simplify or die 1 of 2

SIMPLIFY OR DIE
*
note: when I recommended the e-book "Zombie Apocalypse, The Coming Civilization Collapse" by Eirik Bloodaxe to you, it was $5 and worth it.  Now it is just $1.
However, do NOT under any circumstances buy any of his other titles.  The three others I bought were nearly worthless-just rehashes of the first.  The book on guns was especially bad, lacking anything other than generalized blather.  If anyone knows how to contact the author, I'd be happy to send him a free copy of a real post-apocalypse firearm book.
*
note: Top Ramen is $2.88 a case at Albertson's ( you might also try at Safeway as the two stores are one company ).  12 cents each is pretty hard to beat.
*
Back a bit when we were talking about returning to traditional mores, there was a lot of confusion.  When I stipulated that the tribe that returned first to traditional values, rejecting all those pretty glittery feel good unicorn fart new substitute practices like women’s lib and homosexuality and the like, they would gain an advantage over their adversaries, and I got quite a few “yeh, buts”.  Nothing wrong with that, our reconditioning has been taking place our entire lives.  Confusion is guaranteed.  It is natural to “qualify” any return to traditional values.  If anything becomes uncomfortable to the individual, we need to modify.  Kind of like the infamous dumbass-ness of “don’t ask don’t tell”.  But here is the thing.  If something was been the norm for tens of thousands of years throughout history amongst all cultures, it definitely has a survival value to the group.  Period.  We talked about that, and it confuses me why most people think they can quantify that.  I understand why you are confused, as per the above lifetime brainwashing, but I also can’t see why most folks don’t embrace the obvious when pointed out to them.

*

You would think this was a natural state of affairs, what with the decade long fight amongst my readers about semi-automatic weapons and the complete unsuitability of the Mosin-Nagant rifle and the passing of the rimfire era and the idiocy of fracking, and it really is.  I like it when nobody agrees with me as I must both sharpen my argument and collect more data ( not to say that it isn‘t frustrating ).  So, having confessed my confusion over your agreement, we’ll also accept it as the norm.  Heck, if you are just being contrary for its own sake I can applaud your efforts!  So, let’s approach this from another angle.  I’ve tried tradition as a survival tool, now let’s try simplicity as a helpful tool.  And by simplify, I mean black and white rules.  No exceptions, no hesitation and no confusion.  You want to say, but Jim, that would stifle creativity and expression and encourage drones.  In a way, yes, but you are looking at it like modern energy surplus luxurious Yuppie Scum.  In our current environment, we have the option of experimenting with culture and social mores.  Our petroleum surplus ( near three times what any other country is using ) provides a nice safe bubble to hide behind.  Traditionally, with barbarians at the gate, always, and famine one dumbass move away ( let alone from natural occurrences ), innovation and ignoring tradition were deadly.

*

But, sorry, back to simplicity.  Do you know what complexity in the law gives us?  Bill and Hilary Clinton.  Abe Lincoln and Barrack Obama.  Complexity allows manipulation.  More importantly, complexity encourages confusion.  Let’s look at an example near and dear to us.  Back when things were simple, a Peace Officer did one thing ( setting aside corrupt areas ) and that was keep the peace.  He didn’t care if you were smoking opium or diddling a whore, hurting your own horse or gambling all your money away.  He had one question-is this guy peaceful?  Now we have Law Enforcement Officers.  They enforce tens of thousands of laws.  The ones they can keep track of, anyway.  You aren’t safe around these guys, and for many reasons.  But one important one is, they don’t operate under a simple black and white paradigm.  You wonder why there are so many officer shootings?  Besides all the “oppressive regime” arguments.  One of the reasons, not the main one but still a factor, is that they themselves can’t operate under their imposed level of complexity and mistakes are going to be made as there is too much confusion and not enough time to sort out the mess.

*

Give a soldier a gun.  Tell him, “you can shoot if he tries to enter your area.  Period”.  That is simple, black and white.  The processing time the brain needs to decide to shoot or not is reduced to a minimum.  With LEO’s, it should be as simple as “officer safety”, but their operating parameters are too complex and in some instances that screws with the decision process.  Nobody is accusing anybody of being a retarded serf that needs the king to think for him.  The whole point of simplification is to minimize mistakes and confusion.  It is to “get everyone of the same page”.  Not on the same multi-volume library of laws, just the single page.  As soon as you increase the parameters of behavior past a simple binary equation, as soon as exemptions and add-ons and addendums are introduced, you’ve created complexity and confusion.

*

You used to allow, for instance, women to work in a strictly selected number of jobs.  Police matron, elementary school teacher, nurse and the like.  Women thought they were so abused staying at home and calving and milking.  Oh, the humanity, to fulfill ones biological function ( of course, it was still okay for the males to go fight and die to keep the home front safe )!  There wasn’t much confusion or paralysis until bitches and ‘hos wanted to be beat cops and firefighters and office managers.  Now, a show of hands of who thinks this worked out all that well.  Anyone?  You humped it up by allowing exceptions, by departing from the script.  First off, males and females don’t work well together, especially if the ladies are in charge ( obviously, wives rule the roost even if hubby is macho, and a professional nurse can tell a male administrator to piss off if wrong,  but here I speak of hierarchy in an organization for its own sake.  Not a master of their trade other than just being a manager ).  And secondly, incompetence shouldn’t be legislated away by compromising standards.  How is that good for social function?

*

I won’t go on and on about how screwed our society is after having ignored traditional cultural values.  We do that enough most articles.  My point was merely to point out how departing from simplicity snowballs into unwanted directions.  You want a good example of how a Black/White society has the advantage over a Complex Society?  Latinos taking over America and Muslims overwhelming Europe.  We’ll take up there tomorrow.

half and half 3 of 3

HALF AND HALF 3
*
note: thank you to the minion that recommended the movie "10 Cloverfield Lane".  I didn't think I'd like it very much, nor did I think the NOL would.  We both enjoyed it immensely!  Different and engaging.  I liked that you were left guessing even at the end.  Still available at RedBox.
*
note: on the shortening note, sorry for the confusion.  This is the CLOSEOUT price, not a sale.  Sometimes, with my new Old Dude vision ( needing reading glasses, things now blur up close with my distance glasses ) I miss stuff on signs.  I bought out the shelf full this morning.  Kroger is having sugar on sale ( why I went ) at 99 cents a four pound bag if you buy in multiples of 3, limit fifteen total.
*
Yesterday, I left off with the question, “if all you have are tangibles rather than cash, how do you handle unemployment or take advantage of fire sales?”.  As hyper-inflation seems the more likely outcome than deflation from overcapacity globally ( because of the insane debt as well as JIT inventories ), cash has been trash for quite some time, for a lot of us.  But just planning for inflation not only leaves you exposed to your coming unemployment ( ALL of us will be unemployed soon enough.  If you don’t count on that you are delusional ) it leaves you vulnerable to other Cash Only Needed emergencies.  I don’t see corporations selling too much below cost ( as discussed in a previous article ) and right now only certain items are being given up cheaply by individuals.  For instance, I’m in awe how most folks think their over-priced much lower quality car is actually worth multitudes of my yearly income.  I’ve seen mediocre autos with far too many miles on them being placed on sale for a price I wouldn’t pay for land and shelter ( of course, I prefer junk land and building myself, so my standards are a bit lower ).

*

But one day, everyone’s little delusional world is going to come crashing down and 99% of the assets they own will be recognized as being worthless.  Right now, a ‘60’s muscle car is a valuable collectors item.  In the decade following the Oil Embargo, V-8 engines were out of favor and gas guzzlers were selling for not much more than scrap.  You couldn’t get rid of the things.  How valuable is your tin box, after oil imports stop?  About as valuable as a BetaMax and an Atari game station.  How valuable are McMansion’s once utility bills soar and nobody can afford to climate control them, or drive from their suburban location?  There will be deals to be had at the right time, and cash will be like crack to a junkie.  Would you rather have cash, or another gun you had to sell to get cash?  You have cash, you might even be able to buy much more gun in the future than you can now.  I understand the reluctance to bet on this, and you shouldn’t, but as a back-up plan to an already stocked armory, perhaps?

*

Now, true, even with the recent cuts, it isn’t impossible to get government assistance with Food Stamps and such.  At least part of every family can get an Obammy paycheck or a job.  This holds things together for now.  But you can’t believe this will last indefinitely, can you?  There will come the day you are broke, jobless and unable to liquidate your assets as all others desperately try to do the same ( while your assets prevent you from getting any government bennies ).  It won’t be enough that you are out of debt and have a few months of expenses in savings ( AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY, do NOT trust those savings with the bank.  You haven‘t forgot about “bail-in‘s“, have you? ).  You’ll still need cash.  You don’t want to eat on your stockpiled food until during the collapse.  Not prior to it.  But you’ll need to if you don’t have savings.  Not to say you can’t have a pantry overstuffed with daily food to cut way down on what you need to buy, just that you will need some cash.  Do you really want to dig up your silver for paying property taxes, if the government is still in charge and has confiscated precious metals?

*

Nothing I’ve brought up is completely necessary.  You could put all of your cash into food now and have 90% of your calorie needs met for the rest of your life.  You could plan on selling your silver on the black market for paying your property tax.  You might just, plain and simple, prefer the piece of mind of not needing cash.  I don’t disagree with you, it is just that I have these nightmares of there being no jobs and no crash.  If your area became jobless, as so many have, and there was no other change as far as the population or government, you would still need cash to function in an otherwise normal society ( normal except for the lack of jobs ).  It seems implausible, but that is the reality we are living in now.  How many areas, absent Social Security, Unemployment and Food Stamps, would blow up and dry away because in reality only a quarter of the workers have a real job?  And without all those government checks, that figure would be too high since consumer spending allows retail establishments to survive.

*

No matter how you justify it, ONLY employing the Alpha Strategy is placing all your eggs in one basket.  That isn’t the greatest plan, regardless.  Just theft or a fire could wipe out a lot of your wealth, which then becomes a strategy on par with waiting until hyperinflation destroys your cash.  Again, I’m all for being cash-less.  I prefer it.  But it can’t be your only go-to move.  You need insurance and contingency plans.  As much as it pains me, because the future does get far more uncertain every day ( when the economy was humming along, this doomsday planning stuff was fun and easy.  Now that reality is setting in, it is just getting scarier ), it might be better to go Half And Half.  Take your disposable income ( I assume you are out of debt already and actually have some money left at the end of the pay period ) and keep buying those tangibles.  But take the other half and bury your bills as savings ( a wad of cash in a Zip-Lock bag in a plastic peanut butter jar avoids metal detectors and fire ).  At times, you’ll spend some of that.  Just keep adding to it later.  This ISN’T your emergency six months living expenses money.  That you already have elsewhere.  This is just your surplus savings.

*

Obviously if you have very few bills, this is easy to do even on very little income.  I’m paying half my income for rent and utilities, but since I have little more than food for bills, even then I can put something aside in savings.  It gets discouraging at times.  Suddenly, here comes the annual web site fees.  Or, I need to replace a failed bike part.  Or, it is past time to invest in more lumber and insulation for my retreat building.  Or, property tax comes due.  Everyone is always nibbling at your savings.  But if all you do is buy tangibles, even on almost no bills, you run into money problems.  Don’t give up stockpiling, just recognize the need to diversify.

half and half 2 of 3

HALF AND HALF 2
*
note: I've taken to using the Zote laundry soap as my bath/hand bar soap.  Cut it is quarters and it is 3.5 ounces a bar verses Ivory generic 3.1 ounce a bar.  Cost is 25 cents each verses 34 cents.  And it smells better.
*
Yesterday, we didn’t even talk about the Petro-Dollar.  You know, I know, and Ross Perot knows that the PetroBuck is already on its decline/collapse stage.  The only reason the US didn’t collapse economically like the Soviet Union did after its Peak Oil was because we convinced/connived the House Of Saud to price their oil ( and, at the time that also meant the rest of OPEC also ) in dollars in exchange for military protection.  In effect, from that point onward all the nations that wanted to buy oil had to buy our Treasury Bonds first, and use them as the currency to purchase petroleum ( there is nowhere near enough paper currency to do the same and I would wager that keeping larger bills out of circulation had more to do with keeping cash out of the hands of oil buyers rather than drug dealers ).  In effect, all other nations had to offer real goods to buy our debt.  They weren’t buying our debt because they thought it was a good investment but because it allowed them to trade for middle east oil-the less polluted, less energy intensive to process, sweet light crude.

*

Well, that happy little arrangement can only work for so long.  Somewhat because the Saudi’s are running out of oil, but mostly because while the American people are largely ignorant and continue their jingoistic orgasm, the rest of the world has already been put on notice that our military has become largely impotent.  Not important-impotent.  The Saudi’s are already forced to do our previous job of protecting themselves, largely through terrorist support and other clandestine activities, but also by sending boots into other countries.  Why do they need us again?  At this point, they are only paying protection money, hoping to delay their capital from being turned into radioactive glass.  But there are two things that will end that.  Actual protection from another superpower, or their country erupting in revolt ( to include their refinery being destroyed ).  Do you think either one isn’t possible very soon?

*

Once no other country needs to buy our debt to buy oil, our dollar becomes instantly worthless.  At most, we continue getting about two million barrels a day from Canada ( Mexico has seem such a drastic reduction in output that they are barely a factor anymore ).  Add that to our domestic five and we are still suddenly seeing less than half the oil we presently use.  I would be worrying about this a LOT more than I’d stress over an EMP or solar flare.  It is guaranteed to happen, whereas losing our grid instantly has a lower probability of occurring.  The timing is, as in all other collapse scenarios, the only question.  Most of the issues with EMP’s could conceivably be attributed mostly to Yuppie Scum Survivalists and their wishful thinking that a debt jubilee is possible.  Losing the Petro-Dollar is a lot closer to reality.

*

The above seems to make a case for inflation.  After all, once fuzzy foreigners no longer get stuck with our inflation, how is our economy going to cope?  Inflation is nothing more than more credit being added to the economy, each dollar being diluted with more.  The government and the central bank LOVE inflation.  We are surely going to get more of it, right?  Such has been my reasoning.  Yet, even there we are going to see a caveat.  Going back to the desire of our central bank to limit the paper currency on hand, in effect forcing other nations to buy our debt if they wanted oil ( which is THE lifeblood of all modern economies and most countries ), there is a huge amount of credit in our system and almost no circulating paper money.  The government doesn’t print much more than replacement levels of currency already in existence.  In the event our banking system and credit infrastructure starts breaking down, that is bad enough.  Everyone buys on credit, from the farmer planting crops to the trucker buying fuel to transport that food.  That would almost be guaranteed to crash our system.  But on top of that, there would not be enough paper currency on hand to facilitate trade anyway ( just as in the medieval economy where there wasn’t enough silver or gold and barter was the only way to pay ).  This might be deflationary.  Not that I would count on it, as our current system is urban population fed by long distance transport, all sustained by oil, but you never know.

*

Again, all this would underline the likelihood  of inflation over deflation.  And most likely that is good enough as far as your planning.  When I vacillate between inflation and deflation, what I’m really guessing at is the future utility of cash verses goods.  Not really the same thing.  “Deflation” is really just short hand for “need cash” and “inflation” is just short hand for “trade in cash for tangible items before it becomes worthless”.  With that distinction made, I think our argument makes far more sense.  Should I be “mattress stuffing” or should I be “alpha strategizing”?  Should I be hoarding cash money or should I be buying as much consumer goods as I possibly can?   I was always assuming that goods were far more valuable than paper because paper always, in the end, goes to zero value.  But as I’m looking around me, surrounded by consumables for both before and after the collapse, I can’t help but start to get really nervous.

*

You can’t eat gold, nor can you eat currency.  But you also can’t survive in today’s world without some gold or cash.  The county won’t take cases of Top Ramen for property tax ( head on down to Kroger as they are having a great case sale right now.  Peanut butter is a buck a jar in case quantity and Top Ramen $3.50 a case.  No longer the Too Cheap To Care ten cents but as close as it gets these days.  Did you listen the last time I told you Albertson’s had Top Ramen on sale?  It was even cheaper ).  If ALL your spare Trading Units are in tangibles, how safe are you during unemployment or other calamities?  How can you buy fire sales?  More tomorrow.

half and half 1 of 3

HALF AND HALF
*
note: I would be VERY cautious about buying stockpile batteries from Family Dollar.  I've bought and hoarded AA and AAA's from dollar stores for a long time.  I rotate them and have never had a problem even after two or three years.  The other day I opened a pack from Fam$ that still had 16 months to go to expiration ( and which I had bought less than a year ago ).  They had NO juice in them at all.
*
note:
ATTENTION!!!ATTENTION!!!! Incredible.  Rush down to Kroger NOW this very day and stock up on shortening.  I don’t know if it is a sale or the new everyday price.  But a tub is only $1.79!!!!!!!!  No other grocery comes close to being so low in price, especially not Wally.  In a nice thick plastic tub ( although the top is a bit flimsy ).  You need fat in your post-collapse diet and even if shortening isn’t that good for you, being without is worse.  Do NOT plan on burning your body fat to supplement your diet.  Go!  GO NOW!!!!!  Old price, close to $3.  Still the best bargain around.  But at the new price, you buy NOW!  Even if you only use it for barter.
*
I’ve mentioned not too long ago that I was on the fence as to whether inflation was as assured as I had imagined.  All my life I’ve lived under inflation, as have you, as well as being completely convinced hyper-inflation was our End Game.  As have you all, I’m sure.  Now, for some decades the Deflationists have tried to debunk this convention and I’ve never really bought into their arguments.  They use the historic Russian Dude economic cycle, the Numbered Waves demographic theory, and everything in between.  The problem with their arguments is that they believe the last 500 years of hyper-Western wealth is the norm when all it is was an aberration of resource extraction unable to be duplicated ( for a time, even in the face of US Peak Oil followed by global per capita energy use decline, the optimists even argued that colonizing space was a way to Pretend To Extend; a very shallow and embarrassing current example is the FrackTards ) ( if you go back further and track the supply and prices of basic feed grains, overpopulation and solar cycles point to inflation as a much better guide ).

*

It is hard to find an example of an empire that didn’t end in hyperinflation.  Inflation didn’t cause their collapse but was a symptom of resource contraction.  When you have the choice of giving up power and wealth today, sparing the citizens the wraith of total economic collapse, or holding on as long as you can even if you end up making things far worse, everyone always picks the immediately less painful option.  You could probably find some examples to refute that statement, perhaps bringing up British Empire.  True, they went with the Druid Dude Collapse Option and signed up for a long slow relatively uneventful collapse so that from a century ago controlling a good size economy and real estate to today having a national budget not too far away from just one of the US states, but this ignores, once again, the last five centuries.  The same bankers that introduced the successful “central bank funded empire” in England had control of most of the Western countries economies at one time or another during the colonization period and can be almost considered one empire rather than several.  One area was drained of resources and the elite moved on, the local population suffering but the infrastructure stayed reasonably intact.  Spain hyper-inflated but was unique in that rather than fiat currency, they flooded the economy with precious metal.  Of course there was other inflationary times, but one would hesitate to call these empires.  The less of a “real” empire an aspiring group was, the less likely they kept a stable currency and the less likely that they were under the bankers control.

*

My point is, you can quibble over which empire did or didn’t end in hyperinflation.  Most likely all your examples are recent.  But if you go back past carbon fuel inputs, I would say my contention is valid.  Once resources diminish past the growth/infrastructure maintenance stage, the money supply is given a rough sodomization.  It is one of the last ways to kick the can down the road.  So I find it hard to argue inflation won’t happen.  Some economists try to have it both ways.  They claim that we will have a period of strong deflation until hyper inflation kicks us in the ass.  Others point to our duel economy, where necessities are inflating and optional goods or services are deflating.  This makes a certain amount of sense.  If you think you need a house, prepare to fork over half your income for all your life.  If you think you need health care, give up your other half.  That doesn’t leave much for food or transportation.

*

Deflation isn’t seen in falling prices, as that is impossible under our current mega-corporation fascist rĂ©gime.  The federal government isn’t the only organization that knows how to trade in the future for an extension on life support.  Everyone that is anyone borrows extreme amounts of money to keep their corporation running, and the difference between what they pay on their loans and what the small fry do determines who stays in business.  Why do you think you pay $20 for a pizza?  Because of the ingredients?  The cost of minimum wage labor?  Of course not.  It is to service the debt the corporation used to crush its competitors.  And I’d even wager that the company would lose money on that pizza if they suddenly had to pay 3% interest on their loans rather than 1%.  That is how screwed up the economy is.  But it also explains why prices can’t fall even in the face of falling demand.

*

Deflation is only seen in the lower level of price inflation.  On Obummer’s watch, our national debt doubled.  It actually quadrupled if you factor in the other national central banks we bailed out eight years ago, but since the over quadrillion dollar derivatives market will implode the whole global economy I don’t think that decision alone is too much to worry about.  But with all that liquidity added to the global economy, our prices should be a lot higher.  Food should have more than doubled or tripled, for instance.  Since all that new money has basically gone into stemming the banks bleeding out ( creating assets they lost in the ‘08 crash ), the consumer economies haven’t really seen the inflation they would have.  But we don’t have a classic deflationary period either.  Just be thankful prices aren’t much higher.  Yet, we are still seeing massive unemployment and imploding consumer demand due to a classic overcapacity globally.  This is why deflation has made any appearance at all.

*

So, what is it going to be?  Deflation as nobody works and most factories are idol?  Or inflation as countries and empires have no other way of paying their bills ( there is no way China will ever have enough gold compared to its spectacular debt-they have joined the West in inflating away their currency-a race to the bottom )?  Continued tomorrow.

frugal survival digest addendum

FRUGAL SURVIVAL DIGEST ADDENDOM

I just noticed that Wal-Mart has $99 shotguns again.  Before, I stated that your cheapest firearm choice was a $199 generic ( well, “starter” might be a better choice as Mossburg puts it out ) shotgun.  You could still get right at about $500 total for the complete plan with this firearm, but it was an effort in skimping.  But I’ve always thought far more highly of a break-open than a pump.  Simplicity, price savings and ammunition conservation.  I know you will all throw up your hands in disgust at the thought of not being unable to strut around weighed down by multiple bandoleers of shot shells, blasting at any noise with a full tube of ammo, terrorizing all who dare question your technological and logistics superiority, but this is called reality survivalism, not Yuppie Scum Prepping.

*

Now, to be honest, Wally might have never dropped the single shot at this price.  I just might not have noticed it.  But in either case, there you go.  A cheaper alternative.  A $400 survival plan rather than a $500+ one.  That could make a difference to a lot of folks.  Or, spend the same amount but add to it.  For less than the price of a FLIR, now being excitedly pushed by Rawles while on sale for $599, you could have a year supply of food, a water filter, a firearm and ammunition, lighting and a knife with sharpener, AND the down payment on a junk land lot in the boonies.  Which do you think is better?

economics and finances 3 of 3

ECONOMICS AND FINANCES 3
*
note: there will be a bonus article tomorrow.  Too short for a weekday post, too long for a note.
*
Okay, so you understand that if you ditch the car for muscle powered commuting ( I’ve almost never owned a car in 33 years of working.  It isn’t too difficult.  Move, settle, get a job nearby.  I’m actually confused why folks have such a hard time conceiving of a car-less life ) you have both saved a HUGE amount on your budget and improved your health.  As your health improves, you don’t need health insurance and that saves ANOTHER quarter on your budget.  Once you handle the rent/debt part, you are suddenly going from in the red every payday on $30k a year to having mad money every payday on under $10k ( it is important to earn under this amount to avoid that vicious prick Obammy’s Health Insurance Tax.  Talk about a regressive tax, mine doubles as soon as I earn one dollar over that amount.  For the whole thing, not just the amount over ).  You can whine all you want about circumstances and Wifely Pressures ( and not in a good way-ha!  Get it? ) and I’m not discounting your problems.  Just saying this reality will kick you in the ass soon enough whether you want it or not.

*

Now you are going to have to eat more healthy.  It isn’t hard or difficult or expensive.  The “experts” make it out to be so, but they are flaming retarded douche-bags bent on separating you from your money.  You SHOULD eat organic, but you can’t.  You SHOULD never touch unhealthy foods, but you have to.  You SHOULD support locally grown and avoid pesticides and GMO’s, but all that is a rich bitch’s game ( no one is saying you can’t grow some of your own, I’m merely stating that other than a healthy salad or vegetable dish every day, the huge majority of your calories are going to have to come from the BigIndustrialAg monopoly ).  It is just like exercise.  You can’t Be Perfect.  Stop listening to experts and trust in some common sense.  Experts want your money, so their advice should be suspect.  You think the gym owner will tell you to jog and lift your own set of weights?  Does a barber tell you that you don’t need a haircut?  Will a doctor tell you that you don’t need a surgery.  Or drugs?  Come on!  A yoga instructor will swear on the Holy Mother Gaia that if you take her class you will live to 100 in peace and harmony and be able to fellatio yourself ( only the last part might be true ).

*

Just do the best you can, try to constantly improve your diet, use processed foods sparingly ( try to do as much as possible from scratch, but don’t go crazy.  Store bought pasta is fine, but not a frozen chicken nugget-the pasta doesn’t have 23 ingredients you can’t pronounce, nor fillers, nor food coloring and flavor enhancements ) if at all.  Drink that water ( it does an amazing job of eliminating a lot of issues ).  If you think vitamins are a good bet ( I mega-dose on Vitamin C and am always either not getting the crud that goes around or getting a very mild version.  Hint, take it PRIOR to getting sick, not during.  You must build your immune system before hand ), take them as long as you don’t get stupid about it.  You may not be able to avoid all white flour or white sugar, but try to minimize.  Whole grains are gross at first but after a time your body will crave them.  Fresh veggies are more important as an enzyme source than for vitamins ( most soil is denuded and dead and most crops today are nutrient deficient ) so don’t skip them ( but don’t go crazy eating too much, either.  Anything out of Michelle Obammy’s mouth is a friggin lie. Why eat that many servings of produce if they are so vitamin poor? ).

*

Don’t be stupid about diet fads.  A 5% body fat vegan is unhealthy.  Only eating protein will screw up your body.  Too many vitamins will give you at a minimum unwanted side effects.  Hell, too much water in too short a time is unhealthy.  Moderation, people.  Moderation, common sense and discipline rather than fanaticism.  You have to be your own doctor and you will learn what your body wants.  Once you get off the Twinkie and soda diet, and lose that fifty pounds that did nothing but cover your crotch as a slab, your body will “talk” to you about what it needs.  Just like a pregnant woman.  Listen to it.  You still need doctors for traumatic injuries but almost anything else you can do better than they can anyway.  For instance, I would NEVER under any circumstances get chemotherapy.  Do you honestly believe that placing pure poison in your body in a vague hope of eradicating some cancer cells before the poison kills you off entirely is a great idea?  It is a great idea-for the doctors and companies pushing the cure.  For you, more often than not, you die on the same time frame but in much more agonizing pain.

*

Chemo is just the worst example of unHealth Care we receive.  I don’t trust most of the pharmaceuticals they push, nor do I care for their caviler attitude in prescribing them ( just like a car mechanic, they guess which part is defective and hope they are replacing the right one.  Repeat until success.  The difference is, a car is a lot less intricate than your body and every drug given you masks symptoms and causes its own problems, more often than not ).  And now, to add to that, walking into a hospital is playing Russian Roulette with the super germs they are breeding.  My whole attitude is: if I didn’t break a limb or suffer a heart attack ( or, perhaps, if a strange growth is on my junk or a testicle swells up insanely ), stay out of the hospital ( and the heart attack would only send me there if I was unconscious and others decided that was what I needed ).  I’ll live longer and in better shape.  Why do I need health insurance?  To give half my income to the banking industry?  Suck my hairy rectum, Bankster Scum.  Nobody is trying to help me by suggesting I need health insurance or health care.  They just want all of my money, for the rest of my life.  I’ll roll the dice and go without.  If I die, what do I care?  I’m dead.  And it is going to happen sooner or later anyway.  Why do people act so spastic about death?  You think you are so valuable we all need you around longer?  Not hardly, dude.  With seven billion to pick from, we can get a better replacement.  Deal with it.

economics and finances 2 of 3

ECONOMICS AND FINANCES 2

Yesterday I covered attitude.  If you have the wrong one, you’ll forever be in debt and will have a very hard time of an economic collapse ( good luck with that Overnight Collapse because a closet full of AR-15’s is not going to pay the rent very long and then you’ll never replace them since at a minimum expect Semi Gun Control, so in effect you’ve eaten your seed corn ).  It is much easier to earn less than more, even in “normal times”.  In tough times, good luck keeping a job to keep paying on all that debt.  And just WANTING to get out of debt is worthless.  The 350 pound guy spent half his adult life WANTING to lose weight ( and the other half eating McDonalds ).  As Forrest says, stupid is as stupid does.  I’m not calling you stupid for getting in debt, merely for not doing the hard work to reverse your situation.  If I could support a current and an ex-wife on minimum wage while getting a retreat, any one can.  Just gotta wanna.

*

Now, I hope that settles that, because while I’ve spent considerable time in the past talking about shelter downsizing and the idiocy of owning a motor vehicle, today I’ll cover the forth aspect of living within your means ( first was no rent or mortgage, next was no car, then no debt ) which is medical insurance and doctors.  I know I’ll hear a lot of guff on this.  Most folks have poor genes from poor breeding practices of their parents, then eat mostly poor food and are now in the position that they need medical insurance/coverage and aid.  If that is you, I’m sorry.  It is hard enough for folks to realize they can’t own a nice house, nor a nice car, nor be able to shop non-stop at the mall on a whim ( hell, I love books more than I love most people, and even I wasn’t going to waste money shopping at the mall for them beyond the very occasional trip into stupidity ).  It is quite another when they hear that they are An Evolutionary Dead End.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  I’m certainly not blaming you.  Perhaps you were a vet and the Feds hate you and want you to die faster.  Perhaps you got runned over by a reindeer.  Not everyone can help how they ended up.  But here is the reality.  Obammy-Care is just the beginning of the end.  The medical industry is in trouble and you can’t expect to get coverage for too much longer unless you travel out of the country ( and even then, that won’t last much longer than recreational travel does ).

*

This is what a collapse looks like, folks.  Everything falls apart.  The foul condition of the medical industry was highlighted by Obammy-Care, but all that did was hurry along the condition towards terminal.  The fact is that ALL our institutions are failing rapidly.  Just looking at the elections should prove that.  They no longer care if we know the thing is rigged, nor do they care that we know the candidates are completely unqualified.  Hell, Nixon would be better right now than a walking corpse that is only still alive due to the obligations towards it by Satan or a rich bitch waiting to get his other hand in the cookie jar which are our choices now.  Look at our military-we will soon be fighting with zero functioning equipment ( between contractors acting like Mafia concrete companies pouring substandard school foundations, to cannibalizing spare parts despite all time record budgets ) and zero functioning personnel as the females and transgender types turn everyone into kinder and gentler non-violent PC Army Troops which will in comparison make the Italian military in WWII look positively ferocious.

*

Why are you surprised you will soon lose your medical?  You WISH it was going to be socialized, as then you would at least have a little coverage.  But that costs too much and the bankers don’t care about you unless you deliver them a profit.  No, you might as well just bite the bullet and start changing your attitude and circumstances to reflect the soon to be failing medical industry ( it is already failed, reflected by being in debt for a lifetime if you avail yourself to it, and the fact you might die if you do, due to the pharmaceutical people killing you for profit-by failing I mean unavailable ).  You know you can’t remain employed too much longer, so ditch the mortgaged property.  You know between the PetroDollar  ending and the local governments completely cutting out road maintenance once the next budget crisis occurs, you need to get rid of your car before it can no longer be used ( and you know the feds can, at will, change your auto debt to make it non-dischargeable ).  You know that debt can only drag you under the quicksand.  And you know you must take responsibility for your health NOW, before the hospitals close.

*

Again, I know some of you are stuck relying on our modern medical industry.  For you, you had better have a Plan B to alleviate the suffering you will withstand.  The rest of you, stop being a pussy.  Everyone having affordable competent medical care is only three or four generations old.  Prior to that, you took care of yourself through hard work and good eating and folk remedies and a willingness to tough out the minor things.  Or, you died anyway.  That is what is called reality.  Every one of the seven billion of us on this planet is, I’m most positive, the very most special snowflake and extremely convinced they alone are Baby Jesus’ ( or Baby Buddha or Baby Mohammed’s ) personal favorite.  Alas, there are not enough resources for even a fraction of them.  If Baby Jesus loved everyone, the Earth would indeed be filled with a center of petroleum, enough to feed 100 billion AND give them each a personal flying car ( or, he loves us all anyway-me more than others of course-but can’t help what idiots we are and is telling us to lie in our own bed ).

*

Get in shape.  I’ve recommended giving up the car and biking everywhere, because that is both the easiest and cheapest AND will save you a butt ton of money.  But you don’t want to hear that.  You love your car.  You would hump the tail pipe if it were more elastic.  And I’m positive your SUV is filled with chainsaws and semi-automatics.  Well, however you do it, exercise.  That is the best thing you can do to help your body.  When I moved into town I kept up a partial bike ride to my country property ( twice a week round trip rather than five days ).  But after a time I got lazy.  Yes, work was kicking my ass, but I can’t discount a certain lack of effort on my part.  Well, after a year of barely pedaling, I was feeling like warmed over fecal matter.  I was lifting massive amounts of weight every day, but getting no cardio.  I was short of breath doing anything, but especially when I was trying to service the Old Lady.  So I forced myself to start exercising again ( a half hour a day on the bike pushing hard in town on flat roads.  A half hour was working better than an hour and a half on rutted roads and hills because I wasn’t moving so slow ).  Not only did I not lose my wind as easy after a mere week of exercise, I wasn’t as sore at night from lifting, nor did I take as many naps.  Plus, even if I went into work hating it, just having exercised gave me a lot more energy than coffee alone and I had an easier time accepting the crap they shoveled my way ( the stress was not minimized, but I didn‘t have the usual blood pressure spike ).

*

I’ll continue tomorrow.
