Bison, thank you for sha...re:
diet, grains, stims

Bison, thank you for sharing your history. Times like these give me an opportunity to reflect.

2011, I was at my heaviest, 215# with a 40# face. Not a pretty sight. Because I didn't know better, everything in our home was the Standard American Diet aka 'SAD'.

SAD:
Grains, corn chips, rancid oils, dairy, legumes such as peanut butter. All that and worse, all of it inflammatory.

2011, my body was a wreck. Arthritis, allergies, asthma, brain fog, tooth decay. Glasses to read. Headphones to hear a telephone conversation. "Huh? Say again? Quit mumbling!"

One day, I quit grains and dairy. I dropped 30# in thirty days. It was all water, edema from inflammation.

With this success, I experimented with eliminating other, less obvious, problems in my diet. Omega 6 oils such as sunflower safflower soy corn. Corn syrup and sugars such as grains and alcohol.

Another 20# vanished.

I discovered a name for the goal I wanted == Paleo Primal.

Using this template, I maxed my veggies with small amounts of animal protein.

Since about 2012, my plate is two-thirds veggies with a palm-size amount of meat / fish... breakfast included.

I aim for fifteen servings of veggies daily. To achieve this, my day starts with veggies.

My favorite breakfast:
Simmer a skillet of bone broth, add leftover veggies to warm. Crack in three duck eggs to poach. Sprinkle with a pinch of pink rock salt.

I also switched from white 'table salt' to Himalayan pink salt and Keltic sea salt. These include supportive minerals with the real salt. As I understand it, table salt is manufactured with harsh chemicals (cyanide?, corn flour?), causing extreme contraction of blood vessels so they can quickly eliminate the poisons. This spikes blood pressure. Instead of eliminating the cause, your friendly neighborhood allopath prescribes additional poisons to counter the original poisons. This system is whack.

I eliminated stims. No caffeine! The veggies seem to bypass the need for artificial stimulants. Friends and family say I am focused yet mellow.

After I heard the problems with blue light from LEDs, I reduced my screen time on the computer. My mom had macular degeneration, and was as good as blind for her final decade. Since she was the adult, she refused to believe diet influences health.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I'm willing to give it a try. All the money in the world isn't worth poor health, blindness, and an early death.

Since 2016, I only eat:
Fresh local seasonal organic.

My oils:
Coconut, olive, avocado, and lots of them.

By substituting veggies for empty fillers such as grains, I have no cravings for sweets or stims.

I sound like I'm preaching. I can only say... this works for me and mine.

Our dogs are Paleo, too.

Some say organic is expensive.
I cannot afford to consume the tons of petroleum-based pesticides and fertilizers we dump on crops.LargeMargehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01530497760743766465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-76158124504356218232018-12-20T12:56:04.185-08:002018-12-20T12:56:04.185-08:00Or, hell, even just experience ( no more fearing t...Or, hell, even just experience ( no more fearing the unknown ).James M Dakinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382139289994087931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-32853179048824608982018-12-20T11:53:25.632-08:002018-12-20T11:53:25.632-08:00You bet yer arse on thatYou bet yer arse on thatWrenchr2https://www.blogger.com/profile/03970779022776650104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-27956640365693394642018-12-20T11:26:28.262-08:002018-12-20T11:26:28.262-08:00"I'm overthinking it and I'll die sho..."I'm overthinking it and I'll die shortly". It's JUST food. Get a hobby, something substantial enough to occupy ALL of your mind and some of your aging body. Get several hobbies. If you don't have a dozen things going on you're delinquent and delinquency allows that mind to wander into areas it shouldn't be. Keep that mid fully occupied and you'll be better off all the way around.

Out here in the hinters, fairly well prepped and no debts, panics are not common. Other than my everyday one. Yes, every. day. all. day. long. Back in the 70's I had heard that something like 60% of all politicians we're financially incompetent and couldn't even balance their own checkbooks. 90% of all politicians had bounced a check in the past year, etc. But these same politicians are in charge of the largest financial ploy in world history, a ploy that dictates things that can drastically effect all of us. THAT is my daily all day panic.

I don't believe tarriss's are going to set a nuke or take out the grid. I don't believe horrible diseases are going to wash over the country nor do I think the yellow midgets are going to attack. All of those things, and much more, are possible but not probable in my mind.

I believe those 455 incompetent assholes are going to sink the floundering, and listing heavily to starboard, USS america. And there's nothing anyone can do about it.

In this shitty democracy it requires a majority of people to get anything done and nobody can align with anyone else and just about everybody has their head in their rancid asses. So there will be no righting of, and sailing on, of the USS america. It will continue as is and getting worse each day until it doesn't. That's just the fucking way it is. And I don't like it. I have felt this coming all of my life though in the early days I din't know what was causing it. Now I know.

Out here in the sticks is the best place to be, I guess, so I bide my time, try to stay busy (I don't like being a hunger slave neither) and thats about the best I can do. If it wasn't so nasty out I'd grab a weapon of some sort and go outside and raise some hell. I was listening to a conservative talk show host the other evening, by the name of Michael Savage. I should add that I disagree with probably half of everything he says, but he’s worth listening to for the occasional gem he spews forth (In true, modern, neo-conservative fashion, Savage mindlessly defends anything the police do, thinks that sex dolls and porn should be outlawed, and that Marijuana is the “new heroin”, while the left wants to outlaw everything else. So as you can see, your freedoms are only slightly less endangered under the modern right).

In either event, and to my surprise, he mentioned something to the effect of a possibility of a 50% collapse. Apparently, Ron Paul mentioned something to this effect just the other day, and he was quoting him. Savage was actually being rather open minded about the whole thing, and even mentioned a rifle that he has for such occasions. This is quite a change from the typical modern right, neo-conservative crowd, that generally deny any possibility that any such event could ever happen. Of course, Savage lives in San Francisco, so he’s double dog humped, in the event of any such disaster (Though he does have a boat). But I thought that it was worth mentioning, as this is probably the first time that I’ve ever heard someone from the modern right admit to such a possibility. Ol’ redneck, “sister screwing sounding” financial advisor, Ramsey, was in denial about this possibility just the other day, so that’s quite a contrast :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-59471747289960936482018-12-20T09:58:12.893-08:002018-12-20T09:58:12.893-08:00Yeah, finally famous enough to target!Yeah, finally famous enough to target!James M Dakinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382139289994087931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-64099526975041102532018-12-20T09:56:44.599-08:002018-12-20T09:56:44.599-08:00And training equals confidence. Attend to emergency breakdown type issues, or must act now duties first as necessary. Things that can wait a bit, or put off to think it over a while may not be of any panic importance to stress over. I take days and weeks to make purchase decisions or start on manual projects simply because I am part lazy, but to use a time gap lag to be right about it or do things correctly. Side note on the sapping of energy issues. There may be relevance to the wifi signals, smart meters transmissions, cellular towers, microwave towers, soon to come 5G broadband. If a Minion could see or visualize all of the transmissions through the airwaves and spaces around their personal space it would be enough to set off scientific metering devices for sure. Anonymous Conservative (blog, I found on western rifle shooters rolls) references 'Directed Energy Weapons, "dew" used to harass and disrupt opposition targets. Causing illness and problems.
