don't get on the short bus 2-article 2 of 2 today

DON’T GET ON THE SHORT BUS 2
( article 2 of 2 today )
You have to be careful when wargamming for the apocalypse.  You need to be extremely paranoid but you also need to temper that with economic, geopolitical and logistical realities.  It is all well and good to fear, say, total gun control. But then you must ask if it is feasible, THEN you must figure out how they will try anyway when it is not, because empires imploding still try to screw the poodle even when it is the worst possible idea.  Let’s take a slight detour and discuss a favorite conspiracy theory-vaccinations.
*
AIDS has been dismissed as some bush bitch humping a monkey, or getting bite by a monkey, or whatever.  Then, it shows up in the US, NOT Africa, all at the same time in all the Rump Ranger Headquarters.  Please keep in mind that the religious right was in control politically at the time.  The Moral Majority.  Which, to be honest, I never had a problem with.  They weren’t threatening me with a burning stake just because I wouldn’t genuflect to their god ( although that could have come later ).  They were certainly a far better choice than the PC asswhores in charge today.
*
Were they kind of dicks?  Sure.  They had no problem killing you in jail if you used drugs, and at the time I was fond of the occasional illicit substance ( it was actually nice living in California then, if for no other reason than marijuana decriminalization ).  And since the Rapture was a good thing, I think there might have been a bit of far too casual attitude towards thermonuclear war.  But most of their attitudes was pretty culturally normal and not hard to go along with.  But here is my point-they probably approved of AIDS.
*
Did the elite at the time approve the design and application of AIDS, to smite the godless heathen homo’s, a test run as a bio weapon against the commies?  Was it man made rather than natural?  Of course, no one can prove anything, but I tend to lean towards believing, in theory, it was indeed a military weapon.  I’m not claiming I’m right and you are wrong.  I’m just saying if you must choose between a tree obscured book depository and the grassy knoll, usually the logical choice is where the Magic Bullet DIDN’T come from.
*
Will we ever know exactly what happened on 9/11?  Of course not.  Just don’t try to tell me a third tower crashed down because a few flaming debris from another building gently brushed up against it.  It is hard enough to believe your flaming kerosene story on the other buildings, so how is the other one actually coming down WITHOUT a jetliner full of fuel?  The “Magic Building Theory”.  Buildings magically pancake at a harsh glance.  I tried that with the airplane the ex-wife was flying-it didn’t work.  You don’t need definitive answers when the question is bullcrap.
*
So, if you think there might be something to the guess that the government hates the Deplorables ( thank you Hilary-if you did nothing else with your wasted sperm life, at least you went on record letting us know how our elite really view us.  Stupid dumb bitch, Daddy Bush admitted a push for One World Government and he didn’t get re-elected.  Why did you think you could escape opening your dingus hole like that? ), and readily tries to kill them, how far of a stretch is it from AIDS to Contaminated Vaccines?
*
Whenever that is brought up, you’ll go ahead and find an article on how some voodoo witch doctor bone through the nose cannibal African dude is spouting off about how they refuse Honkey Mo Fo medicine as they are sure it is contaminated.  This immediately spins the Corporate Rights To Profit Through Poison Protestors on par with non-educated Bush Bitches.  In other words, don’t you DARE question the health and safety from your Corporate Overlords.  If that smear doesn’t work, then there is the standard response “polio was cured by vaccine. If you even ask if there is mercury in vaccines, you want everyone to die of polio”.
*
These respondents usually are tied to the medical industry, and they get a bit testy if you look like you are going to take their iron rice bowl ( I thought I liked all McQueen movies, but that one, “The Sand Pebbles” was pretty boring and the rice bowl concept was the best part of the film ).  You can light your water afire living in a fracking zone, but those people are conspiracy nuts?  No corporation has ever been a polluter?  No tech company works with the NSA to spy on you?  Come on!
*
To assume that NOTHING is ever wrong with vaccines is just as ignorant as assuming ALL vaccines will kill you and the One World Rothschild’s are behind it.  This is what I’m talking about with moderating both your paranoia AND tempering your innocence and optimism with some cautionary thinking.  Apply this to gun control.  It isn’t JUST completely outlawing guns or a total rebellion by gun owners to protect their rights.  There is a HUGE gray field in between those two black and white probabilities.  Gun control CAN work.  Sure, it is a bit of a fanciful journey, like the evolutionary path of a platypus, but it isn’t impossible.
*
Remember, here we speak of rounding up the dissidents to transport them to the FEMA camps.  Before you dismiss this because of how well armed ‘Murican’s are, it doesn’t have to be an either/or proposition. It can be a “response by region” choice.  Some areas might be hosed, even with a majority gun owning public.  Some might be ignored by the feds and the gun minority THERE might be victorious.  And other permutations.  In the coming reproduction of the Spanish Civil War, or the Lithuanian Guerrilla War, as always it isn’t JUST about owning guns.
*
Remember, you were supposed to be living in the forest BEFORE the troops arrived to surround and artillery barrage the village.  Which areas are going to be safer, less of a target for limited forces the feds can field?  How will they start the continental US occupation, and why?  I’ll take a day or two break and then continue with this series of articles ( why?  Because you all get bored if I go beyond three installments, and this might do just that ).

note: the Netflix movie "Bird Box".  Actually, not bad at all.  I was rather surprised.  I think I owe Wilder a shout out on that one.  Don't go in expecting a great post-apocalypse film.  Think of it as more suspense or horror with weak apocalypse themes.  I mean, come on!  Five year old gasoline, never ending food and demons taking over.  Do pay attention to the human interaction elements as they are in the house as a group right after the event.  Deceit and asshattery galore ( and stupidity, of course ).  That could be applied as cautionary lessons.  Just a tiny touch of political correctness ( less than normal ).  Gay Is mm-Kay.  Super HandiMan, and of course the zebra couple.  But not beat you over the head with it.  Recommended

Someone here in the comments section once defined how this would most likely go down, and I tend to agree. But basically the poster suggested that it would be very unlikely that they would go door to door, rounding up all the guns, but they would likely start by banning the ammunition. Getting caught in the act of using a gun would then result in a very lengthy prison sentence, in a prison of the “pound you in the ass” variety (Office Space reference). There are those that insist that it could never happen, but they apparently have far more confidence in the system than I.

Today’s link related. That Butch Cassidy movie is a classic. Katherine Ross was one fine looking babe at one time. The real Etta Place (No one really knows who she was, as that was an alias) was also a fine looking lass, back in the days when Bossy the cow would have beat out most women in the local beauty pageant :D

  2. I’ve noticed this trend by the left to characterize the anti-vaccine crowd as a bunch of nutjobs, but apparently, they’re really on to something. I was neutral on this topic, until I decided to get my cats vaccinated. I kept seeing topics, such as feline injection site carcinoma popping up, among other ailments, and this concerned me (my cats are my best buds). Well, it turns out that most vaccines contain something called adjuvants (There are adjuvant free vaccines available, but many vets still do not use them) to help create a stronger immune response in the vaccine. Unfortunately, it’s thought to be the main culprit behind these carcinoma’s (which are very aggressive, and rarely end well for your feline friend). Well, apparently, in addition to traces of mercury in some vaccines, human vaccines also often contain these adjuvants. Even the veterinary community is in agreement that you should not over vaccinate. In other words, you must weigh the odds of whether or not the threat is real, and vaccinate or not, based on those odds. In the case rabies vaccination for your pet, that’s a must, since the threat is real, and always fatal without.

    1. Extra minion brownie points for liking cats. I'm glancing sideways at the NOL's dog right now, who I love, but I can't help thinking, "what a dumb lazy brute".

    2. That dog is a bunch of calories that follows you around like a sucker. I think that dogs get eaten in every post apocalyptic book I've read. One minute after, the scariest book ever, he eats his dog. Rawles book some poor dog gets eaten.

    3. Dogs should not be eaten. They are your best sentries and they always have your back. As ONLY companions though, I'd take a cat.

    4. We have 1 mutt and 5 cats, all received the required shots when very young, then never again. Rabies? Not possible here. At our house our pets really are our friends, we don't just talk it, we live it. Unless rabies can be transported through the air at great distances it is just not physically possible for it to happen here. Nor has it happened, not even close, in the 35 years we've had pets. We have multiple layers of safeguards. Pet safety is 2nd only to our own safety. I trust nothing that is put out by the gov't and large corporations, ever.

    5. Agreed that cats are useful critters and good company.
Though I highly recommend a Maltese dog. They are like a blend of a cat and a mini Golden Retriever. You'll not find a more loyal breed of dog.

  3. OK. It looks like I need to go over this one more time. Small words in short sentences.

National Security Agents don't hire tech-commandos and other asocial autistics.

Tech people don't contract with National Security Agents.

They are the same people. NSA are the tech companies. The tech people are National Security Agents.

    [sigh]

I know I'm hardly any fun sometimes. But just imagine if we were National Security Agents... unlimited budgets! Spectacular benefits! Well-paid and well-deserved retirement to a tropical isle with supple nubiles of our preferred gender! A life-time supply of slowly-pilfered office products!

But, seriously, at the other end of the circle, nobody in their right mind would ever consider life in a tech company. Unless this is all merely a post-mortem dream.

And that, friends, is easily as possible as any other explanation.

Criminy. I just realized I'm laying in bed alone on a Saturday morning with a telephone as my only companion, one-finger typing to invisible people.

Cripes. I just realized this is a hallucination. Fortunately, the characters I create to fill this particular hallucination are fun folks. Are they all agree with me.

Boy oh boy, this is one of my favorite hallucinations!

    1. Without hallucinations, all that is left is reality. Blech! I haven't researched the NSA and tech companies links to any degree. Yours is an interesting view. It would explain a lot of things.

  5. "...the troops arrived to surround and artillery barrage the village."

Then about 30 seconds before they pull the mortar wires the generals scouts notify him that THEY are in fact surrounded by no less than a full battalion of sundry of 4x4 vehicles pulling an array of trailers including fuel and utility and all are heavily laden with 100 mil pieces of ammo all aimed in their direction. The leader of this hillbilly echelon, with wireless switch in hand, says over the bullhorn, "Morning General, wanna dance?"

The city soyboys may roll and cry because their pocket bangtoys are threatened but out here in the country our guns are serious tools and we will see them before they see us. There's a way gun irrelevancy may occur as I've explained before here, but it won't be by physical confrontation, it will be administrative and it will start with a letter in the mail or tacked to your door/gate, or text message, or email.

  7. The mercury has been removed from some, but not all vaccines. It was replaced with aluminum, which is just as bad for your body, just different.
    Peace out

    2. With the availability of cheap 18/8 stainless everything,no reason to have aluminum.

    3. The reason we are offered aluminum, of course, is it is cheap to make ( or at least, excess capacity needing to be sold ) and profits trump health. Plus, you never know when you need another fleet of aircraft when the Nips attack us, so you can't idle the aluminum plants.
