sort out issues and dangers?  And no, Nancy ( “Scrubs” reference ), I’m not saying emotionalism in females is a bad thing.  I’m saying emotional men are problematic unless the ONE emotion is anger.  We don’t have to have all the answers, certainly not if those answers are mere hysterical reactions rather than thoughtful conjectures.  Why do you think I don’t concern myself with partisan politics?  Because it isn’t even a real issue, it is just a emotional button we keep allowing to get pushed ( we have one party here in this country, the Imperial Party, and voting won’t change that ).

*

I certainly don’t mind discussing Click Bait Poser Prepper article ideas.  It gives one something to do.  You don’t even need to be reading me more than about once a week, past its entertainment value.  If I just condensed down to bullet points, it would save us all a lot of time.  So really, us showing up every day is more along the lines of tribal identity reinforcement.  We want to know there are others like us out there, those that refuse to be panicked into shopping for expensive prepper items unnecessary or even detrimental, herded in panic.  Mavericks in mayhem.  Ignoring ignorance.  And every day does bring SOME value, if only reinforcement to stay the course in frugality.  But you would also do well to stay clear of the worst offending “news” sources that only strive to get you wound up and worried over the wrong issues.  Like Federal Invincibility, Militia Functionality or similar fantasies.  Those that misdirect, as the LEAST of their sins.

  1. Been on active duty 42 years, now retired. I have heard the nonsense about the military refusing to collect weapons or people domestically. My considered opinion is that they will do what they are told; perhaps not with the utmost diligence, but they will deploy and execute.

I was in Korea (USMC 0311) when Truman fired MacArthur. If MacArthur had refused to resign, attempted to seize control of elements of his command, we, as line infantry, would have done as directed by our Company Commander and Platoon Leaders. And kept doing it as long as we were provided with beans, boots, bullets, and bandaids. We talked about that possibility and had no doubt about what to do.

I have read that French farmers always kept something to be confiscated when the German troops conducted a sweep. Hide the good stuff; leave an old shotgun poorly hidden to be found. Find something; mission accomplished: Let's go home, It is the way most troops think.

    1. Yeh, I don't recall ever being overly diligent about any duties. We get paid either way and the officers are idiots, so do the least permissible.

    2. Anon, if a weapon was discovered during the Occupation the culprit was killed, no exceptions.

    4. And plenty of them will get shot all the way through the head if they try to confiscate anything or anyone out here in the sticks.

  2. There are a number of parallels to the Volkssturm here, except there is more stuff available.

The issue seems to be about manpower, when it should be about strategy, but I guess the real strategy is as usual a "hush-hush rich people conspiracy" à la Deborah Wasserman-Schultz that lower echelons are not being briefed upon and which will leave them either without orders or, like in the military, obeying like puppets to micromanaging fat old politicans who are too old for computer games but would still like to behave like in a Tom Clancy novel.

The Volkssturm had several uses. In the countryside, it was to avoid disorder, crime or marauding gangs. In cities, it was to add up numbers for urban combat (it worked well in Aschaffenburg). Also, it helped field suppletive forces to the army.

In France, reserve gendarmes are now routninely used to patrol streets, guard buildings and even do some police work. These are people who have a regular job during the week, and on week-ends they have to work as a regular policeman. As a side note, police work is very exhausting, policemen need more days off (a bit like teachers actually). This is going on for too long now, and in the end it just reeks of governmental amateurism and bankruptcy.

This is not a viable option at all (like the Volkssturm) and is actually accelerating the disintegration.

Which might have been the plan all along.

  3. I have tried to get information from a wide variety of places. Most of it I'm in no position to judge. We have an awful group whining about climate change. Actually two groups pro and con. The other day I got to hear a real person explain how the world if flat and that we are controlled by freemasons. I really wish he was crazy, but he is just as sane as those Jehovah Witnesses that show us once a year. ( or those whinny climate denialist) So I'm here. Bisonville. We don't serve no stinking koolade!

  4. I did a lititle research I thought you might find interesting. It has be widely reported that the military is shopping for a new rifle chambered in something more substantial than 5.56. The current idea is to go .308/7.62. Here's the interesting tidbit, a 20 round mag of .308 has 3740 grains od brass. A 30 round mag of 5.56 has 2850 grains. What if it's not just the effectiveness of the round but the cost of loading out a soldier that is at issue?

    1. I wouldn't put it past the military to want to save $1 a mag full when they waste $millions on needless useless weapons systems, but I also know they don't care about effectiveness either. Any military who cares about its groundpounders doesn't let females serve front line. So it is hard to tell. I'm not holding my breath for anything but reports and committees with no action.

  5. Regarding your AR/bolt conversion.

Mine has an adjustable gas block that has a 5/64" allen set screw on the front. When I set it up I turned the set screw all the way in, then backed it out 3 turns. Load in a magazine with one round and fire it. The magazine locked back as it should, ready for a new magazine to be inserted. The screw was turned in 1/2 turn and a new mag with 1 round installed and fired and again the bolt locked back. Turned the screw in 1/2 turn and inserted another mag and this time the bolt did NOT lock back because the amount of gas allowed to pass through had been sufficiently limited. So I turned the screw back OUT 1/2 a turn and put a dot of blue Permatex on it.

A standard AR or M16 allows all the gas to pass through which results first off in a much dirtier bolt and upper receiver. It also has some recoil (kick) because of it. Some of this recoil can be neutralized with a heavier buffer and stronger buffer spring. My AR now kicks less than a .22 auto rifle and this allows a much quicker recovery time for getting back on target.

I haven't done it, but in theory, turning the set screw all the way in would result in no gas going through and there ya go, instant bolt gun.

I paid about $150 for my adjustable gas block 5 months ago and just the other day I saw they had dropped in price to the $50 range. Always works that way. Prices stay high until I get tired of waiting for them to drop and finally buy some thing then the price plummets.

    1. I think the cheapest gas block I saw was $80 but I didn't look that hard. In theory, better to pay $50 and have the option of going back to semi, but I was thinking of how someone could do it for free or just a few bucks worth of epoxy. I imagine the block innards is in the form of an L? One solid piece of epoxy or lead should in theory be secured from being shot back out towards the chamber. I guess you could double secure that by also taking the tube, crimping it then using more epoxy from the crimp to the end that enters the gas block. I'm theorizing of course.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, I think you're right about the L, though I'd like to think the "corner" of the L was rounded to prevent accumulation. Basically the block is a donut with a hole inside the donut hole, that then "L's" and come out the side, then the gas tube fits in that hole. If you filled the hole from the side I'd worry the gas could blow it back out. But, if you used JB Weld on the inside hole, then smoothed it out with say some emery cloth wrapped around a dowel in a drill, that would work. Let that JB cure for a couple days before using the emery.

    3. Done this way, I really have very few objections to the rifle. Sure, the round is underpowered, but at least it is so accurate you hit something. And you can't argue with the price any more. I was mentioning this five years ago, I just didn't have the above solution.

  6. From what I’ve gathered the majority of the weapons used even by the industrialized north, in the war of northern aggression were the muzzleloaders, despite the fact that we already had the central firing cartridge designs at the time.

Can you imagine this? “Hey boy, take this here outdated, slow loading single shot muzzleloader and go and kill that poor southern boy over yonder, who’s fighting and dying so that a handful of other rich southern boys that he doesn’t even know, can keep slaves” (accepted history revisionist version). “This way, you can also hand much more control over your life to the federal govt” 😕

So yeah, the govt viewing its cannon fodder as expendable on a tight budget seems to be the historical norm.

    1. Well, as few things as I can say good about the North, they did seem to be correct, at the time, about being unable to go from huge numbers of men with limited fire to the same numbers needing more ammo. It was accepted at the time that cannon was critical and that had quite the powder appetite. It was like the British rejecting the breech loader during the Revolution-a far better rate of fire but dropped for both the primitive industrialism of the time, naval priority and that old cannon requirement. Powder didn't become plentiful enough to waste until the first world war. By then you didn't have to choose between food or power. Immigrants were more plentiful than arms and powder. The FedGov wasn't tight fisted then, as the companies were raking it in hand over fist-it was more about ability. After powder was available, we wasted no time wasting as much as possible, but we still had a blatant disregard for the soldiers lives.
