Why are we returning to
tribalism, where loyalty is primary, and accepting incompetence as normal? After all, it really isn’t that hard to
reward competence if you want to. It
doesn’t have to just be about the money as you could foster a corporate ( or
civil servant ) culture that makes for a very rewarding work environment if you
wanted to. Most folks would kill for
such a job and would accept lower pay. I
know a lot is economic and a lot is cultural, but this isn’t that difficult of
a concept to embrace or implement. Why
doesn’t anyone do it? I think a small part of it is that the process is largely
subconscious-we revert to tribal behavior in troubling times.
*
Unless you are a pedophile
excusing Papist, thinking the Earth was created five thousand years ago, you
understand that man was a hunter gatherer for hundreds of thousands ( or at
least scores of thousands ) of years and tribal. Our biological programming is tribal. Culture is fluid, as that is the software to
our hardware, but you cannot use culture that defies the biological. Tribal is what protects us through bad
times. Not individually but as a
species. We revert to that even when we
have been forced to live outside its dictates by rule of force for the gain of
a few.
*
If you can’t see that the
last fifty years has been far more than troubling, you have perception and
logic problems. Why are you a survivalist? You don’t need to be one to play with guns
and gold, you know. When an organism is
in danger, it’s core programming has the best chance of saving it. At least on a species level. Most ants are swept away in a storm but
enough survive that the colony continues.
Most humans will perish but enough who cling to conditioning will
survive to repopulate. The human species
has been in overpopulation resource stress for some time. It shouldn’t be a surprise we revert to
tribalism.
*
Now, obviously, I’m not
talking about hunter/gatherer tribalism.
The Negro race does follow this model, to some extent. You cannot breed tribalism out of them. I admire their perseverance, myself. Which is one of the reasons I question the
whole “Out Of Africa” thesis. It doesn’t
seem that the races are necessarily the same species. Different apes/monkeys have completely
different programming. Why is it so
shocking to think the races might have the same? I don’t really wish to digress, other than to
point out that Blacks have a completely different default survival
mechanism. I could be completely wrong
and it is cultural rather than biological, I grant you ( without more study-but
that seems a rabbit hole since race is a taboo subject ).
*
But most of us swallowed
the Kool-Aid of empire rather than tribe, and we are still looking through that
paradigm. We still think the colonial
empire is practicable and that the nation state is still not only viable but
successful. We have not reverted to
ancient tribalism of warrior/hunter, but rather have tried to shoehorn
tribalism into our mercantile God King centralized irrigation agriculture
society. So you have soldiers ( NOT
warriors ) that are tribal insofar as blind loyalty, but it is to a much larger
group than the tribe. It is centralized
tribalism, a oxymoron I’m sure.
*
I might add that nobody is
consciously aware that they are orally gratifying the god of their tribe. Again, this is reverting to programming ( to
what degree, I’m not prepared to guess.
But given the evidence it seems systemic ). It is a blind panic retreat in a Fight Or
Flight situation. Just as our reptilian
brain can detect danger signals we long ago learned to suppress as our brains
evolved to groupthink consensus, and informs you via “intuition”, “hairs
standing up on the back of my neck”, that you are in danger, we instinctively
move to tribalism in the face of danger.
The tribe itself would of course react to survive, but on an individual
level we assist in this. It looks as if
it is economic, such as “loyalty to paycheck”, but it is far more than that
simplistic explanation.
*
By subverting our
individualistic desires to that of the tribe, we defend ourselves far
better. Duh. It only seems economic since we channel
resource security through finances today.
When you think you see police corruption or brutality, it is only so on
the face of things. Deeper down, it is
my contention, is the wholesale cultural reversion to tribalism. The money or power corruption is
secondary. It is more about group
loyalty. Even the leftist retard Social
Justice Warriors are practicing the same dynamic. They are only failing because they embrace
anti-biology, not because they are not fiercely tribal.
*
Any industry or group is
practicing the same dynamic. Fiercely
loyal only to their group. You think the
higher education professor or administrator should teach, but that is not what
is important. Their tribes survival
is. At this point, survival requires
fraud. But remember, the We is supreme
and the They are not on par with We.
They are just another tribe, unworthy of consideration. If you are a civilian, you are a They to the
We of LEO’s. The corporate types are not
screwing their customers, they are stealing resources by force from another
tribe. That is acceptable for the tribes
survival. That is biology, programming.
*
I carry on about how we
used to be an American tribe, and that tribe was primarily based on one race
and one religion. It was long term
unworkable, and it stopped working as resources gave out, but it was doomed
from the start just be size and mass. It
was centralization with a tribal façade.
Today, we are no longer nationally tribal. I don’t care how much anti-racism preaching
you hear, if your tribe was partially founded on race, you cannot help but
judge on that aspect. Yet, man thrives
on tribalism. So once we could no longer
all be White and middle class ( the middle class was a recent invention, but I
think that it was embraced by the elite as a final means of eradicating state
loyalty and having the masses support
empire ), we turned to occupational and recreational tribalism ( a
fanatic sports fan is just confused about tribalism even as he erroneously
embraces the wrong kind ).
*
Now that we see how in
times of danger we over eagerly embrace tribalism, how does this revert to our
discussion of the collapse? How might
tribalism exclude you from joining a group after the die-off? I hate to drag this out to a
four-parter. Most minions seem to tune
out after a max of three ( easily amused, quickly bored ). But this is an important topic and I can’t
seem to stop diverting on tangents.
Continued tomorrow.

Keep at it Jim, peeling the layers away will reveal sage advise for the minions. If post collapse / post apocalypse stability can be established then the conditions may be suitable for a re ordering and re training of the group-tribe. A purge of detritus and leaches of humanity first. An elimination of exterior and distracting influences secondary. (Outside territory newspeak, tv, net, entertainment programming, etc) The key will be a leadership role must be filled by the 'ONE'. It will require someone to step up and even at a personal risk take charge and lead with all of those characteristics outlined in manuals. A book can't be pulled out of storage and all the sudden a new society is born from just reading it. Even a lowly Minion, low to the ground, dwelling austerely in a desert hovel, has such a potential.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...this gives me an idea for an article. Living the proper tribal lifestyle now, even without the tribe. Just live like it was pre-Oil Age and others will follow when needed. And even if they don't, you are happy and satisfied.
DeleteI don't know how many would follow an Amish dude post oil, but it wouldn't a bad exercise to preach the philosophy of reducing the use of oil in day to day life
ReplyDeleteJust finished a series on how the bankers will need more and more oil to survive, taking it away from the proles. I've done almost no energy off grid. Perhaps it would be a good time to cover on grid uber-efficiency.
DeleteYep, 9:27 anon, all the pretty unicorn pooping a rainbow nonsense spewed out of the bleached teeth mouths of Idahoan god-like survivalist consumer shills is cow poop in the fields. The only thing that will really make or break things is leadership, strong and true. People need and will eagerly with loyalty follow to the death proper leadership. That is what will make or break it all.
ReplyDeleteCan we even conceive of proper leadership anymore? So many generations of "official" certification and posers. Which is just another version of "tell, don't do". Hell, I'd move out of state and buy new property if it came along with a real leader. Not gonna happen of course.
DeleteThat's a great point about leadership. Too few can recognize good leadership. They think the most energetic, charismatic amongst them should be the 'leader'. Big mistake. That's how you end up with a David Koresh 'leading' you.
DeleteHistory tells us that it should always be the elders. They have the irreplaceable: Experience. Nothing can replace experience. They would know best who to delegate authority to in the tribe for whatever need arises, whether that's leading an armed conflict or overseeing an adequate supply of food or scouting a new spot to migrate to.
Yes, old bastards have their uses. And don't eat too much :)
DeleteI thought that this was worth posting. I didn’t realize that rifling a barrel at home was even remotely practical, and always assumed that it would require very expensive machinery or tools. If there is a caveat, it’s that it looks like it would be very challenging to rifle a longer barrel, such as a rifle barrel. So practically speaking, these tutorials would probably be more applicable to making pistol barrels.
ReplyDeleteHome Shop Rifling!

Making a Rifled Barrel without Machine Tools (TIS081) (Better video, and shows you how to make your own rifling button, but it sounds like he’s in an echo chamber, which is a little annoying).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D43ZeYu9dnM
Sounds interesting even if never needed.
DeleteThis is good monkey-tech! Bullets fly much better with spin than from a smooth barrel zip-gun. Rifling a long barrel is the same, but drilling a straight hole in a long barrel is another thing completely!
DeleteBut they can't trace the bullets from the zip gun back to the shooter! Oh wait, the zip gun is illegal anyway...
DeleteAre they illegal? Not sure about that.
DeleteActually, I’m pretty sure that home built guns are legal in all 50 states. I don’t know what particular law addresses this issue though, but there is one. But even here in the PRK, home built guns are legal. Though due to the passing of a recent law, you now have to request a serial # from the dept of justice.
DeleteI suppose a good rule of thumb is that if it’s a close up job, don’t bother with the rifling, since it’s a lot of work, and is even less traceable that way. But if it’s a riskier proposition, requiring a little distance for safety, then you obviously have no choice. In the latter scenario, I wouldn’t try to make my own rifling button, but would rather wish to rely on the accuracy of a professionally produced unit.
The think the meme "homemade guns are illegal" used to be pretty widespread and followed. Perhaps that was the vicarious thrill reading about Zips when younger.
DeleteNot sure but I think a Zip gun would be illegal because it has no rifling. Would it be a sawed off shotgun(short barreled shotgun) i.e. a NFA weapon like a machine gun?
DeleteHmmm...good point.
Delete“Not sure but I think a Zip gun would be illegal because it has no rifling.”
DeleteNo, as long as the barrel is 18” long, it’s legal. And this would only apply to a weapon that was chambered for a shotshell. At some point however, there is a further exemption. For example, that Bond Arms derringer that allows you to switch out multiple barrels, is not legal here in the PRK with the .45LC/.410 barrel (There’s a special Kalifornia version that does not except this barrel) because it is indeed considered to be a sawed off shotgun if firing the .410. However, it’s legal everywhere else. Same with the adapter that’s sold for the 26mm flare guns that allows you to fire the 45LC/.410. Legal in most states, excluding the PRK.
I really like that Bond Arms derringer, but I’ll be damned if I would pay $500 for a frigging derringer, that doesn’t even allow me (in my state) to have the 45LC/.410, which is the one barrel that I would really want to have.
"Out of Africa" That's an out dated theory. Check out the "Out of Australia" hypothesis. It's got legs IMHO.
ReplyDeleteAlso there's evidence that those that inhabited the dark continent headed north during a warm period and wiped out the Neanderthal that lived in the north (Europe). Zerg rush if you will. Or for modern equivalent Red Army V Germans. Yeah your troops are better trained, got better gear, have better tactics but I've got more troops than you have bullets and I DGAF about the welfare of my troops. Heck, 80% attrition rate just means I've got 19% to many troops.
But back to the Neanderthal. Smarter, better equipment but vastly outnumbered by an aggressive interloper. History might not repeat but what's Neanderthal for "Dang, Grok me in the buttox but I swear I've seen this before"
Last thing before I go. I read a memoir of a NVA soldier. He said everyone in his unit thought that African-Americans were a myth to scare them. HE said the first time they encountered one the guy was dead and they felt really bad that he'd been so badly burned until they cottoned on.
I ramble but then you get what you pay for.
Are you sure you're not biased towards the Out Of Oz theory? :)
