Territorialism is a no brainer.  Our chimp ancestors did it, and still do, and we always did it ( although we don’t do it well at all anymore, allowing intrusion unparalleled by our SJW masters-sometimes even helping them by buying Alexa ).  Protecting your territory is really as simple as resource allotment.  If you don’t protect your resources you’ll be controlled and defeated.  The old saying, give you an inch and you’ll take a mile?  That is your primary mission statement pertaining to practicing territorialism.

*

The usual chuckle inducing discussion is to place piked heads at your boundary lines.  A much more effective dissuasion than harsh words or sterile signs.  But of course the devil is always in the details and you shouldn’t just follow a scorched earth policy at the demilitarized zone.  There are going to be intruders, and while it is fine and dandy to capture military intruders, castrate them and enslave them, or if part of a traveling caravan full of females, to just make them wives to enrich your gene pool, not all intruders are so easily dealt with.

*

For instance, I was stymied by the following.  In my area, wood isn’t exactly abundant.  Of course, far too many melon heads are going to cut down all the green wood in town and try to burn it, two minutes after the apocalypse.  Because if you are too stupid to prepare, and then are too stupid to leave the area and insist on living through winter with questionable deliveries of supplies and brownouts in the electric grid, you are stupid enough to think a tree you just chopped down will burn properly.  You are also probably retarded and shouldn’t be given power equipment, but the rest of us won’t be lucky enough that you saw off a leg and your junk while using a chainsaw.

*

The trees in town are ornamental, and outside the river bank there are no more.  If you don’t plan of surviving off of sagebrush, you are one of the morons who shouldn’t be living here.  But of course, only in fiction are your neighbors upstanding preppers.  I’m not saying that your neighbor isn’t sweet enough to eat.  I’m sure they are simply the cat’s meow.  My neighbors, on the other hand, are usually California rejects who are retarded enough to move here.  Why do they move?  The mines are paying well and unemployment is low here.  Never mind the cost of living is high, we’ll just move right next door to the schmuck who overpaid and thought he had peace and quiet.

*

Let’s get nearly free land from Uncle Sanchez who bought it decades ago and is shipping up all his cousins from Mexico, packing them in dilapidated mobile homes, getting his brother Juan to drill them a well at cost, piggy backing on the White folks down the road who paid the big bucks to get the power lines moved out here.  And we can all get jobs in town because we also have family members who run all the kitchens at all the restaurants patronized by workers from the mines.  Now, given the impending economic collapse, how long does all that last?

*

At the first sign of mining contraction, a double dog dingus guarantee because the corporations have been hanging on through borrowing and futures markets manipulation ( derivatives, in other words ), are all these pampered Latino princesses going to pack up their brood and unass the area of operations, or are they going to hang around and bother the crap out of me?  Now, I have no animosity towards Mexicans.  Good folks ( and, remember about my two Mexican wives? ).  What I don’t cotton to are uppity Mexicans thinking this is their land.

*

No, Pacho, this was Spanish land that you only inherited.  And then quickly lost to the whites.  You were then used as pawns by white bankers, but it isn’t like you were indentured servants like my white ancestors who then were cannon fodder used against the Indians so the elites could exploit the land.  You came over here and worked better jobs.  If you had stayed home, it would have been zero jobs.  So you improved your lot, had babies here, who got much better jobs and all in all America was pretty darn good to you, even as you were used to exploit and marginalize the whites already here.  When you claim that you want your stolen land back, I get a little offended.  Besides the Japanese, no one in a conquered land has ever been treated better.

*

Not that you were even here, ancestor wise.  There were a very few ranchers, past the original Spanish administrators and settlers.  So how many actual Mexicans got a raw deal when the US took the land through war?  I know sure as God made little green apples that the land couldn’t have supported all that many of you.  And those that it did, were living off the accomplishments of the Spanish and the exploitation of the Indians.  That would be like me claiming all the railroads because the Irish built it for poor wages and dangerous conditions ( I’m not Irish, or at most Scots-Irish, but you take my point ).  But the Victim Mentality is going to still hold sway and those of you who stay will use it to justify trying to steal my resources.

*

No one is ever evil, remember?  Everyone justifies what they do.  Just as I’ll justify clearing out all the surplus population by force, if I am able, if I left my neighbors in peace they would justify taking the sagebrush/wood supply, leaving me none.  THEY have lots of children, so they need the firewood in the winter.  THEY don’t have a comfy underground house like I do, so they need more wood for heat.  THEY have more mouths to feed and need much longer cooking times.  Pretty soon, I am the one at fault as I’m taking wood from their precious conehead spawn bambinos.  Do you see why territorial conquest and control is so important?  Yet, that means I’m shooting at kids trying to harvest wood?  We continue tomorrow.

  1. Your chainsaw remark reminded me of one time just after Hurricane Fran went through and there was trees down all over the place.

My boss and I were removing debris from the repair shop I worked at when this Yankee transplant drives up and pulls out a chainsaw still in the box. He asked where he puts the gas in the thing. Mind you, the chain and bar wasn't even installed.
I told him if I needed me to show him that, I wasn't going to show him, that emergency services had enough to do.
For some reason he got mad and drove off in a huff.

    1. Aren't Yankee settlers "Gott Damn Yankees"?

    2. We don't mind if they vacation here, or by a vacation home even. But when they bring a U Haul, then they become Damn Yankees.
When they get involved in local politics and insist their way is better because that is the way they did it up North, then they become F-ing Yankees

    3. Yeah, them Yankees will all head north once the grid goes down.
I'll be out in the shade being just fine under an Oak hammock. Where they're all afraid to come...

    4. Lol, I lived in Elko for a while. Seen what you described first hand. If the Basques don't get them first, the Te-Moaks will in the die off

    5. Just curious Lord Bison, despite my ancestry of Tennessee hillbillies I was born and have lived all my 50 years in CA. I've been looking at junk land in Elko as my "retirement plan" since this cess pit of a state has left me without a pot to piss in so to speak... Should I reconsider, lest I be an outcast "Yankee"? Every other "affordable" location puts me in the midst of the wrong tribe, though its getting that way in CA too... Should've bailed out 15 years ago but wasn't awake yet. Now thanks to your teachings Ive got so much more to think about, it makes the decision of where to go all the more daunting! Damn your out of the box thinking and your lustrous hair! (I'm kidding of course, love your work man!)

    6. JL-you should be fine moving up here. I fit in pretty good. As long as you don't act Californian, you should be accepted. I think mostly since it's either LDS or short timers, its only the Cali Yuppie Scum who have attitude ( LDS keeps to themselves, the transients are only here to make a buck and leave ).

W2-I think growing up poor in Cali, I was spared the cultural nose up in the air imprint. I don't even recognize my "fellow" Cali's as human.

Spud-they might all cloister near the beaches. Safer than the jungles. I think they are learned from "Castaway". Willlsooon!!!

    7. Elko minion here, who’s also from Kalifornia. I got my 2.5 acres some 15 odd miles outside of Elko for a reasonable price back in 2015. And while I don’t regret my purchase, if I had to do over again, I would not buy so close to Kalifornia. Jim alone, informing me that private firearms sales were abolished more recently, tells you that Kalifornians have already ruined Nevada enough, and that you should look elsewhere if possible.

If I had it to do over again, I would choose either eastern Montana or the Dakota’s, but in all likelihood the Dakota’s. Montana, Wyoming (nicknamed the “equality state”, so I would never move there on principle alone) and the Dakota’s, are the 4 states that are taking on the least amount of immigration (hence, the least likely to be ruined in the near future).

But if you do end up in any of these states, plan on earth sheltered as a given.

    8. I still think Nevada started out a bit more liberty minded than most places and has the furthest to fall, but that is rather subjective on my part. Then there is Yellowstone ( but I look at there and Drowning Florida as extra paranoid planning-which I probably shouldn't ). But, I really can't argue that Nevada has issues being next to Cali. But, really, I think most places are on a general downward spiral anyway. Is there really a great place left? You used to have Alaska which at least had the oil revenue tax share to help if you had low income out in the bush, but then the oil is drying up and that is toast. Texas is getting way overcrowded ( +illegals ). You could make a case against a lot of states. If I went back twenty years, would I want any state knowing what I do now?

    9. I think that the best that you can do Jim is to try and pick a place that most Californians, and other blue stater's, would never dream of relocating to. Cold, bleak, and desolate places (The Dakota’s) are places that most of these people would never even consider. There’s a sacrifice on your part in terms of comfort, but to me it’s worth it to get as far away from these types of people as possible.

It helps to put yourself in the mind of a progressive. Some years back I made a comment to someone that I had wanted to move to the rural south. I got the response of:

“Oh no, not me, everyone back there is ignorant”.

That was an awesome answer, because it indicated to me that people such as this person would never dream of moving to such areas and ruining them :D

Of course now I do not think that the south is a good place to be, but this is due to population density more than anything else.

    10. Nevada has some parts, minus any greenery or the entire western border ( Washoe county down to Carson and Fallon, to Henderson, LV and Mesquite ), so about two thirds of the state, that are lacking too many Blue Yuppie Scum. Far from shopping or trees and you are safe. They are still screwing up the state government, like LA cholos west of us, but there were also a lot of issues I had with some of the mountain state governments as well. I guess all we can do is hope for the best, as there are no guarantees.

  2. Following series. Once a shtf, resource collapse scenerio commences almost all of the transplanted hordes or unprepared and disrespectful local-yokels will become feral dogs. My mental checklist has many nearby categorized into action plans as necessary. There may be some cooperation, teamwork, etc. But it will be very small scale, isolated in locations and of limited effectiveness. Minions that are loners, can function almost always independently, without calling for help or jobbing out common work/projects, will be the type to do well without the dangerous and leaching parasites of the neighborhood.

    1. Right, it almost seems tribes are further down the collapse line. Independent, dependent, each has plus and minuses. One thing I'm encountering which might be applicable-my potential tribe members keep moving away. What if yours does, following that shrinking pool of jobs? Just something to ponder. Loner hermit starts to appeal.

  3. James, have you read anything by Richard Adrian Reese. I'm liking "Sustainable or Bust" by him.
His subject matter is exactly your target data: macro, long term sustainability issues that are peaking and creaking under our ginormous population.
He is funny, smart and readable. Your twin separated at birth?

  4. Agree with your analysis of modern Mexicans thinking 'El Gringo' ripped off their land. They did rip it off, just as the Spanish took the land from Native Americans as we did from the American Native Americans. They had only achieved independence from Spain and France for several decades before the land was taken due to the U.S. Mexican War. Winners and Losers baby - that is reality.

The Mexicans are slowly reclaiming rights on our side of the border due to illegal immigration. Note how quickly Democrats are attempting to give them voting status. The jig is up mofos.

    1. It was my understanding France never really got a foothold. Wasn't that just a minor battle or two? Or am I missing a big chunk?

    2. No you are right. I think most of the French influence was actually in southeastern U.S. / Northern Mexico. They really didn't seem to press the issue too hard when they left. Too damn hot and humid is my guess, lol.

    3. I know the Legion was involved. They have a wooden leg ( or something similar ) from the commander in one of the fights where he refused to surrender. Used to celebrate crazy cracker mofo's. I should look that up again but from a macro perspective, see what was going on.
