CULTURE COLLAPSE

The other day, I mentioned that the 1960’s economic collapse was viewed as a cultural collapse and we placed the cart before the horse.  We are still doing that, making survivalists just as guilty of transference and denial as the general public is.  At least in kind if not degree.  I talk about the idiocy of corporate suits, obviously implying idiots in charge, rarely instead focusing on the fact that idiots must be in charge to manage a dying institution.  We talk of college not teaching a darn thing after four years, but fail to note that Political Correctness is actually the perfect training for a dysfunctional system ( we think PC made the system that way, when the opposite is true ).

How about a military that is passive and expensive?  Retail stores that dislike inventory?  Fire departments that put equality before saving lives or police departments that place skin color before competence?  Hospitals that get more profit killing you than saving you?  Workers that cannot actually perform their job by any definition of the term?  Films and books that cannot entertain?  If you recall the term, “he is paid to do ONE thing and can’t even do that”, that is our entire system globally.  You can’t blame that on politics.  Or even economics.  That is simply systematic collapse.

Which somehow we keep denying is actually taking place.  Preppers confidently go on with their lives after the next hurricane is stocked for.  Survivalists spend all their time talking about WHEN the collapse will occur.  It used to be “if”.  Now it is “when”.  But one thing we forgot to note is that it went from being “when” to being “now”.  We see all this dysfunction and say “this is what is going to cause the collapse”.  What we should really be saying is “this proves the collapse has already happened”.  Yes, I’ve gone from talking of “when” to “when will the final phase of collapse start the die-off”, but even I’m not sure I’m really comprehending the true state of our being.

I’m still thinking in terms of economic collapse which started fifty years ago ( I’d postulate that the Peak Steel of the fifties was what really ended our Industrial Age economy a dozen or so years prior to Peak Oil.  If that was indeed the case, all those hundreds of thousands dead in the two World Wars sacrificed themselves to the elite for really only a mere fifteen years of trouble free western civilization rule-less than one generation.  Call Peak Iron Ore 1957 or ‘59 and the economic collapse following that just four or five years after.  Just like the global Peak Oil was followed three years later by the ‘08 collapse ).

But at some point in time we went from an economic collapse caused by resources costing more to extract ( remember, capitalism is based on resource THEFT.  Once it costs something to actually produce…) to systematic collapse caused by resource supply contracting as population grew exponentially.  I can’t time that switch, especially since we always tend to focus on singular causes which distorts things, but I’d guess when the last of the gushing free oil started drying up in the late ‘90s ( at the same time China started needing a humongous crappot worth of resources themselves ).  I could be wrong, but that would merely be academic.

We still think we are in the far more benign economic rather than systematic collapse.  Even when we sternly have a talking to with ourselves, “self, you ignorant slut, it is SYSTEMATIC”, we don’t truly comprehend or believe ourselves.  We grew up in an economic collapse.  That is our reality.  Those make for interesting times but they are by definition recoverable from.  I used to congratulate myself on being born just as the collapse started, saying how wise I was to the reality of decline rather than growth.  I think I’ve been fooling myself.  What I’ve been doing was habituating myself to decline rather than collapse.

I have had great fun in exposing the Druid Dude as an optimistic ass, but am I much better?  If I’m seeing the reality of decline, with collapse in the future, how is that different than his 300 year stair step collapse?  Sure, I’m talking die-off within my lifetime and he was talking a sharp decrease in population not through resource contraction but through the inability to procreate due to limited resources, but neither one of us acknowledged that we were already past economic collapse.  That was the lifetime norm.  It was our paradigm instilled while we were in our formative years.  It branded our perception and reality.

We are going on one generation of resource contraction having caused ( note past tense ) a systematic collapse and we are still looking at the economy as if it mattered anymore.  It only matters because we are so focused on money as a survival tool.  Women debase their bodies for it and men debase their souls and ruin their bodies for it.  Yet our economic system is predicated on growth through resources increasing in supply.  The proverbial “infinite growth on a finite planet”.  The tree huggers get it, then waste time trying to fight a system which by its very definition is incapable of NOT growing.  How many trees did they kill tilting at that windmill?  How much economic growth through resource use did they cause trying to convince people to stop using resources?

I don’t buy for a second the argument that they are using a little resource capital to stop growth.  The entire world eats because of unrestricted resource extraction and waste and use, and to preach to people to stop eating is beyond retardedness.  So sorry your whole life has been wasted, but as you yourselves admit, we had to start thirty years ago to make a difference.  So now you are just a resource eater like everyone else.  If you REALLY care and want to help the earth, hijack the plane you are on going to that green conference and plow it into a mountain.

The same for all you squawking about Gore Warming, not just Club Of Rome resource and population issues.  If you are still driving you are part of the problem.  Shut up.  Your hot air is warming the oceans ( I’m kidding.  The warming of the earth, irregardless of being man made or not-refer to the above It’s Too Friggin Late statement-is an important component in your survival plans because of extreme weather events, potential diasporas  and even farming plans ).  For anyone, political pundit, Gore Warming advocate, anyone who advocates changing behavior, you are NOT getting it.  Too.  Friggin.  Late.

When a system is in collapse because there are no longer resources available to support that system, there is no saving it.  Period.  Full Stop.  All dysfunctional behavior does not portend collapse, it is proof of collapse.  NOT just economic anymore.  Economic collapse is a slowing of the growth.  Systematic collapse is not just NO growth but rather a constant increase in the amount of decline.  We have gone far too long with that decline to even begin to pretend it is capable of recovery.  Even recoverable at a level below the old norm.  The only thing we have been seeing is the rate of decline slowing slightly for short periods.

This could be construed as a stair step collapse, granted.  But that concept implies a much gentler downward slope than the far more realistic sharp drop off the cliff.  That is how animal overpopulation corrections happen, and we are but mere tuxedo clad chimpanzees.  I’ll continue tomorrow going back to the beginning of this article and expanding on our behavior being caused by the collapse rather than as a consequence thereof.

Yesterday we talked about what constitutes a realistic windfall and left off stating that if you are a novice prepper, food is first.  Refer back to a previous discussion of Better Than Nothing weapons if you don’t have a firearm ( garage sale archery set, or watch a YouTube video on making a PVC one, and anyone can have a bow for $10 ).  You cannot improvise food like you can weapons ( every other swinging cheese dingus out there is going to be hunting, trapping and eating edible weeds.  There is a reason hunter/gatherers need to have exclusive territories.  If you can find a desolate area without competition, these strategies work.  Otherwise, sorry silly survivalist stories ).

Yet, you probably also need more food if you are even the average Super Loyal Minion.  When you can buy a years supply of bare bones calories for $100, sorry, one years food is a sad and sorry benchmark.  What?  You spent more on a cheesy .380 back-up pistol ( seriously, check out Sportsman’s Guide for their $150 pistol.  The better size ones in Deluxe Glock-like plastic are only $200.  As much as I poo-pah pistols and semi’s, you would be a damn fool to NOT use this buyers market to your advantage while it lasts.  Just don’t be a Yuppie Scum about it and be all guns and no ammo-that’s all I’m asking ) than your entire apocalypse food stash?

Yes, yes, I understand.  You spend $1,000 on super num-num foods like meat and cheese and you only have three months worth of food because of that.  Fine, you don’t particularly like wheat and wheat accessories.  So?  I can guaren-damn-tee you that once you get hungry it will taste a whole lot better.  Get the wheat.  Even if you don’t consider it food worthy of you, get it in case you never get around to getting more Super Deluxe Tasty Dead Animal Foods.  Like if, say, suddenly the economy blows out its ass like it was about twenty-four hours away from doing in 2008.

( I understand some of that was hyperbole by the bankers to Get Paid, but understand that bankers don’t REALLY need the government as much as the government needs them.  There could very well have been lots of individual profiteering going on, but to think that any government bail-out, no matter how monstrously humongous, ever even comes close to the money central banks make from day by day credit and currency creation, as well as fractional reserve practices, is silly propaganda most likely pushed by the very banks themselves.  The public didn’t much care to hear of a single near trillion dollar bail out.  Can you image their reaction if they added up the centuries worth of looting? )

No one is asking you to live on wheat.  Good gravy and tar and feather me for even hinting at that.  I’m just saying, go look at your pathetic and sad food stocks, and imagine them being ten times what they are now, for less than the cost of a cheap guaranteed to blow up soon generic AR.  You add “real” food to that later.  If you can’t, you still survive handily.  If you can, after the crash use the wheat for barter or a post-apocalypse emergency food stash.  Wheat doesn’t go bad, unless you really work on it.  Everyone should have five to ten years worth of calories.  Armies clash and empires fall over food.  I don’t think you are placing enough emphasis on it.

Assuming you have already found a legal squat that is paid for or will soon be, because you can bet your last daughters virginity that the bankers will lose last and anything attached to debt is going to revert to them prior to the streets running with blood, I know you don’t have enough ammunition ( again, the average minion.  And since we are so much better than the average scumbag prepper, can you imagine the sorry state of their stores? ).  In order, food, debt free squat, then ammunition.  I know it is arbitrary but I look at five thousand rounds as a minimum for bolt actions.  Ten to fifteen for hard to load semi’s like the SKS.  Ten thousand for the Forever Gun arsenal.  If you don’t have a minimum of twenty thousand for a semi-carbine, you won’t be using it as envisioned ( spray and pray, African militia style, attributing magic to the mechanisms cyclic design because WAY more ammo and magazines is so much efficient and cheaper than a scope ).

And, I hate to disappoint you if you were thinking I’d come up with something else, that is about it.  You don’t need any kind of expensive equipment like a FLIR scope.  You don’t need to fill the roof with solar panels.  You don’t need a bigger tank for propane.  What you need are simply more basics.  More stashes and more caches and more of all the daily mundane boring stuff.  You could certainly survive the apocalypse without underwear, but why would you want to?  It is more sanitary and helps cut down on laundry as you can stretch out the time between cleaning outerwear.

You think you need solar panels and propane, but think about what that is doing.  It is just increasing the amount of supporting infrastructure you need for them, and keeping you from adopting renewable resources sooner.  The guideline should be, if it keeps you wallowing in luxury longer, it really isn’t a great idea.  Bad enough we are forced to keep firearms going past their pull date, but there is little choice.  You engage in that arms race or you die.  Not having 110 AC power won’t kill you unless you are on life support anyway, and if that is the case why are you hanging on?

The other issue with splurging on luxury items is that you’ve blown your wad on one or two items and at the end of the day, it simply doesn’t look like you’ve gotten anything for that rare windfall.  Buying a lot of smaller items seems to be more satisfying, consumption wise.  I know you want sexy.  Settle for practical.

WINDFALL

What would you do if you suddenly got a windfall?  I’m not talking some stupid ass fantasy of winning the lottery in which the odds are so bad you have a better change of being shot by Jihad Jerry than picking the lucky number.  I’m talking something far more realistic, like a tax return.  Or, perhaps even a bonus from work which would be something like cashing in the 401k, not through any generosity or attack of conscience on the companies part.  So, let’s call it two or three months salary to keep it realistic.  And while normally this is way too general of a subject, dependent on individual amounts  of preparedness, I think we can do some justice to the topic.

I also don’t think of this as unrealistic in the least.  Even if you know the windfall is coming, like if you checked “zero” on your deductible for your paycheck taxes, you can still treat it as manna rather than an extra paycheck that would just go to bills.  My last serious ( prior to ObammyCare taking them )  tax return I paid off the ex’s hospital bill, removing the last debt ever from hanging over my head, but that was worth more to me than all the prep gear in the world.  The one before that I paid off my land years in advance to give myself peace of mind.  I could have moved to another lot that was paid off, but the money was worth not having to dig another hole by hand for an underground shelter ( the cost of renting the backhoe would have been about the same, so why not own the lot? ).

I’ve even had a 401k cashed in and returned to me that I had no idea was coming.  You know, way back when companies still offered matching funds ( I don’t know if I even matched or they threw in something like fifty cents an hour on their own.  Still a mystery to me, as I never bought into the whole concept of trusting 401k’s to be long lasting ) and even offered reasonable health care.  Way back in caveman days before the housing bubble crashed ( that check I bought a bigger trailer while living in town.  Not absolutely necessary but it did reduce stress quite a bit, as that was about the time the ex started being very difficult to live with.  When we moved I gifted it to a poor family, so I got karma points ).

I’ve been “windfall” shopping since about 2005 or thereabouts.  I had just declared bankruptcy  one year prior to the new more restricted law being passed and implemented, thanks a lot corporate/banker whore politicians ( why not just let the companies take our land on a whim to make more profits.  Oh, wait… ).  Before, I had paid down debt every tax return.  After that, it was prep supplies every year ( besides the two years mentioned above.  The land payment was technically debt but I looked at it as an investment, and the ex going to the hospital was debt I shouldn’t have had but I signed something mostly asleep which I shouldn’t have ).  My “forever gun” arsenal was a windfall shopping trip one year, and doubling my rifle arsenal was another ( not to mention the several years of windfall wages at the casino ).

If you are new to this whole “piss your money away like everyone else but convince yourself it is of the utmost importance, unlike other peoples spending” ( AKA “prepping” ) game, you have no choice in the matter of how to spend the windfall.  You need food.  You can pretend that you need guns first, to protect the food you’ll eventually own, or you can pretend that you need a house to store your food in first, but you are rationalizing.  You can improvise weapons.  It only takes balls to trade up from a booby trap or spear or baseball bat or Molotov cocktail to a firearm.  And all the guns in the world aren’t going to help you if you don’t have any testicular fortitude.

And shelter?  What the hell, dude?  I understand you can’t bug out to the woods from your suburban abode carrying thousands of pounds of food.  I’ve had to sacrifice food just when I’ve moved from one area to another, and yes, it is painful as hell.  Insurance isn’t an investment ( insofar as it is an expense ).  You pays your money and it can save your life or it can be a waste, depending on circumstances.  Don’t rue the money spent regardless.  Look at it as an expense you must incur regularly.  That is what prepping is.  It isn’t buying gold or silver to sell at a profit, and it isn’t storage food to give to a tornado or hurricane victim as charity to bribe your way into heaven ( I‘m talking to you Glen Beck, you ignorant slut ).  It is a monthly expense, a tax for being less of a dumbass than most other people.

If you are worried about owning no safe home to keep your food in, you just need to bury your food.  Either in your backyard which you can return to so as to unearth a bucket at a time, or in the woods where you bury a bucket at a time.  Have a Mylar bag of wheat in your backpack, and an empty bucket hanging from the pack.  Explain it as a stool to sit on and to use for water and for if you find berries, or something.  Go camping every weekend and stash a bucket a trip.  Or, if you can drive close to your cache spot, you can have a bunch of buckets in the car hidden and then after dark ( so no one can see you ) you take them to the spot.  Investigate the best entrenching tools to use, and perhaps-PERHAPS!-you can justify some cheap night vision this way.  My point is, labor can always trump money to solve problems.

Food is first.  I KNOW you want your AR first.  I know that the desire is hotter than a thousand suns.  So is shoving your junk in the secretary at work, but I trust you can maintain some kind of discipline since you are married.  Okay, I get it, the wife is a prune face hag with droopy chesticles.  But you are a fat bald nerd.  A sweet young thing being interested in you means there is a price to pay.  The price for owning an AR before an adequate food stash is, wait for it, starvation.  Discipline yourself.  You call yourself a survivalist when you don’t have enough food?  Storing food is ultimately a losing strategy anyway, but since few of us can afford farms the very least you need to do is have many, many years of food.  Storage food is a vulnerability.  Not having enough storage food is far, far worse.

In short, these White Warriors For The Cause De Jour are embarrassing themselves with all this nonsense.  They are just the New Militia twenty years later.  Part of their recruitment drive is to deride any of their readers who are overweight and unmanly, failing to “PT”!  If they were macho men they would be eating lean foods and jogging and lifting weights, and if they aren’t doing so they in effect want their White daughters and wives to be raped by Muslims.  And you thought I was bad telling you to save money on FLIR scopes or you would starve to death soon.

Just like all their phobias and over the top jingoistic military bullcrap ( like two weight lifters in the gym blowing out their sphincter screaming at each other to “get some!” or “give me another one!”, vaguely homo don’t you think? ) mirroring their ill considered tribal dictates disguised as analytics or intelligence, this insistence on “Military Training, Sir!” is easily contradicted by facts.  Anyone can in fact work eight hour days with commuting for two and eating lunch for another, then come home and lift weights and practice their chop suey combat moves, but the vast majority do not.  They actually have a life just being providers.

What is the point of having a life with a family with you never spend time with them?  If the whole six hours left in your work day is spent Soldier Training, more than likely you will be saying goodbye to the wife who takes the kids, rather than eliciting any gratitude from her for training to protect her from The Evil Muslim Threat.

Not to mention that as we age, even with a vigorous physically active life, we can’t PT All Day Long, Nicky, like these idiots are advocating.  To answer that charge, they pull out some bio of a retired Army dude still running with a pack.  Ah, running, the militaries heart strengthening program that uses shot joints and arthritis as a future paycheck.  Sure, that makes lots of sense.  This doesn’t even factor in the fallacy of military training to fight warriors.  You know, different military doctrines.  The military advocates bring out Lind as somehow proof that we are training for forth generational war when all we are doing is training in the old second generation and calling it Forth by slapping on “counter” to “insurgency”.  While still centralizing command and control.

Jesus weeps.  What about our culture of non-violence codified into law.  How are you going to protect your White wife while in jail being butt humped by the predominant Black population?  If you are just training to be violent but avoid violence because you will be incarcerated ( a problem not shared by your Muslim buddies because if one goes to jail, the others in the tribe will protect and provide for you and yours.  A unity the Whites don’t have except in a few instances ), you are worthless in  a hypothetical fight against evil invaders.  It isn’t their training that makes them deadly, but their cultural organization that allows violence.  Whites don’t have that.  Your training is superficial, really usually no more than Toy Acquisition Rationales.

The guys the most adamant pushing this crap?  They are in effect being paid to do so.  Easy to PT and Train For The Fight when you are teaching others to do that with pay.  That is your job.  The problem surfaces when you have a real job instead.  And then must add on the training to be a White Warrior.  It just isn’t very realistic.  And need we even add the issue of decentralized combat cells?  If you join in the fight, you target yourself.  If you stay an Army Of One, no one knows and can’t turn you into the authorities.  If you do decide to fight Evil Invading Muslims ( and I’m NOT saying that isn’t a realistic worry ) or Liberals or Other Colors, do so all alone clandestinely.  Not with a group of buddies you trained with for the invasion.

I don’t know why I keep going back to the Western Rifleman ( actually, Western Rifle Shooters Association, but I shorthand ) site.  They are adamantly Evil Muslim paradigm and militia porn.  Now, as I’ve said before, I’m not saying that Muslims AREN’T against western civilization and want to kill us all.  They probably are and do.  After all, tribes are taking over from nation states ( the recent setbacks in Catalonia and Kurdistan and the like are just part of the dying process as the power of the state waxes and wanes ) and Muslims can be tribal at times ( although like Christianity it can splinter into infighting-follow the money ).  What I dislike about the religious like adherence to the fear is that it buys into the American Empire propaganda.

How much public treasure was wasted and blood shed over making the evil communists the new evil Nazi’s?  Just so that the military industrial complex was maintained?  Remember, it isn’t just because a few greedy corporations are screwing us ( and no, Liberal Lucy, socialism is not the answer, because then we end up with high taxes AND corporate greed, rather than just one or the other ).  Military spending literally got us out of the Great Depression and military spending became the economy.  Period.  And never stopped and won’t stop until the actual crash kills the central bank and the oil age.

When the Evil Empire, the Soviet Union went ahead and acted like big ol’ dinguses and collapsed ( which would be like repealing all gun control for the NRA or cancer getting cured for those Think Pink charities ), the military industrial complex was threatened.  What happens when vested powerful interests are threatened?  People die.  I love how the unthinking parrot the propaganda.  “Oh, we are mighty and righteous and we saved France and they owe us”.  No, sorry.  Hundreds of thousands of Doughboys died for JP Morgan.

We loaned the allies a lot of money ( just purely coincidentally I’m sure, from the just created Federal Reserve Bank ) and if Germany won, which they very well would have after the Russians stopped fighting, then all those loans would have been defaulted on.  We didn’t go to war to save France and Britain, we went to war to guarantee our war loans.  And we helped squeeze the German economy to pay back those loans.

Did we care that this set the stage for WWII?  Of course not.  More bank loans, this time to our government which was much safer, and more fighting.  The government actually exceeded the percentage of GDP in loans then than it has now ( the difference being we could afford the interest on the loan back then ).

We didn’t go to war to save France in WWII, we went to war to save the elite from going broke in the economic collapse they created to get more rich.  Ring a bell?  And we weren’t fighting their colonial war in Vietnam for any other reason than military spending was good for the economy.  We saw a economic contraction, we picked a fight in Vietnam.  Those fifty-five thousand deaths?  Hump you, conscript peasants.  You had to die to make the rich richer.  There were a lot fewer deaths than previously because saving other lives was also very profitable ( basically, “life flight” times tens of thousands ).

We fought for the economy, not for the “vulnerable domino in the way of the evil communists”.  We didn’t count on our energy supply and our economy contracting because of the war ( well, in step with the war, not because of it-the economy was in trouble which was why the war began ).  So, since then, no more conventional wars were affordable or even feasible.  Our nuclear umbrella wasn’t cheap, but it was the only way our broke asses didn’t get invaded.  You know, kind of like the North Koreans or Iranians think, strategy wise.  Since the economic crash during Vietnam, we only fight Small Wars ( it wasn’t because we lost.  We lost the Korean War.  Winning or losing wasn’t important, but how we paid for the game ).

Not fighting wars during the 90’s ( other than Somalia and Serbia, about par for the course compared to the late 70’s and the 80’s ) wouldn’t normally have been a problem, but we also weren’t fighting a Cold War, which cut down military spending.  We did start victimizing the domestic population, and spread out into bases in the former Soviet territories, but that wasn’t good for the long haul.  We needed a new Forever War.  So we got the Muslim War.  That was great the first decade, back to our wild spending ways ( must secure all soft targets domestically and at the same time fight in the Sandbox ).

And it is true there was a need to also save the economy after we wired the country with fiber optics and then the idiots at Pets.com and Enron and similar ( the precursor to FaceButt and Amazon and Google ) crashed the markets with zero valuation billion dollar companies.  It isn’t JUST always about the military, but the military spending as a means of creating demand in the economy.  When, again unthinkingly parroting the propaganda, people spew about us fighting another World War, they are on the right track insofar as military spending saves the economy every time growth is endangered, but they confuse desire with ability.

We couldn’t fight a conventional war since Vietnam due to our economic downturn and then our energy contraction.  And the same is even more true today when you add in our inability to pay for more loans to fight the war.  What we have in the middle east is a garrison force in combat, not a full size war.  We can’t afford those anymore, not easily.  And this doesn’t even account for our decline in return on this conflict.  Rather than merely military spending to goose an otherwise imploding economy, this time we are losing our ability to take on debt due to the declining participation in the PetroDollar.

In short, there is a supreme need to vilify and fight Muslims, as the very survival of our empire is on the line.  Continued tomorrow.

The November 11, 2017 “Market Watch” had an article on poor suffering Senior Citizens ( capitalized to denote their extra special status ) who were forced to live in RV’s and follow seasonal work.  Now, as you might recall, I have little love lost for geriatrics who act as if their poverty is my fault and I should pay more taxes to keep their narrow pasty asses in Viagra and upright on the golf course.  What?  Their lives weren’t good enough?  Sucking down cigarettes ( which I pay more taxes on because after their generation puffed away and got cancer now it is decided I’m not allowed to kill myself ) and swilling scotch by the gallon, living back when fast food was tasty and the cars were made of real steel, going to school for free instead of paying the equivalent of a house for an education.

And now, rather than having the good grace to die off naturally after a good life, they want to live forever.  You’re seventy years old and still working for Amazon during the Christmas season?  I should even live that long, OR have any jobs available.  Stop your sniveling.  Okay, I’m kind of joking.  Working at Amazon when you are fifty would be bad enough.  All day on the concrete slab?  Brutal.  But the article, which was an interview of the author of the book “Nomadland”, made pitiful sobbing sounds about Amazon paying these poor suffering dears more money.  Now you want ME to pay more for books?  A tax on my pitiful education since I can’t go to a real college since your generation of hump-wits screwed that one up by insisting everyone needed a degree ( rising demand, rising price ).

Amazon doesn’t pay enough at fifty percent above minimum wage?  Why are they even paying THAT much?  Remember what happened with Wal-Mart raising their damn wages near twice minimum wage?  They went from crap quality merchandise to add crap quality food, lobbied for increased Food Stamp recipients and were instrumental in getting their Kenyan immigrant to transfer their health care costs to the taxpayer.  What is WRONG with you people?

I wouldn’t buy that book if it was rubbed with 18 year old virgin crotch juice and sprinkled with cocaine ( why I felt I needed to stipulate that the female was of legal age but then threw in illegal drug use, I couldn’t tell you ).  The author was saying her personal perception was that only rich bitches got to tool around in expensive RV’s, but while researching the book realized there were definitely a few who were desperately poor living in the things and sometimes being unable to both fill up the gas tanks and afford heat for their tin boxes.  I’m not going to make fun of old bastards and their medical bills.  I’m not a complete monster.

But I will say, WHY?  You are paying rent in an RV park, and heat because you are living in cold ass Nevada or Kansas to work for Amazon.  Why not just go down south and live in Arizona over the winter.  You aren’t working, but you aren’t paying rent ( well, whatever the seasonal fee is for the stay, if anything-but only one sixth or one eighth the private park amount ) or heat.  Shouldn’t that about even out?  If you didn’t want to park with the other tens of thousands of Kunuk snowbirds, there is a private park ( featured in the YouTube channel “Cheap RV Living” ) that is a few hundred dollars for something like half the year.  You need to use their central sewage and water and have your own power.  It is just a piece of dirt with no hook-ups ( I think they have wi-fi ).  But at, whatever, $60 a month or something?

Of course, even better is the lot of junk land you buy and have only a one time series of payments.  If you are living Social Security check to check, you move out of the RV and park at Wal-Mart or out of town on the side of the road at the end of the month and take what would have been rent money and put $100 down on a chunk of E-Bay land ( granted, E-Bay kind of blows anymore.  Just do a search for where you want to live and plenty of other companies show up.  Private financing, a small down, they do all the paperwork.  Avoid Utah-those asswhores hate off grid folk and will harass you accordingly ).

If you have to wait for another check for gas money to get there, so be it.  Work one more month for extra cash?  Why not.  You’ll need some solar panels and water container and such.  But at least you are getting off the hamster wheel of rent and long distance travel.  How much nicer would it be to grow a garden and raise chickens?  Or do you like working menial jobs way past the point of retirement?  You are going to be poor either way.  Working and paying rent and spending $200 to fill up the tank to get to the next job or not working but having far less expenses.  Same differences.

You are falling for the old paradigm that working long and working hard rewards you.  Buzzz.  Wrong answer.  As we collapse further economically, the asset stripping moves up the food chain.  The poor are already screwed, liable to end up in jail after not being able to pay a fine.  The middle class lost their home equity and 401k pensions eight years ago.  The 9% Gatekeeper For The Elite are next, with none of their Make Work jobs secure ( the Elite will just skip town and move overseas ).  Do I have too much sympathy?  No, not really.  Everyone knows about the Great Depression, World War Two rationing, the 70’s Oil Embargo/Factory Move followed by high inflation, the 80’s Union Busting, the 90’s Asian markets collapse, the 2000 Tech Wreck, and Enron.  You thought you were safe?

Hell, I knew in the 80’s that 401k’s were dangerous when they rolled them out replacing corporate pensions.  It was all over the mainstream media.  Where was grandpa then?  Living in a cave?  Anyone with half a brain knew homes were extremely overvalued.  You didn’t need to be able to time the housing bubble crash to know equity was an illusion.  Okay, so they screwed up.  They trusted the system.  But STOP working for the same asswhores that screwed you over.  Actually retire.  Just learn to live a bit lower on the luxury scale.  And you.  Yes, YOU.  Why haven’t you bought a piece of junk land yet?

Anyone can buy tax delinquent lots of land for $500.  You don’t even need to buy desert land for thousands too much.  Like I did.  Learn from my ignorance.  Go to your county courthouse, or the next county over ( well, just look it up online nowadays ) and find out about land anyone can afford.  It might be next to a meth cooker, or a band of feral rednecks.  So what.  Don’t live there now if you don’t want to.  Just be ready to if you have no other choice.  This is your best economic collapse asset.  Better than gold or FLIR scopes or freeze dried foods.  Debt free living squat, safe from the out of control ravenous parasitic bankers.
