my deflated ass 2

MY DEFLATED ASS 2
The US has a very long history screwing with Latin America. The colonies had the balls to actually be living in OUR hemisphere ( as did Canada, so it was okay to invade them a few times ), so they were our bitches ( like choir boys to the latest Pope-no offense to Papists, but your current leader is Not Right in so many ways I wouldn't be surprised if he is a diddler ). We also felt we inherited the responsibility from Spain administering them. So it amuses me to hear the ignorance involving Venezuela.
*
The US has had a vested interest over the centuries in lying about Latin America, to excuse their intervention. The official word, parroted by most Americans, is that Cuba was an evil communist country, Che was communist ( not anti-imperialist ), Columbia's entire economy is cocaine, Mexico is a failed state and that Venezuela has a gazabillion barrels of oil but screws up extraction because they are also communist. You would think people would rub two brain cells together to get a spark, realizing that former communist Russia is doing better than us right now.
*
That perhaps, just MAYBE, the communist propaganda-while mostly true, because that is the best kind of brainwashing-had the primary purpose of masking America's fascism. You know my stand on that. National Socialism ( without the Jew hating-a blind ally of needless effort ) is FAR preferable to communism. Always. But it needs to be directed outwards towards a foreign enemy, not inwards where it has been. Anyway, I don't care if the government lies about foreigners. I just need to know it isn't for the purpose of screwing Americans. And the last thirty years, that is exactly what has been happening.
*
It is a subtle distinction. Yes, there was some collateral damage of Americans in the fight against Russia. As long as the excesses were reigned in, that was the price you payed for imperial colonialism. We all benefited economically, and there is no free lunch. The difference now is it has become an internal fractional conflict. But enough of all that. I merely need you to understand I am absolutely no fan of communism. I do however intensely dislike government lies ( any lies, but those are some of the worst ). And I understand that sometimes communism is accepted as a better alternative.
*
Chinese communism was a preferable alternative to warlordism, and the revolution succeeded by widespread peasant support ( Russian communism, on the other hand, was just the wrong side in the civil war winning ). Cuban communism was better than an American stooge selling out the country to gangsters and resource exploiters ( whether it was worth it in the long run... ). Why do you think so many African nations embraced Soviet aid in exchange for supporting communism? They had enough exploitation by the French and British ( or far worse, the Belgians. It isn't an accident their only Africa colony is still so screwed up ), and had no need for American ones.
*
What does the US call any country in the middle east which won't agree to be occupied and exploited? Terrorists. What does it call anyone else that won't buckle under? Communist. It is a near century old smear ( you'll note that we simply adored communism under the unholy reign of FDR ) that disguises what is really going on. In the case of Venezuela, they were part of OPEC ( only the Saudi's are excused for that, as they towed our line ) and even far worse, they stopped taking the PetroDollar!!!
*
The horror. The horror. If a country won't take our worthless currency then how are we to spend far beyond our means, to the profit of our banker bros? Iraq was a day early and rejected the petrodollar, while we still had the economic and military means of crushing them. Venezuela played the game much smarter and cashed out of the dollar when the US could do absolutely nothing except throw a tantrum and call it names. Well, okay, we did conduct a few cyber attacks we had perfected over in Iran, and we cut off most of their refinery capacity, but by and large our attacks were weak and feeble.
*
That REALLY pissed us off! How dare some little podunk country defy the worlds bestest nation! We are indispensable. Except when it comes to competing with communist China, it seems. But I won't digress. Venezuela was the target of American wraith. We did do some damage. But now we need to turn to oil. Yes, your favorite subject. Venezuela had been pumping oil for near a century. They were tapped out of true oil, conventional high net energy petroleum. Any proclamations of Ginormous Reserves are on par with those “FIVE Saudi Arabia's under the Utah/Colorado mountains”. Total fantasy horse crap.
*
Venezuela does NOT have a communism problem. It has a Peak Oil problem. Sweet Baby Jesus In A Prius! You simply humps would rather be screwed over by our free market globalist corporations than ever admit capitalism is anything other than perfect, blaming everything on a boogeyman like communism, unwilling to ever think the Gott Damn planet is finite and cannot support infinite growth. I can hear you now. “But, Jim, I KNOW resources are finite, silly. Just not in MY lifetime”.
*
A survivalist unable to see resource scarcity is like a cult leader who is really an atheist. You are in the wrong line of work. And I hope you are happy here. You FORCED me to take this detour. All this time wasted trying to clear the BS away from you ignoring Peak Oil. Again. If your oil is worth less above ground than below, it has little value in funding real growth which absorbs inflation. Why was gold inflationary for the Spanish and not for the British? Because the British had a coal backed gold supply. The Spanish did not. You need energy behind money. If the Spanish had exported food with that gold, it would not have been as inflationary.
*
Tomorrow, back to the economics of low price oil and silver.

note: is it just me, or does it seem funny all retail business was curbed/shut down right about when the bank runs started?  The Beer Virus seems to be the perfect excuse to shut down bank lobbies so cash withdrawals are limited to the ATM's.  Well, so long all small businesses, and employment, but at least the banks survived a few extra weeks!

note: a mail from a minion, with permission to post:
Thanks for the blog.  I found you many years ago, probably after Y2K.  Not sure but I got busy around 2010.  First wife died and I moved to NW FL. Got remarried and the NOL only understood hurricane preparing.
Because I was reading you, I took it (hurricane preparedness) to another level.  Then I stumbled on the concept of "retirement storing".  This I could "sell" to the wife.  She could see the concept that in retirement if bad inflation came you could have to decide between meds and food.  We are both old enough to remember the inflation of the 70s.
As this collapse started I would tell her, we should take extra money and do
X,Y,or Z.  Of course the question would be Why?.  I would give my reason and a few days later it would be apparent that I was correct.  She finally told her sister "Just do what he says, he's been right so far about everything."  It would be funny except its not.  We have made our choice about where we live..its not the best but we are not moving.  We do have emergency plans for evacuation, but that means we have to time the exact moment the clock hits 11:59.  As my son said the other day its about 11:56 right now.
Midnight will be here soon, I think before the next presidential election but you know how it is when we start prophesying.

Thanks for all your rants,

A grateful minion

  1. Right Jim. I think some numbers crunching can commence once we elapse some frame of time durations. How much oil i.e. fuels in various forms. Gas, diesel, aircraft, rail, sea shipping, industrial raw usage, etc is now NOT being used? Maybe the Lizard Aliens overlords are calculating how much economy systems are to remain open, just to keep the lights on and basic feeding and sustenance items productions in play, and how much is to be permanently shuttered. (2/3 rds of which is idled now) Perhaps a hermitaged society is brought about in response to the man instigated aerosol death winds, as a cover story for resource collapses effecting semi controlled die offs, along with concurrent occurring off radar malcontent useless eater pest exterminations.

If I was in charge, yep, like a bldg #7: "pull it!".

    Stay frosty anyway.

    1. As even "stupidity" isn't a very good explanation anymore, alien overlord pruning sounds more plausible

  2. anedotal news blurb. France was experiencing 8% absences in grocery supply chain businesses, causing problems. They are proposing 1k euro bonus to incentivise attendance. These are yellow vester type folks with thicker skin than 'Mericans.

Once the snowflake folks look around and see or hear of co workers and compadres in FUSA business and society start dropping out from spitting up lung chunks, the exodus begins.

It will be like the general in the missle silo, acting like there is no ringing phone that is supposed to be answered.

    Stay frosty.

    2. Ya know, I've been thinking about good ol' Captain Trips since the moment I tried to find the common thread between China, Iran and Italy... Despite the additional layers of tin foil to my cap every other day or so, I keep getting hung up on conspiracy. This seems to have progressed just too damn fast to be simply a natural phenomenon met with incompetence. Perhaps the PTB were counting on the sheer incompetence? Was worldwide nincompoopery part of the plan? You'll have to excuse me, life at the Raisin Ranch has surpassed surreal after only a week. Not to mention the whole state on shelter in place orders...Time to go add another couple layers of tinfoil to the cap - If i keep thinking this way, surely THEY will come to round me up. For my own protection, of course!

    3. I'm told 7 is the magic number ( wasn't that the Jim Carey movie? Or was it 23? I REALLY need to watch that one day before streaming ends ), so seven layers of tinfoil will protect you from anal probes. Oh, and Men In Black. But mostly, anal probes

  3. If you can disregard the hate whitey sjw spewings, the dark green mountain Canadian had some good pics of outdoor kitchens in El Salvador. Kind of geared toward tropics/subtropics (talking to you Spud, check it out), but built in primitive conditions by fairly broke people and adaptable to different areas.

    1. He is indeed a SJW Dick, but he's a valuable and needed resource kind of dick, so we love him anyway. Even the evil FDR did a little good, such as bringing the House Of Saud into our orbit. And donations to him to to more research, unlike myself who wastes it on selfish things like food. https://darkgreenmountainsurvivalresearchcentre.wordpress.com/

    2. Agree 100%. His "essay" on being an adapter vs. a prepper was one of the best things Ive read in the blogosphere on the subject ever, and actually ran a close parallel to your own advice Lord Bison. But yeah, I get the impression that after spending an hour in the same room with him, I'd want to punch him in the dick. Somehow, when you call us all idiots, it seems less condescending 😁Nonetheless, I greatly appreciate his work. Though when push comes to shove, I'd rather be a Bison Pedal Pusher, than enlist in C5's ranks.

    3. The "pedal pusher" thing is starting to grow on me. And no, you don't want to join PC Army, a Rainbow Army Of One. You know it's love that makes me insult you all, right? LOL

    1. The only thing I can think of is to send me a letter snail mail with your VERY CAREFULLY printed e-mail address.

    2. You might want to try running a malware checker on your computer. Spammers can sometimes hijack your PC to send out their spam from your email address without you knowing it. That way, when it is refused because the address doesn't exist or is blocked by a recipient's computer as spam it doesn't come back to them and clog up their Inbox. This is sometimes called email backscatter.
Ecelerity is software that detects spam and blocks the sending email address for a period of time. If that's what's happening, and the malware checker finds some spammer's software on your machine and removes it, you'll probably just have to wait a while until your address is unblocked, or do as Jim suggested and send him snail mail with your email address.
BTW, that's why one should always use Bcc: when sending an email to a large group of people - if one of those people has a spammer's program hiding on their computer, you've just supplied it with a whole bunch of valid email addresses to use.

  7. This is the biggest crock of shit I've ever seen. Only Movie Stars, Politicians, and Professional Athletes are produced to the Morons to show how "Dangerous" it is. Can you spell CIA. Interesting to see the supposed wise websites selling the same B.S. (can someone say Raconteur Report). I always suspected him of being CIA, now I'm 100% convinced. So lets destroy the US economy over a virus.Hong Kong flu in 1968 was way worse, four million died worldwide. Nothing got shut down.
Right now as I write this the US economy has lost 815.4 billion dollars and counting. Whats the breakpoint or are we already there? CIA Delenda Est!

    1. I don't disagree, but what is the end game here? Eliminating the consumerism to save resources? Okay, makes sense. A cash-out for the connected as the economy was already imploding and nothing could be done? Okay. They are keeping us afraid so we don't look over at the groceries not being replenished. Anything more conspiratorial than that is just wishful thinking there is a "save" button.
