ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY 3
Who DOESN’T have a vested interest in
blowing sunshine up your ass about getting rich? Well, rich being relative. Gaining wealth, or advancing from your
station, anyway. The Puritan Work Ethic
still, mostly, holds sway here. And
there is nothing wrong with a strong work ethic. All cultures should encourage this, for
maximum productivity. I think the
Protestants went TOO far, to the point where God himself took a personal interest
in your balance sheet and a bad credit rating was grounds for spending all
eternity in the fiery bowels of Hell.
They were not allowed to relax.
*
This has had a profound impact on our
culture ( even as every swinging cheese dingus out there tries to outdo
everyone else dismantling what is left of that culture ). It has vilified the poor, justified their
mistreatment and elevated Mammon above even Baby Jesus. Before, both the clergy and the elite were
unified in pushing the propaganda, as throughout history, but lately as religion
becomes another decentralizing contention point, advertising and the imperial
propaganda corps of media have teamed up with Our Betters to ensure that the
poor are kept in their place.
*
What is the point in being rich if
everyone else is? None whatsoever. If everyone has hooker and blow money, you
have no strategic advantage displaying your peacock feathers. The rich NEED the poor. Otherwise, who mows the grass or even makes
the robot mowers? But our rich hate the poor. This goes back to the English colonial
masters being royalty. From the very
first, the slave plantation owners, the slave boat captains, the
proto-industrialists feeding off extra cheap immigrant labor, all have
maintained the illusion of a class-less system in this here new fangled
YOU-nited States Of America.
*
It was a lie then, when something
like 16% of the population could vote, and it is a lie now when everyone
including illegal aliens can vote. Why
does it matter who you vote for if only approved imperial mandarins will be
elected? They used to make governing
easy, by only allowing the wealthy to vote.
They obviously voted for their own interests, as does everybody ( those
who complain that the poor vote for welfare obviously ignore both the AARP and
the corporate welfare schemes. That is
how brainwashed we are, with this irrational standard ).
*
Now they make governing easy by lying
that your vote counts. And, they make it
the fault of the poor by convincing everyone that everything bad the rich do is
good but when the poor do the exact thing they are bad. The poor lose their jobs to outsourcing and
we actually cheer free markets and capitalism and if we get upset we are no
longer employed it is because we are lazy and we envy the rich. But the rich, envious of those richer than
them, are hard workers and entrepreneurs, not envious for some reason. Nor are they lazy.
*
Not even when they don’t work hard at
all and take the easy way out of any dilemma by simply laying off more people.
That is always the Go-To answer. Lay off
more, and if they don’t find another job selling garage sale items on E-Bay,
they are just lazy whores. Of course,
now the Chinese with much, much lower costs of living, not having to pay for
all the monopoly pricing from the rich as we do because Evil Communism, can undercut the auction
prices. If the Uber Rich controlling the
Internet don’t beat them to it by manipulating search engines or the like.
*
But it is STILL the poor’s fault, isn’t
it? Somehow they lack the drive and
moxie to rise about and persevere. It is
NEVER about economic forces and always about the individual’s moral
shortcomings. Now, I understand that if
you have guzzled the Kool-Aid of the elite all your life, you cannot fathom any
actions from the rich as being evil. Not
that you are a fool. Nobody is stupid
for being propagandized. We ALL are, and
most of us go to our grave happily embracing illusions meant to enslave
us. But nonetheless, deluded you certainly
are.
*
The whip never works as good as the
carrot. And the illusion you can share
in the wealth is the best carrot stick out there ( almost as good as the
Puritan Stick up your ass ). Certainly,
you can go from earning a paltry amount to a not so paltry amount. And you can either squirrel away that extra
for early retirement to get off the gerbil wheel, or you can piss it away on
status symbols. Your choice. Hell, even the ill conceived mandatory
medical insurance now has an escape clause.
You have options. Slavery is not
mandatory.
*
There is still the metaphorical frontier
land to escape to. And you don’t even
have to kill any Indians ( perhaps some Revenuers, but then that would be Bad
Think talk, so never mind ). And a lot
of people are happy to escape.
Recognizing evil done by rich people, to get richer, at the expense of
the poor, has absolutely nothing to do with envy. Envy is if you want that money, not if you
are pissed off about the screw job. Lots
of people don’t want any more money than is absolutely necessary to get on with
life.
*
Why would you even BE envious of rich
people? Their whole life is the pursuit
of Mammon, and the selling of their soul.
What do poor people have the rich don’t?
They have TIME. Not as much as
they would like, because they have to pay triple the mortgage after that oh so
wonderful Warren Buffet jacked up their mobile home prices, but they are still
better off than the Mammon Brigade. They
have time, they have real friends ( not ones trying to use or abuse them for
their money ) and they have love.
*
Not to get all girly, but those intangible
rewards are restricted by money. Having
wealth isn’t free. There are a huge
amount of sacrifices to be made. And far
fewer people than is assumed want that kind of bullspit in their lives. The only truly greedy humper I’ve ever
encountered in my life was the Baby Mamma, and she was more worried about
stealing money than earning it. Oh, wait.
That kind of sounds like a rich person.
Who is that idiot that looks like Dr. Phil that sells those Get Out Of
Debt courses? He doesn’t sell those
cheap.
*
Now contrast him to the bloggers that
post information for free on how to do the same thing. Is the blogger envious? I have a hard time believing that. Nor is he lazy. He is writing for free. If not for free, for voluntary pay. And paltry pay at that. Would he want to be that cheese dingus that
gets Chinese prison laborers to print his seminar courses really cheap so to
increase his profits? I doubt that
also. He realizes that money is FAR from
everything. Why be envious of the
disease of Money Grubbing? The blogger
gets to go to heaven with a clear conscience.
*
That’s right, a lot of poor people
think it is a GOOD thing to not be greedy.
Sure, that is also a propaganda tool used by the rich to sedate the
masses. But at least it isn’t as
stressful trying to compete with the rich in a rigged game. And at least they are content in life. They don’t need to be envious. They have those intangible rewards. The poor aren’t lazy, if they work ( and even
if they don’t sometimes ). And they are
usually NOT envious.
*
Without being able to articulate it,
a lot of people see the downsides of capitalism ( as practiced, and as mislabeled
) and don’t want to play. Think about
who benefits from any propaganda before you believe and spread it.

Spot on Jim. I have been unemployed all year through my own misfortune and disabling conditions. I have actually reaped health and sanity rewards after a long transition period into an idled citizen. Keeping utilities on, and food on the table is only concerns. There is HUGE numbers of folks of all stripes that are checked out from the economy and societal structures. (Most forced out of the collapsing system, rest just saying "eff it") see shadow stats web site for un fake economic numbers. I'll take a bunch of salt of the earth po folks with meddle for militia buddies over yuppie sissies with pricey toys and no moxie any time. Thanxs for all of the information distillation Jim.
ReplyDeleteHell, I'm far more productive now, idled, but the normies look at my income and say different. It is hard going against the lemming wave, away from the cliff. Glad it has worked out for you as well.
DeleteYes, normies are sure stuck on stupid. if you are not working 32 to 40 hours a week and employed non stop from 18 years old until death, they look down their nose at you. On job applications any long gaps in employment is considered as low as a bestiality hobby. If I don't work for a year or so and was not incarcerated in jail, so what? twisted and demented society hive minds. Going to have the last long assed laugh come game time.
DeleteLong ago, when I started earning about 50 cents more than minimal wage, I learned that all my friends that were content with minimal wage, or too lazy to try to earn more, were expensive. And needy. They always came around and drank my beer and smoked my guzz but I rarely seen them when they had any. So once I got the opportunity to elevate my station through effort I moved those boat anchors to the backest burner. Never seen em again.
ReplyDeleteOver the next 30+ years while trying to keep a marriage together and raise a child and earn honest money I had little time for things that weren't a benefit to those 3 obligations, so not much was done in the field of friend acquisition. Everybody I encountered were more or less acquaintances, and very few of them, and that's all.
Worked out well. I didn't need them and they didn't need me. The same is true still. I know a few people and consider them sort of like tribe members but we rarely associate. I just can't afford friends. But I can afford associates.
You know, even the poorest motherfucker in the forest is an asshole if he suffers from a tainted character, and if he some how manages to elevate his station in life guess what? He's still just a raunchy asshole, but more of it. Money, like alcohol, doesn't change anything, it just reveals what is underneath.
The culture we live in requires everyone to lie to one degree or another so it can be difficult to determine who the best assholes are. If they can access a few more dollars than those around them then their lying mask starts to slip. If they get even more money that culture mask goes right into the burn barrel. They think they don't have to lie any more and can be complete dikhedz all the time.
They always had money and always seemed reasonable but when the access to money changed so did their character.
Money doesn't make assholes and never did, it just reveals them, sometimes.
That green mountain dood has a funny way of writing and getting his points across.
The only reason Green Mt. Dude isn't a threat to my global media empire is because he has a real life and barely ever posts. Plus, he doesn't care what readers say and doesn't allow comments. Thank goodness, because when he does write, it usually blows me out of the water.
Delete"Money, like alcohol, doesn't change anything, it just reveals what is underneath."
DeleteThat's one of the best analogies about wealth and character that I've ever seen. Thanks, GS - that one is definitely a keeper!
Well you're welcome, and now that I've thought about that a little bit more, ALL inanimate objects are like that. They don't do anything, they just sit there until such time that a person uses them in one way or another and then suddenly that inanimate object becomes the scorn of the earth.
DeleteTake guns for example. They can do no harm, they are inanimate, remember. They just sit there. But when a maniac bent on destruction gets a hold of one, look out!
Same with drugs. Just sit there. But yet almost all of society blames drugs for anything and everything.
That is the propaganda mentioned before. It's not truth, it's a fantasy, a false reality, a matrix. People are no longer held accountable for their despicable behavior as that behavior has been transferred, magically, to things that cannot be punished. Inanimate objects.
How many times have you heard that a gun "caused" someone to go bazeek and shoot up a bar/church/school? How many times have you heard about drugs "addicting" people who then committed crimes to satisfy their addiction? These were flawed people, perhaps genetically, but definitely organically, and sociologically. They were a damaged gear in the machination of society and they are becoming more commonplace all the time. More people = more mistakes.
There was a time when the misfits of society were largely taken care of at the local level in one way or another but big mamma stepped in gradually over time and allowed the misfits their space. That space expanded more and more to where it is now right up in your grill all the time if you live in a society.
If you live in a society you must live with misfits that will harm you and since inanimate objects just get up off the table and hurt people no one is allowed to defend theirself from the misfits.
Next time you see an ad on TV or hear it on the radio or read it on the web, about addictions, or gun violence stop for a minute and listen/watch/read with renewed senses to what is really being communicated. It's all right there for all to see but you have to pay attention to what it looks like. Peace, onward.
Being an idled individual is actually a general asset to a community. My case scenario: I use my walks and bike rides for exercise as a defacto neighborhood watch keeping things in check. (Neighbors remark they like that "I am around") egregious offenses on streets or at county park is called in and/or taken care of. Elderly widows need help or errands run, "I am available" to help my neighbors. Should be a small stipend involved, since America's systems have destroyed family structures, decimated neighborhood cohesion, and nuetered civil government effectiveness. I feel like the dutch kid in shorts with a thumb in the hole of a leaking dike.
ReplyDeleteYou all elko yokels will have some form of damn, back stop, or dike, to save what is left of humbolt city street curb run off water for cattle boys. Expect 'water guards' to be hills with eyes shooters for any one who is autistic enough to think the river water is a free right. Ya, right. Just saying. think large, like Marge.
DeleteGood location, we are at the north end of the river, near enough. Time to watch Tom Horn again, for refresher on range wars.
Delete(Girl walking down the street carrying a garden hoe)
DeleteBeavis: Hey Butthead, what’s that?
Butthead: That’s a hoe.
Beavis: I know, but what’s that she’s carrying?
:D
Don't know why they popped into my head like that. TP for my bunghole!
DeleteThat's Bungholio , Butthead...
DeleteLot of ranchers north upstream of you tho
It was my understanding the ranches were no longer operating. I'll need to look into that. Still, no serious numbers to contend with control. They need to be cleared both for population and pollution control.
