One day, Survival Prepping For Normal People did a video on how many people are preparing. He was in Houston ( I believe-one of the urban hives down there ) where he had agreed to do a presentation for a Prepping Seminar. The event was advertised, and organized by someone who had done all this before, and there were door prizes AND free admittance. Remember, FREE, advertised, prizes, huge city. And not one damn person showed up. The last Survivalist Expo I showed up at ( before I got way too gun shy about visiting the city ) was in relatively small Tulsa, and it was buttholes to elbows.

My theory is that perhaps a lot of people like the idea of prepping, but almost nobody has the disposable income to practice that Black Art. Not that it takes much money, but nobody realizes that because they don't know Frugal. Hell, I think more people studied that in the 90's when living was much cheaper, versus now. I suppose in the 90's people thought they could be middle class AND be preppers, following the Rawles Model. Now? You can't afford to be JUST middle class.

But, really, ZERO people show up? Let us take a rare moment for an optimistic thought, shall we? Could we perhaps hope the smart money has all moved out of the huge cities, leaving them to rot with the Blue Stater idiots in charge? Perhaps all the real preppers aren't in big cities anymore ( too big. Obviously most of us need to be in some kind of city if working ), and won't visit one for a Prepper Expo. That is the Unicorn Brigade hopium take. The pessimistic take would be, nobody is prepping. Nobody, as in “those left are an uber-niche”.

I know what you are all thinking. Gee, if folks know what is coming, wouldn't they make funds available somehow? Well, no. That isn't how human nature works. Humans don't like change. There is a reason for this. Except for the last few hundred years, scarcity was normal. When resources are scarce, you don't deviate from tried and true methods of food production ( or any cultural norm which was accumulated wisdom on how to survive local conditions ). You do NOT change. That is what almost always works, except in those rare bottleneck events where evolution surges ahead with an up until then deviant mutation.

The inability to change is also a way to cleanse the herd after it overgrazes the resource base. By almost everyone refusing to change during an unprecedented upheaval ( and, surprise Spanky- shrinking resources are new compared to the last 500 years, hence unprecedented for us ), not too many are saved which allows the base to recover. All these idiots who are counted as preppers are the Natural Disaster Preppers, the “72 hour kit” preppers. They don't have the inclination to REALLY prepare. And they certainly do not have the money.

An expo is merely an advertising forum, right? Why go if you are broke? And you already have your three days to two weeks of supplies. You need more like you need a hole in your head. Because true change means believing in true collapse, and ain't nobody got time for that! So, real preppers are a lot thinner on the ground than is thought, I contend. Those that even know about prepping merely half ass it and then actually believe they are prepared, because, no change means you still buy into the Oil Age 'Murican Dream.

Hell, even my beloved Loyal Minions still stubbornly cling to their cars. Okay, geez, relax already Francis. As long as you have a solid Plan B, fine. I understand I myself take it to absurd philosophical levels. My only point is that not being normal is so very abnormal. Almost no prepper is doing the collapse of civilization thing. Which means that almost none are prepping at tribal levels. They don't even have enough for themselves, let alone neighbors. You will almost every single time be obligated to provide for prospective tribal members. They don't think they need much food and they certainly don't have enough ammunition.

Let me go through this one more time. People lie to you ( “yeah, I'm ready and supplied. Let's take on those commies! Team America!” ). People lie to themselves, worse. They do NOT prep towards what they NEED, they prep towards what they can afford. Two different things. What they do is then justify exactly what they have. “I'm smart, I'm too sexy for this shirt, I am exactly as prepared as I need to be”. You had better bet your life on that. I don't get exasperated when folks argue with me because I want to be right.

Hell, I want to be WRONG! About everything. No, I get peeved when folks argue with me because they are convincing themselves that their preps are Goldilocks levels of Just Right. “Why, posh, that Jim fellow is gay over Peak Oil. I are Fracking Fag, hear me roar!”. Look, I don't think I'm smarter than you. I'm going to be dying right alongside you. The difference is, I choose to do so. Your death will be the result of your self-delusion. I actually am trying to help here. I do have a pathological need to be loved.

You think I'm joking, with my record of hate and discontent. Nah. I try to get along with everyone and seek their approval because I'm more of a social creature than I want to admit. I'm non-confrontational, which is why I semi-hermit. I realize the danger in this, nowadays. Plus, I don't like me very much when I attempt to socialize. I'm a little pathetic. Nerd boy without Social Grace one. And I KNOW I over-analyze every encounter while the other party quickly forgets me as I'm irrelevant to them. Despite my hair, I'd advise against wishing to be me.

The most important survivalist tool isn't FLIR scopes. Nor is it skills. Or intelligence. It is being able to identify your self delusions. And you thinking you'll be able to Tribe Up is definitely a delusion. Because no one, probably not even you, is a real survivalist. Almost every one is a Pretty Princess Prepper. People are lying to themselves and lying to you. If you can be the one eyed man in the valley of the blind, you just might stand a chance. Sorry, an almost complete detour today. I'll get back on track with the logistics of farming tomorrow. But you did need to know how much worse it is because you'll be stocking for all those that don't.

I'm not an expert on solar ovens and cooking but here is my experience. 

As far as home built, I helped my twin make a parabolic cooker in cub scouts in the 1970s. It was a half cylinder of aluminum flashing that focused sunlight on a coathanger wire spit. Pretty much a hot dog cooker, or more accurately hot dog warmer.

I have handled many cardboard box/foil/black paint projects. Not knocking homemade innovation, but they weren't anything that was going to last and performance was lacking.

I'm pretty capable building and fixing things and have many tools, but chose to buy the ready made ovens. They are a tool that add redundancy to ways I can cook. In current times, they get used about once every 2 weeks unless I read about a sun oven recipe or get on a Gaia kick. Then I'll use them more often. 

We don't have an electric clothes dryer and line dry everything. I should plan meals better and use the solar oven as much as the clothesline gets used. Solar cooking mainly happens on Sundays when I'm not working.

For about the last 15 years or so I have owned the All American Solar Oven. I picked up another one on sale a few years back. It is handy to have two ovens going for multiple dishes.

- Preheat the oven whenever you can. As soon as I get the idea to make something to cook in the solar oven, I set it up outside to start heating. Then I do my food prep.

- Solar ovens can double as a hay box. 

You begin cooking a meal on the stove, turn off the stove and put the hot meal into the insulated solar oven where it continues to slow cook with no additional energy input

- Besides food, I have used the solar oven to bake moisture out of silica gel canisters. 

Also, one oven came with a water pasteurization indicater (WAPI). It's a transparent tube containing wax that melts and drops to the bottom of the tube when 150 degrees F is reached for 6 minutes. 

-  On the All American oven, the reflector panels fold flat and the whole unit stores easily like a small suitcase and has a carry handle. I store my black enamel-ware cooking pots and baking racks inside. The oven is light enough that you dont dread getting it out to use.

- The newer of the two All American ovens is slightly bigger inside and has a little shadow gauge for precise aiming for max sunlight input. The older version (and any insulated box type sun oven ) is aimed by adjusting the oven's position so its shadow is even on all sides. The oven's tilt foward and back is adjusted with an integral aluminum pole with a detent button. A pivoting cooking platform inside keeps the cooking vessel level. 

In summer with the sun generally overhead- not much tilt. In winter with the sun lower to the south- more tilt.

As we revolve and the oven moves out of its initial perfect alignment with the sun, readjusting periodically maximizes temperature. For instance, if cooking a lentil dish and I get it outside by 8am, I might readjust the oven 3 or 4 times if I'm doing things around the house. But if I am not going to be able to readjust the oven a few times, I will aim it roughly for the peak sunlight position of say 11am to 1pm.

- Foods I've cooked and baked in the oven include acorn and butternut squash, sweet and regular potatoes, pumpkin bread, whole wheat bread using fresh ground flour, lentil and bean dishes, cabbage/potato/turkey stew, boiled eggs (no water used, "boiled" sitting in a cardboard egg carton), and other dishes.

- I'm in subtropical SW Florida near the Gulf of Mexico (the growing zone is 11). The sun is brutal and it is very hot and humid for much of the year. Summer is the rainy season, winter the dry.

Sun Oven temps are dependent on unfettered, brilliant sunlight. Air temperature has little to do with it. Our cool winters with generally clear, less hazy skies make it easier to obtain consistent high oven temps.

My average range of oven temps here is probably 250-325, a bit higher in the clearer months of winter. The oven has a thermometer inside that can be read through the glass lid.

For the All American Sun Oven cost, I saw $249 plus $20 Fed Ex to the lower 48 on

one site. Amazon has many offers. One is $275 with free shipping for just the oven. Many offers are for the oven plus accessory pack: enamel ware, baking racks, etc. Look around, study the pictures.

Is this oven worth it? It depends on your situation as far as finances, the number of people you're responsible for, expected time left to get use from it (dollars per year of use). Will this tool get passed to your kids or tribe? Will this tool's value and importance increase after the collapse?

For me the oven has been worth the purchase price. I've cooked quite a few meals, saved some energy, taught the kids another way of cooking, and the ovens continue to work great after many years.

Survivalists are little better than the general population when it comes to living in a fecal stew of their own illusions, delusions and misconceptions. We are almost as ignorant, just in different things. A “civilian” ( or, non-prepper ) thinks that food comes from a grocery store, granted, but how much better is a survivalist that confuses hardware with strategy? You know I'm talking to you, Semi ( -Auto ) Simians. I don't care what the cyclic action of your firearm is, hell, I enjoy the concept of belt fed armor vehicle mounted heavy machine guns to solve much of life's problems!

Imagine how much better we would all be today if the Kill Dozer Dude had ventilated City Hall and its inhabitants with thousands of rounds of fifty cal, painting the stucco red. Perhaps the Zoning Police wouldn't act so selfishly creating their fiefdoms. People, and I'm sorry but that includes you and me ( and the only difference is you can try to become LESS stupid ), are retarded little chimps that only learn after being knocked up side the head with a Retard Be Cool stick. We are too spoiled with White People Problems and don't want the pain of true education.

The problem with most people is they get a thought into their heads and then invest in it, then can't admit to failure. Some guy reads that semi-auto's are the only possible way to survive the apocalypse, invests a little time and a lot of money, buying into the idea to the point there is zero alternative. He'll have the jack booted thugs pry his semi out of his cold dead fingers, but far worse, he emulates the tactics of other semi users. Without the strategic or logistics necessary to back that up.

I try to tell people, the ninety plus percent of folks with a semi, in a stressful situation, will simply panic and spray and pray. Well, you see, they themselves are special and different and part of the percentage that stays calm under fire and they would never waste ammunition. They know this because they want it to be true, without having tested themselves. I'm not saying they are wrong, just that the odds are very good that they aren't right. This is what I mean about folks having notions they refuse to believe false.

I'm certainly not saying I'm any better. I'm jaded and cynical enough to see the worst in everyone, even myself. Luckily, I'm amused by it all, enough to want to stick around and view the Chinese Fire Drill that will be unfolding. You might know it as “a crap show, asses and elbows”. What could be more amusing that the bug-eyed look of surprise on a fresh corpse when reality finally showed itself after a lifetime of wishful thinking? And I just KNOW I'll have that same goofy ass look on my face. I take solace from the assured look on THEIR face when they realize they just got wheat and bolt actions. Ha!

Whether semi-auto's or farming, the warning is the same. You MUST be aware of logistics. Not the modern idea of logistics as in, I'll use my $800 I-Phone to Amazon order crap ( I was an Apple user not because I was cool, but because of a little machine called a Mac, available long before Bill Gates knew what a computer mouse was used for. Once using Apple was doing nobody any good except the company stockholders, I quit that racket ). Logistics as in HOW you go from bare land to finished product.

That means the infrastructures needing to be in place before you get to use any finished products. The biggest problem with homesteaders ( as in the Backwoods Home Magazine model, not necessarily the Backwoodsman Magazine model ) is that they believe the infrastructure used to enable them to farm will remain in place. They are little more than Free Riders. They know it is hard work to grow your own food, but only because they have to go work a real job to pay taxes for that infrastructure, which they aren't even aware of existing.

Yeah, sorry there Spanky, but once the empire collapses you are no safer growing your own food compared to the ghetto hood shopping at the grocery store. And that is if you are even still farming, because a mortgage on a farm is worse than living in town ( just not a huge town ) with a closet full of freeze dried unicorn testicles. If you have to mortgage your food production, what is your Plan B after the foreclosure note gets taped to your door by the country Sheriff's deputy? I can't believe anyone thinks that needs any elaboration.

If you DON'T have a mortgage, do you think you are any safer? Well, you are, technically. Right up until a bushwhacker pops a 22LR bullet smeared in his own rectal juices into your abdomen and you quickly die after taking the wrong fish meds ( besides, the bullet nicked an organ so you are hosed anyway ). Now, I see Little Johnny in the back there spasmodically waving his arm to answer this Fire Marshal Bill question of “What Would You Do?”. Tribe Up, Yo! Very GOOD, Little Johnny. Now, the question becomes, how?

As soon as you need to start scaling up, you run into HUGE problems. I've talked before about the amount of food needed for even the smallest tribe. Think you can find a tribe that supplies itself? I'd wager you can't get a Fire Team together, let alone a tribe. You keep reading about how so many people identify as being preppers, but the numbers are grossly inflated if you apply real world Forrest Gump qualifiers. As in, “prepping is as prepping does”. They might WANT to be preppers, but they don't REALLY prep. I'll talk about that tomorrow, as well as how a tribe isn't enough ( the scaling up issue ).

For now, I just want to introduce ( or, reintroduce if you knew of him already ) you to Eaton Rapids Joe's blogspot. I'm not JUST short stroking him because he mentions me on his roll call. He does a lot of good work, trying to get out of his cocoon and see the big picture around him. Read this great article HERE . The article is his fiction wrapping up, but don't let that bother you. This one stands on its own and is just an offshoot of what I'm starting to cover here. It gave me a LOT of food for thought. Okay, more tomorrow.

LAUNDRY SOAP, PLUS

Having a regular following ( not flash in the pan, fair weather readers ) of new minions ( new dudes-”loyal minions” has been your moniker for almost two decades. No offense is intended, so friggin relax already, Francis ), I thought I'd rehash a few old off grid subjects. There seemed to be an interest. That, and I don't think even with my gift of blarney I'd be able to fill an entire article with just homemade laundry soap. So, I'll add solar toilets and rudimentary PV power, with hot water bonus. All on the extreme frugal side, naturally.

A few days ago I got one of my “holy friggin Schnitzel, the apocalypse is almost here and I need to do a project or two to delude myself I'm ready” moments. I took my new front sight Lee-Enfield tool ( they make new ones-HERE ) and the laser bore sites I just got on sale at Sportsman's and made sure my two good rifles were ready ( I knew the one needed just a smidge adjustment and luckily came across the tool to order. Over twenty years a Smelly owner and embarrassingly I hadn't thought of this tool. The other sight was right on ).

My other two rifles are more parts back-ups. The one was sporterized ( which, again, I didn't realize until recently is NOT a good idea on certain military rifles such as the Springfield and the Enfield where the barrel is supposed to be under tension. The one thing I'll miss most about ScrewYouTube is the Forgotten Weapons channel. He has taught me more about guns than forty years of reading. Luckily, I can Patreon him and watch vids HERE ) and the other is beat to crap and I'm not sure I can fix the loose front sight.

But that wasn't enough. It was time to finally stop stocking the ingredients to make homemade laundry soap, and actually make some. I would have normally kept putting it off, as Dollar Tree and Family Dollar have half gallon jugs of laundry soap for a buck. Homemade costs about one quarter the cost. Since one jug lasts me four months, I'm saving less than two bits a month. Why worry, right? Well, the only thing lighting a fire under my ass was I was almost out of Shout. Family Dollar no longer carried the generic for a buck.

So I had to start making THAT. But there was no way in hell I was going to pay the retail for dish soap the recipe called for ( recipe HERE ). I had been pretty peeved about the cost of dish soap anyway, which to my mind was unreasonable for what you got. So, the laundry soap was also going to be dish soap. At first I worried, no chemist I, but then I noticed most homemade powder soap for machine dishwashers mimicked the homemade laundry soap ( before water was added ). If it disinfected the dishes in the machine, it should be fine in the sink.

The laundry soap was much easier than I thought ( I knew it would be easy, I just thought the Pain In The Ass factor would be higher ). You need one cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, one cup powder Borax, and a grated bar of Zote ( all available at Wal-Mart in the laundry isle ). Melt the soap in some water, add the soap and powders into a five gallon bucket and fill with hot water ( in the tub/shower is best ). Leave to set up for 24 hours. The one thing I noticed was the soap wasn't dissolving well in the boiling water by stirring.

A whisk works MUCH better. Also, I added the powders to the boiling water once the soap dissolved. Why wait to add it to the bucket? I think all that helped it set up less clumpy ( you'll have an end product that is almost like cream of wheat or tapioca ). I didn't have a full five gallons-more like four to four and a half, so I could stir at the beginning and the next day when done. I had been saving trash dived laundry soap bottles and dish soap bottles for two years, so I had plenty of dispensers.

I got 500 ounces of soap out of the deal, for about $2. More important than the five containers of laundry soap, I had three huge containers of dish soap. At twenty five cents each, versus the stores $2 ( I buy brand name dish soap, and it STILL isn't all that great ). And here's the thing. Lately I had noticed that the Palmolive dish soap wasn't very sudsy, AND it seemed to leave more of a ring in the sink than I'd ever noticed before. Which is exactly what the homemade dish soap did.

Almost as if Palmolive was using much cheaper ingredients similar to what I just used! I don't think a nice smell and a weird color is worth an extra $1.75, Sam I am. Well, and suds. No suds with the homemade. And Palmolive was the least worst of the brand names ( there might be better, but I'm not spending even more ). Sigh. Does it ever end, the breakdown of the Industrial Economy? Don't answer, that was rhetorical.

Okay, that almost made the minimum article word count ( again, to the new minions-yes, I'm anal about word count. Without discipline you don't write a daily blog for fifteen years, and a minimum word count is critical in that ). But being the Prepper Author Hero you've all come to expect, I have to implore you to WAIT! There's even more. It seemed I'm not alone in enjoying discussing Off Grid/Post-Apocalypse Turd Disposal. This is even easier than making homemade laundry soap.

Sawdust toilets. They make great composting toilets. Remember decades back when you first heard about those? A company in-if I recall correctly-Sweden was selling a giant two story fiberglass composting toilet. Poop above into sawdust or similar medium and it slowly slid down to the lower chamber and was ready as compost by the end of its journey. But obviously they were not cheap. Which lite a fire of innovation under many off-gridder asses. There are many alternatives now. The book “Humanure” is available free online, or in book form, but I must warn you most people long ago surpassed his research ( I bought the book-he deserved support for his work, and it was all I knew of at the time ).

The best idea I've seen is the solar composting set-up. I mean, an outdoors humanure compost pile-why? It might not smell but it just seems a bit gross. Use your indoors bucket for solid only waste disposal, a floor of sawdust and then sawdust sprinkled over each deposit. When the five gallon bucket is full ( I would advise a trash bag lining. The bag can join the city dump full of baby and adult diapers and dog crap ), dump the turds, TP and sawdust into a outdoors buried large trash can. Cover the top with a pane of glass.

Boom, solar composting. When full, leave the glass on and don't touch it for a year. Have another separate can you are filling. It should be safe enough for tree fertilizer and such. It MIGHT be safe enough for all but root crops, but I guess that depends on how desperate you are for fertilizer. There is also methane manufacture, which is now just as easy as buying a 300 gallon tote and some PVC pipe. There are plenty of JewTube video's on that one if you are so inclined.

I'd rather not deal with filling and emptying it, but free cooking gas is nothing to scoff at, either. Moving on to hot water, it amazes me how when long ago I tried to share this, nobody wanted anything to do with this. Their high class bitches wanted hot running water. Out in the boonies. Off grid. Living cheap. Screw them! You want running hot water? Lift the container and pour it out. There is your running water. I think folks might be more receptive now that Crap Be Getting Realz, yo!

Take an old sturdy box-I prefer a plastic cooler ( Styrofoam if you are in a hurry now and will replace it in a few years ). Bury it at an upward angled southern exposure ( north for you, Dingo ). Line inside ( all outsides are covered with dirt on your little hill ) out with tinfoil, with the inside foil painted flat black. Place covered Mason jars half full of water inside. A sheet of glass covering the whole thing. Hot water in a few hours ( not hot enough for a solar oven. Those need four sides of reflectors ).

Want a cheap and simple solar power set-up to start? You just need lights to begin with. You can expand later. Your cheapest solar panel, 100 watts ( HERE )( do NOT buy the poly panels, only the mono ones. They are more efficient and about the same price ), is right now $85. A sealed 36 amp battery is $65 ( HERE ). A battery controller is $13 ( HERE ). The light fixture ( HERE ) is $14, and only uses 6 watts for 300 lumens. Total, $177.

Throw in a bit of wire if needed and a couple of fasteners ( the panels now come with very short wires and weird plug-in fasteners for an extension. If away from water, I'd just cut the panel plugs and twist to some standard wire ). $180 all in. Figure out how many watts you can draw and still stay over half full, and keep track of your use. Recharge before it gets below half full, for best lifespan. Double check my math ( seriously ), but I think you have about 200 watts to use to half full on the above battery. At 6 watts for light, eight hours a day in the winter, you'd get about four days use and it should recharge in four hours of good sun.

Simplified, but it just gives you an idea. Think of the system as being in a car engine ( with the panel as the engine ) and wiring is simple. Keep track of your usage. Add batts or panels as needed. That is more than enough today-I'm easily 30% over what a normally long article is. Happy off-grid living.

Divide and conquer, from the same twats who tested airborne contagions on random subway riders, treated humans on par with herds of sheep in nuclear fallout tests, are magically able to collapse skyscrapers with a few random drops of burning kerosene and were never in any danger of lynch mobs after they passed laws for indefinite detention without charges, was wonderful for destroying the culture to the point no insurgency will ever have a change of succeeding here until people actually start starving ( so, you know, don't try to rebel and expect any civilian support-not until the humpers are hungry ).

Yeah, just a quick side note on that. People are programmed to hate change. They will almost always stick with the devil they know. After all, your wonderful rebellion to return to limited government also means folks won't have the welfare safety net, nor will they get subsidized gasoline or have a job anymore once you killed all the corporate welfare. Just saying, for the Militia Porn Star wanna-be's out there. People are selfish like that, risking their life for your political fantasies.

Divide And Conquer, reducing rebellion risk for the last fifty years as people were enslaved and asset stripped. Yes, Spanky, you get below cost gasoline. Good on you. The rest of this deal, where the empire subjugates and exploits its own subjects, is not so great for you. And the reason it happened has nothing to do with capitalism or communism. It has to do with the Imperial Yankee Scum colonizing anyone they possible could, from Southern “citizens” turned sharecroppers to supply the northern factories at near no cost agricultural commodities, to little brown people in the Philippians, to all former British subjects.

Less resources means less per person. Why else is inequality so pronounced ( even as the worker drone class hollers for even more under the mistaken notion of “capitalism” )? The elite aren't going to give up any hookers and blow. The 9% straw boss class IS getting a lot less and don't even realize it ( after the increases in rent, vehicles and insurance, they are worse off than the old middle class. All the newly poor insisting they are still middle class are one paycheck away from homelessness, and the straw bosses think they are doing good for being the biggest turd in the litter box ).

And, again, to repeat in case you nodded off after I repeated myself too many times getting up to this point, THAT was all Peak Oil. That was just more of the same of the shrinking EROI. That isn't even running out of oil, just more resources being diverted from jobs or the military or medical care back into oil and energy extraction. While you were all cheering the Fracking industry, you seemed to have stopped noticing that when fracking delivers a 1 to 5 EROI, it means that six times more energy is diverted to getting energy out of the ground than it did just three decades ago.

But I'm also doing all of my readers a disservice here. I keep harping on the past and how the future is repeating itself. LESS energy caused the last fifty year economic contraction. Even LESS energy in the future just means more of the same. And yet, we haven't even got to the point of NO energy. All my screeching in righteous fury is distracting, in that we keep preparing for and expecting LESS. Which ignores when the oil does stop flowing ( with much still in the ground, never to be recovered ).

Some time back I “treated” my newsletter subscribers ( I'm sure they were less than please I singled them out for 'Mo Peak ) to an article recalculating global oil reserves. I had reread older books and the now standard “we have pumped one trillion barrels, with half that left” is a lot older than you think. From about the year 2000. Dick Cheney got it ( remember Mathew Simmons? He ran in those circles, and Dick was absolutely nobodies fool, unlike the idiot he had to pretend to follow ).

Which means by now we are ALREADY through over 700 billion of that remaining one trillion remaining barrels. Now, I grant you, that was CONVENTIONAL oil. Not fracking, not tar sands, not Venezuelan sludge or Caspian asphalt. But the fact remains, if there was a unicorn level miracle and we got every barrel, we are ONLY ten years away from NO oil. Repeating for the Happy Motoring crowd, that means in 2030 there is zero conventional oil left. Remember 2030? Olduvai Theory 2030? Now, would any of the class like to guess how long the world can run on ONLY unconventional oil? Bueller?

The USA-We're Number One!-is the world leader in fracking production, throwing unknown gobs of money into the process to get six million barrels a day ( one third our daily liquid energy use ). Canada struggles to get not much more than two million ( for export ). Venezuela is about the same. Well, gee there Wilber, that's a whopping ten million barrels. Only seventy-odd short. No Problem! Math Be's Hard, yo-better to just ignore it. I'm looking up the above production figures and I'm STILL seeing that near two trillion figure, for current year.

Okay, you aren't exactly lying when you tell us that the oil reserves are estimated to be 1.7 trillion. You just neglect to mention we've used all that. The implied data is that we have 1.7 left in unconventional oil. At what point does conflict break out globally ( but NOT a global war, just a lot of regional conflicts, decentralized ) when country after country needs to stop producing for export, THEN needs to import enough for the balance of failed production? In case you willfully ignore all things Peak Oil ( “Ooh, Jim likes Peak Oil theory. He be crazy. He thinks 9/11 was a false flag” ), this trend is twenty years ago, also.

Over HALF of all oil producers were past peak, long ago. What, you thought it wasn't going to get worse? When we lose our Fracking Oil cushion in one to three years, will there be any available oil to import to us? Will our currency be worth enough to buy any, if it is available? We won our global empire on a sea of oil running the worlds biggest factory economy. We are a little behind on that oil and industry right now. How do we keep our empire without the oil? Our economy? Even our nation? Earth to Captain Short Bus! We cannot.

The good news is, less to no oil is good. Not for your standard of living, but your status as a slave. If you relocate to a far less dangerous area ( no such thing as danger free, just danger-less ), and have decent food and ammo ( and shelter is good, for after the grid ), and get really lucky to survive The Unpleasantness, true freedom is once again an option. At a high price, granted. But Santa already quit after a Union dispute, so no more free crap under your tree anymore. Freedom ain't free. It costs the death of the Oil Empire. Cheers.

Myths and fables are important, teaching the less than brilliant the tribal culture. Movies are our shared myths. Going back and re-watching almost anything from the 1990's, you can easily see how the PC fables started ( beginning slow and almost innocently ) and how those twenty plus years of myth have created the new generations reality. The idiots you see trumpeting the new reality aren't doing it because they ARE idiots, they are doing so just because the PC Way is reality. Their being morons just disguises the fact.

Zombies are a great way to stay safe while prepping, pretending it is a fantasy game so that no one judges you for being a crazy survivalist. We all know, though, crazy as a fox. The Terminator franchise, even the newest PC pandering garbage that it looks to be, is another safe myth to hide your prepping behind. Not that movies two through six are about the apocalypse, because there are no more than a particular brand of violent action films, but the first movie was, most definitely. And that is part of the popular myth.

We now speak of the NSA controlled Internet as “Skynet”. We speak of the relentless assault by Libards as “Terminator attacks”. Did you happen to notice in Terminator ( as is, number one, the ONLY real Terminator movie. The second installment paid homage, but went no further ), near the beginning in a “future flashback”, the screen identifier read “Los Angeles 2029”? I don't believe any physic mumbo jumbo as if it were prophetic or anything, but I find it fascinating that one of the premier apocalyptic myths gave us that date.

Nuclear devastated L.A., 2029, and oil induced apocalypse Olduvai Theory, 2030. If you remember, myth as history means the message is more important than chronological facts. History as a profession is itself a myth. Looking JUST at “history” reported since WWII, it is almost all myth. The Holocaust could be all propaganda, all myth. It certainly is used as a myth to justify the creation and support of Israel, just as the Evil Hitler myth has justified the US becoming the world empire. Oh, sorry. You wanted me to believe the Holocaust? Then don't censor dissenting voices. I don't care if it happened or not, but I sure care about the First Amendment.

9/11 is all myth, and the more people defend the government version, to the point of wanting to censor dissenters, the more I believe all that history is pure myth ( or, less politely, propaganda ). All this crap you hear about oil is myth. When National Geographic tells me with pretty pictures that Peak Oil is twenty-five years away ( and this was BEFORE fracking, which magically eliminated Peak Oil itself ), I know it JUST happened. In a tribal setting, myth is powerful, a needed tool. It substitutes for schooling, as a way to convey cultural programming.

Since children are taught how to be craftsmen, the girls homemakers and breeders, the boys warriors and herders, that apprenticeship is vastly superior survival wise than a formal education. We think we are far superior to those primitive ass Bush Bitches, as if textbooks are superior to legends and fables. But, hell, you know as well as I do that most Americans learn more history from movies than books. More current affairs from politics than reading. More education from like minded political view holders than from reading. Not to suggest reading teaches more. Just that it CAN teach one to question myth.

It doesn't necessarily. Coke bottle eyeglass wearing eggheads in ivory towers read all their lives and don't learn dingus. They just regurgitate the myths that keep them employed. People living in poverty close to violence ONLY know fables and myths and are smarter than your average college professor. There is nothing wrong with myths, if they teach rather than confuse. But all of today's myths ARE propaganda in the worst way. Not used to teach and guide for the sake of the tribe, but used to exploit and kill you.

Everything you think you know about America, its oil industry, its economy, its politics and everything else that is pertinent to your deciphering the future for your own survival, that is all evil elite created myth. We almost had a Vice President who firmly believed that if we just Drilled, Baby, Drill, all the oil we would ever need would appear. That is Pure D myth. Fracking is physically possible, but economically and EROI impossible. Just because we did it doesn't mean we can continue to do so. If you recall, we got men into space. That didn't make economic sense, though, because we never got to the point of mining the moon or asteroids. It was just a hole to pour energy down.

Nazi Germany and Apartheid South Africa turned coal into oil. And they were able to do so for a very short time, but it was a negative return on energy. They used the current infrastructure as you would use the seed corn to survive in a famine. It wasn't sustainable. So too fracking. If it was real, it wouldn't have needed the mythology accompanying it. I mean, REALLY?!? You pay Glen Beck the alcoholic glory hound douche canoe to pimp fracking? Sure, why not. It worked on most people. The same ones buying the Rush Limbaugh “Republicans can't be evil, not even after The Patriot Act” myths.

Most Americans, on both sides of the political isle, are tribal in that myth has taken over literacy. It wouldn't matter if none of them had gone to school, except that the entire twelve years was just training them to accept the base propaganda so that the following lifetime of lies would be swallowed without thought. Germany ( almost ) rose to world power with institutionalized education ( as did Japan ) so well done brain power fueled the economy. Now Germany teaches Diversity Is Strength and the economy depends on loaning money to Greece and Italy, a sure bet financially.

Mass education can be used for good or evil, but mostly anymore everywhere it is just evil. Americans, in between learning to self-hate better than Germans, at least if White, are busy being taught pure evil myth, the information literally from a century ago ( breadbasket of the world, the Saudi Arabia of the world, the military superpower, the economic superpower, immigrants grow the economy, etc. ). The NEW educational subjects come from nearly two hundred years ago, akin to Southern preachers justifying slavery. The new slave class deserves exploitation, we are all taught. And WHY we are taught that has nothing to do with politics, even if using the analogy of communism is almost true, and everything to do with energy use. Continued tomorrow.

JUMPING THE SHARK OVER THE OLDUVAI GORGE

The Olduvai Theory simple states that the Oil Age is going to last about a century, from 1930 to 2030, and that the production of oil will be the same on both dates. This isn't some cockeyed theory some tinfoil hat wearing dude pulled out of his ass. Since 1979 global total energy use per person has been declining. Since the 1960's, global oil discovers have peaked. Let me repeat that one for the Fracking Fags. Fifty years ago, FIFTY, was when we found the most oil. Every discovery since then has been much smaller.

We are now at the point where we are using far more oil every year than the new oil we discover. Richard Heinberg, who among most of the Peak Oil folks is pretty friggin Optimistic Ollie ( I shudder to think these people actually believe their Happy Outcome hype, preferring to think it just helps them sell more books ), gives the US fracking industry not much past about 2022 before it crashes and burns. And if you cannot do math, a fracking well always declines after four years, compared to a conventional oil well of FORTY years production-that is some bad math.

No one is denying your pretty precious princess pony Fracking Industry didn't save our asses. It did. I do not deny that. After global CONVENTIONAL peak oil in 2005 ( your pretty boy Roy up in Idaho was trying to tell us peak oil was set for 2030. He must have read the same issue of NatGeo I did, while waiting in the doctors office for a scan to detect brain activity ), we had a tiny little thing called the housing bubble which imploded the derivatives market. Fracking oil saved us from that just as Alaskan oil saved us from OPEC.

Do you know how much oil we get out of Alaska now, a mere thirty some odd years later ( a 39% decline in just the last ten years )? Two hundred and change thousand barrels a day, after peaking at one point five million. Not long after global peak production, Mexico went from our #3 provider to now importing oil for its own use. I'm firmly convinced that ethanol was not JUST a farming mega-corporation boondoggle but the US starting to use food as a weapon ( see Tortilla Revolt and Arab Spring ).

Because when energy use per person declines ( and for humps sake, do you people not realize that population grown within the US means that each of us has less energy to use every year? Energy use is economic activity. LESS energy is LESS economic activity and LESS economic activity means the economy is SHRINKING. The only growth industry here is statistical lies, rapine and pillage ), if some countries want to increase energy supply they have to steal it from others. We didn't do too great stealing the oil in Iraq, Iran, Yemen or Libya, but at least we forced production declines there.

Perhaps the plan was to return at a later date and start production again, but of course as I pray you understand by now, Libya was our last successful military adventure stabilizing the PetroDollar. We lost the economic war after that, which was quickly followed by a decline in military power. Could we kick the ass of any Bear or Dragon power in conventional conflict? I don't think so, but if you buy into the whole Hegemonic Sole Superpower 'Murica Uber Alles thing, whatever. Even if we can best the other nuclear powers, we can't counter insurgency.

And those are the boys keeping us from pumping oil ( well, in Libya and Iraq, with Yemen to follow as its hot war subsides. Iran is held back by economic sanctions, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some US cyber war there ). Africa has proven that it is impossible to pump oil in a war zone, for decades past. Now we have proof in Iraq and Libya. And yet, somehow, hope springs eternal that Earth is a hollow ball just filled with a petroleum center. Just waiting for us to drill, baby.

The war for energy has seen more and more areas cut off from sharing “America's Oil”, and more and more the locals are pissed and fighting back. That means, Spanky, that THE OIL STAYS IN PLACE. And that is just military conflict opposing the long trend of shutting out consumption competition. There is the economic factor. If you are all Ray Charlies up in your tree fort accompanied by your pet unicorn, not only do you think the US has the bestest military but that ours is also the Indispensable Economy. You actually believe government statistics.

I congratulate you on doing your due diligence, but you are falling for the Long Con. When all corporations lie about their success ( one set of books for the buyer, one for the IRS and one for yourself ), the best strategy is to avoid the stock and bond market altogether. When the government lies about everything, your best bet is to assume the very worst is happening. The government refused to admit Agent Orange was bad until most of the vets died off from it, reducing the financial hit ( both as compensation and related medical ).

By the time the government and its lapdog media admit to Peak Oil, we will ALREADY have run out. You see, it isn't JUST about Peak Oil anymore. Not even close. Peak Oil only meant the easy oil was gone and production was going to start declining. Peak Oil has been ZERO fun, as we all know, but that was the easy part. The problem now is the Olduvai Theory. That is when crap runs out, yo. THAT is the scary crap. That is when it gets real, when after stealing oil from the rest of the world, we start stealing from our own countrymen. Sound familiar?
