If you have a paid off house or one with high equity to the loan balance and don't think you can sell it timely enough to get out with cash or it won't sell for enough cash after sale to give you a "grubstake" to evacuate with and start over consider a second mortgage or equity loan for 80 percent. Then make two or so payments to give time to pack your gear and bale out of the cesspool you were in and relocate with the extricated funds from the bankers and let the house go foreclosure as abandoned.
