But of course, purchased protection has its limits when people have nothing left to lose and are filled with hatred for their targets.
Running and hiding are the only options for the targets then. But run to where? And how can one hide while not changing their lifestyle?
I think there are some rich who will pull through, but most of them are already going grey and running for cover. I can't tell the timing better than anyone else but it does seem like the last three to five years they stepped over the return on investment threshold and now nothing works but merely accelerates the problems, so you would think it can't be long now.James M Dakinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382139289994087931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-57206835196714011652017-07-31T06:57:41.639-07:002017-07-31T06:57:41.639-07:00A few SPOOLS, and you'll still run out. Now at 59 I'm jaded, fat, slow and much much smarter. While I can't change the course of history, I can help my grandkids get a few useful skills and attitudes. Better than nothing, if not nearly enough.

The slow collapse has been kinda boring, so I've gone ahead and had some fun. Fast collapse gets all the attention as it's a great starting point for survival fantasy fiction. In reality it's never fun at all.

However, the problem with slow collapse is that it grinds everything into dust. There's nothing left to rebuild with. At least a fast collapse leaves a few resources behind for the rebuild.

I've been amazed at how many rabbits have been pulled out the hat so far. Also impressed by those who've been able to get others to suffer the consequences and pay the bills. While I can't guess when it'll all fall apart, I headed for hills decades ago.
