Strain again through a tighter sifter. Then funnel into an ice cube tray cut in half, then into the Presto dryer. Same with beef but cut the beef into pieces first. You can get ice cube trays with smaller cubes at the dollar store. Forgot. When you let it cool the fat will flat to the top. Right ..."Best to stay home."
===========

Right there.
A couple years ago a neighbor came by and asked, "Don't you guys ever go any where? Every time I go past here both of your rides are in the drive."

I told him that every time I see him going by I wonder where he's going, and why.

See, we've created a paradise of sorts here and we don't really feel like leaving. Leaving is like stepping into the ghetto and I can't wait to get back here to paradise. Don't get me wrong. We don't live in a mansion nor do we have a lot expensive entertainment devices. We're simple people and we do our chores each day, our livelihoods, we take care of our animals, and we both have extensive hobbies. We leave, infrequently, to purchase supplies for all of those things. In a year we might leave the compound 3 times for entertainment purposes and for never more than a couple hours. Frankly, there's just no place I'd rather be than right here. I find most people overly confusing, complex, uninteresting, and boring. 80% of them could vanish and I'd hardly notice. BTW, is all this fake virus hype over yet? ghostsniperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15644187165818782984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686829448547770092.post-77299094756631691162020-03-15T10:23:06.687-07:002020-03-15T10:23:06.687-07:00Sure Jim. But I’m sure that you, as well as most of the other minions are aware of the legal loophole that allows one to purchase pre-1898 cartridge firing guns. The thing is, you probably would have to pay more to get one that is in firing condition, and even then, it’s akin to spending your non-circulated 1898, Morgan silver dollar, during a regular shopping session (i.e. ideally, you wouldn’t really want to do it)

A better option for those with limited options, and that must avoid the paper trail, is a black powder, cap and ball revolver. Spare cylinders are still reasonable at this point in time (About $50) and you would want to have some pre-loaded (Sans percussion cap) and ready for action. Some models allow for the cylinders to be replaced very quickly (The Remington 1858 for example). If you need more range, then get the “Buffalo model” with the 12” barrel. You can even add a shoulder stock to the Remington, and create a short, yet accurate, carbine. Though I’d recommend that you bring it to a boil for a full 5 minutes, before dumping the contents into the thermos.

I’ve seen wheat flour at local markets at a reasonable price, for a fairly hefty sack. This doesn’t help as far as sprouting, but you should also have one of those hermetically sealed survival seed cans, as well as intermediary use seeds.

It times like this, that I do wish that I was at the homestead full time, with annual trips for resupply. In this scenario, you wouldn’t even feel the effects of the empty shelves under such panics, and would be able to brave them without worry. I’d probably just grow turnips, so fresh potatoes/turnips, would be a non-issue. Butter and other perishable dairy might be though. Maybe some powdered milk, and Molly McButter, as well as other spices.

As far as the Coronavirus scare goes, I’m of the opinion that it is 100% political. But it doesn’t matter, because the damage from the fear mongering, is worse than the actual virus at this point (Remember, black Jesus didn’t lift a magical finger, and part a major body of water, until over a 1000 had perished from H1N1.
