BATTLE RIFLE BOOK 17

Gun control has been with us almost as long as the Federal Reserve Bank.  Actually, a smidge longer if you look at local laws.  But that was mostly Black Gun Control laws.  A few, such as the devil’s rectum, New York City, were way ahead of the curve ( one of the original Diversity Is Our Strength locations, where now you get to choose if it is the cops or the ghetto warriors who kill you right after you paid your soda tax ).  But mostly, What Gun Control?  All I can tell you is there is only one cure for the trend.
*
Well, okay, two.  If the system implodes, the apocalypse will eliminate any gun control.  But otherwise, unless you fight back, you can’t stop gun control.  I’ll remind you that some very right wing Republicans ( such as fascist Daddy Bush ) loved gun control and some extreme Leninists village idiot from Kenyan never passed any gun control laws.  Gun control is like a box of chocolates, each Presidential term ( Make Murica Great Again, says Trump, as he passes gun control laws ).  Unfortunately, NOT fighting back against gun control has been around since the first prohibition.
*
And because no one has enough testicles to fight gun control, or fiat money control, or the Drug War or proclamations that any US citizen may be indefinitely detained without charges, we all will get more of the same ( I do NOT advocate fighting back, or rebelling, or revolting.  Hide, and enjoy the show as the system destroys itself.  No need to be a martyr ).  Gun control is assured, just not its location, timing or details.  So, there you go. Buy now or forever hold your peace.
*
But gun control is old news.  What is new is our strange and bizarre economic system, capitalism and globalism acting retarded before it dies.  Sure, that is good news insofar as globalism-although the system has kept the lights on, if unchecked our skeletal remains will be picked clean.  If we don’t collapse for another twenty years, there will be far more people here, with far less resources, making the end more violent and miserable.  Better to get it over now, but then, we all vote for this to be our grandchildren’s problem, don’t we?  You can act noble and pretend, but I don’t buy it.
*
I hate and detest globalism.  It is a system used by the banks to obsolete our citizens ( easily replaced by Turd World’ers ).  Without domestic fertilizer, or transportation fuel, or industrial infrastructure, globalism is now both necessary to survive and a noose constantly tightening.  That said, without globalism you wouldn’t be living in relative luxury.  And, per this discussion, you wouldn’t be buying guns and ammunition.  It doesn’t matter if you Buy American, because most of the raw materials come from overseas ( I understand this is a chicken and egg problem, but the system as stands make importation mandatory ).
*
Not just because none of you would be employed ( you wouldn’t, without imperial shipping lane and oil field and world currency control ).  But because a lot of minerals have been strip mined here already and are available only from overseas.  The domestic ammunition shortages occurred the same time that China was unable to consume as much copper as it needed.  No one wants to believe most ores are gone, just as the easy high BTU oil has been gone over a decade, and try to blame Obammy for the shortages.
*
I hate Obammy almost more than anyone, but he didn’t take your precious ammunition.  China was.  You don’t like THAT answer because it implies the US doesn’t have the world’s most bestest economy ( last I checked, China didn’t have 33% unemployment ).  China doesn’t either, granted, as everyone is in a race to the bottom.  Some just don’t suck as bad, and China is one of those.  The US is not.  Sorry.  You only have a job because there are a few countries still accepting the PetroDollar, not because MAGA or anything else.  And there is still a few wires left to stripe from the walls.
*
Now, China was bidding up the price with copper, and the chemical industry was hurting from oil prices, and higher prices caused shortages in the ammunition JIT inventory.  Prices skyrocketed as a result of JIT failures, as now everyone went from a normal shooter ( a couple of boxes on hand, stopping at Wally for a weekend of plinking ) to a shooting hoarder.  The system could not keep up, not for years.  As China took more resources, the American shooting industry could only make what was used.  It could not supply everyone stockpiling.
*
And I’m sure you’re bring up “after the Trump election, ammo was cheap and plentiful again”.  Okay.  But why?  Another thing happened with Trump’s election. Interest rates started going back up, after years of close enough to zero.  What did zero interest rates do?  It allowed broke companies ( and local governments ) to stay in business.  As soon as interest rates started being raised again, the free money spigot was shut off, and marginal organizations could no longer charge all their troubles away on the central bank credit card.
*
And of course, this cascades.  More layoffs, leading to less buying, which causes more lay-off’s and etcetera.  It only wasn’t worse because the propped up stock market made it worth losing money for a CEO so he could cash in on his stock.  In the meantime, China had hitched its economic growth on our consumption.  Less consumption, less demand for resources in China.  Less demand for China to build ghost cities and connect everything by rail ( which is smart, by the way, as rail is much more efficient shipping goods and people ).  Rising unemployment here, less ores to China.
*
So now ammunition is cheaper, there being less copper demand overseas.  But rather than buy in bulk as was the case a few years previously, fewer-much, much fewer-people are buying any ammunition.  Or guns.  Prices tumble even more.  Sellers drop quality ( cashing in on once quality brands, less quality on ammo ) and with demand destruction reducing raw material cost, costs keep plunging.  Ammo is stacked high and guns are at fire sale prices, not because of gun control or lack thereof, but rather because of purchasing power or lack thereof.  What happens after this?  Bankruptcy and rising prices.
*
After selling at or below prices, more companies go out of business.  Once the glut is reduced, and demand increases because of lack of supply, prices will go back up.  And the cycle will repeat itself.  Both buyers and sellers are knocked out of the market, and as each one does they teeter totter the prices up and down.  Just like with gasoline.  No one wants fracking oil as it is only good for gasoline.  Diesel is in short supply, but gas goes down in price.  The falling gasoline price forces fracking companies out of business and less supply raises prices.
*
As of this writing, it looks like interest rates have risen enough that the stock market is finally being affected by failing businesses.  This will knock out more businesses ( that were only there milking the stock price, otherwise being insolvent ).  So the days of giveaway prices might just be over.  Regardless of gun control ( or not ), these might just be the last days of affordable or even available guns and ammo, just from an economic standpoint.  I, myself, would panic buy.  One time pain and forget it.  Look how different the firearms market was twenty years ago.  I think in just two more years, the same will be said.

  1. Yes. I worked in retail gun shop and concur with Jim's astute assessment of the macro market forces. Minions have to tune in to these dynamics and influencing forces when making their own buying, stocking, forecasting decisions. Watch for false prophecies and lemming trends. There is high level strategizing that a Minion must use so as to not get burned or waylayed down a wrong path of decisions. A good operating principle to use is keep things simple, (proven milspec design choices) practical not unicorn riding militia fantasy, and within one's own or group abilities. Only a handful of people in an entire gun show mob has that wisdom and perspective, that includes people on both sides of tables and retail counters. Plan and act accordingly.

    1. I'd call the AR trend Lemming Like. Sure, reasons, but at the cost of ignoring most everything else.

    2. Pegged it with the term "Lemming like" Jim.
I've been saying that for years, that dude's were buying that POS because of the sand box years and video game wanna be Call of Duty warriors...
      Marketing said to buy them.

Also thought the ammo shortages were primarily because of hoarding, starting up with the Event at Sandy Hook.
However election of the Orange one removed fear factor because that mooslim was no longer gonna take da gats.

    3. After Bump Stock, don't trust Cheeto Boy with your guns, either.

    4. Re Cheeto boy...hell he was probably assault weapon ban during the Clinton years. Nothing new to me that he'd currently be the same.
It is quite satisfying to me that most of the things I predicted about him are coming true. But only satsfying to my ego...
Thanks old MI spy alert went off the day he announced . Said back then , Trump as a lifelong Democrat , was only running as an R in order to destroy that party. In my estimation he is doing a pretty fair job of that and Putin's bidding to destroy America from within.
Still , I'm adamantly thinking... politically we are sooooo screwed.

    5. One silver advocate guy on Youtube ( Truth Never Told ) loves showing a screen on Trump with one of the Rothschild ( or perhaps it is Rockefeller-same difference ) guys quoting how useful of an asset Trump was to them. It was something about a huge loan to him back in the day. The Demo Party seems to be doing everything it can to destroy itself, also. It is still useful to just think of both as "Imperial Party". As for Putin, or China, they need to do very little to nothing. We will defeat ourselves. We are already baked into the cake screwed socially and demographically. Economically. Politically is the least of our problems.

  2. The small town where I live only had one gun store at first, and towards the end, there were 3. And after the communists got voted out of power, they all went out of business. Well there’s one thing that’s for certain; communists are good for gun sales :D

    1. Were they all selling AR's and FLIR's? That's the new business model. We actually got a prepper store here but it only lasted a few months. And that was with smoking hot babes running the place and selling Tactical Tommy gear and guns. I guess they should have targeted the LDS'ers.

    2. Actually, one of the businesses went by the name of Guys Gals And Guns. Talk about a wise marketing campaign, by targeting those that hold the purse strings.

They might have taken it a step further, and named it Guys, Gals, Swarthy Fellows, Tranny's, Rump Rangers, And Guns. Who knows, in addition to having "customers up the wazoo", they might still be in business :D

    3. You're killing me here, Smalls! :) Wouldn't a good marketing name be something like "Communist peasants about to be disarmed and FEMA camped"?

  3. If only I had enough money to buy gold in 2000 like I wanted to. But my ex-wife seemed to want to spend my money (we were already divorced) on a pool. The pool was still cheaper than keeping her around . . .

    1. Buy silver, now. It will be the new gold. Probably not in our lives, but that's not important. The Boy will appreciate it. Honestly, more than all your PEZ.

Yeah, I don’t think the US needs any help in this dept Jim. The latest Goodbye America:

This kid will be picking up beer bottles with his asshole, for free shots down at the local pub, by age 16 :D

Nah, the Chinese and Russians are just laughing at us, and rightfully so. This is a military (the latter) whose special forces punches each other in the faces, and breaks each others noses, during basic training. Compare that to our PC, fem, pink slippered, and trannie military. Yeah, I’ll just bet that they’re quaking in their boots at the thought of the US military, lol :D

    1. Americans are in worse danger from our own military, as it will be so ineffectual that the nukes will start to fly.
