Go nuts and get a precision heavy barrel for the best of both: 1. slow accurate fire, and 2. sturdy 20" barrel for blade mounting. Practice 1st round cold-barrel hits well-beyond 300M (effective range of AK/SKS carbine)so you don't need to mount the blade. Start carrying it everywhere for increased strength, 'cause this bitch weighs almost as much as an FAL.

pdxr13Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-38141529591820525512017-08-09T14:03:30.849-07:002017-08-09T14:03:30.849-07:00A trailer IS a great idea, but a used camping trai...A trailer IS a great idea, but a used camping trailer is the best deal. I would look for a chassis that has 2 axles and 15" wheels. Gut the horrible internals to save weight. Seal the roof but don't fix anything that is merely cosmetic. The 15" wheels will allow you to use light truck tires instead of expensive trailer tires. Pay attention to actual loaded weight and all of the maximum capacities.

Another interesting trailer group are the Apache pop-up trailers. They have independent suspension and pull better than solid axle models. Some have decent capacity, like my Apache Mesa (7'-6" wide, ~11' long box) that can carry 1500 pounds, with the top down, looking like a tent trailer. In Oregon, a trailer with weight less than about 2000# and one axle, lacking "permanent cooking and sleeping facilities" is an auto accessory not needing a plate/inspection/registration/insurance to go over the road behind your legal tow vehicle. "Not an RV, Officer. It's a utility trailer".

pdxr13Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-60551973620936182052017-08-09T13:48:00.590-07:002017-08-09T13:48:00.590-07:00I have recently learned of a night sight that is e...I have recently learned of a night sight that is even more super-awesome than a Gen3+ (AN/PVS-xx) light intensifier or a FLIR sight with 1200x1600 bolometer pixels (not needing helium cooling!) that runs on 2xAA's: a sight that is BOTH and blends the image of both technologies so that you can see a baby squirrel poke a paw out of a hole from 600M with 30 frames per second and no noticeable delay.
