plan B moving

PLAN B MOVING
Things are getting rather exciting lately what with energy infrastructure attacks ( refineries and grid hacking ) and all the economic excitement and one naturally has to ask, hey, Captain Obvious, is this the real deal 2008 Redux, finally, after I bought balcony seats and an extra large tub of popcorn? Now, I never discount False Flags. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not calling the event more than wondering how much of a miracle we would need for it NOT to be it. I just understand that we get about 1% factual information and with that it is a little hard to prognosticate.
*
We should at least try, though, even knowing we'll make fools of ourselves. I might have called Peak, Peak Oil about seventy three times already, but at least I'm not waving a fracking flag vigorously and denying energy has been in decline for decades and sixty year old technology isn't going to reverse that. I don't call Peak at 2030 like some fools, when it occurred fifteen years ago ( called by geologists in the petroleum field who just might know better than keyboard commandos listening to paid off shills ). At least I know enough to be very afraid instead of Ostrich Optimistic.
*
But before all these events from September, most of us were actually quite aware that Something Evil economically was upon us. This isn't just a Fear Porn boner moment. These recent events were just the frosting and cherry atop the crap cake that is being served up for the Deplorables birthday. So, of course, it is time for contingency planning. Not grand sounding plans that just rattle around in your pea brain, but taking actual steps as if, yes, indeedily doodily we won't finish out the year without watching Goldman Saks strong arming the feds for extra trillions.
*
Yes, yes, I KNOW the federal reserve bank has a gabazillion dollars ready to lend. I also think that the banks panicking during a liquidity crisis might mean that the derivatives market is witnessing a possible inability to cover bets gone wrong, an event that will be well out of the control of the central bank. Did you know that Freddie Mac and Fannie May are looking at 1 to 1,000 assets to debts? Far above the pitiful 1 to 100 or even 200 most banks pretend their exposure is. The banks learned exactly ONE thing from 2008 and that was how to use more derivatives for more profit.
*
I'm not doing a thing differently. I'd like more food but the darn feed store simply refuses to carry more than two to three bags of soy meal a week. All their inventory cost is in fancy cowgirl clothes and city slicker cowboy boots, not to mention the food freeze dryer sitting there, so they don't want to overexpose themselves on edible inventory. It makes me wonder how old the first two bags I picked up were. Anyway, that is for post-apocalypse rather than economic collapse use. I just worry about prices spiking.
*
What about you? Do you NEED to do anything last minute? This might well be your last chance. Normally I would tell you that you don't need Poodle Shooters or cases of ammo for a simple economic collapse ( “simple” as in all to follow will be far worse ), and you do NOT if you have more important things to focus on like FOOD. Did I mention, FOOD? I know none of you are unarmed or without ammunition. Even a rimfire will back off roving gangs of disadvantaged youth ( even if they do return and firebomb you ).
*
Do you have a cupboard full of half a years non-perishables? That isn't your post-apocalypse food, it is just your everyday eating with the grid up bought on sale food stockpile. Easily under $500, which includes meat and butter and plenty of carbs. If butter is too much you can easily substitute some kind of nasty cooking oil ( yes, princess, I know you use olive oil. Good for you, you get to leave a better looking corpse. I myself trust butter before olive oil that probably slipped in rapeseed or some other foulness ).
*
Do you have a place to go in case you are unemployed and lose the house? Stop crying, it will eventually be burned down by mobs anyway. Seriously. How hard is it for enemy combatants to figure out how to set crap ablaze? Expect it. And yes, I'm sure your mighty hero first responder neighbor is a volunteer firearm who makes you feel safe and cuddly. What happens when the power goes out, taking water pressure? Or the city treasurer stole all the funds and your fire fighting equipment starts breaking down and isn't replaced?
*
I know I'm a broken record, but I feel this is the next “five year long rimfire shortage item”. Junk land. There is hardly any of it out there, available at a reasonable price. Not stuff that also is available in no zoning areas. Do you need to go ahead and put $100 down on a lot and start making similar amount monthly payments? As soon as demand soars, the charlatans come out of the woodwork, like the fake gold coin bitches did after the metal went to $1,800 a few years back. You might want to buy while the quality is better.
*
I'm not going to tell you to buy silver, because that is the very last thing a prepper needs ( aside from the amount needed for property tax, to avoid inflation ). If you already have everything, I'm sure you were already smart enough to get silver because it is grossly undervalued now. Not that you want to sell it later, you are just buying it because the price is so low it is silly not to. As far as guns and ammo, PLEASE be very squared away on food, first, both post-apocalypse and as a grid up unemployment item. THEN you can worry about the coming Crap Trifecta.
*
Inflation, transportation and gun control. Inflation because, duh. Monetary inflation, scarcity inflation, energy inflation. As goes energy, so goes the price of everything because of the need for transportation ( those industries that moved back from China did so mainly for one reason-transportation costs went up ). If a barrel of oil went back up to $100, added to all the trucking firms now going out of business, how well do you think you'll fare with your Amazon Prime free shipping for a giant bag of dog food?
*
Or your Free Ammo Shipping on orders over $50? Goodbye. Yeah, better be getting those steel cased ammo rounds NOW, before transportation from Russia gets a lot more expensive ( it is my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong, but crap Wolf is domestic and much better Tula is Russian ). AR parts are still insanely low, just not AS low as a year ago prior to Red Flag laws sprouting up like mushrooms in Hilary's cellulite. You were seeing $259 kits from Palmetto State even if they were like unicorn sightings, $279 with free shipping. Still $299 now, but do not delay.
*
I don't want to get into the whole gun control debate here right now, but I sense a disturbance in the Force this time ( in twenty years, assuming no collapse, people will be scratching their heads, “what's this Force you speak of”, after Disney killed the franchise so dead it becomes a cultural black hole ). It isn't just because my once beloved Deplorable state went Red Flag ( honestly, I missed the news on it. Embarrassing! I really need to subscribe online for a local paper and keep up with these events. I even missed Elko county joining in the theoretical boycott of the new law. It merely buys me a little time ).
*
It isn't because all the squawking by the communists. They ALWAYS do that. It is what they do. It is like hanging around women. All you hear is the same mantras. I'm a dingus tease. I need pie. I work harder than anyone. Blah, blah. Whatever, bitches. Democrats are just emotionally charged automatons. That is why all the males are pussies and soy boys, because logic is not allowed and emotions reign supreme.
*
Don't misunderstand me. Republicans are usually morons. Ah, duh, which way did he go, George? Ah, duh, tax cuts for the rich. You have lower middle class Republicans supporting tax cuts for the 1% because, Kapitalism! Sprinkle flour on your ass and call you done. Jesus weeps. Anyway, at least most Republicans makes noises like they have a pair of testicles, if for no other reason than to appear to NOT be a Democrat. No, the difference this time on gun control is simple demographics.
*
Remember, the government lies. They lie about everything including illegal immigration. The states are no longer the same color as three years ago. You might think your state is only purple, and that is true by population, but it isn't by vote. You can already see how Florida is going to look, gun control wise, and Texas might not be far behind. Least thee forget, Florida was one of the first states pushing back against gun control, decades ago. Now look at the pathetic humpers. Why do you think Texas is far behind? Demographics and Blue control is a Seneca Cliff, slow going up and plummeting down almost instantly. Okay, way too long today. Continued tomorrow.

  1. Wolf was a ukrainian product a while back, (old com bloc factory outsourcing probably) Tula is good to go . I like Barnaul as well as they had silver bear brands with nickle plated steel cased ammo, and some h.p. in handgun calibers. Golden bear was brass plated steel cased, good too but not seen much any more, cost for brass maybe or streamlined out? Sportsman Guide as others do come up with east bloc sourced ammo at nato standards quality and not just combloc calibers or steel cased, much cheaper than big name domestics. Happy hunting Comrades!

    2. Honestly, from running gun(s) of many variants etc on a rental range it takes a lot of round counts to start breaking parts on mainline guns. The steel cases are not going to be detrimentally harder on a gun. Dirty, yeah, but we clean our guns every chance anyhow. At this juncture of the collapse better to have more ammo than not, so just lay it in and don't think twice or be poobahed by unicorn riding beard boys that insist that brass cased ammo is only allowed into their annointed rank and file.

    3. Even without data to back it up, I feel very unsafe running steel case ammo in my war surplus guns. The things are practically getting to be collectables. How does one replace an extractor? Now, the AR's, no problem at all. So I'm playing both sides on this one.

  2. Yes, me too, for that kinda of a social justice movement. I am ramping up contingency actions plans as well, due to the band's tempo picking up lately. Shift from the planning and daydreaming fantasies of unicorn pastured redoubting, to a B.T.N. actionable plan in the here and now doable. If I can stay out of the camps, boxcars, and morgue fridge with a toe tag, good start. Even a primal hermitage like a savage is sporty fun, just to be avoiding those much worser spicy times.

  3. Jim, I think aside from the Nancy girls in the Nevada legislature spoiling the soup of government, mainly as it pertains to their areas of operational control. I.E. in vegas metro hub and reno-sparks, carson city hubs. The cow counties or rurals in Nv (or like in other state's scenarios) may hold their own version of autonomy and not go along with clown world edicts. Those local politicians and leo-courts-systems have to reside in the area as well.
They do not have that anonymous crowd hiding ability and goliath gov't to shield them. If in a similiar station or location I would hold the ground there, unless fleeing a worser locale or metropolis to the hinterlands. The new lines on maps will be due to ability to take or hold ground by force, not legislative words on paper. Upon collapsing there will new paradigms, prep for that eventuality as first objective, then just spectate with popcorn the lumbering soon to collapse systems in the here and now.

  4. "Get off of the bank's land," says the collector-enforcer. "You have no means to pay for it any longer, choosing to eat rather than pay rent and property taxes...(or just property taxes.)"

This can't be communism? Communism is benevolent, isn't it? You know, screw the rich; give the poor a place to live and food to eat. But a privileged bomber said back in the sixties that 25 million citizens needed to die. Tough guy. He is number 1 on my list. Send a message by starting with him, and his wife. String them both up, upside down, in Chi-town.

All of the planning in the world for doomsday because these damned elites who need to be named (I do not doubt they exist, just who are they?) can determine the outcomes of my life, liberty, property, and happiness. How about we make their lives fearful and miserable? Yeah, there's a problem with that: rugged individualists are their own worst enemy; proud and independent, more interested in asking for what state you fled or why you haven't done your due diligence as a prepper, so when the time comes we face the enemy in small units and let the city boy with his 10K rounds fend for himself. Commies always were better team players until they couldn't handle victory and started killing each other.

They will want to confiscate my land and guns. Okay, let them try because they won't get either. They will have their hands full while millions of others refuse to submit. When the fascists and communists sink the system, they then don't get to deny me my natural rights, in fact they must defend theirs at this point. And it is time to quit hunkering down and waiting. A leader is needed, one who commands the federal army of citizens who take the fight directly to them. But, we are told, "Do not fire the first shot or you will see the militarized police with cause to attack us." Personally, I favor gathering intelligence while being funded by conservative rich guys. Intelligence with schedule information, with numbers of body guards, home addresses, etc. What are marksmen for? What good is an unemployed sniper? We see the head of the snake, yet we opt for the bloody way of fighting the other guy's army. A guy taught me a long time ago in coaching high school kids to play football, "If you, coach, are a street fighting type of guy, you run this kind of system; if you aren't good at street fighting, you run an ambush style. You have to know yourself and work within that knowledge." He happened to be a skinny chain smoking Irish street fighter. They know a thing or two about insurgency, those Irish. Bombs are easy to make. Just how fearful would the enemy be if we stopped playing nice, Jim?

What were the statistics for insurgency? You don't need a large percentage of the population to win. But I suggest that we are near time where selective elimination of targets may be necessary: politicians, judges, bureaucrats, propagandizers (but forget Hollywood blue checks). Now, just who will fear whom, Jim?

    1. The problem with fighting back now is that you are living in their world. The UniBomber had the right idea. He was hard to catch because he tried to avoid technology, which is what his enemy would have used against him. We? We are dumbasses, trying to use The Man's tools against him. You can't rebel if you need His money, his electricity, his roads, his corporations. The reason there is no rebellion is because no one wants to give up those goodies. I wouldn't trust one swinging dingus out there unless they were already trying to leave the system as completely as they could. Then I still wouldn't trust them, because 99% of rebels are Intelligence assets trolling for recruits. Forget organizing. Prep for collapse. Or rebellion. Alone. Don't trust anyone past your dog. If rebellion comes, it comes. If needs must...In the meantime, I just don't worry about it. I have no system I want to save, nor any I want to introduce. Too old for those games.

  5. "99% of rebels are intelligence assets trolling for recruits."

I wonder if Bracken or any other potential leader would look at it this way.

Even so, when the system is full-on tyrannical, what are you going to do? Are you planning to live in a cave? What good is freedom without liberty? If I understand you here I should prepare for a life of solitary isolation just to evade being detected.

I don't look at my money as being "his," any more than I consider any of my natural rights as coming from HIM or his jack-booted thugs. What we fought for the first time was some ideas, one being exactly where certain rights come from. This is why these people need to be stopped cold now. This won't convince you, I know. Perhaps I need to re-think exactly where I should take this fight. And that is no offense to you as I see survival skills as necessary.

If all of the survivalists think that no fight is going to happen, and that hunkering down in order to live freely under the radar of the tyrants, then what do they envision for the future? Who or what will uproot the tyrants? China? Russia?

    1. Oh, it will reach a point where we have no choice but to take up the fight. If the collapse doesn't happen first. My point is, go lone wolf. Army of one. Otherwise the odds are you get burned. Wiser words than you realize Jim. When my father was diagnosed with lung cancer, he still appeared to be completely healthy. Had we left him alone as he was, he probably would have lived another few years. A few weeks into the chemotherapy, and shortly afterwards, radiation, the effect on his appearance and health was dramatic. He went from using a cane to assist in walking, to a walker, to a wheelchair, all in about a month. He still had arm strength at this point, but that soon went. Since he was helpless, my mother could no longer take care of him, so he went into the hospital. He never returned, aside from the brief time that he came home to die. Chemotherapy is a derivative of mustard gas (Yes, friggin mustard gas!).

I’m glad you quit smoking. Even one cigarette a day. You do not want to be diagnosed with lung cancer. Sure, you can say that about any cancer, but if you’re diagnosed with types of cancers such as lung cancer, pancreatic cancer (Also heavily associated with smoking) it’s game over. You have months, if not weeks left, not years. That chick that played Rhoda lived for 10 years with it. But to be honest, that’s the first time that I have ever heard of anyone ever living anywhere near that long with lung cancer.

      Delete
    7. I almost wonder if the lung cancer was more radiation than smoking. But, of course you are correct. Why play with fire.

    8. He was definitely diagnosed with lung cancer, Jim. But if what you’re saying is, that it was the radiation that ultimately killed him, yes, it was. However, long before the radiation, the effects of the chemo were already devastating. Either alone would have killed him.

    9. No, sorry, I was far from clear. I was saying, in general, among the population, smoking and lung cancer might have been overshadowed by radioactive fallout from tests and lung cancer after that.

For example, you could buy an acre in a remote subdivision where you have title to one acre, but practical access to 1000. That's fine until someone else gets the same idea, and now you suddenly have competition for resources and the knowledge that you're always being watched by the guy in the next lot over who has just as much right to be there as you do. Serious question, would you have enjoyed your BPOD property more, tolerating the neighbors and their increasing density over time, if you had 40 acres, or even 10 acres?

Yes, that’s the exact situation that my junk land is in. Though at least I have 2.5 acres, which is slightly better than a 1 acre buffer. But if it were to build up all around me, my junk land would all of suddenly become useless. I’m banking on the fact that few others are as crazy as I, and will not be doing so. Since I’m 5 miles from water/power, I’m hoping that’s enough of a deterrent. Indeed, if you can afford to do so, buy a much bigger parcel.

    3. Yeah, not sure what was worse, pick and shovel or pushing the dirt uphill. The lungs have taken a beating between chlorine gas, biking at minus 15 and smoking.

    5. I skipped two days exercising-might be an upcoming article-and I went a week with a very twingey back, threatening me at every movement. That was almost as bad as not catching my breath every time I had that one cigarette. I feel like I'm on that swords edge. One slack moment...

An underground archery range? A wheat repository? A safe house for when prophet Bison takes a sabbatical?
