MALTHUS’ GORE WARMING 4

I’m not going to cover your area, giving you location specific advice.  While generalities might be nice, such as “the Southern states will be inundated with Gott Damn Yankees who desperately flee the cold”, you can’t cover an entire continent such as the size of the US and deliver any justice to any particular town without writing a book.  You are the best judge of the dangers you face in your particular place.  Let me just cover my burg as an example.  Elko Nevada is in the upper left corner of the state.  There are only four towns of any size in the state, one on each of the only rivers.  The fifth largest town is about eight thousand people, the largest is Vegas at something like a million and a half ( the state totaling around 2 million ).  Take away the first three cities on the borders and you are left with an interior with only about 200k people ( very broad numbers-I’m going by memory and old census numbers ).

Nobody is going to travel INTO the state.  If you leave central or northern Idaho you get much drier traveling south.  There is little reason for Utah, with its relatively adequate moisture at the foothills of the Rockies, to travel into the Great Basin ( the state of Nevada, but NOT Las Vegas, compromises almost all of the Great Basin geological area ) towards lack of water or towards California.  As dry as California is, there is little reason for them to come into Nevada which is far, far drier.  They should travel north to their own wetter northern portion plus the coasts of Oregon and Washington.  Those two states won’t travel eastward into their own deserts and on to Nevada, but up the coast and over into Idaho.  Arizona is just plain screwed, having to travel through the Mohave and THEN through the Great Basin although first contending with the hoards in Las Vegas.  I don’t think they are too much of a threat.

No, the only threat is from Las Vegas itself.  It is by no means a small threat.  Even if they must travel 400 miles to my location, 200 miles before surface water, then another 200 without again, they still pose a heck of a problem.  I can’t just discount them by saying they will all die of thirst.  If you had a bicycle and three gallons of water you could easily make half the trip in two days-and the state isn’t as bone dry as points further south-there will be other minor sources of water.  What concerns me is that, just like Southern California, these damn fools have overpopulated a very dry area and they are far away from water.  And they only have one way to go to get out of there.  Which unfortunately is funneled by all our mountain ranges running north-south.  And I am in the way.  When you are looking at a million and a half people and only one percent reach you, that is still your town almost doubling in population.  Granted, they won’t all stay, but the location is already grossly overpopulated with oil inputs as it is.  We need to drastically shed population, not double it.  ( now, apply to your area with its own set of concerns and geology )

Okay, everything above was pretty much a repeat of concerns with the Golden Horde.  So, how will Gore Warming Refugees differ?  In our popular narrative, the Golden Horde are generally a one wave car transported threat.  Gore Warming Refugees are a DISPLACING force, not a one time looting force.  Your stuff isn’t in danger, but your population.  Recall the attacks of the horse nomads to points east of Europe.  The refugee waves fled west and pushed off the local inhabitants.  Those displaced moved west and displaced the next group of locals, who themselves were forced out and forced to displace populations further west and etcetera until all of Eastern Europe changed its population.  Of course, keep in mind that each attack and retreat entailed a lot of casualties.  But you are NOT looking at just the original population from a far away land.  You are looking at ALL the population they displaced as well ( minus the few that stayed along the way ).

Are you getting the picture?  The original area under attack ( under military attack, under climate change-same difference to you in the end ) is forced to leave, then forces almost all others between them and you towards your location.  Each in-between location will see traveler and local conflict, and then traveler against traveler as different groups fight each other for squatters rights, then the vanquished move on to the next location.  Moving through undesirable land, very few will drop off and stay as they must take into account carrying capacity ( with those miscalculating optimistically part of the NEXT wave ).  The total numbers will drop as each location sees casualties, even accounting for the extra population, but since the numbers started out so huge you will see large numbers at your end location.  And remember, this isn’t ONE attack.  It is a continuous wave.  Eventually it will subside but one guesses that with so many people overpopulated in this country there simply won’t be the ammunition available to survive until then.

Is your area defensible?  You aren’t looking at being passed by by a band of bandits ( say that fast three times ).  You are looking at a wave pushing all before its path.  You are looking at, quite simply, a repeat of the Whites moving west eliminating all Indians.  But in a much smaller time scale, because the original starting place of the Whites is unlivable this time around.  This is Golden Horde on steroids, then doubled.  Ready?

MALTHUS’ GORE WARMING 3

The fabled and feared Golden Horde ( feared by pampered suburban White Bread as the mixture has a certain darker skin tone than what one is accustomed to.  Hey, no judgment here, my brother.  You’d be an idiot not to be afraid of an alien culture of malcontents ) usually has a certain characteristic dictated by the reality of our time-the Oil Age transportation industry.  The Golden Horde is fleet of foot as they mostly all have automobiles.  As with military tactics, so with personal civilian ownership.  Autos allow better mobility ( rail is of course far better at efficiency but is static-while Blitzkrieg owed much to the tank and more advanced aircraft, you can’t discount the ability to move beyond the rail head that characterized the first World War ).  This is where your Drift Lines and Interstate Danger guidelines come from in advice on the Golden Horde, and they are largely correct ( with an important caveat being that some highways are simply a lot busier than others and the isolated ones don’t automatically spell danger ).

The Golden Horde is a particular danger to that breed of complacent survivalist who believes that catastrophe is both Either/Or and Short Term.  They mostly think that since ever increasing amounts of petroleum have constantly been applied to the ills of our society that they always can be and shall be forevermore, that only when those supplies are instantly cut off will there be a problem, and that once the problem occurs it will be over with pretty darn quick.  Hence the four months of freeze dried foods, a generator with four months of fuel, the fourteen semi-automatic weapons with four months of ammo with tactics set on “spray and pray” and the whole host of other short term solutions to preserve the non-negotiable American Way Of Life.  To them, the Darkies invading from the big city is the danger.  Of course Wonder Bread Survivalists also live in those same cities but obviously think themselves smarter and wilier and they can outthink their nemesis’ by fleeing the urban area quicker.  Let me respond to that with one word-hubris.  However, back on point.

The Golden Horde danger is era specific.  It is equivalent to planning a military invasion with horses and carriages.  Once the equipment changes, so do the results.  Gore Warming Refugees will be, by definition, afoot.  The economic collapse has already occurred ( if it hadn’t, we’d still have a near monopoly control on global oil and be able to use that to negate the effects of climate change up to a certain point ) and there won’t be fuel to move by auto.  And, allow me to underline an important point, if you have hoarded gasoline and you do move this way, there are a hundred different ways for pedestrians to stop you-so don’t do it.  The bulk of the population will no longer have internal combustion conveyances.  They also are not as compressed of a mob.  It is more of a continuous wave.  You can, mostly, assume that they will stick to roads, but they won’t be funneled down Interstate highways only.  And since everyone lives at the end of a road, only one in a thousand a cranky old hermit living at the end of a game trail, you will have visitors.  And they won’t be as nice to deal with as Golden Horders.

The Golden Horde mostly arrives as a mob or two.  The valiant townspeople ( along with legions of kickass babes with Linda Hamilton abilities because no prepper fantasy discards that required plot line ) spray the evil darker hued crowds with semi-automatic fire! ( phew! Phew! ) and the worthier richer volk are saved and rewarded.  Damn, dude!  Aren’t you glad you bought a bug out location?  Anyway, then everyone works happily ever after, all men of sturdy jaw and industrious natures, all gals both warriorly studly AND biblically compliant to their Tactical Tommy husbands  bristling with appropriately approved and Grade A stamped plastic space guns.  Jesus friggin weeps.  Again, short term thinking and planning ( the Yuppie Scum Survivalist Guru’s  might include, in the fine print far away from any ads for $5k FLIR scopes and quarter million dollar Idaho retreats, the warning to prepare for a multi-generational collapse.  Then he goes ahead and publishes a series of novels which return our survivors to near normal hereby negating the small hidden warning on the projected time line ).  The Gore Warming Refugees will just keep coming, wave after wave, and by NOT driving up in an automobile, be a bit more stealthy.  I challenge you to assume your soldiers on constant patrol will not degrade in supplies and ability very quickly after this.

Let’s go back and revisit THE best post-apocalypse book ever to be written or that ever shall be written, amen, Lucifer’s Hammer.  For a California author(s) to avoid wish-fulfilling cars galore into the picture was a testament to his scientific and logical mind ( although there was a bit of too violent condemnation of organic farming, as well as his too enthusiastic promotion of nuclear power ).  There was a bit of read-between-the-lines of weather refugees covered here and the arrivals to the Big Money Sponsored Bug Out Location came on foot.  The various ways of keeping them from trespassing were all well and good ( such as blowing bridges ) but of course you can’t have alpine security along with a huge enough population to secure and feed everyone.  Without tractors and chemicals and greenhouse glass, the concept is not viable ( isn’t it amazing to the degree that even today over thirty years later most survivalist writers still feed directly from this books trough?  Ragnar Benson’s latest on a “self-sufficient” ethanol tractor homestead to weather the economic collapse ).  Again, the origin of another survival strategy-the quick recovery ( this time in the form of surplus energy from the nuke plant ).

John Michael Greer, author of the Arch Druid Report blog ( and affectionately referred to as The Druid Dude by myself as I have a lot of respect for him despite his inability to see outside a cheerfully optimistic prism-which I understand is as beyond his capability to control as is my fear and paranoia, cynicism and hatred ), on his web page long ago and in his just published book “Dark Age America”, does stick a trembling pinkie toe in the murky waters of Gore Warming induced regional effects.  I applaud him for this, as few actually bother.  Even the most educated scientists turned authors rarely get down to the nitty gritty of weather refugees ( the book I mentioned yesterday that I must search for being the exception ) and instead park in the Alarmist Camp of Gore Warming Porn.  We are all going to die unless we all circle round the village commons and link hands and chant at Mother Gaia.  Sure, they tell us that the oceans will rise X feet and ruin the habitat of most of humanity.  But no one talks about the poor bastards inland who are “displaced” by the refugees.

Greer takes a pretty good guess at what different regions of the US will look like after Gore Warming gets worse.  He assumes the Gulf region will be largely uninhabited due to its low elevation.  The new port cities will be further inland.  All well and good, but Greer likes to travel a century into the future and visit his Permaculture Village.  I really don’t care what 2116 looks like, I’m more worried about 2020 to 2025.  Let’s try a bit of a timeline ( of course, while I’m always right about the general direction, my timing sucks.  Keep that in mind ).

-End of 2016 to summer 2017, The Last Depression hits as the big German bank implodes under its derivatives exposure.  The other central banks think this will give them extra time as they take on the few assets made available, just like Lehman’s, but the US Fracking Field implosion tips everyone over the edge.

-The Federal Reserve is unable to bail out the rest of the Western central banks this time, and the PetroDollar system crashes and burns.  Mid 2017.

-Without half to three quarters of its imported oil available ( excepting the Canadian shale oil still available that the Kunucks realize will keep them from being invaded and occupied ), the US economy instantly collapses. 

-Oil feeds transportation, and everything is transported long distances in the US.  The worst is the food, as urban farm belts long ago turned into suburbs.  The whole economy is built on burning oil, and lots of it.  Late 2017 will see the first mass deaths from lack of heat and inadequate food supplies leading  to malnutrition and that spreads pandemics. 

-Americans, lacking community and spoiled by a lifetime of luxury, with half owning firearms, decide to leave the worst areas and go elsewhere, regardless of how those natives feel about the situation.

Spring 2018.  The federal government has pulled back to Maryland with troops more worried about railroad corridor security and controlling the corn production over the northern Plains aquifer as well as Texas and Louisiana petroleum infrastructure than helping out any citizens.  With states left with no resources, local communities are left on their own.  Those turn on themselves.

-Summer 2018 is New Normal with just the regular problems of lack or rain or too much of it.  Pathetic garden crops, most the few germinating seeds from the normal hybrids, do not do well. 

-Hurricane Season 2018 is about New Normal.  Thousand Year Floods, hurricanes behaving strangely.  Any effected area looks about like New Orleans.  Diaspora begins everywhere.

Now, keep in mind that the above, while perhaps a bit sooner than reality will bring us, needs nothing more than what is already happening to transpire.  The world saw a severely hot summer about fifteen years ago, then followed by one eight years ago.  I’m not talking about the scare mongers “hottest summer on record” events-we hear about that every year.  I’m talking about newsworthy summers such as when tens of thousands of First World people die from the heat, as millions of acres are burned after weeks of having no electricity.  And haven’t we already seen several instances this century of global wide crop failures?  How can you keep having Thousand Year Floods every third year and still call them millennial?  How do you claim that the Gulf Stream is still regular when interstate highways flood WITHOUT a rain storm?  How many times does Miami or New York City get deluged from the sea before we think something is amiss?  Why don’t we concern ourselves when Alaskan temperatures ( obviously, those locations south of the Artic Circle ) stay above freezing in February while at the same time the East Coast is setting record low temperatures?

Don’t you think it is time to stop worrying if Gore Warming is true or not and just focus on your own area and your own personal survival?  Who gives a hump if anthropomorphically warming is a commie plot or the next potential NELLIE ( Near Extinction Level Event )?  You can see with your own eyes that Crap Just Ain’t Right in the weather we have been experiencing.  Plan for the worst case scenario and just be thankful if it doesn’t transpire.

Worse Case Scenario:

-the gardening oasis you think you moved to and investing in will not feed you as the weather changes.

-You live near a craphole spot of biblical proportions which will vomit forth huge tides of humanity towards your location.

-Winters will be much colder, but shorter.  The summers will be hotter and longer.  All snow packs melt immediately come Spring.  Aquifers dry up in all arid regions as Social Security recipients go about watering lawns and washing cars, taking twenty minute showers and wasting water as if they had not a care in the world.  Rationing water takes effect in the form of prohibiting water being served in restaurants automatically which does not effect desert golf courses.  Southern areas will see dry summers interspaced with flooding.

note: if you run across the book "Grave Predictions-doomsday classics" by Dover Publications, run screaming and crying.  A total crapfest of a book.  All the classic tales, from Bear, Bradbury, Clarke, Ellison and Vonnegut are dull, boring, hideous or unworthy.  One story, 80 out of the 300 total pages, started out promising but stuck in first gear.  Stephen Kings story was great, but published elsewhere already.  Do NOT waste your money.

A mere dozen years ago-a lifetime for young lads but a rounding error for us old farts-none of today’s problem were really taken all that seriously.  We all knew they were going to happen sooner of later but realistically they were just some of the dozens of hypotheticals we needed to keep in mind as we were prepping.  Really, what we were taking the most seriously ( I know, everyone is different-I use this in a general sense given the alt media/blogger consciousness of the time as my faltering memory recalls it )-the looming police state-never got a whole lot of traction ( when our Thought Police Boys In Blue are this expensive, extensively trained and close to retardedly inefficient, not a whole lot of Jack Booted Thug-ing gets accomplished-thank goodness ) and what we joined hands across the Rush Limbaugh dial to collectively deny-Gore Warming and Malthusian disasters- is starting to kick our ass.  I almost want to say, Thank You Very Humping Much Marching Commie Cadres Of The Demo Party And Their Rectal Nibbling Media Whores, for keeping us focused on the left hand while the right hand was profiting off of pollution and overpopulation.

I don’t allow even the possibility that Gore is anything other than one of the worst in a very long line of traitorous Confederates who sold out for the thirty pieces of Yankee silver to help enslave the entire captive nation/colony.  His only talent is to get rich screwing over others.  Not that he does anything different than all other politicians, but there is something a wee bit sadder about collaborators compared to  mere honestly greedy bastards.  I don’t think he has a whole lot rattling around in his little pea brain, and certainly nothing so esoteric as earth science.  Other than a cute name for a deadly subject, his existence on this planet, consuming far more than everyone else, is a waste.  Being a mere Lamp Post List member is probably too good for him as he deserves a far more elongated death.  Nonetheless, despite the horrid little blood sucker that championed the cause, we really had better start taking Gore Warming a lot more seriously.

Malthusian issues, overpopulation leading to widespread famine,  should be glaringly obvious to even the most obtuse out there, but I wonder how many survivalists give it its due after the turn of the century gave us as much evidence of its arrival as Gore Warming did.  In this article, I’d like to discuss how so far the danger of climate change refugees has barely effected the US and how soon that will change.  Most survival relocation advice focuses on moving to an area to personally avoid natural disasters but none focuses on the coming differing weather refugees that form after we no longer have the economic muscle to blunt its effects.  In other words, what happens when, economically, we are Greece and environmentally half of our nation is Syria?  It is all I can do not to pull out my beautiful hair in frustration as none of you take me seriously enough about urban overpopulation zones to move, and yet here is another far more serious problem-those same dingus smokers all headed towards you.

This is not the same thing as the Golden Horde.  The GH are all desperately fleeing at the same time after a huge disaster.  Gore Warming Refugees are entire regions moving en mass.  The GH’ers are a few percent of the survivors who decide to leave, and produce an even smaller number who make it through the gridlock and dog eat dog stranded.  GWR’s are fleeing a denuded land, where GH’ers are fleeing a city.  GWR’s are ALL leaving, and out of the GH’ers many are left behind who thought they could survive by staying.  Far too many survivalists think they can bunker in, so I’d wager 99% of non-preppers, the trophy wife blubbering over her McMansion and the proximity of her mother who is always there to consul her princess when the Testicle Wearer is audacious enough to ill consider her feelings, will come to the same conclusion.  The GH is only a few hardy souls, the odds of surviving by staying greater in their mind, where the GWR’s all know that a city under the ocean waves with sewage and nuclear waste added is simply not viable.

Africa right now has so many regions under permanent drought, areas overpopulated, that even nearly ten years ago it was book-worthy ( I really need to peruse my teetering stacks and both reread that one and report its title to you ).  No one can stay because there is simply no way to eat or especially drink.  The area isn’t fit for human habitation any longer.  The US has a lot of areas like that, the only humans living there being equivalent to the Eskimos ( very few in numbers and very skilled at surviving in an area normal folks avoid as the plague ) in times past and the only reason millions live there now is that the craphole is inside the USA with its current-but-not-for-much-longer 25% of the global oil supply.  And that is just with near historical weather.  Imagine the magnitude of the problem when Gore Warming really gets its rocket boosters warmed up.  The African surrounding areas, already overpopulated, see refugee waves helping to screw things up even more.  The US can become a mirror image of that quick enough, given the right Perfect Storm.  Don’t you think it would be a good idea to at least think about the direction of the refugee surge?

Too many survivalists have delusions that as long as they are one days walk from an Interstate highway, they are safe.  Too many of those same survivalists ignore our energy predicament and our changing weather ( having listened to the pabulum of Beck and Limbaugh, thinking they were fellow conservatives.  Well, they are conservations-in that they will do and say anything to retain their wealth ).  Me thinks the problems are far worse than we can imagine.  More tomorrow.

RELOADS V RIMFIRE

Do you recall many times when the military reloads its ammunition?  Me either.  Yet, they use center fire primers.  Not rimfire.  Which are not as reliable.  It is pretty sweet that the military puts so much care and effort into given its troops great ammunition, then gives them a crappy gun to go with it ( I grant you that the original Colt M-16’s were built with abysmal quality control and all of them had severe rusting issues.  You could excuse them for lack of a better break in period.  I’ll grant you that the military keeps making the rifle worse by continually messing with powder types and barrel twists.  That is the Army doing its best to screw up a wet dream.  And I grant you that my issue weapon was an A1 model and so might be excused for jamming constantly.  I’m still not going to willingly bet my life on such a plastic turd ).  But in this case, we could actually learn something from the military ( I usually try to do the exact opposite as it improves my chances of survival ).  Center fire primers are simply better.

The problem with the rimfire, from a logistics point of view, was that they were TOO cheap.  From that basis alone every swinging cheese dingus wanna-be “survival expert” heartily recommended them.  You’ve all read the drivel.  You simply MUST have the following “budget” arsenal: semi carbine, semi battle rifle, semi pistols, bolt action sniper, shotgun and rimfire semi and pistol.  Sure, I’ll get right on that.  $3500 total for the cheapest of each type.  Not included are clips or ammunition.  I’d hate to think what they consider an expensive version.  Long ago I fixed my ammunition calibers at a total of three.  Battle bolt, revolver and rimfire.  If I didn’t have rimfire the third would be a pistol round that could fire from a insert in the battle rifle ( more of that to come ).  You know my feelings on semi’s.  But here is my point.  All those “experts” looked on the rimfire as nothing more than larger volumes of fire to be used by petite females and children.  To arm them, sure.  The most vulnerable need protection more than anyone.  But they are/were imprisoned in the semi paradigm.  They either believe all civilization collapses last approximately 365 days, and NO longer, or they think the supply of tree stump remover for alternate reloading supplies is both immense and infinite.  They never thought to conserve rimfire ammunition.

In and of itself, the rimfire ( and, I suppose I should have reiterated this much sooner, rimfire is both an ignition system AND, as I use it, assumed to be the 22 Long Rifle only ) is really nothing more than a shooting gallery of old re-creation for entertainment purposes only.  It might be lethal but it was never more than a step up from a pellet gun towards the eventual Big Boy guns.  It was mistaken for a survival gun ONLY because the ammunition was so God Awful inexpensive that its only use was to bring forth an alternate source of lead filling the air.  It was a shotgun without the recoil.  Without it being so cheap it should NEVER had made the list of survival guns.  As a forever gun, yes of course.  As a tool to survive the die-off, however, it is nearly worthless.  Now that it is no longer affordable enough to piss away each weekend by the boxful, all of the other factors that make it an inferior round should be taken into consideration.

Not only is it’s ignition system less reliable, it can’t really be reloaded ( okay, it CAN be reloaded.  Technically.  You can fudge the process to some degree.  I would hesitate to bet my life on it, unless it is the only alternative with your budget ).  It’s stopping power is crap.  It’s wounding and killing potential is wonderful, given time.  If you plan on ambushing someone, the round is actually great.  Easily suppressed, you can Ninja their ass and escape easy detection.  Then you wait a few days or weeks for them to die of infection and internal injuries.  If you are out in the open, I would be a little less enthused over the caliber.

Again, it sure beats arrows or muskets.  However, if you are able to afford options, I would suggest to you that almost any center fire pistol round is in itself superior to the rimfire.  Superior reloading ( with more reliable components ).  Superior stopping power ( we are speaking of relatives here.  Nothing stops like a close shotgun slug or a far away thirty caliber battle rifle bullet.  We are not comparing a pistol round to those, only to a rimfire ).  And, sadly, superior finances.  Yes, Virginia, more than likely it will be cheaper to reload a superior pistol round than to buy a factory loaded rimfire.  Sadly, because the era of rimfire is long gone and not coming back.  Ten cents a round for a rimfire, on sale ONLY, verses eight or nine cents every day low prices for reloads ( granted, I don’t factor in lead costs.  Lead is the ONLY reloading item that is low tech.  You can save and salvage and reuse lead all day long with a $40 tool and a fire.  Getting your lead included in the price of rimfire is less of a big deal than you imagine ).

IF you already own a rimfire firearm, AND you already own a lot of ammo, AND you are too poor to pay attention, a rimfire Forever Gun is just fine and dandy.  If you have yet to own a Forever Gun, and can afford it, I would suggest you strongly consider a pistol center fire round instead of the rimfire.  It is simply a better choice all around.  The rimfire no longer holds the title of Frugal king.  Get updated on your survival/prep advice.

OPPORTUNISTIC PREDATOR 4

Most of the governmental predation towards its citizens was disguised and excused as the price for belonging to the tribe.  I’d say, up to about FDR.  After that, as the Depression forced us firmly into the central bankers money economy, the tribal nation state turned into more of a group against group dynamic.  Divide and conquer.  You can’t say for certain that the draft in World War II was as largely accepted as they claim in the State written history books, but I think we could guess that if everyone was so enthused about fighting Das Hun as a way to get back at Japan attacking us ( as if, dude.  Just because Germany was silly enough to declare war on us doesn’t mean we had to do much more than patrol our shores and equip Uncle Joe’s troops-there was empire building afoot and I’d be curious how many of our citizens would have denied participating if given a voice or a choice ) than a draft wasn’t in fact necessary.  And you certainly can’t point at how evil Germany was because it killed the Jews.  FDR certainly was aware of the issue and constantly betrayed and ignored the genocide.  HELLLOOOOO!!!  Empire building going on, not a moral crusade.

That was the end of our nation, if it in fact wasn’t in 1861.  Yet the WWII era propaganda is STILL pushed and prodded on the citizens.  Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but you must support our troops because they are protecting our freedom over there.  Turn in your fellow citizen for anti-patriot activity-which of course is defined as anything the government does or says being disagreed with.  You, my fine feathered friend, are victim to the Monkey Mind.  You are so desperate for belonging and status that you swill from a tankard of toxic liquid offal, loudly thank your server and plead for another serving.  We are ALL like that in our society.  A few socioeconomic groups, a few malcontents, the criminal classes who are denied participation regardless of desire, they retain the Lizard Brain.  Now, here is where it gets interesting from a survival point.  We are ALL Opportunist Predators.  As I said, it is hard wired in our brain.  Those living completely off of the Monkey Mind believe themselves to be above such primitive behavior, but all they do is transfer their behavior from outright physical violence to status jockeying pseudo-violence.

During the die-off, ALL of us will be acting badly.  I personally will have no qualms about helping the overpopulation problem, nor will it bother me to journey to distant lands and take what I wish by violence.  I don’t want to be a complete dingus about it.  No torturing the poor bastards-that is just rude ( the exception will of course be leaders who condone that practice against my tribe ).  If I don’t plan on taking slaves, I’m not going to turn out the victims to die of exposure.  A swift mercy killing is better.  That kind of thing.  I’m not going to pretend that I’m a swell guy that will huddle defensively away from civilization.  In Reality Land, you must either be strong, or be food.  I shan’t be food, and if that irritates your sensibilities I apologize.  That is just the way it is.

But if you are too attached to a Monkey Mind paradigm, you will not have the same response time to a changing world.  You will have a higher probability of dying.  You don’t have to go Full Viking Mode and glory in pillaging distant lands, worshiping gods who encourage such behavior, but you also can’t be dismissive of threats, nor can you challenge such threats non-violently.  It seems to me that the typical survivalist attitude is to leave everyone alone as long as they return the favor.  Most likely, you have no choice as you are surrounded by millions of densely packed urban dwelling scumbag Yuppies.  A low profile is safer.  But that leaves you reactive.  The defense, while necessary, can only supplement a better offense.  Get.  Away.  From.  People.  As many as you can, anyway.  If you are too far away you never evolve past a defensive hermit.  Too many around you and you don’t own enough ammunition.

Another survivalist failing is to assume a monkey mind recovery.  The valiant patriots gather their semi-automatic armed armies and smite the evil government forces.  As I keep saying, there will be no recovery.  Dark Ages following soil degradation last centuries.  It is the only way the soil fertility recovers.  But the main mistake, as far as our discussion here, is that the patriots think they can trust others.  A lot of others.  That is monkey mind crap.  Humans are-what?  Opportunistic predators.  You will be betrayed or used or abused.  Only your tribe can be trusted, and your tribe ain’t three states away.  I don’t care if they want to smite the same enemies.  They will still turn on you at the first-what?  Opportunity!  This stuff isn’t difficult, just never discussed.  Morality and cultural norms are specific to your tribe only.  All other are to be preyed upon.  You might not think that, but others do.  Stop thinking your frantic search for an electronic tribe can be carried over into the collapse.  It can’t, not safely ( by e-tribes, of course I’m referring to our blogger tribes.  They are not tribes-they are electronic book clubs where discussions of mutual interest are conducted ).

Leave the monkey mind Machiavellian intrigues to the wife.  That is what she is good at.  You must be a warrior with a lizard brain, so as to be a better fighter.  Those idiots on The Walking Dead?  Perfect example of focusing on monkey mind crap during battle.  Do you know why females shouldn’t be in a raid ( I tried to watch the series “Vikings” on Amazon streaming.  O-Em-Friggin-Gee!!  The historical inaccuracies aren’t enough, we need a Linda Hamilton “shield maiden”? )?  The war band must be bonded, and practiced in a Lizard Brain mode of operation ( more attuned to primitive dangers ).  Females are more attuned to social dangers.  Besides all the obvious physical issues as well as the mental ones.  Our society is so out of touch with the Lizard Brain thinking we describe war through a Monkey Mind prism.  Don’t you be the same.

Slowly but surely the more thoughtful survivalists out there have come around to the realization that our country is no longer our tribe.  William Lind of “fourth generation warfare” fame has stated that with the successful onset of said conflict, the nation state has lost its credibility as it can no longer protect its citizens-and that is how it was granted legitimacy to begin with.  It is hard to argue with that, but I’d add that you take it a step father and view uncontrolled criminals to the list of combatants the state won’t protect you from.  I’d even go so far as to say that with the War On Drugs, our nation state deliberately created the criminal class it is unable to control as a profit center as well as a mechanism to legitimize internal dissent suppression.  As well as a method of dealing with racial conflict.  Everything is about money in our dysfunctional society.  Why shouldn’t containing Blacks in the ghettos be any different?  Why shouldn’t suppressing the working poor or the middle class?

The problem with politics as profit is that eventually your 1% class has killed all social cohesion.  Not only has the government they control failed to protect its taxpayers, the government goes out of its way to harm said citizens for the profit of the few.  You are, in short, a damn fool if you hold any allegiance to your country anymore.  It used to be acceptable to state “I love my country but I fear my government”.  But even that is flawed anymore.  There is no such thing as your country.  In the process of profiting off the citizens by harming them with Divide And Conquer, by totally disintegrating any and all social order, by annihilating our very culture, all that is left in the geographical area you used to call the US are separate conflicting tribes.  So far, the conflict outside the ghettos is mostly Monkey Mind in nature.  The idiots who are too entrusted in the past and insist on living too close to the Lizard Brain Blacks, somehow both clinging to the old notion of property value and job security despite all evidence to the contrary and professing to be concerned enough about our future to prep, an oxymoron as every passing day more amply demonstrates, will any day now be confronted with a much more primal and dangerously physical conflict.

I’m so happy for you that you are now armed at all times with a super plastic pistol and a newfound situational awareness.  So you think it is okay to live next to an urban area in the millions of residents a large portion who are very angry young Black men ( recall Jim Morrison‘s “they‘ve got the guns but we‘ve got the numbers“  Location, dude ).  Would you like to guess why they are so angry?  It isn’t about a deep awareness of past injustices ( I’ll refrain from going into the details of White slavery and indentured servitude right now as a way to somewhat stay on topic ) as the average combatant living largely through Lizard Brain fails to grasp any nuances derived from extensive education, nor is it because the half breed Kenyan immigrant Obammy said it was okay to do so.  Largely, it is due to economic conditions.  After the ‘60’s Black unrest, the community was bought off with federal welfare payments.  If it was good enough for the Amerindians it is good enough for Darkies.  That should have worked, except some damn fool hijacked the process and made it largely welfare for WOMEN Blacks and their illegitimate children.  In short order, the warriors of the tribe, the Black males, were once again economically disadvantaged.

Contrast the Black males with his Native American counterpart.  Indians are bought off, paid off and bribed to peacefully stay on the reservation and drink themselves into diabetes and early death.  The warriors were contained cheaply ( with nice profits for any corporation selling them the poisons of their choice-two cheers for free markets! ).  The Black males were given the illusion of the ability to work and earn a living just as the factories shuttered and were shipped overseas.  Then were allowed to flounder with no support.  At the same time, the war of drugs intensified.  Blacks, with no other options ( because, amongst other reasons, no White Bread Suburban consumer was likely to visit an establishment if a violent uneducated Black male was the clerk-and besides lack of public transportation that alone kept most from the Service Economy that largely gave the White factory workers an economic fallback ), turned to the business of illegal drugs for support.

Now, as White America finds itself mostly unemployed, the drug business has got to be yet another failing sector financially.  Black males are losing their only means of support ( the trailer trash crowd cooking meth for its White customer base, a group largely divorced far away from ghetto life and already on a economic downward slope, started the process ten or fifteen years ago that our current economic contraction is finishing off ) and once again that means riots and burning, just like in the Sixties.  The consumer economy irrevocably contracting is the cause of the current Black violent acting out, as less money is available for illicit drug purchases.  Remember, as usual, you heard it here first.

So, where does this leave us?  The opening stages of forth generational warfare that is going hot and, this time, cannot be contained.  Now more than ever it is vitally important to realize that the US is emphatically NOT your tribe.  The nation state, with the loss of carbon fuels, also known as surplus energy, is on the way out.  The timing is uncertain,  but the direction is crystal clear.  Centralization is only possible with surplus energy ( remember what we just talked about?  It isn’t the volume of oil we consume, it is the energy those barrels provide.  By that measure, we have less net energy than in 1970.  Factor in population increases and we are WAY below per capita energy use than fifty years ago.  The contraction has already been well on its way ) and without surplus energy centralized entities break up into much smaller units.  The process of the break up, as far as predation on the individual level, we cover tomorrow.
