nice while it lasted 2

NICE WHILE IT LASTED 2
Hunger, true hunger such as Victorian England offered all the lower class scumbags who had refused to move over to America, thus freeing up the nobility from dealing with their social inferiors as they simply wanted to go about their day unmolested as they gazed in awe at their human-less machines ( the upper class everywhere want more machines and less Deplorables-I can’t believe the idiots who think robotics are about giving their poor ass leisure time ), can be a powerful motivator for excellent writing.  Dicken’s A Christmas Carol was about the true spirit of feeding the author during Christmas time.
*
The Great Depression was a breeding ground for some of the best writers to come ( L Ron Hubbard the exception, and perhaps the best proof that selling your soul to Beelzebub was actually possible ).  Poverty and hunger do light a fire under the best of us.  Of course, both societies took it too far, actually condoning real malnutrition as the penalty for failure.  Lack of funds, leading to lack of a wife which was a rather stiff Reproduction Tax, that should have been enough punishment.
*
At the moment there is a bit of yearning for those on Food Stamps to be cut off during the government shut down.  I’ll of course remind you that while in session the politicians are in Washington DC.  Which is a couple of nice streets around monuments surrounded by war torn ghettos full of said recipients.  Do you REALLY think the fedgov is going to allow that tinderbox to catch?  You cannot decide to starve out those you hate, and expect to live in a functioning society.  Britain lost its nobility and we turned socialist when that happened.
*
Hunger is a great motivation, but starvation is not a good motivator for positive change.  And that is the way I see the general direction of things moving, with the Internet Alternate Income Streams and the wave of censorship.  Follow me here.  Females, OtherColors and Diversity Hires all push older White Males out of the workforce.  A lot of these men with an ounce of motivation and talent went into Internet businesses.  Most hang on by bringing advertisers from TV to the Internet ( marginal content, but well supported by consumerism ).  But a lot of talent is also supported that way.
*
But then two opposing forces collided.  The mainstream companies desperately trying to remain profitable embrace PC so as to pull on the purse strings of the remaining job holders, which means they cannot support anything non-Politically Correct.  And there goes the ad model to support those Casper’s working on the Internet.  Suddenly, quality starts to matter again.  Everyone wants your Patreon support, but you can only spend X amount on entertainment each month, so only the better content wins. And that is how it should be, but only up to a certain percent.
*
So prevalent is the capitalism or nothing system which is actually globalism, most people applaud their own destruction.  No Free Riders, No Welfare, No Free Crap Army, Produce Or Starve, all are well and good under a truly free market system.  But NOT under a fixed manipulated mercantilism system where the cheaters get socialized loses and private gains.  And the masses starve willing to work.  Every time that someone starts to get back ahead in this fixed system, the rules are changed on them.  You’re not allowed to work until you are 22-26 now, as opposed to the old 16-18.
*
Then they stopped allowing you to work until retirement.  Since all the management jobs are now OtherColors and Diversity Hires, you can’t work your way up into management.  Which effectively ends your manual labor career about twenty years too early.  So, you are a hard worker and smart, you start an Internet business to finish out your working years.  But now THAT is being taken away.  Censorship is killing a lot of businesses that could have endured.  They weren’t great, but they were Yeoman performers.  But we can’t have any but the highest performers now, can we?
*
By refusing to subsidize any jobs except all those held by women and  OtherColors, by refusing to allow marginal workers to stay employed, you are increasing social discord and fomenting rebellion.  It is all well and good for the elites to keep everyone in poverty.  But when you remove hope or advancement, and just keep increasing the suffering, you can guarantee blowback.  There wasn’t THAT many prepping writers or merchandise purveyors, or YouTube channels that it employed any fraction of displaced White workers.  The point was it was a beacon of hope for the entire number of disenfranchised.
*
We didn’t care that we had to give up suburbia.  We never wanted it in the first place.  Better to go live in a trailer park and socialize face to face.  There are plenty of poor working class out there and no shame in joining them.  But that was even too much to ask for.  Rich people who couldn’t possibly need more money all colluded to take away that safety net of niche micro-businesses.  It wasn’t that they were removing the only venue to publish.  It was that they were taking away the Low Cost way to do so.
*
When you are a micro-business, you can only do that by having close to zero expenses.  You could start a YouTube channel with a discarded cell phone ( from someone Status Symbol-ing up ), get a dedicated camera for $75 at Wal-Mart, and even improve the sound with a specialized microphone for not much more than that.  But you could start with zero additional cost.  If you were a writer, without a computer, at most a new machine could cost $130 for a ChromeBook.  That was writing, editing and publishing along with revenue collection.  Just broke White Boys needed that low cost start.
*
Now, anyone can still start for free.  And then, they see all that blood and sweat and tears de-monetized.  Anyone can start.  Anyone can succeed.  They have to jump through hoops now, but if you figure out how to get readers or viewers, you can still do it.  My question is, do most people still want to try it?  By crushing the dreams ( and even if we KNOW it is a fantasy, we still would pursue the dream ), by turning this into a rigged game, you get a lot fewer players.  Throwing in the towel happens quicker.
*
Remember those video stores out there at one time?  You had a LOT of movies being made for $100k to under a mil.  There were terrible movies, but if you wanted to watch a movie every single weekend, or especially all weekend long, you watched them gladly, accepting them for what they were.  Second tier was okay as long as it was entertaining.  Like today’s “Sharknado”.  Or those giant gators in a New York lake movies.  I know there are still a lot being made for the same price, cable movies or for streaming, but they aren’t as good as video movies.
*
Cable or streaming, you’ve already paid prior to watching.  Video companies would lose customers in the form of a store buying LOTS of tapes if they didn’t offer some level of quality, and they had to meet high expenses.  It was a form of editing for quality.  And when I say quality, I don’t mean acting or plot or special effects being all that great.  It just had to be entertaining.  Most of today’s movies don’t have that, regardless of budget.  Video stores allowed amateurs to enter, as long as they were talented.
*
Today, the Internet is going from a video store era to a Hollywood monopoly where only the golden few are allowed a voice.  Sure, the viewers are hurt, but more importantly for our discussion here, the talented but broke are not being allowed to participate in that economy.  In Hollywood, controlling the distribution keeps out the poor.  On the Internet, the threat is from distribution also.  The monopolists are denying distribution AND banking to the small and scrappy.  But worse, denying you that access AFTER you become successful, rather than just denying access to begin.
*
You might be thinking that ONLY reading the best and successful is better.  But it isn’t.  Everyone is trying to stay safe and inoffensive.  It is BORING!  You get a few weeks of stress and panic which increases content enjoyment, and then it goes back to safe and dull.  They almost lost their minds, panicking about the stock market, but realized they need to go back to safely plodding along.  Now it is back to boring in the Survivalist Sector.  I know, I know, you can’t always be “on”.  There are slow days.  But every day?  I miss the Xerox and mail ‘zine days.  Full on non-stop passion.
*
That did carry over to the Internet, and lasted a good long while.  And then the Puritan Police moved in and started raiding the Speakeasies.

  1. We streamed a movie last night, second time we've done that. On the big screen in the living room with an amazon fire device. We've done a series episodes a few time, Better Call Saul, Goliath, etc., but only 2 movies so far. We're on a Hughes satelite and bandwidth is very limited, 30gb a month. Anyway, the old lady was feeling froggy, one of the 3 books she indexed this week was titled Dynamic Dames so she wanted to see one. We're partial to movies from the 40's and last night is was "His Girl Friday" with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. Didn't like it. Ol lady did. I fell asleep, about 8 times. All that fast noir bantering back n forth wears me out. She also made a coupla 'za's and all them carbs drop me like an anchor. Had to fire up a screaming hot tankard of mud just to keep goin. Somebody should dig Cary Grant up and slap his face.

    1. I can't stand old timey movies. A weird alien culture. John Wayne usually makes me feel sorry for the old slow fat bastard. I want complete cynicism in my movies, not a happy ever after fable.

    2. Yeah, it was a different time for sure. People were easy to entertain, and would even laugh at clean comedy routines. Occasionally you would get an old time comedian pushing the boundaries, such as Edgar Bergen through Charlie McCarthy, getting kinda raunchy with Mae West (Old timey whore).

Speaking of Cary Grant. There’s a strong speculation that he and Randolph Scott were heading each other off at the pass of Butt Crack Canyon :D

    3. Imagine, dialogue and conversation void of profanity every sentence. Interactions that don't involved chopping the other person off at the knees. No debasing a male for being a male or short on melatonin for laugh points or righting a social injustice racket. Wow, Too much thought involved there.

    4. I loved Cosby. He was just as funny with no profanity. These new female comedians trying to be raunchy? Cringe worthy, I can't listen to them. Cynical verses fable, as in Clint Eastwood verses John Wayne. Real world awareness we are cattle compared to the old propaganda for the tribe. Absolutely nothing wrong with tribe propaganda as it serves good purposes. But I was born AFTER the American tribe was sacrificed at the alter of Mammon, so MY reality is anti-propaganda. Nothing to do with wanting realism such as hatefulness or promiscuity, everything to do with not believing the fairy tale of our suppressors.

    5. Heard the same thing about Perry Mason - Raymond Burr.
      Surrounded by fruitcakes....

    6. Yep, there’s another classic example. This was well established in a later Perry Mason episode titled: The Case Of The Missing Penis (Mysteriously found later that evening in his anus :D ) No, but in all seriousness, it was well known in hollywood that he was a raging poof.

It would be convenient for the rest of us if they all stood out in a way, such as the Richard Simmons/Liberace/Chrisley Knows Best (Yeah, I know; technically he’s “straight”) variety, but we can’t always have it so easy, now can we :D

  2. Yes, you are living in the trusts, monopoly, robber barons of the new economy. A new venture, product, activity that proves to be a wealth creator or fluid wealth transferor, generally becomes prey to an individual or group that arises to control or monopolize that entity for egotistic control or maximizing the profitability into the fewest number of hands or individuals. (Carnegie, Morgan, standard oil, etc) In the absence of an actual bad ass like Teddy Roosevelt, who had his own family money and was altruistic in goals of betterment of people and his society at large, there will be little curbs on that behavior. It is manifested worse in today's ripe conditions for greed and influence peddling of politicians and their toothless nonwatch dog regulators. Only some refreshing mayhem and unrest disruptions to cause soiled diapers to the 1% and black eyes, bloody noses for the 9% will change be made for an equilibrium and at least easily believed fair operating systems. Most common folks and upstarts don't begrudge wealth honestly earned, modicumly with decorum displayed. It is the obscene levels and getting boned for it without thank yous or a courtesy reach around that is the last straws.

    2. Yeah we are too deep in deep state control to get above level of a short spurt flash mob that disperses like a foul fart in the breeze. Any organizing not in line with the cabal's control or stinking like the two parties perfume will be smoked out like the

    4. @7:40: You need to read a bit more on Teddy. He was the first 'progressive,' and changed the system in three major ways, all bad. One was the direct election of U.S. senators. Not at all the man his PR presents.

      Delete
    5. Wasn't he pushing for overseas imperialism? I believe Mark Twain fought him on that issue.

      Delete
    6. I think the person that received the best PR campaign of all, posthumously, was none other than good Ol’ “Honest Abe”.

“Under Lincoln, white men fought and died to free the slaves”!

And if you believe that one, I have some prime real estate in east Oakland that I’d like to sell you :D Prior to his assassination, Lincoln was going to ship the freed blacks off to Belize faster than Jamal can pimp off yo fine white dotta :D (Thanks you bastard Booth!)

      Delete
    7. Hmmm. If he was serious about exportation AFTER the war, rather than it just being propaganda for the election ( Abe didn't seem to have much in the way of original thoughts past parroting whatever got me in power ), you almost wonder if the northern Puritan merchants didn't off him. They hated Blacks, and most northern states had anti-Black residency laws, but they probably were such cheap bastards ( giving Jews a bad name ) they didn't want to see "their" income stream from taxes dip slightly. Or, keeping poor Blacks meant there were no jobs for poor Whites, keeping the South impoverished. Unable to ever build up another army. But really I think resettlement was just an empty promise to get elected. Not that any Southern state did, but he had the northern numbers. Demographics always matter. Another two years and we can All Hail The Dark Overlord Hilary.

      Delete
    8. Could be Jim. You’re far better educated on the subject than I. I don’t find the relocation idea completely far fetched, as I know that there was concern that the freed blacks would not be capable of fending for themselves (Which as it turns out, was a valid concern). It would have been no different in British Honduras (Belize) but since it was still under British rule at the time, the blacks couldn’t screw that up (as with south Africa) and the tropics is a better place to have poor survival/agricultural skills than elsewhere.

But I can’t imagine what that sales pitch to the British would have sounded like? :D

    9. It was a valid plan and endorsed by many. Liberia was organized for such a venture. But you cannot find any discussion on the economics of it, whether it was feasible or not. Great care must be given in this time period as almost every source is radically pro-Abe or radically Anti-Abe. You almost have to read between the lines and guess. I wouldn't call it research as much as detective work, with much supposition. The simplest answer is probably the North figured the freed slaves were the Souths problem and didn't care what happened to either group. Enough would survive to feed the factories nearly free commodities.

And the situation must have already been rather dire, particularly in the west, for a dude to have to be desperate enough to hook up with the likes Belle Starr (Yeah, someone was actually tapping that  :D )

Now if that isn’t Burgess Meredith in drag, I’ll be damned :D

Agree on the PC corporate virtue signaling; that’s the only thing that makes sense. There must be a sense of having to pick sides, even at the risk of alienating many others, and the squeaky wheel gets the grease, as the old saying goes.

I think that the only hope that a young white man today has is to go into the trades (Females couldn’t care less about “equal representation” outside of a cushy office environment, so you’re still relatively safe there) or if you prefer a more professional line of work, choose a technical field, and become an independent contractor. An ideal field is one that allows you to telecommute. Then you don’t have to worry about walking on egg shells, and saying the wrong things, resulting in getting your ass #metoo’ed, and having your career destroyed.

I’ve long since stopped watching modern hollyweird filth, but it is my understanding that there are more than a few independent film makers out there giving these deviants some stiff competition. Good. I hope the hollywood propaganda machine is destroyed.

    1. No way in hell Belle wasn't a dude. I'd bet a jelly-filled donut on it. And I'd also bet that someone somewhere is agitating to be allowed into the trades even if not qualified. They can't all get into an office. If some dumb ass broads want into combat, there have got to be those wanting to get paid to pretend to fix plumbing.

    2. They do because they get front of the line grant money for free trade / technical school or apprenticeship affirmitive action hires by trade unions. It is just logical lawsuit interdiction and prevention practices. Just like rainbow coalition shakedowns of local government hirings and corporate donations to community causes a.k.a. community organizing. You are being replaced as well as marginalized. Politically, socially, economically, etc. bus rides, train rides, "exterminishing" comes afterwards. Plan accordingly.

I enjoy the work of John Sayer. Sam Shepard.

But, no, loudly, to Hollywood and New York city. I quit that bunch decades ago. Then Merrill Streep defends child raper (I wiped his name from my memory. Not 'Myer Lansky' but similar) during a drug-fest at the house of Jack Nicholson.

Two minutes of research indicates the child raper was banned from Europe counties after a string of identical crimes. No prison nor execution, banned.

I think that makes two crimes.

  6. That green mountain dood article is a mandatory read. Very good, and I'm looking for the next chapter. Funny, what he's writing about in that article is what I've been feeling for some time - a decade or more.

.1 Located far away from most people in a proven shelter
.2 Ample stores of basic foods and other day to day necessities.
    .3 Security items.
.4 Basic skills and tools and supplies.
.5 Small network of like minded people.

    In that order.
If you don't have .1, then the other numbers don't matter.
    Survival? I'm already doing that.
Prepping? Not really, just restocking supplies.
Adapting? Of course. Every day, and always.
    That's life.

    1. I think of the survivalist thing as a basic instinct, without sharon stone of course. It's so always on my mind I'm not aware of it most of the time - sort of on auto-pilot.

The problem with being around friendly people a lot is that you left your guard down and trust them, and that's when they stick it right in your ass. It goes back to that survival thing above. A wild assed animal has never harmed me because I mainly leave them alone, but it's almost impossible to live on this planet in the absence of people and that is where all the bad things done unto me have sprung from. People, bah, who needs em? lol
