An inch the tip of the thumb to the first knuckle? Was the yard the length of an arm? Too long, not remembering it too well. But, yes, fascinating. I didn't know about August. I find the subject fascinating. Reminds me of a book I read about the history of the Calender. August having 31 days because Augustus Caesar's ego meant that he had to have more days allocated to the month named after him than an earlier Emperor.

But really, for me the interest is that the measurements were based on things.

Damn you guys, unless I get sidetracked (strong possibility) I'm going to have to chase down that book (after I find "how to disappear" for ANON from the other day) Dingonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-7836700677747399562019-02-28T15:19:37.860-08:002019-02-28T15:19:37.860-08:00Please don't try to teach us English, because ...Please don't try to teach us English, because Metric System. :DJames M Dakinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382139289994087931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-84940141640081519122019-02-28T15:17:44.843-08:002019-02-28T15:17:44.843-08:00Not a bad thought, let me see if it sticks and fes...Not a bad thought, let me see if it sticks and festers.James M Dakinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382139289994087931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-25378355439153732152019-02-28T13:16:43.296-08:002019-02-28T13:16:43.296-08:00Perhaps that concept could be the basis of an arti...Perhaps that concept could be the basis of an article series - ask minionites to email you with a brief description of the event(s) that woke them up to their need to prep, then do a compilation & analysis.

Just a thought... These cattle people maintain no reserve inventory in the homes. Shop for food items of vastly perishable items multi times a week. Many live literally off of food provided by others, (employer cafeteria, fast food, ordering out, etc) rather than storing or preparing their own. It will at least be equal opportunity starvation and forced genocides across all spectrums of the remaining society. This ain't going to end well. I had my own SEE back in 1983 when a scheming (now ex-) wife and her secret boyfriend abruptly changed my world from a comfortable middle-class, three bedroom/two bath home, lifestyle to one of living out of my car in winter...all in the space of a few days. From that point on I was a prepper, determined to never go through that abrupt transition again. I wouldn't want to repeat the experience, but I'm very grateful for what it taught me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-19118956692999233902019-02-28T07:48:38.964-08:002019-02-28T07:48:38.964-08:00You won't thank me once you see how long the d...You won't thank me once you see how long the damn series is :) Don't worry, I inject other subject articles in between chapters. There will be many examples of average folks taking the gloves off, they will no longer tolerate external pressures by any others upon the resources, territory, and certainly food. By having a Rawanda times Bosnia shakeout there will be metric ton buttloads of death occurances to prevent people (mouths) from competing for the rations.
