looking for a lunatic

LOOKING FOR A LUNATIC
You may be right. I may be crazy ( but it might just be the lunatic you're looking for-Billy Joel, ladies and gentlemen. He'll be here all week ). I'm here to panic so you don't have to. And what did another pop culture icon advise us on? That's right, they hump you in the drive-thru. Now that everyone is closing retail, now that they have the excuse after years of failures from lack of customers ( whose money went directly to the bankers via rent and medical insurance inflation ), your only option before supply interruption is going through the drive-thru.
*
Where they hump you. This isn't a two week hiatus, people. This is the actual humping. It is almost indecent, the haste that all these businesses grabbed unto the excuse to curtail services. If it isn't Beer Virus, it is the lack of personnel loading up the semi trucks to get product to the retail points. If it isn't lack of supply it's the inability to make loan payments. Let us revisit our Dear Leader Shrub. “This suckers going down”. You want to believe that a recovery is a mere weeks of money printing away, like in 2008. But the only thing that failed then was a few derivatives contracts. It was digital. Analog is failing this time folks.
*
Actual crap you need to run an economy. Like food. Like chemicals to the water supply to disinfect. Like your favorite fracking fuel. Look, the bankers staged a coup a century ago, with Devil Incarnate Woodrow Wilson, the third worst President ( after Centralist Lincoln and Communist FDR. Not as good as Imperialist Teddy, or Kenyan Obammy ) ever. Ever since that time, more and more of the economy has come under their control. For 35 years the economy shed manufacturing and embraced financialization ( merely making money with money, nothing produced ).
*
This is THE end of that. You can all hold dear to the hope that this is just another screw job by the Federal Reserve. You can grovel at the bankers feet begging for another decade of living as a debt serf, if they only, Please Sir!, won't take your genetically modified corn bread and your diversity is our strength sports ball circus away. I may be crazy, but I also might be right. How do you go bankrupt, Mr. Hemingway? Slowly, then all at once. How does a civilization collapse? Slowly, then all at once.
*
You must understand that the President does not work for you. Okay, sure, fine, Trump doesn't need anyone else's money. Now. But he sure did in the 1990's, to avoid bankruptcy, and he was bailed out by the Red Shield. He owes them, they own him, and like every other President, there is dirt on him as a control mechanism. Even if you don't believe me, look at what he does, not at what he says. He is the puppet for the monied interests. What is he doing right now? Doing whatever it takes to keep the economy going.
*
NOT keeping people alive. The only reason airlines full of Corona-Chan shock troops isn't needed is because of those 300k Chi-Com fifth columnists University students already seeded the whole country. Then, Don't Test Don't Tell gave it enough time to get everywhere else from the Smurf Enclaves ( it probably wasn't deliberate, although it could have been. My vote is on everyone's attention being focused on the imploding economy. Yes, Dear Minions, the economy has failing BEFORE Beer Virus. Remember, the pin that popped the bubble ).
*
If it had JUST been the economy, or JUST been a medical emergency, we would not be spinning apart right now. But it is the Derivatives, the Debt, the Leveraging, the Chinese Logistics, AND just as a sprinkle on the Shat Sundae, Beer Virus. All added together. This ain't your grandpappies banker engineered recession. This is a systems failure, where each node failing starts the next node on its merry way in the same direction. This ain't your Grid Down Lights Out instant emergency, this is the worst possible way of collapse. No supplies available, the government still in charge, no income. You will eat your seed corn waiting for the real total collapse.
*
The only good part is that this cannot last all that long. The military and police have to eat as well, and they are Just In Time Inventoried like everyone else. And if they move in to “help” move the food to market, don't bet on it. That is both a “do NOT panic, all is well” bullspit feels good statement AND a move by the gov to secure all those supplies for themselves. Let us remember that last years crop numbers were never resolved adequately. We could have gotten dingus all harvested and stored, for all we know. See what relying on official news does?
*
If the food supply was endangered PRIOR to Beer Virus ( and I'm NOT saying it was, just that it is a possibility ), the replacement supply chain could have been compromised before everyone got sick. The mass panic to stock up for two weeks of quarantine might have actually completely cleared the system of supply. The wholesalers never had mass purchases. If anything, restaurants were already losing business. Jobs were already being lost. It isn't JUST the virus. I know, it is hard to relax now. Hard to not soak in the minutia of panic and despair. But it WILL be either resolved very quickly, or fall apart even faster.
*
This is what systems failure looks like people. There is ZERO redundancy here. No redundant supply, or cash, or jobs, or unemployment funds. The system was set up for growth. NOT decline. This sucker is already going down. Don't be in denial, trying to bargain with it. Accept. Embrace. Enjoy.

  1. Grow potatoes. Grow several varieties of potatoes to see what works best in your climate. They are easy to grow and well worth the effort.

  2. Nits make lice. The overlords, by whatever term or label attached must implement their end game plans at this time, or else. Resources-simply put. This is a controlled and stealth corralling of populations. It has long already been in progress in various forms. Excessive laws and regulations, police state intimidation, digital surveilling, browbeating and digital outcasting of freedom accolytes, etc.

The ongoing deconstruction of the former western systems based on consumerism, and the many outward leisure activities that eat up resources has to be drastically curtailed or outright eliminated to save the remaining crumbs so the rickety operation can continue. Kinda in terms of u.n. agenda 21 wildlands plans to herd all of the excess eating and non value producing peoples and activities into a plantation fuedalism variant of new society. Put them onto physchological and defacto reservations just like the feathered indigs were so fairly treated by 'Merica, all necessary for their own good of course.

All of these folks now sitting on thread bare couches with cheetos orange fingers idled from the held hostage economy by .gov edicts are now proven to be unneccessary hired help. The yang bucks may be precurser to a system of soylent green feed cubes being periodically dropped into our urban or ghettoed enclave cages for pacification. At which point lower castes are only needed for bottom rung labor, organ harvesting, and of course sex slavery pleasuring duties to the elite castes.

How's that MAGA feeling up your bumm about now mr.& mrs. Deplorable?

Stay frosty and embrace your new future.

    1. Looking at it from their point of view, a brilliant 180 turn strategy. Ramp resources WAY down. But they won't get the food to everyone fast enough and their center cannot hold. I'm beginning to lean-just slightly you understand-a bit towards Ice Age Farmers view of crop shortages kicking this all off. And now, an asteroid hurling by/at today. Good times

  4. Honest to God....so much nervous Nancy handwringing.

What we are seeing is DISTRIBUTION disruptions not actual supply shortages. Do you think the oil is POOF! Gone?
Do you think the wheat, hand sanitizer and toilet paper got beamed aboard the Mothership hiding behind the Moon?

Can't scrounge that Afro-sheen it was already snapped up...will a jar of pink "Dippity-Do' suffice until supply disruptions are fixed? The idea that even a single strand of your hair might blow away troubles me.

    1. Look at the silver. All up the supply chain no one has anything. So, since it's still in the ground we shouldn't worry? Without distribution, the supply means dingus. Look at all the natural resources in the Congo. Can't be distributed because of war, Ebola, etc. For all practical purposes, it doesn't exist in any meaningful manner. Look at seawater. Tons and tons of gold in there. Why, if we could just extract that, we could go on a gold standard! Except, you can't ECONOMICALLY extract it. You cannot ECONOMICALLY build new factories outside China. Don't make me continue! Thank you for your concern. It's either Dippity-Do" or a much closer shave.

    4. It's definitely an industrial age metal.
Spanish used to throw it overboard so it wouldnt be confused for silver.

Absolutely essential as catalyst for producing synthetic nitrogen fertilizer from natural gas.
Also, it's role as catalyst makes it key in producing lots of other modern age wonders.

Anecdotal story of jewish family leaving Germany when they still could: on the family was throw-away wealth of jewelry and some currency to surrender on way out of Germany, vast bulk of wealth was in platinum cast in shape of tools in auto kit.

I'm casting my metals into deviant sex toy shapes for my escape. Won't get a second glance at the border. Just can't think of anywhere safe to go to.

  5. Dollar fifty gas but we can't have any because we filled up with the 3 dollar stuff 2 weeks ago and haven't went any where. That's the way my whole life has been. Dollar short and minute late.

If you can't herd everybody up into FEMA camps then just lock em up where they're at. Pure genius.

    "Supply Update:
Unfortunately Thomas Labs has completely closed due to COVID 19 (temporarily) and we will be unable to get any new shipments from Thomas Labs for an extended period of time. Unfortunately this means that the inventory we have in stock now is all we will be able to ship until we get a new shipment, we expect this to be a month or more."

  8. "Had they not done so, it probably would have blown over in about a month."

Actually, about four, given the best estimates of the rate at which this stuff spreads, but I still agree with the premise of your statement. 7,500 people die in this country each day. If we took Italy's death rate for infection and applied it to our population it would mean an additional 1,750 or so deaths per day for the four months or so it would take for this to burn itself out. The economy would still take a hit, but nowhere near as badly as the hit it's taking now with the social distancing.

How long would we have to maintain the current social distancing and home quarantine we're now doing? At least 18 months:

“A minimum policy for effective suppression is therefore population-wide social distancing combined with home isolation of cases and school and university closure. To avoid a rebound in transmission, these policies will need to be maintained until large stocks of vaccine are available to immunise the population–which could be 18 months or more.” (Source: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/medicine/sph/ide/gida-fellowships/Imperial-College-COVID19-NPI-modelling-16-03-2020.pdf)

What is going to be left of this economy if we keep this up for 18 months?

  9. Good post today Jim. Shared it on my Facebook page today...giving you credit of course and included your web address.

Wonder how much longer till anonOO , changes his tune ?

    A positive report (sort of)
The Zoo Board met, and decided to have all zoo employee's keep coming to work for the next two months. Even tho the zoo is closed to the public ! Now that's telling your workers they are appreciated. This is around 500 people ! It is a private zoo , no public funding either. Local Aerospace/Industry philanthropists love their zoo...
Of course if it gets crazy and everybody is confined at home. Then that deal is off I suppose...if that happens , who's going to feed the Lions, tigers and bears...oh my ?

  14. Billy Joel did a song, titled, "Pressure." Though not one of his more popular hits, it is nevertheless apropos for our times. Here is a sample of its lyrics:

"You've only had to run so far
    So good
But you will come to a place
Where the only thing you feel
Are loaded guns in your face
And you'll have to deal with
    Pressure"
