A metal storage container with smaller windows, or bars on the windows, followed by “This facility is protected by” (Insert security firm of your choice stickers). I remember that Radio Shack at one time sold the stickers that contained a flashing LED, indicating (falsely) an active alarm on the premises.

A stern warning sign, such as the one in the link below:

http://www.militariapress.com/page/militariapress/PROD/WS16

Though I'm not sure of the legality of such a message in todays political climate? Perhaps something a bit tamer, but none the less deadly, along the lines of:

“Warning, this facility contains toxic chemicals that are know to cause severe health problems and/or death”.

Or: “Warning, this lot is under surveillance”. And make good on it. The trail cams are becoming more affordable, and while they may not stop a crime in the first place, the above may be just enough of a deterrent for the nervous criminal, or provide enough evidence leading to the capture of the bolder of their ilk?

I suppose that the underground cache is the best way to go, though a bit of work is required. Keep the bare minimum above ground, and a small amount of goods that are not as well hidden for easy access.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-50586465840237072582014-06-27T16:06:38.329-07:002014-06-27T16:06:38.329-07:00Okay, that got me grinning! But a big loud dog also works well, best of all is Lord Jims brilliant suggestion of the obvious- Human eyes on site. And as the collapse accelerates and the rule of law breaks down those eyes backed up by fire arms, and defensive structures. What ever you can do to see the unwanted visitors coming before they see you, to look mostly valueless if you are seen at all, and to look just dangerous enough to be not worth fighting.
